| 1 | The soil configuration on granite residuals affects Benggang erosion by altering the soil water regime on the slope显示文摘A permanent collapsing gully,locally called Benggang,formed on slopes with deep granite red soil and is a type of unique gully erosion widely prevalent in southern China.Three different soil configurations(SC),ie,red-transition-sandy(SC I,the transition is the soil layer between the red soil and the sandy soil layer),transition-sandy(SC II)or sandy(SC III)are usually present in the soil profile of the Benggang slope.However,little attention has been paid to impacts of SCs on the triggering of Benggang erosion.In this study,we aimed to explore the relationships between soil water content(SWC)and triggering of Benggang erosion under different SC conditions.The soil properties of different soil layers were measured and the SWC at depths of 20,40,60,and 80 cm were monitored at 5-min intervals along a typical Benggang(SC I)during 2016-2018.The SWC of Benggang slopes with different SCs were simulated by VADOSE/W model.Results showed that the red soil layer had a higher water retention capacity and shear strength than the sandy soil layer.Even if the SWC is higher(e.g.,0.42 cm^(3)/cm^(3))at red soil layer or transition layer,the corresponding shear strength is greater than that of sandy soil layer with a lower SWC(e.g.,032 cm^(3)/cm^(3)).Relationships between shear strength and SWC of different soil layers indicate that Benggang erosion is triggered by an increase in the SWC in the deep sandy layer.Results also showed that differences exist in the SWC distribution among the different SCs.The SWC is higher in topsoil than in deeper soil in SC I and SC II,while in SC III,the opposite trend is observed.These results revealed that the presence of the red soil or transition layer can reduce the infiltration of rainwater into the deep sandy layer,thus can reduce the possibility of collapse.Our results show that the SC affects the stability of the headwall,and results provide great significances to guide the mitigation of Benggang erosion. | Xiaoqian Duan Yusong Deng Yu Tao Yangbo He Lirong Lin Jiazhou Chen | 2021 | International Soil and Water Conservation Research2021,9,3: | 4 |
| 2 | Spatial variability of soil organic carbon and total nitrogen in the hilly red soil region of Southern China显示文摘To obtain accurate spatial distribution maps of soil organic carbon(SOC)and total nitrogen(TN)in the Hetian Town in Fujian Province,China,soil samples from three depths(0–20,20–40,and 40–60 cm)at 59 sampling sites were sampled by using traditional analysis and geostatistical approach.The SOC and TN ranged from 2.26 to 47.54 g kg-1,and from 0.28 to 2.71 g kg-1,respectively.The coefficient of variation for SOC and TN was moderate at 49.02–55.87%for all depths.According to the nuggetto-sill ratio values,a moderate spatial dependence of SOC content and a strong spatial dependence of TN content were found in different soil depths,demonstrating that SOC content was affected by both extrinsic and intrinsic factors while TN content was mainly influenced by intrinsic factors.Indices of cross-validation,such as mean error,mean standardized error,were close to zero,indicating that ordinary kriging interpolation is a reliable method to predict the spatial distribution of SOC and TN in different soil depths.Interpolation using ordinary kriging indicated the spatial pattern of SOC and TN were characterized by higher in the periphery and lower in the middle.To improve the accuracy of spatial interpolation for soil properties,it is necessary and important to incorporate a probabilistic and machine learning methods in the future study. | Xiong Yao Kunyong Yu Yangbo Deng Jian Liu Zhuangjie Lai | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,6: | 2 |

| 10 | Dynamic synchronous motion accuracy measurement and estimation for a five-axis mirror milling system显示文摘A mirror milling system(MMS)comprises two face-to-face five-axis machine tools,one for the cutting spindle and the other for the support tool.Since it is essential to maintain the cutter and support coaxial during the cutting process,synchronous motion accuracy is the key index of the MMS.This paper proposed a novel method for measuring and estimating the synchronous motion accuracy of the dual five-axis machine tools.The method simultaneously detects errors in the tool center point(TCP)and tool axis direction(TAD)during synchronous motion.To implement the suggested method,a measurement device,with five high-precision displacement sensors was developed.A kinematic model was then developed to estimate the synchronous motion accuracy from the displacement sensor output.The screw theory was used to obtain the analytical expression of the inverse kinematic model,and the synchronous motion error was compensated and adjusted based on the inverse kinematic model of the dual five-axis machine tools.TCP and TAD quasi-static errors,such as geometric and backlash errors,were first compensated.By adjusting the servo parameters,the dynamic TCP and TAD errors,such as gain mismatch and reversal spike,were also reduced.The proposed method and device were tested in a large MMS,and the measured quasi-static and dynamic errors were all reduced when the compensation and adjustment method was used.Monte Carlo simulations were also used to estimate the uncertainty of the proposed scheme. | XU Kun TANG XinYu BI QingZhen YU YangBo QIAN DeHou JI YuLei | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,3: | 0 |

