Antigenic variation of the human influenza A(H3N2) virus during the 2014–2015 winter season显示文摘The human influenza A(H3N2) virus dominated the 2014–2015 winter season in many countries and caused massive morbidity and mortality because of its antigenic variation. So far, very little is known about the antigenic patterns of the recent H3N2 virus. By systematically mapping the antigenic relationships of H3N2 strains isolat ed since 2010, we discov ered that two groups with obvious antigenic divergence, named SW13(A/Switzerland/9715293/2013-like strains) and HK14(A/Hong Kong/5738/2014-like strains), co-circulated during the 2014–2015 winter season. HK14 group co-circulated with SW13 in Europe and the United States during this season, while there were few strains of HK14 in China's Mainland, where SW13 has dominated since 2012. Furthermore, we found that substitutions near the receptor-binding site on hemagglutinin played an important role in the antigenic variation of both the groups. These findings provide a comprehensive understanding of the recent antigenic evolution of H3N2 virus and will aid in the selection of vaccine strains. | HUA Sha LI XiYan LIU Mi CHENG YanHui PENG YouSong HUANG WeiJuan TAN MinJu WEI HeJiang GUO JunFeng WANG DaYan WU AiPing SHU YueLong JIANG TaiJiao | 2015 | Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,9: | 17
The trend of the APRGP velocity field and plates movement derived from GPS data显示文摘High-precision data processing theories and methods for the wide area GPS network–––Asia Pacific Regional Geodesy Project (APRGP), are systematically discussed in this article. With the software bernese5.0 update, the annual results of APRGP coordinate, velocity field and the trend of plate movement are reestimated, and the corresponding accuracy of adjustment with different constraints, also the velocity field of APRGP, are presented and analyzed. Conclusions could be drawn that Eurasian plate (EURA) rotates clockwise, the Australian plate (AUST) and the Indian plate (INDI) move from southwest to northeast, while the Pacific plate (PCFC) is drifting to northwest, which shows agreement with those of IGS results. | CHENG PengFei , WANG Hua, CHENG YingYan, WEN HanJiang & CAI YanHui Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, Beijing 100039, China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,4: | 5
Epidemiological and Virological Surveillance of Seasonal Influenza Viruses—China,2020–2021显示文摘Introduction:During the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,the circulation of seasonal influenza virus declined globally and remained below previous seasonal levels. We analyzed the results of the epidemiology, antigenic, and genetic characteristics, and antiviral susceptibilities of seasonal influenza viruses isolated from the mainland of China during October 5,2020 through September 5,2021,to better assess the risk of influenza during subsequent influenza season in 2021–2022.Methods:Positive rates of influenza virus detection during this period were based on real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)detection by the Chinese National Influenza Surveillance Network laboratories, and isolated viruses from influenza positive samples were submitted to the Chinese National Influenza Center.Antigenic analyses for influenza viruses were conducted using the hemagglutination inhibition assay.Next-generation sequencing was used for genetic analyses.Viruses were tested for resistance to antiviral medications using a phenotypic assay and next-generation sequencing. Results:In southern China, the influenza positivity rate was elevated especially after March 2021 and was higher than the same period the previous year with the COVID-19 pandemic. In northern China, influenza positive rate peaked at Week 18 in 2021 and has declined since then.Nearly all isolated viruses were B/Victoria lineage viruses during the study period, and 37.3%of these viruses are antigenically similar to the reference viruses representing the vaccine components for the 2020–2021 and 2021–2022 Northern Hemisphere influenza season. All seasonal influenza viruses were susceptible to neuraminidase inhibitors and endonuclease inhibitors. Conclusions:Influenza activity has gradually increased in the mainland of China in 2021,although the intensity of activity is still lower than before the COVID-19 pandemic. The diversity of circulating influenza types/subtypes decreased, with the vast majority being B/Victoria lineage viruses. The surveillance data from this study suggest that we should strengthen influenza surveillance during the upcoming traditional influenza season. It also provided evidence for vaccine recommendations and prevention and control of influenza and clinical use of antiviral drugs. | Weijuan Huang Xiyan Li Minju Tan Yanhui Cheng Tao Chen Hejiang Wei Xiaoxu Zeng Yiran Xie Jia Liu Ning Xiao Lei Yang Dayan Wang | 2021 | China CDC weekly2021,3,44: | 4
