| 1 | The levels, sources and reactivity of volatile organic compounds in a typical urban area of Northeast China显示文摘Air concentrations of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) were continually measured at a monitoring site in Shenyang from 20 August to 16 September 2017. The average concentrations of alkanes, alkenes, aromatics and carbonyls were 28.54, 6.30, 5.59 and9.78 ppbv, respectively. Seven sources were identified by the Positive Matrix Factorization model based on the measurement data of VOCs and CO. Vehicle exhaust contributed the most(36.15%) to the total propene-equivalent concentration of the measured VOCs,followed by combustion emission(16.92%), vegetation emission and secondary formation(14.33%), solvent usage(10.59%), petrochemical industry emission(9.89%), petrol evaporation(6.28%), and liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) usage(5.84%). Vehicle exhaust, solvent usage and combustion emission were found to be the top three VOC sources for O_3 formation potential, accounting for 34.52%, 16.55% and 11.94%, respectively. The diurnal variation of the total VOCs from each source could be well explained by their emission characteristics,e.g., the two peaks of VOC concentrations from LPG usage were in line with the cooking times for breakfast and lunch. Wind rose plots of the VOCs from each source could reveal the possible distribution of the sources around the monitoring site. | 4 | Cartilage-targeting peptide-modified dual-drug delivery nanoplatform with NIR laser response for osteoarthritis therapy显示文摘Cartilage-targeting delivery of therapeutic agents is still an effective strategy for osteoarthritis(OA)therapy.Recently,scavenging for reactive oxygen species(ROS)and activating autophagy have been increasingly reported to treat OA effectively.In this study,we designed,for the first time,a dual-drug delivery system based on metal organic framework(MOF)-decorated mesoporous polydopamine(MPDA)which composed of rapamycin(Rap)loaded into the mesopores and bilirubin(Br)loaded onto the shell of MOF.The collagen II-targeting peptide(WYRGRL)was then conjugated on the surface of above nanocarrier to develop a cartilage-targeting dual-drug delivery nanoplatform(RB@MPMW).Our results indicated the sequential release of two agents from RB@MPMW could be achieved via near-infrared(NIR)laser irritation.Briefly,the rapid release of Br from the MOF shell exhibited excellent ROS scavenging ability and anti-apoptosis effects,however responsively reduced autophagy activity,to a certain extent.Meanwhile,following the NIR irradiation,Rap was rapidly released from MPDA core and further enhanced autophagy activation and chondrocyte protection.RB@MPMW continuously phosphorylated AMPK and further rescued mitochondrial energy metabolism of chondrocytes following IL-1βstimulation via activating SIRT1-PGC-1αsignaling pathway.Additionally,the cartilage-targeting property of peptide-modified nanocarrier could be monitored via Magnetic Resonance(MR)and IVIS imaging.More significantly,RB@MPMW effectively delayed cartilage degeneration in ACLT rat model.Overall,our findings indicated that the as-prepared dual-drug delivery nanoplatform exerted potent anti-inflammation and anti-apoptotic effects,rescued energy metabolism of chondrocytes in vitro and prevented cartilage degeneration in vivo,which thereby showed positive performance for OA therapy. | Song Xue Xiaojun Zhou Weilin Sang Cong Wang Haiming Lu Yiming Xu Yiming Zhong Libo Zhu Chuanglong He Jinzhong Ma | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,8: | 5 |

| 6 | Electrochemical Preparation and Photoelectric Properties of Cu_2O-loaded TiO_2 Nanotube Arrays显示文摘TiO2 nanotube(TNT) arrays were fabricated by anodic oxidation of titanium foil in a fluoridebased solution, on which Cu2O particles were loaded via galvanostatic pulse electrodeposition in cupric acetate solutions in the absence of any other additives. The structure and optical properties of Cu2O-loaded TiO2 nanotube arrays(Cu2O-TNTs) were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and UV-Vis absorption, and the photoelectrochemical performance was measured using an electrochemical work station with a three-electrode configuration. The results show that the Cu2O particles distribute uniformly on the highly ordered anatase TiO2 nanotube arrays. The morphologies of Cu2O crystals change from branched, truncated octahedrons to dispersive single octahedrons with increasing deposition current densities. The Cu2O TNTs exhibited remarkable visible light responses with obvious visible light absorption and greatly enhanced visible light photoelectrochemical performance. | 8 | Ginsenoside Rb1 relieves glucose fluctuationinduced oxidative stress and apoptosis in Schwann cells显示文摘Cultured Schwann cells were treated with 5.6 mM and 50 mM glucose alternating every 8 hours to simulate intermittent high glucose. The present study analyzed the neuroprotective effects of 1, 10 and 100 μM ginsenoside Rb1 on oxidative damage and apoptosis in Schwann cells induced by intermittent high glucose. Flow cytometry demonstrated that ginsenoside Rb1 reduced intermittent high glucose-mediated reactive oxygen species production. