4Overtopping breaching of cohesive homogeneous earth dam with different cohesive strength显示文摘In consideration of the range of clay content of Chinese earth dams, the world's highest prototype tests have been made to research on the effects of cohesive strength of filling of cohesive homogeneous earth dam on breach formation. Three breach mechanisms were presented, they were the source-tracing erosion of dam body with the form of 'multilevel headcut', 'two-helix flow' erosion of dam crest and collapse of breach sidewalls due to instability. It can be concluded that the cohesive strength of filling of earth dam has great effect on breach formation. When the cohesive strength is bigger, the breach process becomes slower, and the peak outflow and the final width and depth of breach become smaller. The main character of the breach formation is head cutting and dumping collapse. When the cohesive strength is smaller, the breach process becomes faster, and the peak outflow, the final width and depth of breach become bigger. 15Natural history of covert hepatic encephalopathy: An observational study of 366 cirrhotic patients显示文摘AIM To explore the natural history of covert hepatic encephalopathy(CHE) in absence of medication intervention.METHODS Consecutive outpatient cirrhotic patients in a Chinese tertiary care hospital were enrolled and evaluated for CHE diagnosis. They were followed up for a mean of 11.2 ± 1.3 mo. Time to the first cirrhosis-related complications requiring hospitalization, including overt HE(OHE), resolution of CHE and death/transplantation, were compared between CHE and no-CHE patients. Predictors for complication(s) and death/transplantation were also analyzed.RESULTS A total of 366 patients(age: 47.2 ± 8.6 years, male: 73.0%) were enrolled. CHE was identified in 131 patients(35.8%). CHE patients had higher rates of death and incidence of complications requiring hospitalization, including OHE, compared to unimpaired patients. Moreover, 17.6% of CHE patients developed OHE, 42.0% suffered persistent CHE, and 19.8% of CHE spontaneously resolved. In CHE patients, serum albumin < 30 g/L(HR = 5.22, P = 0.03) was the sole predictor for developing OHE, and blood creatinine > 133 μmol/L(HR = 4.75, P = 0.036) predicted mortality. Child-Pugh B/C(HR = 0.084, P < 0.001) and OHE history(HR = 0.15, P = 0.014) were predictors of spontaneous resolution of CHE.CONCLUSION CHE exacerbates, persists or resolves without medication intervention in clinically stable cirrhosis. 20An economic and low-carbon day-ahead Pareto-optimal scheduling for wind farm integrated power systems with demand response显示文摘Demand response(DR)and wind power are beneficial to low-carbon electricity to deal with energy and environmental problems.However,the uncertain wind power generation(WG)which has anti-peaking characteristic would be hard to exert its ability in carbon reduction.This paper introduces DR into traditional unit commitment(UC)strategy and proposes a multi-objective day-ahead optimal scheduling model for wind farm integrated power systems,since incentive-based DR can accommodate excess wind power and can be used as a source of system spinning reserve to alleviate generation side reserve pressure during both peak and valley load periods.Firstly,net load curve is obtained by forecasting load and wind power output.Then,considering the behavior of DR,a day-ahead optimal dispatching scheme is proposed with objectives of minimum generating cost and carbon emission.Non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II(NSGA-II)and satisfaction-maximizing method are adopted to solve the multi-objective model with Pareto fronts and eclectic decision obtained.Finally,a case study is carried out to demonstrate that the approach can achieve economic and environmental aims and DR can help to accommodate the wind power.Rui MA Kai LI Xuan LI Zeyu QIN 2015Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2015,3,3:20