Clinical feature and waveform in infantile nystagmus syndrome in children with FRMD7 gene mutations显示文摘Infant nystagmus sydrome presents as involuntary eye movement disorder and can affect seriously ocular function. We performed a retrospective study of clinical data and FRMD7 genetic test results in 12 cases of infantile nystagmus syndrome to correlate waveform, stereopsis, and visual acuity. The patients(age 6.40±2.67 years) had FRMD7 mutations as follows: missense in eight cases, shear in two cases, frameshift in one case, and non-frameshift in one case. Horizontal jerk waveform was observed in six cases, versus horizontal pendulum in five cases and dual jerk in one case. The uncorrected visual acuity(24 eyes) was 0.21±0.12,compared with a corrected visual acuity(24 eyes) of 0.32±0.14. All patients had simultaneous perception, versus fusion function in 10 cases(83.33%) and stereoscopic vision in seven cases(58.33%) using the synoptophore. Eleven cases(91.67%) detected the stereo fly, compared with five cases(41.67%) for stereoscopic circles and seven cases(58.33%) for stereoscopic animals by Titmus test. Stereoscopic vision using the synoptophore did not correlate with the frequency, amplitude, or intensity of nystagmus or with corrected binocular visual acuity. The infantile nystagmus syndrome with FRMD7 mutations in our cases was caused primarily de novo and missense mutations. Visual acuity and binocular visual function were significant impaired, and the waveform was generally horizontal jerk. Also, an infrared videonystagmogram can record the frequency, amplitude, and intensity of nystagmus accurately. | Dayong Bai Wei Shi Zhan Qi Wei Li Aihua Wei Yanhui Cui Cheng Li Li Li | 2017 | Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,7: | 3
Structural biology of SARS-CoV-2:open the door for novel therapies显示文摘Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2)is the causative agent of the pandemic disease COVID-19,which is so far without efficacious treatment. The discovery of therapy reagents for treating COVID-19 are urgently needed, and the structures of the potential drug-target proteins in the viral life cycle are particularly important.SARS-CoV-2,a member of the Orthocoronavirinae subfamily containing the largest RNA genome, encodes 29 proteins including nonstructural, structural and accessory proteins which are involved in viral adsorption, entry and uncoating, nucleic acid replication and transcription, assembly and release, etc. These proteins individually act as a partner of the replication machinery or involved in forming the complexes with host cellular factors to participate in the essential physiological activities. This review summarizes the representative structures and typically potential therapy agents that target SARS-CoV-2 or some critical proteins for viral pathogenesis, providing insights into the mechanisms underlying viral infection, prevention of infection, and treatment.Indeed, these studies open the door for COVID therapies, leading to ways to prevent and treat COVID-19,especially,treatment of the disease caused by the viral variants are imperative. | Weizhu Yan Yanhui Zheng Xiaotao Zeng Bin He Wei Cheng | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,2: | 2
A dynamic analysis of water footprint of Jinghe River basin显示文摘Water footprint in a region is defined as the volume of water needed for the production of goods and services consumed by the local people. Ecosystem services are a kind of important services, so ecological water use is one necessary component in water footprint. Water footprint is divided into green water footprint and blue water footprint but the former one is often ignored. In this paper water footprint includes blue water needed by ag-ricultural irrigation, industrial and domestic water demand, and green water needed by crops, economic forests, livestock products, forestlands and grasslands. The study calculates the footprint of the Jinghe River basin in 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005 with quarto methods. Results of research show that water footprints reached 164.1×108m3, 175.69×108m3 and 178.45×108m3 respectively in 1990, 1995 and 2000 including that of ecological water use, but reached 77.68×108m3, 94.24×108m3, 92.92×108m3 and 111.36×108m3 respectively excluding that