Electrochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles-coated gold nanoporous film electrode and its application to amperometric detection for trace Cr(VI)显示文摘A simple and rapid approach for the electrochemical synthesis of Ag nanoparticles-coated gold nanoporous film (AgGNF) on a gold substrate was reported. The solid gold electrode (SGE) was directly anodized under a high potential of 5 V, and then reduced to obtain gold nanoporous film (AuNF) by freshly prepared ascorbic acid. The Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) were grown on the AuNF electrode by potential-step electrodeposition. The resulting AgGNF composites electrodes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry (CV). As-prepared AgGNF electrode was used as a kind of superior sensor for Cr(VI) detection, which exhibited better electrocatalytic behavior than those of AuNF and SGE under identical conditions. Such a designed AgGNF nanocomposites electrode showed outstanding sensitivity (about 0.15 nA/ppb) and favorable reproducibility for Cr(VI) detection. The dependence of reduction current on Cr(VI) concentration is linear from 2 to 370 ppb with a low detection limit of 0.65 ppb. Interferences from other heavy metals ions (Cr3+, Cu2+, Pb2+, As3+ and Hg2+) associated with Cr(VI) analysis could be effectively diminished. The present method proves to be rapid, reliable, sensitive and low-cost. | XU He ZHENG QiaoLi YANG Ping LIU JianShe XING SuJie JIN LiTong | 2011 | Science China Chemistry2011,54,6: | 9
Preparation and properties of chitosan–metal complex:Some factors influencing the adsorption capacity for dyes in aqueous solution显示文摘Chitosan–metal complexes have been widely studied in wastewater treatment, but there are still various factors in complex preparation which are collectively responsible for improving the adsorption capacity need to be further studied. Thus, this study investigates the factors affecting the adsorption ability of chitosan–metal complex adsorbents, including various kinds of metal centers, different metal salts and crosslinking degree. The results show that the chitosan–Fe( Ⅲ) complex prepared by sulfate salts exhibited the best adsorption efficiency(100%) for various dyes in very short time duration(10 min), and its maximum adsorption capacity achieved 349.22 mg/g. The anion of the metal salt which was used in preparation played an important role to enhance the adsorption ability of chitosan–metal complex. SO_4^(2-) ions not only had the effect of crosslinking through electrostatic interaction with amine group of chitosan polymer, but also could facilitate the chelation of metal ions with chitosan polymer during the synthesis process.Additionally, the p H sensitivity and the sensitivity of ionic environment for chitosan–metal complex were analyzed. We hope that these factors affecting the adsorption of the chitosan–metal complex can help not only in optimizing its use but also in designing new chitosan–metal based complexes. | Sadia Rashid Chensi Shen Jing Yang Jianshe Liu Jing Li | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,4: | 6

Mesenchymal stem cell treatment improves outcome of COVID-19 patients via multiple immunomodulatory mechanisms显示文摘The infusion of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)patients with mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)potentially improves clinical symptoms, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. We conducted a randomized,single-blind,placebo-controlled(29 patients/group)phase II clinical trial to validate previous findings and explore the potential mechanisms.Patients treated with umbilical cord-derived MSCs exhibited a shorter hospital stay(P=0.0198)and less time required for symptoms remission(P=0.0194)than those who received placebo.Based on chest images, both severe and critical patients treated with MSCs showed improvement by day 7(P=0.0099)and day 21(P=0.0084).MSC-treated patients had fewer adverse events.MSC infusion reduced the levels of C-reactive protein, proinflammatory cytokines, and neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)and promoted the maintenance of SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies. To explore how MSCs modulate the immune system,we employed single-cell RNA sequencing analysis on peripheral blood. Our analysis identified a novel subpopulation of VNN2+hematopoietic stem/progenitorlike(HSPC-like)cells expressing CSF3R and PTPRE that were mobilized following MSC infusion.Genes encoding chemotaxis factors—CX3CR1 and L-selectin—were upregulated in various immune cells.MSC treatment also regulated B cell subsets and increased the expression of costimulatory CD28 in T cells in vivo and in vitro. In addition,an in vivo mouse study confirmed that MSCs suppressed NET release and reduced venous thrombosis by upregulating kindlin-3 signaling.Together, our results underscore the role of MSCs in improving COVID-19 patient outcomes via maintenance of immune homeostasis. | Rongjia Zhu Tingdong Yan Yingmei Feng Yan Liu Hongcui Cao Gongxin Peng Yanlei Yang Zhen Xu Jingqi Liu Wei Hou Xiaoyue Wang Zhe Li Luchan Deng Shihua Wang Jing Li Qin Han Hongling Li Guangliang Shan Yinghao Cao Xingyan An Jianshe Yan Zhonghui Zhang Huafei Li Xuebin Qu Jiaqi Zhu Shumin Zhou Jiao Wang Fengchun Zhang Jinming Gao Ronghua Jin Dayong Xu Yan-Qing Ma Tao Huang Shuang Peng Zhi Zheng Ilia Stambler Eric Gilson Lee Wei Lim Alexey Moskalev Antonio Cano Sasanka Chakrabarti Brun Ulfhake Huanxing Su Haoying Xu Sihuan Xu Feng Wei Holly MBrown-Borg Kyung-Jin Min Georgina Ellison-Hughes Calogero Caruso Kunlin Jin Robert Chunhua Zhao | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,12: | 5
