1A new species of Megophrys (Amphibia:Anura:Megophryidae) from the northwestern Hunan Province,China显示文摘A new species of Megophrys (Amphibia: Anura: Megophryidae), Megophrys tuberogranulatus Shen, Mo et Li, sp.nov. (Holotype HNUL 03080902, adult male, SVL: 38.2 mm), from Sangzhi County, Hunan Province, is described. Megophrystuberogranulatus is closely related to both Megophrys kuatunensis and Megophrys minor. Characters of the new species that differentiatethis species from close relatives are skin granulated with big tubercles on the dorsal sides of both thigh and tibia, thebigger inner metacarpal tubercle, upper eyelid wider than the interorbital space, hind limbs longer, overlapping of the left andright calcaneal parts. 2Wg signaling in Drosophila heart development as a pioneering model显示文摘The heart is one of the first functional embryonic organs occurring during development. The fundamental developmental processes and genes involved in cardiogenesis are conserved between the invertebrates and vertebrates. In the past fifteen years, one of signaling pathways that has been best characterized in heart development in both invertebrates and vertebrates is the Wg/Wnt signaling pathways. Since our discovery of the Wg signaling required for the early heart development in Drosophila, the past fifteen years have witnessed tremendous progress in the understanding of specific Wnt signaling pathways in vertebrate cardiogenesis. 3Identification of zebrafish magnetoreceptor and cryptochrome homologs显示文摘Magnetoreception is essential for magnetic orientation in animal migration. The molecular basis for magnetoreception has recently been elucidated in fruitfly as complexes between the magnetic receptor magnetoreceptor(Mag R) and its ligand cryptochrome(Cry). Mag R and Cry are present in the animal kingdom. However, it is unknown whether they perform a conserved role in diverse animals. Here we report the identification and expression of zebrafish Mag R and Cry homologs towards understanding their roles in lower vertebrates. A single magr gene and 7 cry genes are present in the zebrafish genome. Zebrafish has four cry1 genes(cry1aa, cry1 ab, cry1 ba and cry1bb) homologous to human CRY1 and a single ortholog of human CRY2 as well as 2 cry-like genes(cry4 and cry5). By RT-PCR, magr exhibited a high level of ubiquitous RNA expression in embryos and adult organs, whereas cry genes displayed differential embryonic and adult expression. Importantly, magr depletion did not produce apparent abnormalities in organogenesis. Taken together, magr and cry2 exist as a single copy gene, whereas cry1 exists as multiple gene duplicates in zebrafish. 10Role of the domains of human gene ZNF569 in MAPK pathway显示文摘Mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signal pathways are important components in signal transduction connecting cell-surface receptors to critical regulatory targets within cells,mediating multiple intracellular signal cascades and phosphorylating their target proteins,such as transcriptional factors ELK-1,SRE and AP-1,and finally activating the expression of intracellular functional genes.Zinc finger genes are some of the largest gene families in humans,and Zinc finger proteins play an essential role in altering gene expression by acting as transcription factors.Zinc finger proteins are also involved in multiple cell processes,including proliferation,differentiation and development,by interacting with DNA.Here,we reported the transcriptional activities of the domains of zinc finger gene ZNF569 taking advantage of MAPK pathway.Overexpression of ZNF569 in COS-7 cells dramatically inhibited the transcriptional repressor activities of SRE and AP-1,which was also confirmed by subcellular localization analysis.Report assays indicated that the potent repression domains of ZNF569 were the KRAB and ZNF motifs.The results suggested that ZNF569 protein might act as a transcriptional repressor in MAPK signaling pathway to regulate cellular processes.YUAN Wuzhou HUANG Xinqiong ZHU Chuanbing WANG Yuequn LI Yongqing WU Xiushan 2006Frontiers in Biology2006,1,4:0
11Intra-specific relationships among Tibetan Eared-pheasants based on randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD)analysis显示文摘The Tibetan Eared-pheasant Crossoptilon harmani is a rare species native to China.A captive population has been established in the Beijing Zoo since 1999.In order to determine the kinship of the offsprings in 2001,randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD)was used to examine the parenthood of seven Tibetan Eared-pheasants in the Beijing Zoo.To amplify the genomic DNA of each individual,53 arbitrary primers were selected.The results of amplifications showed that 14 primers had clear and distinct RAPD patterns.Totally,226 amplified fragments were generated by RAPD in this study.Cluster analysis of the seven Tibetan Eared-pheasants indicated that all the four young birds had the same father(No.5 male).This study provides a practical method to determine the relationship of offsprings whose parents are unknown in birds.DING Wei ZHANG Zhengwang CHANG Jiang ZHANG Er WU Xiushan ZHANG Jinguo 2006Frontiers in Biology2006,1,4:0