of ecological water use. Green water footprint is much more than blue water footprint; thereby, green water plays an important role in economic development and ecological construction. The dynamic change of water footprints shows that blue water use increases rapidly and that the ecological water use is occupied by economic and domestic water use. The change also shows that water use is transferred from primary industry to secondary industry. In primary industry, it is trans-ferred from crops farming to forestry and animal agriculture. The factors impelling the change include development anticipation on economy, government policies, readjustment of the industrial structure, population growth, the raise of urbanization level, and structural change of consumption, low level of water-saving and poor ability of waste wa-ter treatment. With blue water use per unit, green water use per unit, blue water use structure and green water use structure, we analyzed the difference of the six ecological function districts of the Jinghe River basin. Future ecologi-cal construction may influence on blue water use of District V and District VI at middle and lower reaches. At last some suggestions are given for effective water resource use. | Geng Yanhui Min Qingwen Cheng Shengkui Wan Xin Yang Yanzhao | 2008 | Ecological Economy2008,4,2: | 2
Unexpected fast radical production emerges in cool seasons:implications for ozone pollution control显示文摘Ozone is a crucial air pollutant that damages human health and vegetation. As it is related to the photo-oxidation of the nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, the summertime reduction of these precursors is the primary focus of current ozone mitigation strategies.During ozone pollution episodes in eastern China,an observed accumulation of daily total oxidants(O_(x)=NO_(2)+O_(3))in cool seasons(spring and autumn:60 ppb and winter 40 ppb)is comparable to that in summer(60 ppb),indicating fast photochemical production of secondary pollutants including ozone over the year.Unrecognized fast radical primary productions are found to counteract the increased termination of hydroxyl radical and unfavorable meteorological conditions to maintain the rapid total oxidant formations in cool seasons.Elucidating and regulating the primary radical sources may be critical for the secondary air pollution control in cool seasons. | Hongli Wang Yanhui Liu Xiaorui Chen Yaqin Gao Wanyi Qiu Shengao Jing Qian Wang Shengrong Lou Peter MEdwards Cheng Huang Keding Lu | 2022 | National Science Open2022,1,2: | 2
Characterization of Influenza Viruses-China, 2019−2020显示文摘Introduction:Influenza surveillance is necessary for detection of emerging variants of influenza viruses and determining their epidemiological and clinical significance.Vaccination and antiviral drugs remain the most useful ways to protect against seasonal influenza and its potentially severe consequences. This study describes the epidemiology, antigenic and genetic characteristics, and antiviral susceptibilities of influenza viruses isolated from the mainland of China during the April 1,2019 through October 4,2020.Methods:All viruses analyzed were isolated and submitted by Chinese National Influenza Surveillance Network laboratories. The Chinese National Influenza Center performed antigenic analysis, sequencing, and antiviral resistance testing after propagation of the viruses.Antigenic characterizations were determined by hemagglutinin inhibition assay;next-generation sequencing was used for genetic analyses;phenotypic assay and next-generation sequencing were used for determining antiviral resistance. Results:The influenza positivity rate declined significantly starting in late January 2020 and has remained low. There was no summer influenza peak season in south China.Influenza A(H3N2)and B/Victoria lineage viruses were the dominant subtype/lineage during April 1,2019 through October 4,2020.The majority of influenza viruses were antigenically and genetically similar to reference viruses representing components of vaccines for the 2020–2021 northern hemisphere influenza season.Nearly all seasonal influenza viruses were susceptible to oseltamivir and zanamivir. Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice:Since the outbreak of COVID-19,the influenza positivity rate declined with implementation of strong COVID-19 control measures. The majority of circulating viruses are well matched with the current 2020–2021 northern hemisphere influenza vaccine viruses.Circulating seasonal influenza viruses were sensitive to neuraminidase inhibitors and Baloxavir marboxil. This study provided evidence for World Health Organization(WHO)recommendations for vaccine viruses, for prevention and control of influenza, and for clinical use of antiviral medications. | Weijuan Huang Yanhui Cheng Tao Chen Xiyan Li Minju Tan Hejiang Wei Xiaoxu Zeng Yiran Xie Jia Liu Ning Xiao Lei Yang Dayan Wang | 2020 | China CDC weekly2020,2,44: | 2
