| 2 | Research advances in the detection of miRNA显示文摘MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a family of endogenous, small (approximately 22 nucleotides in length), noncoding, functional RNAs. With the development of molecular biology, the research of miRNA biological function has attracted significant interest, as abnormal miRNA expression is identified to contribute to serious human diseases such as cancers. Traditional methods for miRNA detection do not meet current demands. In particular, nanomaterial-based methods, nucleic acid amplification-based methods such as rolling circle amplification (RCA), loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), strand-displacement amplification (SDA) and some enzyme-free amplifications have been employed widely for the highly sensitive detection of miRNA. MiRNA functional research and clinical diagnostics have been accelerated by these new techniques. Herein, we summarize and discuss the recent progress in the development of miRNA detection methods and new applications. | 3 | Provenance and tectonic setting transition as recorded in the Neoproterozoic strata, western Jiangnan Orogen:Implications for South China within Rodinia显示文摘The Neoproterozoic Tonian strata (ca.870-725 Ma) in the western Jiangnan Orogen archive the records of sedimentary provenance and tectonic setting which can be used to understand the geological evolution of the South China Continent.These strata are separated into the basement and cover sequences by a regional angular unconformity.The basement sequence can be subdivided into the lower and the upper parts by the widespread interbedded ca.840 Ma basalt with pillow structure.In the present work,234 concordant detrital zircon analyses are obtained from three Tonian sandstone samples in the Fanjingshan district,Guizhou Province.Combined with previous results,a total of 1736 analyses of detrital zircon U-Pb ages derived from 12 formations of Tonian strata in the western Jiangnan Orogen are used to decipher the integrated sedimentary and tectonic histories.The zircons from the lowermost part of the basement sequence (the Yujiagou Formation) show oval morphology and display two Paleoproterozoic age peaks at 2325 Ma and 1845 Ma which are similar with the detrital zircon age peaks from the Late Paleoproterozoic to Early Mesoproterozoic Dongchuan/Dahongshan/Hekou groups,suggesting a passive margin basin in which the sediments were mainly sourced from the southwestern Yangtze Block.However,the zircon age population of the lower part of the basement sequence (the Xiaojiahe,Huixiangping formations and their equivalents) indicates the sedimentary derivation from bidirectional sources (the ca.870 Ma arc materials in the south and the old detritus from the southwestern Yangtze Block) which is consistent with a back arc setting for the deposition of the sediments.Zircons from the upper part of the basement sequence (the Duyantang Formation and its equivalent) show euhedral and subangular morphology and display a unimodal age peak at ca.835 Ma.This sequence was possibly deposited in a convergent setting and the detritus were came from the locally distributed syn-collisional igneous rocks.The lower part of the cover sequence (the Xinzhai and Wuye formations and their equivalents) shows a distinct zircon age peak at 815-809 Ma and two subordinate peaks at 2485 Ma and 2018 Ma,suggesting that the basin had gradually transformed into a continental rift basin and received the detritus from the ca.815 Ma post-collisional magmatic rocks as well as from different Paleoproterozoic source rocks in the northern Yangtze Block.We propose a tectonic evolution model that envisages eruption of ca.840 Ma basalt in a back arc basin that existed during ca.870-835 Ma,an angular unconformity was formed during amalgamation of the Yangtze Block and the Cathaysia Block at ca.835-820 Ma and the rifting of the South China Continent was initiated at ca.800 Ma.Our study concludes that the South China Continent was formed on the periphery of the Rodinia supercontinent. | Jiawei Zhang Taiping Ye Yaran Dai Jianshu Chen Hui Zhang Chuangu Dai Guohua Yuan Kaiyuan Jiang | 2019 | Geoscience Frontiers2019,10,5: | 4 |
