| 2 | Insights into the formation of secondary organic carbon in the summertime in urban Shanghai显示文摘To investigate formation mechanisms of secondary organic carbon(SOC) in Eastern China,measurements were conducted in an urban site in Shanghai in the summer of 2015. A period of high O_3 concentrations(daily peak > 120 ppb) was observed, during which daily maximum SOC concentrations exceeding 9.0 μg/(C·m^3). Diurnal variations of SOC concentration and SOC/organic carbon(OC) ratio exhibited both daytime and nighttime peaks. The SOC concentrations correlated well with O_x(= O_3+ NO_2) and relative humidity in the daytime and nighttime, respectively, suggesting that secondary organic aerosol formation in Shanghai is driven by both photochemical production and aqueous phase reactions. Single particle mass spectrometry was used to examine the formation pathways of SOC. Along with the daytime increase of SOC, the number fraction of elemental carbon(EC) particles coated with OC quickly increased from 38.1% to 61.9% in the size range of 250–2000 nm, which was likely due to gas-to-particle partitioning of photochemically generated semi-volatile organic compounds onto EC particles. In the nighttime, particles rich in OC components were highly hygroscopic, and number fraction of these particles correlated well with relative humidity and SOC/OC nocturnal peaks. Meanwhile, as an aqueous-phase SOC tracer, particles that contained oxalate-Fe(III) complex also peaked at night. These observations suggested that aqueous-phase processes had an important contribution to the SOC nighttime formation. | 3 | Response of PM_(2.5)-bound elemental species to emission variations and associated health risk assessment during the COVID-19 pandemic in a coastal megacity显示文摘The coronavirus(COVID-19)pandemic is disrupting the world from many aspects.In this study,the impact of emission variations on PM_(2.5)-bound elemental species and health risks associated to inhalation exposure has been analyzed based on real-time measurements at a remote coastal site in Shanghai during the pandemic.Most trace elemental species decreased significantly and displayed almost no diel peaks during the lockdown.After the lockdown,they rebounded rapidly,of which V and Ni even exceeded the levels before the lockdown,suggesting the recovery of both inland and shipping activities.Five sources were identified based on receptor modeling.Coal combustion accounted for more than 70%of the measured elemental concentrations before and during the lockdown.Shipping emissions,fugitive/mineral dust,and waste incineration all showed elevated contributions after the lockdown.The total non-carcinogenic risk(HQ)for the target elements exceeded the risk threshold for both children and adults with chloride as the predominant species contributing to HQ.Whereas,the total carcinogenic risk(TR)for adults was above the acceptable level and much higher than that for children.Waste incineration was the largest contributor to HQ,while manufacture processing and coal combustion were the main sources of TR.Lockdown control measures were beneficial for lowering the carcinogenic risk while unexpectedly increased the non-carcinogenic risk.From the perspective of health effects,priorities of control measures should be given to waste incineration,manufacture processing,and coal combustion.A balanced way should be reached between both lowering the levels of air pollutants and their health risks. | Guochen Wang Kan Huang Qingyan Fu Jia Chen Juntao Huo Qianbiao Zhao Yusen Duan Yanfen Lin Fan Yang Wenjie Zhang Hao Li Jian Xu Xiaofei Qin Na Zhao Congrui Deng | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12: | 2 |
| 4 | Use of laser speckle contrast imaging to reveal changes in temperature and blood perfusion in the skin of healthy subjects after administration of heated moxa sticks and Daiwenjiu ointment显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the influence of heated moxa sticks( 'moxibustion') and Daiwenjiu ointment(DO) on changes in temperature and blood perfusion volume on the skin of the backs of healthy subjects.METHODS: DO was spread on the left side of the body, and the right side of the body was treated with a heated moxa stick. Images denoting blood perfusion and body temperature were collected 7-8 cm lateral to the spinous process of the sixth thoracic vertebra using laser speckle contrast imaging(LSCI). Data obtained