A green method to synthesize flowerlike Fe(OH)3 microspheres for enhanced adsorption performance toward organic and heavy metal pollutants显示文摘Dyestuffs and heavy metal ions in water are seriously harmful to the ecological environment and human health.Three-dimensional(3 D) flowerlike Fe(OH)_3 microspheres were synthesized through a green yet low-cost injection method, for the removal of organic dyes and heavy metal ions. The Fe(OH)_3 microspheres were characterized by thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) techniques. The adsorption kinetics of Congo Red(CR) on Fe(OH)_3 microspheres obeyed the pseudo-second-order model.Cr^(6+) and Pb^(2+) adsorption behaviors on Fe(OH)_3 microspheres followed the Langmuir isotherm model. The maximum adsorption capacities of the synthesized Fe(OH)_3 were 308,52.94,and 75.64 mg/g for CR,Cr^(6+),and Pb^(2+) respectively. The enhanced adsorption performance originated from its surface properties and large specific surface area of 250 m^2/g.The microspheres also have excellent adsorption stability and recyclability.Another merit of the Fe(OH)_3 material is that it also acts as a Fenton-like catalyst. These twin functionalities(both as adsorbent and Fenton-like catalyst) give the synthesized Fe(OH)_3 microspheres great potential in the field of water treatment.Xiaole Zhao Yingehun Su Shubin Li Yajun Bi Xiaojun Han 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,11:7
IL-17A-dependent gut microbiota is essential for regulating diet-induced disorders in mice显示文摘The gut microbiota plays a key role in obesity and related metabolic disorders, and multiple factors including diet, host genotype, and age regulate it. Many studies have examined the contribution of extrinsic factors to the regulation of the gut microbiota, but the importance of the host genetic constitution cannot be ignored. Interleukin 17A(IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, is important in the defense against infection and diseases. Here, we investigated the association among IL-17, a high-fat diet(HFD), and the gut microbiota. Mice deficient in IL-17A were resistant to diet-induced obesity and related diseases. Compared with the Ⅱ-17^(-/-)mice, wild-type(WT) mice challenged with HFD showed obvious weight fluctuations, such as those seen in type 2 diabetes, and hematological changes similar to those associated with metabolic syndrome. However, housing WT mice and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice together significantly alleviated these symptoms in the WT mice. A metagenomic analysis of the mouse feces indicated that the microbial community compositions of these two groups differed before HFD feeding. The HFD mediated shifts in the gut microbial compositions, which were associated with the mouse phenotypes. We also identified potentially beneficial and harmful species present during this period, and drew networks of the most abundant species. A functional analysis indicated pathway changes in the WT and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice when fed the HFD. Collectively, these data underscore the importance of the host factor IL-17 A in shaping and regulating the gut microbiota, which conversely, influences the host health.Yujing Bi Chunxiao Li Lin Liu Jiyuan Zhou Zhengchao Li Huimin Deng Chunyan Wu Yanping Han Yajun Song Yafang Tan Xiaoyi Wang Zongmin Du Yujun Cui Yanfeng Yan Fachao Zhi Guangwei Liu Nan Qin Heping Zhang Ruifu Yang 2017Science Bulletin2017,62,15:5
Transcriptomic Response to Yersinia pestis:RIG-I Like Receptor Signaling Response Is Detrimental to the Host against Plague显示文摘Bacterial pathogens have evolved various mechanisms to modulate host immune responses for successful infection. In this study,RNAsequencing technology was used to analyze the responses of human monocytes THP1 to Yersinia pestis infection.Over 6000 genes were differentially expressed over the 12 h infection.Kinetic responses of pathogen recognition receptor signaling pathways, apoptosis, antigen processing, and presentation pathway and coagulation system were analyzed in detail.Among them,RIG-I-like receptor(RLR) signaling pathway, which was established for antiviral defense, was significantly affected.Mice lacking MAVS,the adaptor of the RLR signahng pathway, were less sensitive to infection and exhibited lower IFN-P production, higher Thl-type cytokines IFN-y and IL-12 production, and lower Th2-type cytokines EL-4 and IL-13 production in the serum compared with wild-type mice. Moreover, infection of pathogenic bacteria other than Y.pestis also altered the expression of the RLR pathway, suggesting that the response of RLR pathway to bacterial infection is a universal mechanism.Zongmin Du Huiying Yang Yafang Tan Guang Tian Qingwen Zhang Yujun Cui Yanfeng Yan Xiaohong Wu Zuyun Chen Shiyang Cao Yujing Bi Yanping Han Xiaoyi Wang Yajun Song Ruifu Yan 2014Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,7:2
Experimental Investigations on Boiling Heat Transfer Inside Miniature Circular Tubes Immersed in FC-72显示文摘To investigate the size effect on the characteristics of boiling heat transfer, boiling behavior of FC-72 in heated vertical miniature circular tubes immersed in a liquid pool was experimentally studied. Two AISI 304 stainless steel tubes with inner diameters of 1.10 mm and 1.55 mm correspondingly, were heated by swirled Ni-Cr wire heaters and sealed in Lucite blocks by silicon adhesive. Both the top and the bottom ends of the circular test sections were open to the liquid pool. The boiling curves and heat transfer coefficients were obtained experimentally. The boiling behaviors at the outlets of the miniature tubes were also visualized with a digital video camera. Experimental results show that the tube geometry has a significant effect on the boiling characteristics. Vapor blocking at the outlet of the smaller circular tube with a diameter of 1.10 mm caused severe boiling hysteresis phenomena. The CHF decreased with reducing in tube size.Qincheng Bi Tianshou Zhao Yajun Guo Tingkuan Chen 2002Journal of Thermal Science2002,11,4:1

Systematic screening and structural characterization of dipeptides using offline 2D LC-LTQ-Orbitrap MS:A case study of Cordyceps sinensis显示文摘Cordyceps sinensis(C.sinensis)is a widely used and highly valuable traditional Chinese medicine.Several dipeptides have been detected in C.sinensis, but current scientific knowledge of its chemical makeup remains limited. In this study,an improved approach that integrates offline two-dimensional liquid chromatography(2D LC)separation, precursor ion list, library screening, and diagnostic ion filtering was established to systematically screen and characterize dipeptides in C.sinensis.Offline 2D LC integrating hydrophilic interaction LC and reverse phase separations was established to eliminate interference and identify the target dipeptides.A library containing the potential 400 dipeptides was created, and a precursor ion list with all theoretical precursor ions was adopted to trigger the MS/MS scan with high sensitivity. To identify dipeptides, the type and connection sequence of amino acids were determined according to the product ions.Ile and Leu residues were differentiated for the first time according to the characteristic ion at m/z 69.07.Ultimately,170 dipeptides were identified or tentatively characterized from C.sinensis, and most are reported for the first time in this species herein. In addition, the identified dipeptides were also applied for discrimination among the three Cordyceps species, and 11 markers were identified. The obtained results provide a deeper understanding of the chemical basis of C.sinensis.Xiaodie Li Changliang Yao Yun Li Zhengming Qian c Wenlong Wei Jianqing Zhang Jiayuan Li Qirui Bi Wenjia Li Yajun Cui De-an Guo 2022Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2022,12,2:0