| 4 | City-specific vehicle emission control strategies to achieve stringent emission reduction targets in China's Yangtze River Delta region显示文摘The Yangtze River Delta(YRD) region is one of the most prosperous and densely populated regions in China and is facing tremendous pressure to mitigate vehicle emissions and improve air quality.Our assessment has revealed that mitigating vehicle emissions of NOx would be more difficult than reducing the emissions of other major vehicular pollutants(e.g.,CO,HC and PM_(2.5)) in the YRD region.Even in Shanghai,where the emission control implemented are more stringent than in Jiangsu and Zhejiang,we observed little to no reduction in NOx emissions from 2000 to 2010.Emission-reduction targets for HC,NOx and PM_(2.5) are determined using a response surface modeling tool for better air quality.We design city-specific emission control strategies for three vehicle-populated cities in the YRD region:Shanghai and Nanjing and Wuxi in Jiangsu.Our results indicate that even if stringent emission control consisting of the Euro 6/VI standards,the limitation of vehicle population and usage,and the scrappage of older vehicles is applied,Nanjing and Wuxi will not be able to meet the NOx emissions target by 2020.Therefore,additional control measures are proposed for Nanjing and Wuxi to further mitigate NOx emissions from heavy-duty diesel vehicles. | Shaojun Zhang Ye Wu Bin Zhao Xiaomeng Wu Jiawei Shu Jiming Hao | 2017 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1: | 4 |
| 5 | Regional Equity and Influencing Factor of Social Assistance in China显示文摘Social assistance is the last safety net in the social security system and plays a vital role in poverty alleviation in countries around the world. Promoting the equal financial assistance is meaningful to achieve equalization of social assistance. Based on the provincial panel data from 2002 to 2017, this paper analyzes the dynamic characteristics and main influencing factors of the equity of social assistance in China, using the Theil index and geographically weighted regression(GWR) model. The results suggest that the level of per capita social assistance expenditure(PSAE) in China keeps increasing year by year, but the changes in different regions and provinces are quite different. These changes not only significantly changed the spatial pattern of PSAE in China, but also greatly improved its spatial coupling with the deeply impoverished areas. Further analysis shows that the regional inequality of PSAE between provinces is obvious during the study period, and the inter-regional inequality is significantly higher than the intra-regional inequality.This makes inter-regional inequality become the main source of the regional inequality of PSAE in China for a long time. According to GWR results, there is obvious spatiotemporal heterogeneity in the influence intensity and direction of the per capita financial revenue,urbanization rate, urban unemployment rate, natural disaster-affected area, and transfer payment intensity on the PSAE. The urbanization rate and per capita financial revenue are the main driving factors of PSAE, and the impact intensity of per capita financial revenue tends to strengthen. | 8 | Integrated bioinformatics identifies the dysregulation induced by aberrant gene methylation in colorectal carcinoma显示文摘Colorectal carcinoma(CRC)is one of the most common cancers,and is associated with a poor dlinical outcome.The key genes and potential prognostic markers in colorectal carcinoma remain to be identfed and explored for clinical application.DNA expression/methyl-ation profles were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)database to identify differentially expressed/methylated genes(DEGs and DEMs).A total of 255 genes and 372 genes were identified as being up-regulated and down-regulated,respectively,in GSE113513,GSE81558,and GSE89076.There were a total of 3350 hypermethylated genes and 443 hypomethylated genes identifed in GSE 48684.Twenty genes were found to be hypermethylated as well as down-regulated,and a functional enrichment analysis revealed that these genes were mainly involved in cancer-related pathways.Among these 20 genes,GPM6A,HAND2 and C2orf40 were related to poor outcomes in cancer patients based on a survival analysis.Concurrent decreases of GPM6A,HAND2 and C2orf40 protein expression were observed in highly-dif ferentiated colorectal carcinoma tissues,and higher expression levels were found in undifferentiated or minimally-differentiated colorectal carcinoma tissues.In conclusion,20 genes were found to be downregulated and hypermethylated in CRC,among which GPM6A,HAND2 and C2orf40 were explored for their potential prognostic value. | Zhenyu Ye Yecheng Li Jiaming Xie Zhenyu Feng Xiaodong Yang Yong Wu Yuwei Pu Jiawei Gao Xiangrong Xu Zhaobi Zhu Wei Li Wei Chen Chungen Xing | 2021 | Genes & Diseases2021,8,4: | 2 |