The cancer-testis gene,MEIOB,sensitizes triple-negative breast cancer to PARP1 inhibitors by inducing homologous recombination deficiency显示文摘Objective:The newly defined cancer-testis(CT)gene,MEIOB,was previously found to play key roles in DNA double-strand break(DSB)repair. In this study,we aimed to investigate the effects and mechanisms of MEIOB in the carcinogenesis of triple-negative breast cancers(TNBCs).Methods:The Cancer Genome Atlas database was used to quantify the expression of MEIOB.Cox regression analysis was used to evaluate the association between MEIOB expression and the prognosis of human TNBC.The effects of MEIOB on cell proliferation and migration in TNBCs were also assessed in vitro.Patient-derived xenograft(PDX)models were used to assess the sensitivity of breast cancers with active MEIOB to PARP1 inhibitors. Results:We confirmed MEIOB as a CT gene whose expression was restricted to the testes and breast tumors, especially TNBCs.Its activation was significantly associated with poor survival in breast cancer patients[overall, hazard ratio(HR)=1.90(1.16–2.06);TNBCs:HR=7.05(1.16–41.80)].In addition,we found that MEIOB was oncogenic and significantly promoted the proliferation of TNBC cells.Further analysis showed that MEIOB participated in DSB repair in TNBCs.However,in contrast to its function in meiosis,it mediated homologous recombination deficiency(HRD)through the activation of poly ADP-ribose polymerase(PARP)1 by interacting with YBX1.Furthermore,activated MEIOB was shown to confer sensitivity to PARP inhibitors, which was confirmed in PDX models. Conclusions:MEIOB played an oncogenic role in TNBC through its involvement in HRD.In addition, dysregulation of MEIOB sensitized TNBC cells to PARP inhibitors,so MEIOB may be a therapeutic target of PARP1 inhibitors in TNBC. | Yayun Gu Cheng Wang Rongxuan Zhu Jianshui Yang Wenwen Yuan Yanhui Zhu Yan Zhou Na Qin Hongbing Shen Hongxia Ma Hongxia Wang Xiaoan Liu Zhibin Hu | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1: | 2
A Population-Membrane-System-Inspired Evolutionary Algorithm for Distribution Network Reconfiguration显示文摘This paper proposes a Populationmembrane-system-inspired evolutionary algorithm(PMSIEA), which is designed by using a population P system and a Quantum-inspired evolutionary algorithm(QIEA). PMSIEA uses the population P system with three cells to organize three variants of QIEAs, where communications between cells are performed at the level of genes, instead of the level of individuals reported in the existing membrane algorithms. This work provides a useful framework for synthesizing different algorithms at macro level and exchanging genic information at micro scale. Experimental results conduced on knapsack problems show that PMSIEA is superior to four representative QIEAs and our previous work with respect to the quality of solutions and the elapsed time. We also use PMSIEA to solve the optimal distribution system reconfiguration problem in power systems for minimizing the power loss. | ZHANG Gexiang RONG Haina CHENG Jixiang QIN Yanhui | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2014,23,3: | 2

Design, hydrodynamic analysis, and testing of a bioinspired controllable wing mechanism with multi-locomotion modes for hybrid-driven underwater gliders显示文摘Hybrid-driven technology, which can improve the sailing performance of underwater gliders(UGs),has been successfully used in ocean observation. However,a hybrid-driven UG(HUG)with an added tail propeller is still unable to achieve backward and turning motion with a body length radius, and the hydrodynamic pitch moment acting on the HUG that is mainly caused by the fixed-wing makes it difficult to achieve high-precision attitude control during fixed-depth navigation. To solve this problem,a two-degree-of-freedom bioinspired controllable wing mechanism(CWM)is proposed to improve the maneuverability and cruising ability of HUGs.The CWM can realize five motion modes:modifying the dihedral angle or anhedral angle, changing the frontal area of the wing, switching the wing from horizontal to be a vertical rudder, flapping the wing as propulsion, and rotating the wing as a vector propeller.First, the design process of the CWM is provided, and hydrodynamic forces in each motion mode of three CWMs