from eight-frame images were analyzed and used to calculate the mean blood perfusion volume. Simultaneously,blood-perfusion images were collected from the body surface and used to compare the change in blood flow on the body surface and the actual position of imaging.RESULTS: After moxibustion, a rapid increase in blood perfusion volume and body temperature was noted in the local skin surface. The maximum blood perfusion volume and body temperature was noted at 20 min(P<0.05). At 80-110 min after the spreading of DO, a gradual increase was noted in blood perfusion volume(P<0.05) and body temperature(P<0.05) compared with the baseline level. | 7 | Emergence of superconductivity from fully incoherent normal state in an iron-based superconductor (Ba_(0.6)K_(0.4))Fe_2As_2显示文摘In unconventional superconductors, it is generally believed that understanding the physical properties of the normal state is a pre-requisite for understanding the superconductivity mechanism. In conventional superconductors like niobium or lead, the normal state is a Fermi liquid with a well-defined Fermi surface and well-defined quasipartcles along the Fermi surface. Superconductivity is realized in this case by the Fermi surface instability in the superconducting state and the formation and condensation of the electron pairs(Cooper pairing). The high temperature cuprate superconductors, on the other hand, represent another extreme case that superconductivity can be realized in the underdoped region where there is neither well-defined Fermi surface due to the pseudogap formation nor quasiparticles near the antinodal regions in the normal state. Here we report a novel scenario that superconductivity is realized in a system with well-defined Fermi surface but without quasiparticles along the Fermi surface in the normal state.High resolution laser-based angle-resolved photoemission measurements have been performed on an optimally-doped iron-based superconductor(Ba_(0.6)K_(0.4))Fe_2As_2. We find that, while sharp superconducting coherence peaks emerge in the superconducting state on the hole-like Fermi surface sheets, no quasiparticle peak is present in the normal state. Its electronic behaviours deviate strongly from a Fermi liquid system. The superconducting gap of such a system exhibits an unusual temperature dependence that it is nearly a constant in the superconducting state and abruptly closes at Tc. | 13 | Tauroursodeoxycholic acid(TUDCA)improves intestinal barrier function associated with TGR5-MLCK pathway and the alteration of serum metabolites and gut bacteria in weaned piglets显示文摘Background:Tauroursodeoxycholic acid(TUDCA),a hydrophilic bile acid,is the main medicinal component of bear bile and is commonly used to treat a variety of hepatobiliary diseases.Meanwhile,TUDCA has been shown to modulate the intestinal barrier function and alleviate DSS-induced colitis in mice.However,the effect of TUDCA on the intestinal barrier of weaned piglets remains largely unclear.Methods:The weaned piglets and porcine IPEC-J2 intestinal epithelial cells were used to investigate the effects of TUDCA on intestinal barrier function in weaned piglets and explore the possible underlying mechanisms.In vivo,72 healthy weaned piglets were randomly allocated into 2 groups according to their gender and body weight,and piglets were fed the basal diet with 0(control,CON)and 200 mg/kg TUDCA for 30 d,respectively.Three female and three male piglets reflecting the average bodyweight were slaughtered in each group and samples were collected.In vitro,IPEC-J2 cells were subjected to 100μmol/L TUDCA to explore the possible underlying mechanisms.Results:Our results demonstrated that dietary TUDCA supplementation significantly reduced the diarrhea incidence of weaned piglets,possibly attributing to the TUDCA-enhanced intestinal barrier function and immunity.In addition,TUDCA supplementation altered serum metabolites and the relative abundance of certain gut bacteria,which might contribute to the improved intestinal barrier function.Furthermore,the in-vitro results showed that TUDCA improved the E.coli-induced epithelial barrier impairment of IPEC-J2 cells and increased Takeda G-coupled protein receptor 5(TGR5)protein expression.However,knockdown of TGR5 and inhibition of myosin light chain kinase(MLCK)pathway abolished the TUDCA-improved epithelial barrier impairment in E.coli-treated IPEC-J2 cells,indicating the involvement of TGR5-MLCK in this process.Conclusions:These findings showed that TUDCA improved intestinal barrier function associated with TGR5-MLCK pathway and the alteration of serum metabolites and gut bacteria in weaned piglets,suggesting the potential application of TUDCA in improving gut health in piglet production. | Min Song Fenglin Zhang Yiming Fu Xin Yi Shengchun Feng Zhichang Liu Dun Deng Qiang Yang Miao Yu Canjun Zhu Xiaotong Zhu Lina Wang Ping Gao Gang Shu Xianyong Ma Qingyan Jiang Songbo Wang | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,6: | 1 |