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay showed that 8-hydroxy-2-deoxy guanosine levels in Schwann cells decreased following ginsenoside Rb1 treatment. Quantitative real-time reverse transcription-PCR and western blot assay results revealed that ginsenoside Rb1 inhibited intermittent high glucose-upregulated Bax expression, but antagonized intermittent high glucose-downregulated Bcl-2 expression in Schwann cells. These effects were most pronounced with 100 μM ginsenoside Rb1. | 9 | Treated dentin matrix induces odontogenic differentiation of dental pulp stem cells via regulation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling显示文摘Treated dentin matrix(TDM)is an ideal scaffold material containing multiple extracellular matrix factors.The canonical Wnt signaling pathway is necessary for tooth regeneration.Thus,this study investigated whether the TDM can promote the odontogenic differentiation of human dental pulp stem cells(hDPSCs)and determined the potential role of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in this process.Different concentrations of TDM promoted the dental differentiation of the hDPSCs and meanwhile,the expression of GSK3βwas decreased.Of note,the expression of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related genes changed significantly in the context of TDM induction,as per RNA sequencing(RNA seq)data.In addition,the experiment showed that new dentin was visible in rat mandible cultured with TDM,and the thickness was significantly thicker than that of the control group.In addition,immunohistochemical staining showed lower GSK3βexpression in new dentin.Consistently,the GSK3βknockdown hDPSCs performed enhanced odotogenesis compared with the control groups.However,GSK3βoverexpressing could decrease odotogenesis of TDM-induced hDPSCs.These results were confirmed in immunodeficient mice and Wistar rats.These suggest that TDM promotes odontogenic differentiation of hDPSCs by directly targeting GSK3βand activating the canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and provide a theoretical basis for tooth regeneration engineering. | Sirui Liu Jingjing Sun Shuai Yuan Yanyu Yang Yuping Gong Ying Wang Runying Guo Xue Zhang Yiming Liu Hongyan Mi Meiyue Wang Mengzhe Liu Rui Li | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,1: | 2 |
| 10 | The Environmental Impacts of Informal Economies in China: Inverted U-shaped Relationship and Regional Variances显示文摘This paper aims to the debate on the nexus between informal economies and the environment by investigating the long-term dynamic impacts of China’s informal economies on pollution and considering regional differences in informal economies’ pollution.This paper uses the Multiple Indicators Multiple Causes(MIMIC) model to estimate the size of informal economies and employs econometric models to examine their relationships to pollution based on provincial-level panel data from 2000 to 2017. The results indicate that informal economies’ effects on environmental pollution are not purely positive or negative. Rather, our model indicates that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between informal economies and pollution in the long run in China;this means that the level of environmental pollution increases at first and then decreases with the growth of informal economies. Further analysis shows that while this inverted, U-shaped relationship is significant in different regions of China, it is affected by different environmental impact factors. | 11 | Population Genetics of SARS-CoV-2: Disentangling Effects of Sampling Bias and Infection Clusters显示文摘A novel RNA virus,the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),is responsible for the ongoing outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Population genetic analysis could be useful for investigating the origin and evolutionary dynamics of COVID-19.However,due to extensive sampling bias and existence of infection clusters during the epidemic spread,direct applications of existing approaches can lead to biased parameter estimations and data misinterpretation.In this study,we first present robust estimator for the time to the most recent common ancestor(TMRCA)and the mutation rate,and then apply the approach to analyze 12,909 genomic sequences of SARS-CoV-2.The mutation rate is inferred to be 8.69×10^(−4) per site per year with a 95%confidence interval(CI)of[8.61×10^(−4),8.77×10^(−4)],and the TMRCA of the samples inferred to be Nov 28,2019 with a 95%CI of[Oct 20,2019,Dec 9,2019].The results indicate that COVID-19 might originate earlier than and outside of Wuhan Seafood Market.We further demonstrate that genetic polymorphism patterns,including the enrichment of specific haplotypes and the temporal allele frequency trajectories generated from infection clusters,are similar to those caused by evolutionary forces such as natural selection.Our results show that population genetic methods need to be developed to efficiently detangle the effects of sampling bias and infection clusters to gain insights into the evolutionary mechanism of SARS-CoV-2.Software for implementing VirusMuT can be downloaded at http://gffzzdbc7b6aaae734bddsnbbwp0w5puvq6knb.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/biocode/tools/BT007081. | Qi Liu Shilei Zhao Cheng-Min Shi Shuhui Song Sihui Zhu Yankai Su Wenming Zhao Mingkun Li Yiming Bao Yongbiao Xue Hua Chen | 2020 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2020,18,6: | 1 |

| 16 | Three-dimensional electrical structure model of the Yangbajain geothermal field in Tibet:Evidence obtained from magnetotelluric data显示文摘The Yangbajain Geothermal Field in Tibet is located in the fault subsidence basin of the central Yadong-Gulu Rift Valley.The spatial distribution of the field is controlled by mountain-front fault zones on the northwestern and southeastern sides of the basin.Geothermal power has been generated in Yangbajain for more than 40 years.However,owing to the lack of threedimensional(3D) geophysical exploration data,key geological issues related to the partial melt body of the Yangbajain Geothermal Field,such as its location,burial depth,and geometric form,as well as the ascending channel of the geothermal fluid,have for a long time been controversial.In this study,3D inversion was performed using measured geo-electromagnetic total impedance tensor data from 47 survey points.The extracted horizontal sections at different depths and profiles,and at different lines,reflect the 3D electrical structure model of the geothermal field in the study area.Subsequently,three findings were obtained.First,the partial melt body,located below