1Litter decomposition and C and N dynamics as affected by N additions in a semi-arid temperate steppe, Inner Mongolia of China显示文摘Litter decomposition is the fundamental process in nutrient cycling and soil carbon(C) sequestration in terrestrial ecosystems. The global-wide increase in nitrogen(N) inputs is expected to alter litter decomposition and,ultimately, affect ecosystem C storage and nutrient status. Temperate grassland ecosystems in China are usually N-deficient and particularly sensitive to the changes in exogenous N additions. In this paper, we conducted a 1,200-day in situ experiment in a typical semi-arid temperate steppe in Inner Mongolia to investigate the litter decomposition as well as the dynamics of litter C and N concentrations under three N addition levels(low N with 50 kg N/(hm2?a)(LN), medium N with 100 kg N/(hm2?a)(MN), and high N with 200 kg N/(hm2?a)(HN)) and three N addition forms(ammonium-N-based with 100 kg N/(hm2?a) as ammonium sulfate(AS), nitrate-N-based with 100 kg N/(hm2?a) as sodium nitrate(SN), and mixed-N-based with 100 kg N/(hm2?a) as calcium ammonium nitrate(CAN)) compared to control with no N addition(CK). The results indicated that the litter mass remaining in all N treatments exhibited a similar decomposition pattern: fast decomposition within the initial 120 days, followed by a relatively slow decomposition in the remaining observation period(120–1,200 days). The decomposition pattern in each treatment was fitted well in two split-phase models, namely, a single exponential decay model in phase I(<398 days) and a linear decay function in phase II(≥398 days). The three N addition levels exerted insignificant effects on litter decomposition in the early stages(<398 days, phase I; P>0.05). However, MN and HN treatments inhibited litter mass loss after 398 and 746 days, respectively(P<0.05). AS and SN treatments exerted similar effects on litter mass remaining during the entire decomposition period(P>0.05). The effects of these two N addition forms differed greatly from those of CAN after 746 and 1,053 days, respectively(P<0.05). During the decomposition period, N concentrations in the decomposing litter increased whereas C concentrations decreased, which also led to an exponential decrease in litter C:N ratios in all treatments. No significant effects were induced by N addition levels and forms on litter C and N concentrations(P>0.05). Our results indicated that exogenous N additions could exhibit neutral or inhibitory effects on litter decomposition, and the inhibitory effects of N additions on litter decomposition in the final decay stages are not caused by the changes in the chemical qualities of the litter, such as endogenous N and C concentrations. 2Tandem catalysis in electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction显示文摘Electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)is an attractive pathway for closing the anthropogenic carbon cycle and storing intermittent renewable energy by converting CO_(2) to valuable chemicals and fuels.The production of highly reduced carbon compounds beyond CO and formate,such as hydrocarbon and oxygenate products with higher energy density,is particularly desirable for practical applications.However,the productivity towards highly reduced chemicals is typically limited by high overpotential and poor selectivity due to the multiple electron-proton transfer steps.Tandem catalysis,which is extensively utilized by nature for producing biological macromolecules with multiple enzymes via coupled reaction steps,represents a promising strategy for enhancing the CO_(2)RR performance.Improving the efficiency of CO_(2)RR via tandem catalysis has recently emerged as an exciting research frontier and achieved significant advances.Here we describe the general principles and also considerations for designing tandem catalysis for CO_(2)RR.Recent advances in constructing tandem catalysts,mainly including bimetallic alloy nanostructures,bimetallic heterostructures,bimetallic core-shell nanostructures,bimetallic mixture catalysts,metal-metal organic framework(MOF)and metal-metallic complexes,metal-nonmetal hybrid nanomaterials and copper-free hybrid nanomaterials for boosting the CO_(2)RR performance are systematically summarized.The study of tandem catalysis for CO_(2)RR is still at the early stage,and future research challenges and opportunities are also discussed.Yating Zhu Xiaoya Cui Huiling Liu Zhenguo Guo Yanfeng Dang Zhanxi Fan Zhicheng Zhang Wenping Hu 2021Nano Research2021,14,12:5