Biting force and tongue muscle strength as useful indicators for eating and swallowing capability assessment among elderly patients显示文摘Weakened capability of eating and swallowing is common among elderly population, affecting negatively on their health and well-being.This work measured occlusal force and tongue muscle strength of elderly patients and then assessed whether correlations existed between oral physiological properties and the eating and swallowing capability.A total of 26 elderly patients with potential swallow disorder were recruited in this work.Participants’denture status and daily diet texture were determined by a pre-questionnaire analysis.Their swallowing capability was assessed and rated by water drinking test.Maximum tongue pressure, incisor occlusal force and hand gripping force were measured for each subject. It was observed that participating subjects have on average a significantly lower biting force and maximum tongue pressure than that of normal adults. The swallowing grades assessed by water drinking test showed significant correlations with both the biting force(r=−0.498,P<0.05)and the tongue muscle strength(r=−0.544,P<0.05).The biting force of dysphagia participants correlates significantly with dental conditions(P<0.05).The observed correlation between tongue pressure and diet texture indicates that tongue muscle strength could be used as a reliable indicator of the eating and swallowing capability for elderly people. | Xinmiao Wang Gangying Zheng Mingsong Su Yanqiu Chen Hua Xie Weijia Han Qing Yang Jianqin Sun Jianshe Chen | 2019 | Food Science and Human Wellness2019,8,2: | 4

Control system for cryogenic permanent magnet undulator(CPMU)of high energy photon source(HEPS)显示文摘Background High energy photon source(HEPS)is the fourth-generation light source, which uses a large number of highperformance insertion devices to generate synchrotron radiation. The control system is an important part of the insertion device(ID).Purpose Cryogenic permanent magnet undulator(CPMU)is one kind of IDs that works in liquid nitrogen temperature and ultra-high vacuum environment, and its control system is more difficult and complex than in-air ID.The design of the control system for CPMU will be introduced in detail.Method The sub-systems include high-precision magnetic gap control, safety protection, measurement and compensation of magnetic gap at cryogenic temperature and cryogenic temperature monitoring.Mature, reliable, stable technical schemes are designed to meet the technical specifications of sub-systems.Results The experiment results show that the magnetic gap motion accuracy can be controlled within 0.2–0.3μm under the step size of 1μm.The safety protection system has been tested in turn, and the predetermined protection can be achieved. The average value of magnetic gap cold contraction is 1.512 mm measured by optical micrometer, and the compensation is realized by software. The average temperature of the main magnet structure measured by the temperature sensors is 81.0 K,and the temperature gradient is 0.7 K/m.The temperature monitoring is reliable and stable. Conclusion The CPMU control system which is based on EPICS has been successfully applied to the CPMU prototype, and the test results have met the design specifications. | Shutao Zhao Jianshe Cao Huihua Lu Xiaoyu Li Shuchen Sun Yajun Sun Xiangzhen Zhang Lei Zhang Yuhui Li Zhiqiang Li Wan Chen Lingling Gong Qing Guo Keyun Gong Yongsheng Huang Yanwei Yang Yufeng Yang | 2021 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2021,5,1: | 2
A simple and sensitive method for the determination of 4-n-octylphenol based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified glassy carbon electrode显示文摘A simple and sensitive electroanalytical method was presented for the determination of 4-n-octylphenol(OP) based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) modified glassy carbon electrode(GCE).OP was directly oxidized on the MWCNTs/GCE,and the electrochemical oxidation mechanism was demonstrated by a one-electron and one-proton process in the reaction. The oxidation peak current of OP was significantly enhanced by the use of MWCNTs/GCE compared with those of bare glassy carbon electrode, suggesting that the modified electrode can remarkably improve the performance for OP determination.Factors influencing the detection processes were optimized.Under these optimal conditions,a linear relationship between concentration of OP and current response was obtained in the range of 5 × 10-8 to 1 × 10-5 mol/L with a detection limit of 1.5 × 10-8 mol/L and correlation coefficient 0.9986.The modified electrode showed good selectivity, sensitivity, reproducibility and high stability. | Qiaoli Zheng Ping Yang He Xu Jianshe Liu Litong Jin | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9: | 2
