1Selective leaching of vanadium from V-Ti magnetite concentrates by pellet calcification roasting-H_(2)SO_(4) leaching process显示文摘A novel method of pellet calcification roasting-H_(2)SO_(4) leaching was proposed to efficiently separate and extract vanadium(V)from vanadium-titanium(V-Ti)magnetite concentrates.The leaching rate of V is as high as 88.98%,while the leaching rate of impurity iron is only 1.79%.Moreover,the leached pellets can be used as raw materials for blast furnace ironmaking after secondary roasting.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry(SEMEDS)analyses showed that V^(3+)was oxidized to V^(5+)after roasting at 1200℃,and V^(5+)was then leached by H_(2)SO_(4).X-ray diffraction(XRD)analyses and single factor experiment revealed a minimal amount of dissolved Fe_(2)O_(3) during H_(2)SO_(4) leaching.Therefore,a high separation degree of V and iron(Fe)from V-Ti magnetite concentrate was achieved through H_(2)SO_(4) leaching.Compared with the traditional roastingleaching process,this process can achieve a high selectivity of V and Fe,and has excellent prospects for industrial production.Yi Luo Xiaokui Che Xinglan Cui Qi Zheng Lei Wang 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,3:8
2Matrilineal History of the Rana longicrus Species Group(Rana,Ranidae,Anura) and the Description of a New Species from Hunan,southern China显示文摘Fieldwork in Jiemuxi National Nature Reserve,Hunan,China,discovered morphologically indistinguishable groups of brown frogs that bred at different,exclusive times of the year.A principal components analysis of morphometric data,molecular analyses,and the exclusive breeding season suggested the occurrence of two species.The population that breeds during the winter was found to be an undescribed species and was subsequently described as Rana jiemuxiensis sp.nov.The new cryptic species can be identified from its congeners at the same locality by having a different breeding season and a divergent DNA barcode.Six major lineages of brown frogs were resolved with high nodal support.Rana japonica,R.chaochiaoensis,R.omeimontis,and R.jiemuxiensis have independent maternal lineages.Rana hanlunica and R.maoershanensis have essentially identical maternal lineages and they appear to represent the same species.The validity of the species R.longicrus,R.zhenhaiensis,and R.culaiensis and their genealogical relationships are not resolved and deserve further study.The genealogy indicates that sympatric cryptic lineages probably widely exist in the R.longicrus group.This highlights the importance of future more fine-scaled samplings and the inclusion of nuclear genes.Fang YAN Ke JIANG Hongman CHEN Ping FANG Jieqiong JIN Yi LI Shaoneng WANG Robert W.MURPHY Jing CHE Yaping ZHANG 2011Asian Herpetological Research2011,2,2:8

4Comparison of Histological, Microbiological, and Molecular Methods in Diagnosis of Patients with TBLN Having Different Anti-TB Treatment Background显示文摘Objective The influence of anti-tuberculosis(TB) treatment history on tuberculous lymphadenitis(TBLN) diagnosis is unclear. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the diagnostic methods, including histology, microbiology, and molecular tests, used for TBLN. Methods In this study, suspected patients with TBLN and having different anti-TB treatment background were enrolled. All the samples were tested simultaneously by histology, Ziehl-Neelsen(ZN) staining, mycobacterial culture(culture), Xpert MTB/RIF(xpert), real-time PCR, and high-resolution melting curve PCR(HRM). Thereafter, the performance of these methods on samples with different anti-TB treatment background was assessed. Results In our study, 89 patients were prospectively included 82 patients with TBLN and 7 with other diseases. The overall sensitivities of Xpert, real-time PCR, histology, ZN staining, and culture were 86.6%, 69.5%, 58.5%, 43.9%, and 22.0%, respectively. The anti-TB treatment history revealed dramatic influences on the sensitivity of culture(P < 0.0001). In fact, the treatment that lasted over 3 months also influenced the sensitivity of Xpert(P < 0.05). However, the treatment history did not affect the performance of remaining tests(P > 0.05). For rifampicin drug susceptibility test(DST), the anti-TB treatment showed only significant influence on the success rate of culture DST(P = 0.001), but not on those of Xpert and HRM tests(P > 0.05). 