| 9 | A feedback latching controller for two-body wave energy converters under irregular wave conditions显示文摘Latching control is considered to be an effective way to improve the energy absorption of a wave energy converter(WEC).Recently, a latching control method was realized in a hydraulic power take-off(PTO) system and was demonstrated to be effective in one-body WECs. However, the effectiveness of latching control for two-body WECs still needs to be tested. In this paper, a feedback latching controller is proposed for a conceptual two-body WEC. In this conceptual design, a permanent-magnet linear generator(PMLG) is adopted as the PTO system, and a pure water hydraulic cylinder system is designed for performing the latching control. A feedback control strategy based on the measurement of latching force is established, formulated and tested numerically under realistic irregular wave conditions. The effects of the wave peak period and the PTO damping coefficient on the effectiveness of the latching control is also investigated. The results indicate that the proposed feedback latching control is effective for improving the annual power absorption of the two-body WEC. | 19 | The historical logics and geographical patterns of rural-urban governance in China显示文摘The advent of a mobile society has led to profound changes in China’s traditional rural-urban pattern and called for new strategies for urban and rural governance.Based on a macro perspective of temporal and spatial evolution,this study analyzes the historical logics of rural-urban governance,explores the geographical patterns of challenges in China’s rural-urban governance,and finally puts forward targeted strategies for rural-urban governance toward integrated and sustainable development in China.From the historical perspective,the urban originates from the rural,and the connotation of rural,that is,a regional-scale outlook,rural-urban relations,and sociocultural interaction,forms the traditional approach to rural-urban governance.China’s rural-urban governance has evolved from antagonism toward integration.In terms of theoretical development,the turn toward mobility is an important driving factor shaping and promoting the transformation of research focus on rural-urban governance.The mobility of urban and rural factors has especially in recent decades brought extensive challenges for governance,which are highlighted by the disintegration of the stability of rural and urban structures,growing regional disparities in rural education levels,and serious aging and hollowing crises in rural areas.We therefore propose that rural-urban governance should give sufficient consideration to the convergence of wider interests;realize social potential through institutional,cultural and spatial restructuring;and attach importance to collaborative development and governance.And the transfer of rural problems to urban areas should be paid attention to by rural-urban governance.This research enriches the knowledge regarding the logics and patterns of China’s rural-urban governance from an interdisciplinary perspective.It is also helpful in the promotion of rural-urban integration and sustainable development,especially at a time when the mobility of social factors between rural areas and urban areas increasingly challenges traditional urban and rural governance and drives its evolution. | YE Chao PAN Jiawei LIU Zhimin | 2022 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2022,32,7: | 1 |
| 20 | Genesis of fahlore in the Tianbaoshan lead–zinc deposit, Sichuan Province, China: a scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive spectroscopy study显示文摘The Tianbaoshan deposit, located in the southwestern part of the Yangtze Block, is a representative Pb–Zn deposit in the Sichuan–Yunnan–Guizhou Pb–Zn metallogenic province. The Pb–Zn orebodies are hosted in the upper Sinian Dengying Formation dolostone. The predominant minerals are sphalerite, galena, pyrite, chalcopyrite, quartz, and calcite with minor arsenopyrite,fahlore, and dolomite. The deposit is characterized by relatively strong Cu mineralization. However, the relationship between Pb–Zn and Cu mineralization is unknown. We analyzed the mineralogy and composition of fahlore, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, sphalerite, and galena using scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive spectroscopy, with the aim of providing new evidence for the genesis of the Pb–Zn–(Cu) ore. The results show that the Cu ore in the deposit is dominated by chalcopyrite and fahlore, both of which formed before or during the Pb–Zn ore-forming stage. The fahlore showed dramatic compositional variation and was characterized by negative correlations between Ag and Cu, and between As and Sb,suggesting substitution of Ag for Cu, and that As and Sb substitute in the same site in the fahlore lattice. Based on backscattered electron images and composition, the fahlorewas divided into two types. Type I fahlore crystallized early and is characterized by enrichment of Cu and depletion in Ag and Sb. Type II fahlore formed after Type I, and is rich in Ag and poor in Cu and As. Moreover,galena and fahlore are the host minerals of Ag. The variation of valence state with As host mineral—from fahlore to arsenopyrite—indicates the metallogenic environment changed from relatively oxidizing to reducing with a high p H. In the light of Gibbs energies of reciprocal reactions and isotherms for cation exchange, the composition of the fahlore implies its ore-forming temperature was lower than220 °C, corresponding with typical Mississippi Valley-type(MVT) deposits.