| 12 | Spatial variability of soil chemical properties of Moso bamboo forests of China显示文摘This study investigates the spatial variability of soil organic matter(SOM),soil organic carbon(SOC)and pH in the upper 20-cm layer and 20-40 cm layer in Moso bamboo(Phyllostachys pubescens Pradelle)forests using a geostatistics model.Interpolation maps of SOM,SOC,and pH were developed using ordinary kriging(OK)and inverse distance weighted(IDW)methods.The pH,SOC,and SOM of the two soil layers ranged from 4.6 to 4.7,from 1.5 to 2.7 g kg^(-1)and from 20.3 to 22.4 g kg^(-1),respectively.The coefficient of variation for SOM and SOC was 29.9-43.3%while a weak variability was found for pH.Gaussian and exponential models performed well in describing the spatial variability of SOC contents with R^(2)varying from 0.95 to 0.90.The nugget/sill values of pH are less than 25%,which indicates a strong spatial correlation,while the nugget/sill values of SOC and SOM fall under moderate spatial correlation.Interpolation using ordinary kriging and inverse distance weighted methods revealed that the spatial distribution of SOM,SOC,and pH was inconsistent due to external and internal factors across the plots.Regarding the cross-validation results,the ordinary kriging method performed better than inverse distance weighted method for selected soil properties.This study suggests that the spatial variability of soil chemical properties revealed by geostatistics modeling will help decision-makers improve the management of soil properties. | Regassa Terefe Kun-yong Yu Yangbo Deng Xiong Yao Fan Wang Jian Liu | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6: | 0 |
| 13 | Effect of layer thickness and voxel size inversion on leaf area density based on the voxel-based canopy profiling method显示文摘Voxel-based canopy profiling is commonly used to determine small-scale leaf area.Layer thickness and voxel size impact accuracy when using this method.Here,we determined the optimal combination of layer thickness and voxel size to estimate leaf area density accurately.Terrestrial LiDAR Stonex X300 was used to generate point cloud data for Masson pines(Pinus massoniana).The canopy layer was stratified into 0.10-1.00-m-thick layers,while voxel size was 0.01-0.10 m.The leaf area density of individual trees was estimated using leaf area indices for the upper,middle,and lower canopy and the overall canopy.The true leaf area index,obtained by layered harvesting,was used to verify the inversion results.Leaf area density was inverted by nine combinations of layer thickness and voxel size.The average relative accuracy and mean estimated accuracy of these combined inversion results exceeded 80%.When layer thickness was 1.00 m and voxel size 0.05 m,inversion was closest to the true value.The average relative accuracy was 92.58%,mean estimated accuracy 98.00%,and root mean square error 0.17.The combination of leaf area density and index was accurately retrieved.In conclusion,nondestructive voxel-based canopy profiling proved suitable for inverting the leaf area density of Masson pine in Hetian Town,Fujian Province. | Yan Chen Jian Liu Xiong Yao Yangbo Deng Zhenbang Hao Lingchen Lin Nankun Wu Kunyong Yu | 2022 | Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,5: | 0 |
| 14 | Systematic Analysis of 42 Autographa Californica Multiple Nucleopolyhedrovirus Genes Identifies An Additional Six Genes Involved in the Production of Infectious Budded Virus显示文摘Baculoviruses have been widely used as a vector for expressing foreign genes.Among numerous baculoviruses,Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus(AcMNPV)is the most frequently used and it encodes 155 open reading frames(ORFs).Here,we systematically investigated the impact of 42 genes of AcMNPV on the production of infectious budded viruses(BVs)by constructing gene-knockout bacmids and subsequently conducting transfection and infection assays.The results showed that among the 39 functionally unverified genes and 3 recently reported genes,36 are dispensable for infectious BV production,as the one-step growth curves of the gene-knockout viruses were not significantly different from those of the parental virus.Three genes(ac62,ac82 and ac106/107)are essential for infectious BV production,as deletions thereof resulted in complete loss of infectivity while the repaired viruses showed no significant difference in comparison to the parental virus.In addition,three genes(ac13,ac51 and ac120)are important but not essential for infectious BV production,as gene-knockout viruses produced significantly lower BV levels than that of the parental virus or repaired viruses.We then grouped the 155 AcMNPV genes into three categories(Dispensable,Essential,or Important for infectious BV production).Based on our results and previous publications,we constructed a schematic diagram of a potential mini-genome of AcMNPV,which contains only essential and important genes.The results shed light on our understanding of functional genomics of baculoviruses and provide fundamental information for future engineering of baculovirus expression system. | Tong Chen Xiaoyan Duan Hengrui Hu Yu Shang Yangbo Hu Fei Deng Hualin Wang Manli Wang Zhihong Hu | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,4: | 0 |
