| 2 | Application of Hydrosoluble Polymers to Preparation of Nanoscale Calcium Hydroxide显示文摘Calcium hydroxide with uniform diameters about 50—100 nm was firstly prepared under moderate condition by adding different kinds of hydrosoluble polymers. From the results of TEM and IR, the polymers were proved not only to improve the agglomeration of the nanoparticles but also to be used as a template to control the formation of the special structure and the needed size of Ca(OH) 2 by changing the concentration of the polymers. The experimental results of TG-DTA indicate that the Ca(OH) 2 can absorb most of the acid gases released during the decomposition of polymers. | 3 | Development of highly glyphosate-tolerant tobacco by coexpression of glyphosate acetyltransferase gat and EPSPS G2-aroA genes显示文摘The widely used herbicide glyphosate targets 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase(EPSPS).Glyphosate acetyltransferase(GAT)effectively detoxifies glyphosate by N-acetylation.With the aim of identifying a new strategy for development of glyphosate-tolerant crops,the plant expression vector pG2-GAT harboring gat and G2-aroA(encoding EPSPS)has been transformed into tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum)to develop novel plants with higher tolerance to glyphosate.Results from Southern and Western blotting analyses indicated that the target genes were integrated into tobacco chromosomes and expressed effectively at the protein level.Glyphosate tolerance was compared among transgenic tobacco plants containing gat,G2-aroA,or both genes.Plants containing both gat and G2-aroA genes were the most glyphosate-tolerant.This study has shown that a combination of different strategies may result in higher tolerance in transgenic crops,providing a new approach for development of glyphosate-tolerant crops. | Baoqing Dun Xujing Wang Wei Lu Ming Chen Wei Zhang Shuzhen Ping Zhixing Wang Baoming Zhang Min Lin | 2014 | The Crop Journal2014,2,Z1: | 4 |
| 4 | Swelling and thermal properties of porous PNIPAM/PEG hydrogels prepared by radiation polymerization显示文摘In this study,a series of porous intelligent hydrogels were synthesized by radiation exhibiting the lower critical solution temperature(LCST) and fast response involving a combination of A’-isopropyl acrylamideas monomer, polyethylene glycol(PEG) as pore-forming agent and N,N-methylene-bis-acrylamide as crosslinking agent.The hydrogels were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,and the influence of radiation doses on their swelling and thermal behaviors were studied.Their surface morphologies were examined by scanning electron microscopy.The results showed that PEG molecules only acted as pore-forming agent in the cross-linked polymerization.Their swelling ratios reduced with increasing radiation doses.The LCST was around 37℃,and varied little with the radiation doses.The frozen water content of PNIPAM/PEG6000 hydrogel reduced with increasing the radiation dose,and was greater than that of PN1PAM hydrogel at 15 kGy.Hydrogel macropores were prepared by PEG agent,and the hydrogels without PEG had a dense surface.The porous hydrogels are expected to be applied in the field of artificial intelligence material. | LI Zhihui LIU Wentao LI Zhongyuan YANG Mingcheng GAO Xujing CUI Haitao HE Suqin ZHU Chengshen | 2013 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,2: | 3 |
| 5 | Effects of cultivation of Osr HSA transgenic rice on functional diversity of microbial communities in the soil rhizosphere显示文摘With the widespread cultivation of transgenic crops, there is increasing concern about unintended effects of these crops on soil environmental quality. In this study, we used the Biolog method and ELISA to evaluate the possible effects of Osr HSA transgenic rice on soil microbial utilization of carbon substrates under field conditions. There were no significant differences in average well-color development(AWCD) values, Shannon–Wiener diversity index(H), Simpson dominance indices(D) and Shannon–Wiener evenness indices(E) of microbial communities in rhizosphere soils at eight samplings between Osr HSA transgenic rice and its non-transgenic counterpart. The main carbon sources utilized by soil microbes were carbohydrates, carboxylic acids, amino acids and polymers. The types,capacities and patterns of carbon source utilization by microbial communities in rhizosphere soils were similar throughout the detection period. We detected no Osr HSA protein in the roots of Osr HSA transgenic rice. | 6 | The Forecasting and Warning System of Geological Disasters in China显示文摘Geological disasters such as landslide and mudslide can be caused by many factors. Collaborations among different governmental agencies and multi-disciplines are necessary to establish a forecasting and warning system of geological disasters (FWSGD). A FWSGD in China has been in operation since June 1, 2003 as a joint project between the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and the Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR). This system has successfully shown very good social and economic benefits. The temporal-spatial distribu- tions of China geological disasters and their causes have been analyzed in this paper. The FWSGD is described and its possible existing issues are also discussed. Authors suggest a new approach to study these disasters from interactions of the earth systems.