6Microwave ablation of primary breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression in model mice via activation of natural killer cells显示文摘Surgery is essential for controlling the symptoms and complications of stage IV breast cancer.However,locoregional treatment of primary tumors often results in distant progression,including lung metastasis,the most common type of visceral metastasis.As a minimally invasive thermal therapy,microwave ablation(MWA)has been attempted in the treatment of breast cancer,but the innate immune response after MWA has not yet been reported.Using two murine models of stage IV breast cancer,we found that MWA of primary breast cancer inhibited the progression of lung metastasis and improved survival.NK cells were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and exhibited enhanced cytotoxic functions,and the cytotoxic pathways of NK cells were activated.Depletion experiments showed that NK cells but not CD4+or CD8+T cells played a pivotal role in prolonging survival.Then,we found that compared with surgery or control treatment,MWA of the primary tumor induced completely different NK-cell-related cytokine profiles.Macrophages were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and produced IL-15 that activated NK cells to inhibit the progression of metastasis.In addition,MWA of human breast cancer stimulated an autologous NK-cell response.These results demonstrate that MWA of the primary tumor in metastatic breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression via the macrophage/IL-15/NK-cell axis.MWA of the primary tumor may be a promising treatment strategy for de novo stage IV breast cancer,although further substantiation is essential for clinical testing.Muxin Yu Hong Pan Nan Che Li Li Cong Wang Yue Wang Ge Ma Mengjia Qian Jiawei Liu Mingjie Zheng Hui Xie Lijun Ling Yi Zhao Xiaoxiang Guan Qiang Ding Wenbin Zhou Shui Wang 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9:5

9Design and optimization of low-energy transfer orbit to Mars with multi-body environment显示文摘This paper discusses the problem of design and optimization of low-energy transfer orbit with multi-body environment. A new integrative method is proposed to effectively solve the problem, in which the parameterized patched manifolds in CR3BP(circular restricted three-body problems), the shape-based method with multi-body environment, the homotopic method with multi-body environment, and the low-thrust capturing and descending algorithm with multi-body environment are all included. Firstly, the parameters describing the patched manifolds in CR3 BP are optimized until the least total absolute velocity increment has been got, including the employment of the shape-based method with multi-body environment. Secondly, the low-thrust control laws of the transfer orbit are optimized employing the homotopic method with multi-body environment that transfers the fuel optimization problem to an easier energy optimization problem. Thirdly, the low-thrust descending orbit around Mars is computed using the laws proposed in this paper. As a typical example, the Earth-Mars transfer orbit design is discussed. The results showed that the parameters describing the patched manifolds could be optimized by the DE(differential evolution) algorithm effectively; the homotopic method with multi-body environment could get the optimal value that meets the first order optimality conditions; and the low-thrust descending orbit could effectively be captured by Mars and finally become a circular parking orbit around it by the hypothesis control laws proposed in this paper. It shows that the final fuel cost is much less than the optimal transfer in the patched two-body problems. 11Strain heterogeneity,cooccurrence network,taxonomic composition and functional profile of the healthy ocular surface microbiome显示文摘Background:There is growing evidence indicating that the microbial communities that dwell on the human ocular surface are crucially important for ocular surface health and disease.Little is known about interspecies interactions,functional profiles,and strain heterogeneity across individuals in healthy ocular surface microbiomes.Methods:To comprehensively characterize the strain heterogeneity,cooccurrence network,taxonomic composition and functional profile of the healthy ocular surface microbiome,we performed shotgun metagenomics sequencing on ocular surface mucosal membrane swabs of 17 healthy volunteers.Results:The healthy ocular surface microbiome was classified into 12 phyla,70 genera,and 140 species.The number of species in each healthy ocular surface microbiome ranged from 6 to 47,indicating differences in microbial diversity among individuals.The species with high relative abundances and high positivity rates were Streptococcus pyogenes,Staphylococcus epidermidis,Propionibacterium acnes,Corynebacterium accolens,and Enhydrobacter aerosaccus.A correlation network analysis revealed a competitive interaction of Staphylococcus epidermidis with Streptococcus pyogenes in ocular surface microbial ecosystems.Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus pyogenes revealed phylogenetic diversity among different individuals.At the functional level,the pathways related to transcription were the most abundant.We also found that there were abundant lipid and amino acid metabolism pathways in the healthy ocular surface microbiome.Conclusion:This study explored the strain heterogeneity,cooccurrence network,taxonomic composition,and functional profile of the healthy ocular surface microbiome.These findings have important significance for the future development of probiotic-based eye therapeutic drugs.Yutong Kang Shudan Lin Xueli Ma Yanlin Che Yiju Chen Tian Wan Die Zhang Jiao Shao Jie Xu Yi Xu Yongliang Lou Meiqin Zheng 2021Eye and Vision2021,8,1:3
12Nonlinear dynamic analysis of a rotor/bearing/seal system显示文摘In this study a new dynamic model of a rotor system is established based on the Hamilton principle and the finite element method (FEM). We analyze the dynamic behavior of the rotor system with the coupled effects of the nonlinear oil film force, the nonlinear seal force, and the mass eccentricity of the disk. The equations of the motion are solved effectively using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method in MATLAB. The dynamic behavior of the system is illustrated by bifurcation diagrams, largest Lyapunov exponents, phase trajectory diagrams, and Poincaré maps. The numerical results show that the rotational speed of the rotor, the pressure drop in the seal, the seal length, the seal clearance, and the mass eccentricity of the disk are the key parameters that significantly affect the dynamic characteristics of the rotor system. The motion of the rotor system exhibits complex types of periodic, quasi-periodic, double-periodic, multi-periodic, and chaotic vibrations. 13Radiomics signature:A potential biomarker forβ-arrestin1 phosphorylation prediction in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND The phosphorylation status ofβ-arrestin1 influences its function as a signal strongly related to sorafenib resistance.This retrospective study aimed to develop and validate radiomics-based models for predictingβ-arrestin1 phosphorylation in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)using whole-lesion radiomics and visual imaging features on preoperative contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)images.AIM To develop and validate radiomics-based models for predictingβ-arrestin1 phosphorylation in HCC using radiomics with contrast-enhanced CT.METHODS Ninety-nine HCC patients(training cohort:n=69;validation cohort:n=30)receiving systemic sorafenib treatment after surgery were enrolled in this retrospective study.Three-dimensional whole-lesion regions of interest were manually delineated along the tumor margins on portal venous CT images.Radiomics features were generated and selected to build a radiomics score using logistic regression analysis.Imaging features were evaluated by two radiologists independently.All these features were combined to establish clinico-radiological(CR)and clinico-radiological-radiomics(CRR)models by using multivariable logistic regression analysis.The diagnostic performance and clinical usefulness of the models were measured by receiver operating characteristic and decision curves,and the area under the curve(AUC)was determined.Their association with prognosis was evaluated using the Kaplan-Meier method.RESULTS Four radiomics features were selected to construct the radiomics score.In the multivariate analysis,alanine aminotransferase level,tumor size and tumor margin on portal venous phase images were found to be significant independent factors for predictingβ-arrestin1 phosphorylation-positive HCC and were included in the CR model.The CRR model integrating the radiomics score with clinico-radiological risk factors showed better discriminative performance(AUC=0.898,95%CI,0.820 to 0.977)than the CR model(AUC=0.794,95%CI,0.686 to 0.901;P=0.011),with increased clinical usefulness confirmed in both the training and validation cohorts using decision curve analysis.The risk ofβ-arrestin1 phosphorylation predicted by the CRR model was significantly associated with overall survival in the training and validation cohorts(log-rank test,P<0.05).CONCLUSION The radiomics signature is a reliable tool for evaluatingβ-arrestin1 phosphorylation which has prognostic significance for HCC patients,providing the potential to better identify patients who would benefit from sorafenib treatment.Feng Che Qing Xu Qian Li Zi-Xing Huang Cai-Wei Yang Li Ye Wang Yi Wei Yu-Jun Shi Bin Song 2022World Journal of Gastroenterology2022,28,14:3