the China-Nepal Highway extending along the northeast direction,is the heat source of the Yangbajain Geothermal Field.The burial depth range of the molten body was determined to range between approximately 6.2 and 14 km.Moreover,the geothermal fluid ascended a horn-shaped circulation channel with an up-facing opening,located in the northern section of the sulfur ditch area.The study results revealed that deep rock fissures(>2 km) were not well developed and had poor permeability.In addition,no layered heat reservoirs with high water richness were observed in the northern part of the study area.However,the application of enhanced geothermal system(EGS) technology in the northern region would be essential to improving the power generation capacity of the Yangbajain Geothermal Field.In addition,the study found no deep high-temperature heat storage areas in the southern region of the study area. | Guoqiang XUE Weiying CHEN Ping ZHAO Wangqi REN Yiming HE Pengfei LV Kangxin LEI Yang ZHAO | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,8: | 0 |
| 17 | Metabolic flux simulation of microbial systems based on optimal planning algorithms显示文摘The genomic scale metabolic networks of the microorganisms can be constructed based on their genome se-quences,functional annotations,and biochemical reactions,reflecting almost all of the metabolic functions.Mathematical simulations of metabolic fluxes could make these functions be visualized,thereby providing guidance for rational engineering design and experimental operations.This review summarized recently devel-oped flux simulation algorithms of microbial systems.For the single microbial systems,the optimal planning algorithm has low complexity because there is no interaction between microorganisms,and it can quickly simulate the stable metabolic states through the pseudo-steady hypothesis.Besides,the experimental conditions of single microbial systems are easier to reach or close to the optimal states of simulation,compared with pol-ymicrobial systems.The polymicrobial culture systems could outcompete the single microbial systems as they could relieve metabolic pressure through metabolic division,resource exchange,and complex substrate co-utilization.Besides,they provide varieties of intracellular production environments,which render them the po-tential to achieve efficient bioproduct synthesis.However,due to the quasi-steady hypothesis that restricts the simulation of the dynamic processes of microbial interactions and the algorithm complexity,there are few re-searches on simulation algorithms of polymicrobial metabolic fluxes.Therefore,this review also analyzed and combed the microbial interactions based on the commonly used hypothesis of maximizing growth rates,and studied the strategies of coupling interactions with optimal planning simulations for metabolism.Finally,this review provided new insights into the genomic scale metabolic flux simulations of polymicrobial systems. | Chen Yang Boyuan Xue Yiming Zhang Shaojie Wang Haijia Su | 2023 | Green Chemical Engineering2023,4,2: | 0 |

| 19 | Linguistic Steganalysis via Fusing Multi-Granularity Attentional Text Features显示文摘Deep learning based language models have improved generation-based linguistic steganography,posing a huge challenge for linguistic steganalysis.The existing neural-network-based linguistic steganalysis methods are incompetent to deal with complicated text because they only extract single-granularity features such as global or local text features.To fuse multi-granularity text features,we present a novel linguistic steganalysis method based on attentional bidirectional long-shortterm-memory(BiLSTM) and short-cut dense convolutional neural network(CNN).The BiLSTM equipped with the scaled dot-product attention mechanism is used to capture the long dependency representations of the input sentence.The CNN with the short-cut and dense connection is exploited to extract sufficient local semantic features from the word embedding matrix.We connect two structures in parallel,concatenate the long dependency representations and the local semantic features,and classify the stego and cover texts.The results of comparative experiments demonstrate that the proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art linguistic steganalysis. | WEN Juan DENG Yaqian PENG Wanli XUE Yiming | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2023,32,1: | 0 |
| 20 | A 3D sliced-soil-beam model for settlement prediction of tunnelling using the pipe roofing method in soft ground显示文摘The pipe roofing method is widely used in tunnel construction because it can realize a flexible section shape and a large section area of the tunnel,especially under good ground conditions.However,the pipe roofing method has rarely been applied in soft ground,where the prediction and control of the ground settlement play important roles.This study proposes a sliced-soil-beam(SSB)model to predict the settlement of ground due to tunnelling using the pipe roofing method in soft ground.The model comprises a sliced-soil module based on the virtual work principle and a beam module based on structural mechanics.As part of this work,the Peck formula was modified for a square-section tunnel and adopted to construct a deformation mechanism of soft ground.The pipe roofing system was simplified to a threedimensional Winkler beam to consider the interaction between the soil and pipe roofing.The model was verified in a case study conducted in Shanghai,China,in which it provided the efficient and accurate prediction of settlement.Finally,the parameters affecting the ground settlement were analyzed.It was clarified that the stiffness of the excavated soil and the steel support are the key factors in reducing ground settlement. | Yu DIAO Yiming XUE Weiqiang PAN Gang ZHENG Ying ZHANG Dawei ZHANG Haizuo ZHOU Tianqi ZHANG | 2023 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2023,17,12: | 0 |
