| 5 | Gasless laparoscopy for benign gynecological diseases using an abdominal wall-lifting system显示文摘Objectives: The use of gasless laparoscopy with an abdominal wall-lifting device for benign gynecological diseases was compared to conventional laparoscopy with CO2 pneumoperitoneum. Methods: From February 2007 to July 2007,76 women with uterine and/or adnexal benign diseases and candidates for laparoscopic surgery were recruited in this study. Thirty-two women underwent gasless laparoscopic surgery and 44 women underwent pneumoperitoneum laparoscopic surgery. Results: Diverse pathologies,including adnexal cyst,uterine myoma and ectopic pregnancy,were treated successfully with gasless laparoscopic surgery. Compared with the patients in the pneumoperitoneum group,the similar hospital stay (P=0.353) and intraoperative blood loss (P=0.157) were observed. However,the mean operative time in the gasless group was significantly longer than that in the pneumoperitoneum group (P=0.003). No severe intraoperative or postoperative complications were found in either group,except for one case of laparotomic conversion in the pneumoperitoneum group due to dense pelvic adhesions. The total hospital charges were significantly less in the gasless group than in the pneumoperitoneum group (P=0.001). In 38 cases of ovarian cyst resection,the mean operative time in the gasless group remained longer than that in the pneumoperitoneum group (P=0.017). The total hospital charges were also significantly less in the gasless group than in the pneumoperitoneum group (P<0.001). Conclusion: Our preliminary results demonstrated that the laparoscopic procedure using the gasless technique was a safe,effective method to treat benign gynecological diseases. Moreover,it was easy to master. | 7 | Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). | 9 | Dissecting human embryonic skeletal stem cell ontogeny by single-cell transcriptomic and functional analyses显示文摘Human skeletal stem cells(SSCs)have been discovered in fetal and adult long bones.However,the spatiotemporal ontogeny of human embryonic SSCs during early skeletogenesis remains elusive.Here we map the transcriptional landscape of human limb buds and embryonic long bones at single-cell resolution to address this fundamental question.We found remarkable heterogeneity within human limb bud mesenchyme and epithelium,and aligned them along the proximal-distal and anterior-posterior axes using known marker genes.Osteo-chondrogenic progenitors first appeared in the core limb bud mesenchyme,which give rise to multiple populations of stem/progenitor cells in embryonic long bones undergoing endochondral ossification.Importantly,a perichondrial embryonic skeletal stem/progenitor cell(eSSPC)subset was identified,which could self-renew and generate the osteochondral lineage cells,but not adipocytes or hematopoietic stroma.eSSPCs are marked by the adhesion molecule CADM1 and highly enriched with FOXP1/2 transcriptional network.Interestingly,neural crest-derived cells with similar phenotypic markers and transcriptional networks were also found in the sagittal suture of human embryonic calvaria.Taken together,this study revealed the cellular heterogeneity and lineage hierarchy during human embryonic skeletogenesis,and identified distinct skeletal stem/progenitor cells that orchestrate endochondral and intramembranous ossification. | Jian He Jing Yan Jianfang Wang Liangyu Zhao Qian Xin Yang Zeng Yuxi Sun Han Zhang Zhijie Bai Zongcheng Li Yanli Ni Yandong Gong Yunqiao Li Han He Zhilei Bian Yu Lan Chunyu Ma Lihong Bian Heng Zhu Bing Liu Rui Yue | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,7: | 5 |
| 10 | Phthalonitrile Resins Derived from Vanillin: Synthesis, Curing Behavior, and Thermal Properties显示文摘Vanillin was used as sustainable source for phthalonitrile monomer synthesis, and allyl/propargyl ether moieties were introduced to improve the processability at the minimal cost of thermal properties. The synthesis route was optimized to minimize side-reactions and simplify post-processing, and the monomers were obtained in high purity and good yields. The curing behavior, mechanism, and processability of the monomers were studied, and the thermal properties of cured polymers were evaluated. Of the two monomers, the allyl ether-containing one exhibited a wide processing window of 185 °C, and was mainly cured into phthalocyanine and linear aliphatic structures through self-catalytic curing process. Also, the glass transition temperature was higher than 500 °C. In contrast, the propargyl ether-containing monomer could only be partially cured, and heat resistance was found to be compromised. | 11 | Melatonin Treatment Enhances the Polyphenol Content and Antioxidant Capacity of Red Wine显示文摘Melatonin and polyphenols are strong antioxidants, and melatonin is also a potential plant growth regulator. The role of melatonin in regulating polyphenol metabolism is unclear. This study assessed the primary impacts of exogenous melatonin treatment on phenolics accumulation and antioxidant capacity of the 'Moldova' wine. It was found that two times of 100 μmol·L^(-1) melatonin treatment clearly enhanced the endogenous melatonin content of ripened berries and wine. Further experiments indicated that melatonin treatment significantly increased the contents of total phenols, flavonoids and anthocyanins in wine. Additionally, the contents of most of the 20 detected individual phenolic compounds were significantly enhanced by melatonin treatment in wine. Particularly, the content of two non-flavonoid phenolic compounds(syringic and coumaric acid) and four anthocyanin compounds [Mv-3-Glu, Mv-3-(6-Coum)Glu-5-Glu, Dp-3-(6-AC)Glu and Dp-3-(6-Coum)Glu-5-Glu]were largely increased by melatonin treatment. In contrast, only Pn-3-(6-Coum)Glu was significantly reduced. Moreover, melatonin treatment significantly enhanced the antioxidant capacity of wine indicated by DPPH and FRAP assays.
