| 1 | Prevalence and trends of aminoglycoside resistance in Shigella worldwide, 1999-2010显示文摘Shigellosis causes diarrheal disease in humans in both developed and developing countries, and multi-drug resistance in Shigella is an emerging problem. Understanding changing resistance patterns is important in determining appropriate antibiotic treatments. This meta-analysis systematically evaluated aminoglycoside resist-ance in Shigella. A systematic review was constructed based on MEDLINE and EMBASE databases. Randomeffect models or fixed-effect models were used based on P value considering the possibility of heterogeneity between studies for meta-analysis. Data manipulation and statistical analyses were performed using software STATA 11.0. By means of meta-analysis, we found a lower resistance to three kinds of aminoglycosides in the Europe-America areas during the 12 year study period than that of the Asia-Africa areas. Kanamycin resistance was observed to be the most common drug resistance among Shigella isolates with a prevalence of 6.88% (95%CI: 6.36%-7.43%). Comparison of data from Europe-America and Asia-Africa areas revealed that Shigella flexneri resistance was greater than the resistance calculated for Shigella sonnei. Importantly,Shigella sonnei has played a significant role in aminoglycoside-resistance in recent years. Similarly, data showed that resistance to these drugs in children was higher than the corresponding data of adults. In conclusion, aminoglycoside-resistant Shigella is not an unusual phenomenon worldwide. Distribution in Shigella resistance differs sharply based on geographic areas, periods of time and subtypes. | 3 | Activation of calcium-sensing receptors is associated with apoptosis in a model of simulated cardiomyocytes ischemia/reperfusion显示文摘Objective:Calcium-sensing receptors(CaSRs)are G-protein coupled receptors which maintain systemic calcium homeostasis and participate in hormone secretion,activation of ion channels,cell apoptosis,proliferation,and differentiation.Previous studies have shown that CaSRs induce apoptosis in isolated adult rat heart and in normal neonatal rat cardiomyocytes by G-protein-PLC-IP 3 signaling transduction.However,little knowledge is presently available concerning the role of CaSRs in the apoptosis induced by ischemia and reperfusion in neonatal cardiomyocytes.Methods:Primary neonatal rat ventricular cardiomyocytes were incubated in ischemiamimetic solution for 2 h,and then re-incubated in normal culture medium for 24 h to establish a model of simu- lated ischemia/reperfusion(I/R).Cardiomyocyte apoptosis was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL).The expression of CaSRs mRNA was detected by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).In addition,the expressions of caspase-3 and Bcl-2 were analyzed by western blot.Results:The simulated I/R enhanced the expression of CaSRs and cardiomyocyte apopto- sis.GdCl 3 ,a specific activator of CaSRs,further increased the expression of CaSRs and cardiomyocyte apoptosis, along with up-regulation of caspase-3 and down-regulation of Bcl-2.Conclusion:CaSRs are associated with I/R injury and apoptosis in neonatal rat ventricular cardiomyocytes via suppressing Bcl-2 and promoting caspase-3 expression. | Ling Yan Tlebing Zhu Tingting Sun Liansheng Wang Shiyang Pan Zhengxlan Tao Zhijian Yang Kejiang Cao | 2010 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2010,24,4: | 2 |

| 9 | Mo-based perpendicularly magnetized thin films with low damping for fast and low-power consumption magnetic memory显示文摘Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy-based magnetic tunnel junctions(p-MTJs) with low Gilbert damping constant(α) are of particular interest for fast and low-power consumption magnetic random-access memory(MRAM). However, obtaining a faster switching speed and lower power consumption is still a big challenge. Herein, we report a Mo-based perpendicular double free layer structure with a low Gilbert damping constant of 0.02 relative to W-based films, as measured by time-resolved magnetooptical Kerr effect equipment. To show the influence of different film structures on the Gilbert damping constant, we measured the Mo-based single free layer. Thereafter, we deposited the full stacks with the Mo-based double free layer and obtained a high tunneling magnetoresistance of 136.3% and high thermal stability. The results of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS) showed that the Mo-based films had better crystallinity,sharper interfaces, and weaker diffusion than the W-based films and thus produced a weaker external contribution of the Gilbert damping constant. As a result of the weak spin-orbit coupling in the Mo-based structure, the intrinsic contribution of the Gilbert damping constant was also weak, thereby leading to the small Gilbert damping constant of the Mo-based stacks. In addition, the macro-spin simulation results demonstrated that the magnetization switching by the spin transfer torque of the Mo-based MTJs was faster than that of the W-based MTJs. | 16 | Collective stimulated Brillouin scattering modes of two crossing laser beams with shared scattered wave显示文摘In inertial confinement fusion(ICF),overlapping of laser beams is common.Owing to the effective high laser intensity of the overlapped beams,the collective mode of stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS)with a shared scattered light wave is potentially important.In this work,an exact analytic solution for the convective gain coefficient of the collective SBS modes with shared scattered wave is presented for two overlapped beams based on a linear kineticmodel.The effects of the crossing angle,polarization states,and finite beamoverlapping volume of the two laser beams on the shared light modes are analyzed for cases with zero and nonzero wavelength difference between the two beams.It is found that all these factors have a significant influence on the shared lightmodes of SBS.Furthermore,the out-of-plane modes,in which the wavevectors of daughter waves lie in different planes from the two overlapped beams,are found to be important for certain polarization states and especially for obtuse crossing angles.In particular,adjusting the polarization directions of the two beams to be orthogonal to each other or tuning the wavelength difference to a sufficiently large value(of the order of nanometers)are found to be effective methods to suppress the shared light modes of SBS.This work will be helpful for comprehending and suppressing collective SBS with shared scattered waves in ICF experiments. | Jie Qiu Liang Hao Lihua Cao Shiyang Zou | 2021 | Matter and Radiation at Extremes2021,6,6: | 0 |
| 17 | Conductive metal-organic frameworks promoting polysulfides transformation in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Metal organic frameworks(MOFs) have been extensively investigated in Li-S batteries owing to high surface area, adjustable structures and abundant catalytic sites. Nevertheless, the insulating nature of traditional MOFs render retarded kinetics of polysulfides conversion, leading to insufficient utilization of sulfur. In comparison, conductive MOFs(c-MOFs) show great potential for promoting polysulfides transformation due to superb electronic conductivity. In this work, a nickel-catecholates based c-MOF, NiHHTP(HHTP = 2,3,6,7,10,11-hexahydroxytriphenylene), is designed to regulate surface chemistry of self-supported carbon paper for advanced Li-S batteries. Taking advantage of the porous structure and high conductivity, the as-prepared Ni-HHTP is conducive to synergising strengthening the chemisorption of polysulfides and accelerating the reaction kinetics in Li-S batteries, significantly mitigating the polysulfides diffusion from the non-encapsulated sulfur cathode, therefore promoting polysulfides transformation in Li-S batteries.