3Direct site-specific treatment of skin cancer using doxorubicin-loaded nanofibrous membranes显示文摘Doxorubicin(DOX) is widely used in cancer therapy. However, its application is sometimes limited by its adverse cardiotoxicity and delivery pathways. In our study, we prepared a topical implantable delivery device for controlled drug release and site-specific treatment. The core region consisted of poly(lactic co-glycolic acid) and poly-caprolactone, whereas the shell region was composed of cross-linked gelatin.DOX was enclosed in the core region of a core-shell nanofiber obtained by electrospinning. This implantable delivery device was implanted on the top of the melanoma in a mouse model, which had shown a DOX-controlled release profile with sustained and sufficient local concentration against melanoma growth in mice with negligible side effects. Compared with the traditional intravenous administration,the implantable device allows precisely localized treatment and therefore can reduce the dose, decrease the injection frequency, and ensure antitumor efficacy associated with lower side effects to normal tissues. 4Seasonal variations of soil bacterial communities in Suaeda wetland of Shuangtaizi River estuary, Northeast China显示文摘Estuarine wetland is the transitional interface linking terrestrial with marine ecosystems,and wetland microbes are crucial to the biogeochemical cycles of nutrients.The soil samples were collected in four seasons(spring,S1;summer,S2;autumn,S3;and winter,S4)from Suaeda wetland of Shuangtaizi River estuary,Northeast China,and the variations of bacterial community were evaluated by high-throughput sequencing.Soil properties presented a significant seasonal change,including p H,carbon(C)and total nitrogen(TN),and the microbial diversity,richness and structure also differed with seasons.Canonical correspondence analysis(CCA)and Mantel tests implied that soil p H,C and TN were the key factors structuring the microbial community.Gillisia(belonging to Bacteroidetes)and Woeseia(affiliating with Gammaproteobacteria)were the two primary components in the rhizosphere soils,displaying opposite variations with seasons.Based on PICRUSt(Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States)prediction,the xenobiotics biodegradation related genes exhibited a seasonal decline,while the majority of biomarker genes involved in nitrogen cycle showed an ascending trend.These findings could advance the understanding of rhizosphere microbiota of Suaeda in estuarine wetland.Xuwang Zhang Zhe Ji Yating Shao Chaochen Guo Hao Zhou Lifen Liu Yuanyuan Qu 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,11:4
5Probing particle removal in brush scrubber cleaning with fluorescence technique显示文摘Brush scrubber cleaning is widely used for post chemical mechanical polishing(CMP)cleaning in semiconductor manufacturing.In this study,an experimental system based on fluorescence technique and particle-tracking velocimetry(PTV)technique was employed to characterize the particle removal displacement and velocity in the interface between a transparent copper film and a porous polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)brush during the cleaning process.Several different cleaning conditions including rotation speeds,loading pressure and cleaning agent were examined and the particle removal rate was compared.Elastic and friction removal,hydrodynamic removal and mixed-type removal are the three types of particle removal.Particles with an arc trace and uniform velocity curves were removed by friction and elastic force which were related to the brush load.Particles with a random trace and fluctuant velocity curves were removed by hydrodynamic force which was determined by the brush rotation speed.The increase of particle removal rate(PRR)with brush rotation speed is a logistic function.It is easier to improve PRR by increasing the brush load or by adding surfactant than by increasing the brush rotation speed.HUANG YaTing LI Yang GUO Dan MENG ChunLing 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,12:3

7Effect of three lactobacilli with strainspecific activities on the growth performance, faecal microbiota and ileum mucosa proteomics of piglets显示文摘Background: The beneficial effects of Lactobacillus probiotics in animal production are often strain-related.Different strains from the same species may exert different weight-gain effect on hosts in vivo. Most lactobacilli are selected based on their in vitro activities, and their metabolism and regulation on the intestine based on strainrelated characters are largely unexplored. The objective of the present study was to study the in vivo effects of the three lactobacilli on growth performance and to compare the differential effects of the strains on the faecal microbiota and ileum mucosa proteomics of piglets.Methods: Three hundred and sixty piglets were assigned to one of four treatments, which included an antibioticstreated control and three experimental groups supplemented with the three lactobacilli, L. salivarius G1-1, L. reuteri G8-5 and L. reuteri G22-2, respectively. Piglets were weighed and the feed intake was recorded to compare the growth performance. The faecal lactobacilli and coliform was quantified using quantitative PCR and the faecal microbiota was profiled by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE). The proteomic approach was applied to compare the differential expression of proteins in the ileum mucosa.Results: No statistical difference was found among the three Lactobacillus-treated groups in animal growth performance compared with the antibiotics-treated group(P > 0.05). Supplementation of lactobacilli in diets significantly increased the relative 16 S rRNA gene copies of Lactobacillus genus on both d 14 and d 28(P < 0.05).,and the bacterial community profiles based on DGGE from the lactobacilli-treated groups were distinctly different from the antibiotics-treated group(P < 0.05). The ileum mucosa of piglets responded to all Lactobacillus supplementation by producing more newly expressed proteins and the identified proteins were all associated with the functions beneficial for stabilization of cell structure. Besides, some other up-regulated and down-regulated proteins in different Lactobacillus-treated groups showed the expression of proteins were partly strain-related.Conclusions: All the three lactobacilli in this study show comparable effects to antibiotics on piglets growth performance. The three lactobacilli were found able to modify intestinal microbiota and mucosa proteomics. 