with different trailing edge sweepback angles(TESA)and attitude angles are analyzed through computational fluid dynamics simulation. The relationship between hydrodynamics and the attitude angles or TESA of the CWM is analyzed. Then, experiments are conducted to measure the hydrodynamics of the CWM when it is in a flapping wing mode and rotating the wing as a vector propeller, respectively. The hydrodynamic forces obtained from the simulation are consistent with data measured by a force sensor, proving the credibility of the simulated hydrodynamics.Subsequently,by applying the results of the hydrodynamic force in this study, the flapping trajectory of the wingtip is planned using the cubic spline interpolation method.Furthermore, two underwater demo vehicles with a pair of CWMs are developed, and experiments are conducted in a water tank, further validating and demonstrating the feasibility of the proposed CWM. | SUN TongShuai WANG YanHui YANG ShaoQiong WANG Cheng ZHANG LianHong | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,12: | 1

Mutations associated with egg adaptation of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus in laboratory based surveillance in China, 2009–2016显示文摘Mutations of influenza virus associated with adaptation occurring during passage in embryonated chicken eggs could result in antigenic change or reduced vaccine effectiveness. In this study,we investigated the mutations of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 egg isolates from the Chinese National Influenza Surveillance Network between 2009 and 2016.Thirteen mutations were identified in the hemagglutinin(HA)protein from viruses passaged in eggs,in comparing to those in cells. After scanning public database, four mutations,D127E,L191I,D222G/N and Q223R in HA1,which may alter the receptor-binding specificity, were observed frequently.Although the A(H1N1)pdm09 virus has evolved in human for nearly ten years, most egg-cultured viruses acquired one or more further mutations.Using the egg isolates for influenza surveillance requires extra caution because of these selected mutations, and their impacts on antigenicity and receptor-binding property need further evaluation.Currently, most of the influenza vaccines are produced using egg isolates, particularly in China. Thus, there is an urge to promote the establishment of an alternative influenza vaccine production platform. | Lei Yang Yanhui Cheng Xiang Zhao Hejiang Wei Minju Tan Xiyan Li Wenfei Zhu Weijuan Huang Wenbing Chen Jia Liu Zi Li Yuelong Shu Dayan Wang | 2019 | Biosafety and Health2019,1,1: | 1
Efficacy of Ciji Hua'ai Baosheng formula on the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor, kinase insert domain-containing receptor and basic fibroblast growth factor in mouse models of H22 hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy of Ciji Hua'ai Baosheng formula(CHBF) on microvessel density(MVD) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), kinase insert domain-containing receptor(KDR) and basic fibroblast growth factor(b FGF) expression in serum and tumor tissue of mice receiving chemotherapy for the treatment of H22 hepatocellular carcinoma.METHODS: Sixty Kunming mice were injected subcutaneously with H22 hepatoma carcinoma cell suspensions into the right anterior armpit. Seven days later, all transplanted tumor were formed and the mice were intraperitoneally injected 200 mg/kg cytoxan(CTX) to establish the models of tumor-bearing mouse chemotherapy, then they were randomly divided into model group, continuing CTX chemotherapy group(CTX group), and three CHBF(117, 58.5 and 29.25 g/kg) groups. After ten days of treatments, histology was observed, contents of VEGF, KDR and b FGF in serum and tumor tissue were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), VEGF and b FGF protein expression and MVD tagged by CD34 were detected by immunohistochemisty.RESULTS: MVD in CHBF(117, 58.5 g/kg) and CTX groups was significantly lower than that in model group(P < 0.01); expressions of VEGF, KDR and b FGF in serum and tumor tissue in CHBF(117 g/kg)group were less than those in model group(P <0.05; P < 0.01); the expressions of MVD, VEGF and b FGF in tumor tissue of CHBF(117 g/kg) groupwere also less than those in CTX group(P < 0.05;P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: CHBF can effectively reduce the expression of VEGF, KDR and b FGF in serum and tumor tissue, and decrease MVD and delay tumor progression. | Zhao Xinyue Xi Shengyan Wang Yanhui Xu Yangxinzi Pollock Galia Su Yu Cheng Yao Loy Guanjie Liu Pei | 2017 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,1: | 1