12Difficulty-aware bi-network with spatial attention constrained graph for axillary lymph node segmentation显示文摘Axillary lymph node(ALN)segmentation in ultrasound images is important for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.Recently,deep learning methods for automatic medical image segmentation have improved significantly.However,two problems arise.(1)A unified model is often employed to segment all images without considering the difficulty diversity.(2)The relationship between elements in the learned class probability map is disregarded.To address these two issues,we propose a novel difficulty-aware binetwork with a spatial attention constrained graph.First,a difficulty grading module(DGM)is developed to learn the difficulty grade of input images.Based on the difficulty grade of images,a novel bi-network architecture is proposed to segment the image adaptively using different branches.In complex branches,a novel spatial attention module(SAM)and graph-based energy with spatial attention constraint are proposed.The learned spatial attention map can provide additional discriminative information.Moreover,the graph-based segmentation framework can capture the relationship between pixels,further improving the segmentation performance for complex images.We conducted an experiment on our ultrasound database using 216 cases.The overall dice similarity coefficient,Jaccard coefficient,volumetric overlap error,and false positive rate are 83.41%,74.4%,12.02%,and 13.36%for ALN segmentation,respectively.The comparison results demonstrated that the proposed method outperforms other deep learning methods.Qing XU Xiaoming XI Xianjing MENG Zheyun QIN Xiushan NIE Yongjian WU Dongsheng ZHOU Yi QU Chenglong LI Yilong YIN 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,9:0
13Advanced studies on human gene ZNF322显示文摘The human novel gene of ZNF322 is cloned from human fetal cDNA library using the primers on the basis of the ZNF322 sequence analyzed with computer.The gene is located on Chromosome 6p22.1,and encodes a protein con-sisting of 402 amino acid residues and containing nine tandem C_(2)H_(2)-type zinc-finger motifs.Northern blot result shows that the gene is expressed in all examined adult tissues.Sub-cellular location study indicates that ZNF322-EGFP fusion protein is distributed in the nucleus and cytoplasm.Reporter gene assays show that ZNF322 is a potential transcriptional activator.LI Yongqing WANG Yuequn YUAN Wuzhou DENG Yun ZHU Chuanbing WU Xiushan 2007Frontiers in Biology2007,2,4:0
14Effect of Fermentation Bed with Spent Mushroom Substrate of Pleurotus eryngii on Weaning Piglets显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to investigate effects on fermentation bed temperature,growth performance,diarrhea rate and digestive en-zyme activity of weaning piglets by using spent mushroom substrate of Pleurotus eryngii as padding.[Method] A total of 120 weaning piglets(Duroc × Landrace ×Yorkshire) with average initial body weight of(8.0 ±0.5)kg were allocated to five dietary treatments in a randomized complete block design for 42 d,each of which was replicated three times with eight piglets per replicate(half male,half female).The padding for control group was(50% sawdust +50% rice husk);experimental group Ⅰ 100% spent mushroom substrate;experimental group Ⅱ(15% sawdust +15% rice husk +70% spent mushroom substrate);experimental group Ⅲ(25% sawdust +25% rice husk +50% spent mushroom substrate);experimental group Ⅳ(35% sawdust +35% rice husk +30% spent substrate).[Result] There was no significant difference in surface temperature of fermentation bed between experimental groups and control group(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the temperature under 20 cm of fermentation bed in ex-perimental groups I,Ⅱ and Ⅲ increased significantly(P<0.05).Except for experimental group Ⅳ,other three experimental groups had higher aver-age daily gain(P<0.05) and experimental group Ⅰ had higher average daily feed intake(P<0.05) compared to the control group.The diarrhea rate and mortality of weaning piglets in experimental groups Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ were significantly decreased compared with the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,other three experimental groups had higher digestive enzyme activity in duodenal contents except for experimental group Ⅳ(P<0.05).[Conclusion] Spent mushroom substrate of P.eryngii can be used as fermentation bed padding,and the optimal proportion was experimental group Ⅲ.Guo Tong Ma Jianmin Wu Yan Chen Yajun Guo Xiushan 2018Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2018,10,2:0