Effect of DC electric field on moisture migration characteristics in oil-pressboard显示文摘The moisture content has a great influence on the electric insulation strength of oil-pressboard.Therefore,it is very important to assess the moisture content in power transformers. There is lack of research about the effect of DC electric field on moisture migration. Here, the authors analyse the moisture migration characteristics of oil-press-board under DC electric field. The DC electric field has a greater influence on the moisture content in the oil.Compared with no DC electric field, the moisture content in oil is reduced by 22.91 mg/L at 50℃,while it is reduced by 17.63 mg/L at 70℃.Under the same moisture content in the oil,the moisture content in the pressboard which affected by the DC electric field is higher than the Oommen curve, the maximum dif-ference is 0.88%at 50℃,and 0.05%at 70℃.This result can provide a reference for the revision of existing moisture assessment methods. | Qing Yuan Bo Qi Jianshe Zhao Chunjia Gao Xiao Yang Shuqi Zhang Chengrong Li | 2021 | High Voltage2021,6,4: | 1
Impact of Liver Functions by Repurposed Drugs for COVID-19 Treatment显示文摘Liver injury is an important complication that may arise in patients suffering from coronavirus disease 2019(COV-ID-19)and is accompanied by a transient increase of transaminases and/or other liver enzymes.Liver function test(LFT)abnormalities generally disappear when the COV-ID-19 resolves or hepatotoxic drugs are discontinued. The LFT abnormalities are associated with drug-induced liver in-jury(DILI),due to the overuse of antimalarials, antivirals, and antimicrobials.Studies have reported varying levels of these liver injuries in COVID-19 patients;however, most in-volve elevated serum aminotransferases.Hepatic dysfunc-tion is significantly high in patients with severe illness and has poor outcome.Normally, the liver is involved in the me-tabolism of many drugs, including nucleoside analogs and protease inhibitors, which are currently repurposed to treat COVID-19.In addition to the manifestation of COVID-19,drugs implemented in its treatment may aggravate liver in-juries.Thus,DILI should be considered especially in those COVID-19 patients with underlying liver disease. It was unclear whether the elevated liver enzymes have originat-ed from the underlying disease or DILI in this population.Furthermore,it is difficult to establish a direct relationship between a specific drug and liver injury.Another possible effect of liver damage may due to inflammatory cytokine storm in severe COVID-19.Liver injury can change metabo-lism,excretion,dosing,and expected concentrations of the drugs, which may make it difficult to achieve a therapeutic dose of the drug or increase the risk of adverse effects. These repurposed drugs have shown limited efficacy against the virus and the disease itself;however, they still pose risk of adverse effects.Careful and close monitoring of LFTs in COVID-19 patients can provide early diagnosis of liver in-jury,and the risk of DILI could be reduced. Also, drug inter-actions in liver-transplanted patients should always be kept in mind for certain immunosuppressive therapies and their known signs of DILI.Altogether, abnormal LFTs should not be regarded as a contraindication to use COVID-19 experi-mental therapies if needed under emergent status. | Rongzhi Zhang Qiang Wang Jianshe Yang | 2022 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,4: | 1

Beyond dueling: roles of the type VI secretion system in microbiome modulation, pathogenesis and stress resistance显示文摘Bacteria inhabit diverse and dynamic environments, where nutrients may be limited and toxic chemicals can be prevalent. To adapt to these stressful conditions, bacteria have evolved specialized protein secretion systems, such as the type VI secretion system(T6SS)to facilitate their survival. As a molecular syringe, the T6SS expels various effectors into neighboring bacterial cells, eukaryotic cells,or the extracellular environment. These effectors improve the competitive fitness and environmental adaption of bacterial cells.Although primarily recognized as antibacterial weapons, recent studies have demonstrated that T6SSs have functions beyond interspecies competition. Here,we summarize recent research on the role of T6SSs in microbiome modulation, pathogenesis, and stress resistance. | Jinshui Lin Lei Xu Jianshe Yang Zhuo Wang Xihui Shen | 2021 | Stress Biology2021,1,1: | 1

