1Genome-wide variants of Eurasian facial shape differentiation and a prospective model of DNA based face prediction显示文摘It is a long-standing question as to which genes define the characteristic facial features among different ethnic groups. In this study, we use Uyghurs, an ancient admixed population to query the genetic bases why Europeans and Han Chinese look different. Facial traits were analyzed based on high-dense 3D facial images; numerous biometric spaces were examined for divergent facial features between European and Han Chinese, ranging from inter-landmark distances to dense shape geometrics. Genome-wide association studies(GWAS) were conducted on a discovery panel of Uyghurs. Six significant loci were identified, four of which, rs1868752, rs118078182, rs60159418 at or near UBASH3B, COL23A1, PCDH7 and rs17868256 were replicated in independent cohorts of Uyghurs or Southern Han Chinese. 2Breakage and separation mechanism of ZGM coal mill based on parameters optimization model显示文摘Sampling ports were firstly drilled on a ZGM95 coal mill in the power plant in China, and the coal samples from various points in the pulverizer were collected under the different operation conditions. The property of the sampling material from the mill was analyzed, applying the float–sink test, size distribution analysis, proximate analysis and so on. It was indicated that the +250 lm fraction in the pulverized fuel accounted for only 0.02%, while it was 83.2% in the new feed. The circulating ratio and coal flow in the separator and the cone zone were calculated using the mass balance of the circulating load. So, the circulating ratio in the separator of the pulverizer was between 8 and 13, and the circulating ratio, the feed flow of separator and cone zone all raised with the increase of the air volume. Furthermore, the parameters of the separation functions were obtained based on the fitting method. 3Size distribution of wet crushed waste printed circuit boards显示文摘A wet impact crusher was used to breakdown waste printed circuit boards (PCB's) in a water medium. The relationship between the yield of crushed product and the operating parameters was established. The crushing mechanism was analyzed and the effects of hammerhead style, rotation speed, and inlet water volume on particle size distribution were investigated. The results show that the highest yield of 1 + 0.75 mm sized product was obtained with an inlet water volume flow rate of 5.97 m 3 /h and a smooth hammerhead turning at 1246.15 r/min. Cumulative undersize-product yield curves were fitted to a nonlinear function: the fitting correlation coefficient was greater than 0.998. 4Compressional Deformation in Indentation Process for Microlens Array Mold显示文摘The structure of a microlens array( MLA) can be formed on copper by an indentation process which is a new manufacture approach we applied here instead of a traditional method to test the material property,thereby work time can be saved. Single-indentation and multi-indentation are both conducted to generate a single dimple and dimples array,namely micro lens and MLA. Based on finite element simulation method,factors affecting the form accuracy,such as springback at the compressed area of one single dimple and compressional deformation at the adjacent area of dimples arrays,are determined,and the results are verified by experiments under the same conditions. Meanwhile,indenter compensation method is proposed to improve form accuracy of single dimple,and the relationship between pitch and compressional deformation is investigated by modelling seven sets of multi-indentations at different pitches to identify the critical pitch for the MLA's indentation processing. Loads and cross-sectional profiles are measured and analyzed to reveal the compressional deformation mechanism. 5Perceptions of the osteopathic profession in New York City’s Chinese Communities显示文摘Objective The purpose of this study was to assess knowledge of and barriers to osteopathic medicine in Chinese immigrant communities in New York City(NYC).Design A cross-sectional study was designed in which a culturally appropriate survey in Chinese and English versions was administered anonymously to measure immigrant perceptions and knowledge of osteopathic medicine.setting Data collection occurred in the municipal delineations for the Chinatown neighbourhood within the New York,New York borough of Manhattan.Participants Community members were selected using convenience sampling from high-density areas to participate.Information gathered from the survey included demographics,education level,healthcare habits and knowledge of the osteopathic profession.results 120 surveys were conducted with 68 males and 52 females,with an average age=40.Respondents in the age range of 18-29 years,those with fluent English-language proficiency,and participants with graduate-level education status demonstrated a higher proportion of knowledge of osteopathic manipulative medicine and osteopathic physicians(doctors of osteopathic medicine)among the study variables.Conclusion Compared with research on the general US population,a general lack of knowledge of osteopathic medicine exists within NYC’s Chinese immigrant community.Although this difference may be ascribed to linguistics and ethnosociological factors,greater outreach and education is needed in urban minority communities to make immigrants aware of all healthcare resources available during the current shortage of US primary care physicians.Justin Chin Sarah Li Gregory Yim YaQun Arlene Zhou Peter Justin Wan Emily R Dube Mikhail Volokitin Sonu Sahni Mark A Terrell Christine M Lomiguen 2020Family Medicine and Community Health2020,8,1:0
6Activation of G-protein-coupled receptor 39 reduces neuropathic pain in a rat model显示文摘Activated G-protein-coupled receptor 39(GPR39)has been shown to attenuate inflammation by interacting with sirtuin 1(SIRT1)and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γcoactivator 1α(PGC-1α).However,whether GPR39 attenuates neuropathic pain remains unclear.In this study,we established a Sprague-Dawley rat model of spared nerve injury-induced neuropathic pain and found that GPR39 expression was significantly decreased in neurons and microglia in the spinal dorsal horn compared with sham-operated rats.Intrathecal injection of TC-G 1008,a specific agonist of GPR39,significantly alleviated mechanical allodynia in the rats with spared nerve injury,improved spinal cord mitochondrial biogenesis,and alleviated neuroinflammation.These changes were abolished by GPR39 small interfering RNA(siRNA),Ex-527(SIRT1 inhibitor),and PGC-1αsiRNA.Taken together,these findings show that GPR39 activation ameliorates mechanical allodynia by activating the SIRT1/PGC-1αpathway in rats with spared nerve injury.Longqing Zhang Xi Tan Fanhe Song Danyang Li Jiayi Wu Shaojie Gao Jia Sun Daiqiang Liu Yaqun Zhou Wei Mei 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,3:0
