2Effects of soaking process on arsenic and other mineral elements in brown rice显示文摘One of the main food crops in the world,rice can accumulate high levels of arsenic from flooded paddy soils,which seriously threatens human health.Soaking,a common processing method for brown rice products,especially for brown rice noodles,was investigated in this study.Japonica rice(Dao Hua Xiang No.2)and Indica rice(Ye Xiang You No.3)were selected for studying the effects of soaking on arsenic concentrations,species,and distributions.Results revealed that soaking can efficiently remove arsenic in these two rice varieties,and the main part of removal is endosperm with the maximal rate of about 40%.Inorganic arsenic(I-As)(about 85%)is the main species of arsenic reduction.Meanwhile,the variations of four other elements(i.e.,Mg,Ca,Zn,and Fe)were analyzed.Collectively,the findings of this study indicate that soaking can efficiently remove arsenic in brown rice under controlled soaking conditions,which thereby reduces the arsenic intake for brown rice customers.Fan Zhang Fengying Gu Huili Yan Zhenyan He Bolun Wang Hao Liu Tingting Yang Feng Wang 2020Food Science and Human Wellness2020,9,2:5
3Vinyl-functionalized multicolor benzothiadiazoles: design,synthesis, crystal structures and mechanically-responsive performance显示文摘Benzothiadiazole(BTD) has been extensively used as a building block in optical materials. In this work, a class of π-conjugated BTD-based luminogens BTD-685, BTD-580, BTD-675 and BTD-565 were designed by varying donor units and facilely synthesized by Heck coupling reaction. It was found that their emission in solid state covered the regio from orange, red to near infrared fluorescence. Investigation on photo-physical property manifested that they had strong solvatochromic behavior except symmetric 2-vinylpyridine substituted BTD-565. Crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that they involved in multi weak intermolecular interactions. And loose molecular packing implied that they can be easily rearranged under external force stimuli.Indeed, all compounds showed reversible mechanically-responsive behavior in solid state. Interestingly, the vinylpyridinecontaining BTD-565 exhibited hypochromatic mechanochromic behavior, whereas others showed bathochromic mechanochromism behavior. It was worth mentioning that BTD-675 had self-recovery behavior after grinding. The powder X-ray diffraction study showed that these chromic processes may be mainly attributed to the reversible morphological changes between crystalline and amorphous phase upon grinding or fuming. 8Field emission properties of amorphous GaN ultrathin films fabricated by pulsed laser deposition显示文摘Amorphous gallium nitride (a-GaN) films with thicknesses of 5 and 300 nm are deposited on n-Si (100) substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD), and their field emission (FE) properties are studied. It shows that compared with thicker (300 nm) a-GaN film, better FE performance is obtained on ultrathin (5 nm) a-GaN film with a threshold field of 0.78 V/μm, which is the lowest value ever reported. Furthermore, the current density reaches 42 mA/cm2 when the applied field is 3.72 V/μm. These experimental results unambiguously confirm Binh's theoretical analysis (Binh et al. 10New Metabolic Alterations and A Predictive Marker Pipecolic Acid in Sera for Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma显示文摘Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is a major histological subtype of esophageal cancer with a poor prognosis.Although several serum metabolomic investigations have been reported,ESCC tumor-associated metabolic alterations and predictive biomarkers in sera have not been defined.Here,we enrolled 34 treatment-naive patients with ESCC and collected their pre-and post-esophagectomy sera together with the sera from 34 healthy volunteers for a metabolomic survey.Our comprehensive analysis identified ESCC tumor-associated metabolic alterations as represented by a panel of 12 serum metabolites.Notably,postoperative abrosia and parenteral nutrition substantially perturbed the serum metabolome.Furthermore,we performed an examination using sera from carcinogen-induced mice at the dysplasia and ESCC stages and identified three ESCC tumor-associated metabolites conserved between mice and humans.Notably,among these metabolites,the level of pipecolic acid was observed to be progressively increased in mouse sera from dysplasia to cancerization,and it could be used to accurately discriminate between mice at the dysplasia stage and healthy control mice.Furthermore,this metabolite is essential for ESCC cells to restrain oxidative stress-induced DNA damage and cell proliferation arrest.Together,this study revealed a panel of 12 ESCC tumor-associated serum metabolites with potential for monitoring therapeutic efficacy and disease relapse,presented evidence for refining parenteral nutrition composition,and highlighted serum pipecolic acid as an attractive biomarker for predicting ESCC tumorigenesis.Lei Liu Jia Wu Minxin Shi Fengying Wang Haimin Lu Jibing Liu Weiqin Chen Guanzhen Yu Dan Liu Jing Yang Qin Luo Yan Ni Xing Jin Xiaoxia Jin Wen-Lian Chen 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,4:0
11Clinical relevance of distolingual roots and periodontal status in mandibular first molars: a cross-sectional study employing CBCT analysis显示文摘Objectives:Distolingual root of the permanent mandibular first molar(PMFM-DLR)has been frequently reported,which may complicate the treatment of periodontitis.This study aimed to assess the morphological features of PMFM-DLR and investigate the correlation between the morphological features of PMFM-DLR and periodontal status in patients with Eastern Chinese ethnic background.Materials and methods:A total of 836 cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)images with 1497 mandibular first molars were analyzed to observe the prevalence of PMFM-DLR at the patients and tooth levels in Eastern China.Among them,complete periodontal charts were available for 69 Chinese patients with 103 teeth.Correlation and regression analyses were used to evaluate the correlation between the morphological features of DLR,bone loss,and periodontal clinical parameters,including clinical attachment loss(CAL),probing pocket depth(PPD),gingival recession(GR),and furcation involvement(FI).Results:The patient-level prevalence and tooth-level prevalence of DLR in mandibular first molars were 29.4%and 26.3%,respectively.Multiple linear regression analysis suggested that bone loss at the lingual site and CAL were negatively affected by the angle of separation between distolingual and mesial roots in the transverse section,while they were significantly influenced by age and the angle of separation between distobuccal and mesial roots in the coronal section.Conclusions:The prevalence of PMFM-DLR in Eastern China was relatively high in our cohort.The morphological features of DLR were correlated with the periodontal status of mandibular first molars.This study provides critical information on the morphological features of DLR for improved diagnosis and treatment options of mandibular molars with DLR.Feifei MAO Meng WANG Shuai ZHOU Yan ZHAO Jiaping HUANG Fengying YIN Haiping YANG Pei-hui DING 2024Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2024,25,3:0
12The detailed anti-tumor mechanisms of daphnanetype diterpenoids from Genkwa flos显示文摘Genkwa flos is a well-known traditional Chinese medicine, which exhibits abundant biological activities such as antiinflammatory, analgesic, immunoregulatory activities and anti-rheumatic arthritis activity. Recent pharmacological studies showed that Genkwa flos might also have the antitumor effect. Daphnane-type diterpenoids (DDs) are one of the main anti-tumor constitutions in Genkwa flos. However, the underlying anticancer molecular mechanisms of this type of compounds are still unclear. This review aims to give a systematic summary of DDs from Genkwa flos to better understand the anti-tumor activitiy by focusing on cell arrest, apoptosis, topoisomerase inhibition, melanin inhibition and the reverse of multi-drug-resistance (MDR). In addition, we are also going to make an overview of the mechanisms identified up to now.