14Adult metaplastic hutch diverticulum with robotic-assisted diverticulectomy and reconstruction:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Hutch diverticulum arises from the compromised muscular development at the ureteral orifice.It is a congenital disease and extremely rare in adult,only accounting for about 3%occurrence worldwide.It can be either symptomatic or asymptomatic,and relies on image tools for diagnosis and preoperative planning.Indications for surgery are dependent on the complications from the diverticulum.Metaplasia is about 10%among those with hutch diverticulum,and it still has chances turning into malignancy,especially urothelial cell carcinoma.CASE SUMMARY A 27-year-old man was presented with frequently recurrent urinary tract infection for one year,and had suffered from intermittent right flank pain for 3 mo.No past medical histories were recorded before.No obvious abnormalities on laboratory data and urine examination were found.Under ultrasound,right hydronephrosis was seen and an anatomical abnormality was observed on intravenous pyelography.Further computed tomography urogram showed one diverticulum seated at superolateral side of right ureteral orifice.Cystoscopy was done and biopsy results showed focal metaplasia.After discussing with him,roboticassisted diverticulectomy with reconstruction was performed.Right hydronephrosis was greatly improved after surgery.He has completed his 1.5-year follow-ups,and no malignancies were seen from urine cytology and image of intravenous pyelography.CONCLUSION Robotic-assisted diverticulectomy and reconstruction to hutch diverticulum is a safe and efficient operation,providing several advantages over open and laparoscopic ones.Che H Yang Yi S Lin Yen C Ou Wei C Weng Li H Huang Chin H Lu Chao Y Hsu Min C Tung 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,20:2

16Kinetics, thermodynamics, and equilibrium of As(Ⅲ),Cd(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ) and Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption using porous chitosan bead-supported MnFe_(2)O_(4) nanoparticles显示文摘A novel porous nanocomposite,cross-linked chitosan and polyethylene glycol(PEG) bead-supported MnFe_(2) O_(4) nanoparticles(CPM),was developed as an efficient adsorbent to remove metalloid(As(Ⅲ))and heavy metals(Cd(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),and Pb(Ⅱ)).The characteristics of CPM showed a porous structure,well dispersed MnFe_(2) O_(4),and several of hydroxyl and amino groups(-OH,-NH_(2)).Batch experiments demonstrated that the best adsorption property of As(Ⅲ),Cd(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),and Pb(Ⅱ) was achieved within 8 h with maximum adsorption capacities of 9.90,9.73,43.94,and 11.98 mg/g,respectively.Competitive and synergistic effects(particularly precipitation) were included in the co-adsorption mechanism of As(Ⅲ) and heavy metals.Thereinto,As(Ⅲ) was partly oxidized by MnFe_(2) O_(4) to As(V),and both were coordinated on MnFe_(2) O_(4) nanoparticles.Pb(Ⅱ) could also bind to MnFe_(2) O_(4) by ion exchange and electrostatic attraction.Furthermore,Cd(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) tended to be coordinated on chitosan.Therefore,CPM can serve as a remediation material for water and soil co-contaminated with As(Ⅲ) and heavy metals.Hongxia Li Hongbing Ji Xinglan Cui Xiaokui Che Qidong Zhang Juan Zhong Rongzhen Jin Lei Wang Yi Luo 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6:2
17The novel amyloid-beta peptide aptamer inhibits intracellular amyloid-beta peptide toxicity显示文摘Amyloid β peptide binding alcohol dehydrogenase (ABAD) decoy peptide (DP) can competitively antagonize binding of amyloid β peptide to ABAD and inhibit the cytotoxic effects of amyloid β peptide. Based on peptide aptamers, the present study inserted ABAD-DP into the disulfide bond of human thioredoxin (TRX) using molecular cloning technique to construct a fusion gene that can express the TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 aptamer. Moreover, adeno-associated virus was used to allow its stable expression. Immunofluorescent staining revealed the co-expression of the transduced fusion gene TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 and amyloid β peptide in NIH-3T3 cells, indicating that the TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 aptamer can bind amyloid β peptide within cells. In addition, cell morphology and MTT results suggested that TRX1-ABAD-DP-TRX2 attenuated amyloid β peptide-induced SH-SY5Y cell injury and improved cell viability. These findings confirmed the possibility of constructing TRX-based peptide aptamer using ABAD-DP. 