8Filling Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)nanosheets into melamine foam towards a highly compressible all-in-one supercapacitor显示文摘The development of compressible supercapacitors strongly relies on the design of electrode materials combining superior compressibility,high conductivity with the stable electrochemical cycling performance.In this work,we report a facile yet scalable strategy to construct a highly compressible supercapacitor by integrating the current collector,active materials and the separator into one device.We use the highly compressive melamine foam(MF)as scaffold and the Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)nanosheets as the active materials.Filling the few-layer Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)nanosheets into the skeleton of MF by capillary force followed by freeze-drying yields the MF/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)composite with superior structural integrity that can be compressed at a large strain of 50%for 100 cycles.The electrochemical performances of the all-in-one supercapacitor were systematically investigated under diverse compression strains.The improved conductivity and reduced ion diffusion length allow the all-in-one supercapacitor to exhibit fast ion and electron kinetics even at high strain of 60%,delivering a maximal volumetric specific energy of 0.37 mWh∙cm^(-3)at power density of 0.42 mW∙cm^(-3)and extraordinary cycling performance during the 2,500 compression cycles.Rui Guo Xiying Han Peng Yuan Xuexia He Qi Li Jie Sun Liqin Dang Zonghuai Liu Yating Zhang Zhibin Lei 2022Nano Research2022,15,4:1

17A NIR ratiometric fluorescent biosensor for sensitive detection and imaging of α-L-fucosidase in living cells and HCC tumor-bearing mice显示文摘Detection and imaging of α-L-fucosidase(AFU)is of great value to understand its roles in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and tumor early diagnosis,but ideal assays are still lacking.Herein,a near-infrared(NIR)fluorescent biosensor(α-Fuc-DCM)was elaborately designed and synthesized for rapid and ratiometric detection of AFU activity in cells and HCC tumor mouse models.In the presence of AFU,this biosensor shows an enhancement in NIR emission in a ratiometric manner,which significantly improves the detection accuracy with the limit of detection as low as 4.8 mU/mL.Taking advantage of these merits,the activity of AFU in lysosomes could be visualized using ratiometric and NIR dual modality in living cells.Furthermore,its remarkable application for monitoring of endogenous AFU activity in HCC tumor-bearing mouse model is also demonstrated with bright fluorescence signal,which indicated that the biosensor could clearly monitor the liver tumor in the early stage.Importantly,the α-Fuc-DCM probe can be utilized to detect the AFU in serum from HCC patients.This strategy offers a promising biosensor system for early diagnosis of HCC and studying the roles of AFU in cancers.Guo-Qiang Zhang Weiwei Feng Zhiyuan Gao Gao-Lan Zhang Xinying Wu Yating Xiao Xun Li Lei Zheng Dan Ding Jianshuang Guo Bo Situ 2023Aggregate2023,4,2:0

20Decay-like fracture diagnosis of composite insulator based on small sample virtual expansion and radar graph mapping显示文摘Due to the complexity of test procedures and the high cost of measurements,the mechanism of the decay-like fracture is unclear,which brings hard concepts and the small sample problem.Therefore,it is intractable to establish accurate data-driven models.To solve the above mentioned problems,this paper proposes a data-driven modeling method based on radar graph mapping models and virtual sample generation(Radar-VSG).The main idea of the proposed method is to construct and select the most appropriate input features by using radar graph mapping,and to generate virtual samples by using the local outlier factor based on the isometric feature mapping algorithm(Isomap-LOF).To verify the effectiveness of our approach,a set of 27 training samples and 127 testing samples from China Southern Power Grid was applied.Experimental results suggested the accuracy was up to 100%after adding more than 27 virtual samples,with a 4.75%improvement.And the model has the best generalisation ability for 270 virtual samples,with the root mean square error of 0.018.Compared with support vector machine and four advanced VSG methods,the proposed Radar-VSG can achieve better performance.Ben Shang Youping Fan Yuqing Zhang Lei Yang Zijiang Wang Yating Zhang Zian Zeng Jianyi Guo 2023High Voltage2023,8,2:0