An Application of the Modified Shear Lag Model to Study the Influence of Thermal Residual Stresses on the Stiffness and Yield Strength of Short Fiber Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites显示文摘The modified shear lag model proposed recently was applied to calculate thermal residual stresses and subsequent stress distributions under tensile and compressive loadings. The expressions for the elastic moduli and the yield strengths under tensile and compressive loadings were derived which take account of thermal residual stresses. The asymmetries in the elastic modulus and the yield strength were interpreted using the derived expressions and the obtained results of the stress calculations. | 18 | The effect of root of rhododendron on the activation of NF-κB in a chronic glomerulonephritis rat model显示文摘Objective:We have explored the role of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) in the pathogenesis of chronic glomerulonephritis, and investigated the effect of rhododendron root on the activation of NF-κB . Methods: Thirty-six Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: a control group,a glomerulonephritis model group and a therapy group(glomerulonephritis animals treated with the root of rhododendron). Bovine serum albumin(BSA) nephritis was induced by subcutaneous immunization and daily intraperitoneal administra-tion of BSA. Twenty-four-hour urinary protein and serum creatinine values were measured, and renal pathology was assessed histologi-cally by optical microscopy and electron microscopy. NF-κB activity was determined by an electrophoretic mobility shift assay(EMSA). Results:Compared with the control rats, glomerulonephritis model rats exhibited a significant increase in both 24 h urinary protein and serum creatinine, and had abnormal renal histology. The administration of the root of rhododendron ameliorated these changes. NF-κB activity in glomerulonephritis model group was greater than that in rhododendron-treated group, and NF-κB activity was greater in both glomerulonephritis groups than in the control group(P < 0.01). Conclusion:These observations suggest that NF-κB plays a role in the pathogenesis of chronic glomerulonephritis, and rhododendron root may attenuate renal damages by downregulating the activation of NF-kB in this model. | Jing Xiong Zhonghua Zhu Jianshe Liu Yang Wang | 2009 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2009,23,1: | 1
Effect of Fertilizer Application on the Yield of Walnut (Juglans regia L.)显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore the fertilization ratio of walnut, so as to provide a basis for rational fertilization of walnut. [Methods] Under the condition of gravelly yellow soil in Chaotian District, Guangyuan City, the orthogonal design of L_9(3~4) was used to test the fertilization ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. [Results] The effects of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers on walnut yield ranked as phosphate fertilizer>potassium fertilizer>nitrogen fertilizer. The different treatments had great effects on the yield of walnut, and for the land with gravelly yellow soil, the suitable annual fertilization amount of walnut was urea 1 200 g/plant + calcium superphosphate 1 500 g/plant + potassium sulfate 940 g/plant. | 20 | A 3D Investigation of Geological Structure and Its Relationship to Mineralization in the Nanling-Xuancheng Ore District,Middle-Lower Yangtze River Metallogenic Belt,China显示文摘The Nanling-Xuancheng ore region of Anhui Province is located in the Middle-Lower Yangtze River metallogenic belt.Insufficient exploration and research have been carried out in this newly defined ore district, although the Chating large porphyry Cu-Au deposit and a few middle-sized skarntype Cu polymetallic deposits have been discovered. In this study,we carried out high-resolution seismic reflection, magnetotelluric, gravity, and magnetic investigations, and constructed the 3 D geological structure of the uppermost crust in a depth range of 0-5 km using a comprehensive inversion of the new data constrained by previous deep-drilling data.We hence proposed some new insights to understand the mineralization processes of this district.A system of alternating ridges and valleys is suggested as the major structure pattern, composed of“two-layer structure”of the basins and“three-layer structure”of anticlines. Moreover,a conjugated fault system and its distribution features are revealed in our models, including the Jiangnan fault,Zhouwang fault, and Kunshan thrust nappe. The Jiangnan and Kunshan faults are suggested to have controlled the diagenesis and metallogenesis. Two deep concealed plutons located in Chating and Magushan are found, forming the Mesozoic diorite-felsic intrusions. These intrusions are believed to be the causes of hydrothermal deposits such as the Chating deposit and the Magushan deposit. | Sanming Lu Xueyi Lan Lili Zhao Zanzan Zhang Xiaoyong Yang Zhuang Zhao Dong Guo Xiaochun Xu Yongsheng Wang Jianshe Li Huasheng Qi | 2022 | Journal of Earth Science2022,33,3: | 0