18Expression of Sex-Related Genes in Chicken Embryos During Male-to-Female Sex Reversal Exposure to Diethylstilbestrol显示文摘Sex emerges out of a delicate dance between a variety of promale, anti-male, and possibly profemale genes. To investigate the role that sex-related genes play in sex determination and gonadal differentiation of fowl, we constructed a male-to- female sex-reversal model of chick induced by diethylstilbestrol (DES) at onset of incubation (E0). The results of semi- quantitative PCR showed that the expression of Sf1, the orphan nuclear receptor steroidogenic factor-1 gene, was put forward from E7d to E5d and up-regulated during E5-7d; the Dmrt1, the double sex and the Mab-3 related to transcription factor 1 gene, was down-regulated during E3-7d. Meanwhile, anti-Müllerian hormone gene (Amh) expressed at a similar level in the genetic females and sex-reversal females before E7d, while no expression products of the three female-specific genes Wpkci, Fet1 and Foxl2 were detected in male-to-female embryos. These findings suggest that the expression of some certain sex-related genes, induced by the exogenous estrogen during period of sex determination and gonadal differentiation, results in the male-to-female sex reversal. Moreover, high activity of Sf1 gene during E5-7d might be related to the profemale process, while low activity of Dmrt1 gene during E3-5d might be anti-male. 19Cyclin G2,a novel target of sulindac to inhibit cell cycle progression in colorectal cancer显示文摘Sulindac has shown significant clinical benefit in preventing colorectal cancer pro-gression,but its mechanism of action has not been fully elucidated.We have found that sulin-dac sulfide(SS)is able to inhibit cell cycle progression in human colorectal cancer cells,particularly through G1 arrest.To understand the underlying mechanisms of sulindac inhibitory activity,we have demonstrated that Cyclin G2 up-regulation upon SS treatment can substan-tially delay cell cycle progression by enhancing the transcriptional activity of FOXO3a in human colorectal tumor cells.MiR-182,an oncogenic microRNA known to inhibit FOXO3a gene expres-sion,is also involved in the suppressive effect of SS on cell cycle progression.This process be-gins with the down-regulation of miR-182,followed by the enhancement of FOXO3a transcriptional activity and the up-regulation of Cyclin G2.To further determine the clinical utility of this axis,we analyzed the expression of miR-182/FOXO3a/Cyclin G2 in human colo-rectal tumor samples.Our results show not only that there are significant dfferences in miR-182/FOXO3a/Cyclin G2 between tumors and normal tissues,but also that the synergetic effect of miR-182 and FOXO3a is associated with predicting tumor progression.Our study dem-onstrates a novel mechanistic axis consisting of miR-182/FOXO3a/Cyclin G2 that mediates su-lindac inhibition of cell cycle progression.Hongyou Zhao Bin Yi Zhipin Liang Ches’Nique Phillips Hui-Yi Lin Adam I.Riker Yaguang Xi 2021Genes & Diseases2021,8,3:2
20Discovery of a wild,genetically pure Chinese giant salamander creates new conservation opportunities显示文摘Effective conservation of threatened biota relies on accurate assessments and scientific guidance.As an unfortunate example,Chinese giant salamanders(Andrias,CGS)remain critically endangered in nature.Misguided conservation efforts,e.g.,commercial propagation and releasing of millions of likely non-indigenous or interspecific hybrids,have further compromised conservation initiatives.Limited information on wild populations of CGS poses a significant conservation challenge.Following 18-month long field monitoring,we now report the discovery of a wild population of CGS in a closed nature reserve in Jiangxi Province,China.Genomic assessments reveal its genetic distinctiveness and do not detect genetic admixture with other species.Based on morphological and molecular evidences,we describe this CGS as a new species Andrias jiangxiensis sp.nov.This is the only known species of CGS today with a genetically pure,reproducing,in situ population.This discovery emphasizes the important role that closed nature reserves play in protecting species,and the necessity of integrating long-term field monitoring and genetic assessments.It sets a new pathway for discovering and conserving endangered species,especially for those biotas that are similarly being extirpated by anthropogenic translocations and overexploitation.Jing Chai Chen-Qi Lu Mu-Rong Yi Nian-Hua Dai Xiao-Dong Weng Ming-Xiao Di Yong Peng Yong Tang Qing-Hua Shan Kai Wang Huan-Zhang Liu Hai-Peng Zhao Jie-Qiong Jin Ru-Jun Cao Ping Lu Lai-Chun Luo Robert W.Murphy Ya-Ping Zhang Jing Che 2022Zoological Research2022,43,3:2