| 19 | Astragaloside IV derivative HHQ16 ameliorates infarctioninduced hypertrophy and heart failure through degradation of lncRNA4012/9456显示文摘Reversing ventricular remodeling represents a promising treatment for the post-myocardial infarction(MI)heart failure(HF).Here,we report a novel small molecule HHQ16,an optimized derivative of astragaloside IV,which effectively reversed infarction-induced myocardial remodeling and improved cardiac function by directly acting on the cardiomyocyte to reverse hypertrophy.The effect of HHQ16 was associated with a strong inhibition of a newly discovered Egr2-affliated transcript Inc9456 in the heart.While minimally expressed in normal mouse heart,Inc9456 was dramatically upregulated in the heart subjected to left anterior descending coronary artery ligation(LADL)and in cardiomyocytes subjected to hypertrophic stimulation.The critical role of Inc9456 in cardiomyocyte hypertrophy was confirmed by specific overexpression and knockout in vitro.A physical interaction between Inc9456 and G3BP2 increased NF-kB nuclear translocation,triggering hypertrophy-related cascades.HHQ16 physically bound to Inc9456 with a high-affinity and induced its degradation.Cardiomyocyte-specific Inc9456 overexpression induced,but knockout prevented LADL-induced,cardiac hypertrophy and dysfunction.HHQ16 reversed the effect of Inc9456 overexpression while lost its protective role when Inc9456 was deleted,further confirming Inc9456 as the bona fide target of HHQ16.We further identified the human ortholog of Inc9456,also an Egr2-affliated transcript,Inc4012.Similarly,Inc4012 was significantly upregulated in hypertrophied failing hearts of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.HHQ16 also specifically bound to Inc4012 and caused its degradation and antagonized its hypertrophic effects.Targeted degradation of pathological increased Inc4012/lnc9456 by small molecules might serve as a novel promising strategy to regress infarction-induced cardiac hypertrophy and HF. | Jingjing Wan Zhen Zhang hennan Wu Saisai Tianbei Zang Ge Jin Qingyan Sun Pin Wang Xin Luan Yili Yang Xuelin Zhan Lingyu Linda Ye Dayue Darrel Duan Xia Liu Weidong Zhang | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,11: | 0 |
| 20 | Effect of Heat Treatment on the Microstructure,Mechanical Properties and Corrosion Resistance of Selective Laser Melted 304L Stainless Steel显示文摘The influence of heat treatment holding temperatures from 600 to 1300℃ on the microstructure,mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in selective laser melted(SLMed)304L stainless steel is investigated in this work.The results reveal that there is no remarkable microstructure change after holding at 600℃ for 2 h,while recrystallization leads to a slight decrease in grain size in the temperature range of 700–900℃.The heat treatment at temperatures from 1000 to 1300℃ for 2 h obviously affects the morphology of grains in SLMed 304L stainless steel.Combining effects of grain coarsening,delta-ferrite(δ)phases reduction and residual stress release during heat treatment lead to the reduction of yield strength and an increasing elongation.The elongation of the samples heat treated at 800℃ for 2 h is,however,significantly decreased due to the increase in the amount of sigma(σ)phase.A remarkable increase in the amount ofδferrite results in an increase in yield strength but a decrease in ductility after heat treatment at 1300℃ for 2 h.The corrosion resistance of the samples heat treated at 1300℃ is significantly improved due to the substantial reduction of brittle phase(σ).There is no obvious effect of the presence ofδferrite on corrosion behavior. | Fan Yang Daigen Zhu Menglei Jiang Hui Liu Shiri Guo Qingyan Wang Hui Wang Kai Zhang Aijun Huang Juan Hou | 2022 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,10: | 0 |
