| 1 | Prognostic potential of an immune score based on the density of CD8+ T cells, CD20+ B cells, and CD33+/p-STAT1+ double-positive cells and HMGB1 expression within cancer nests in stage ⅢA gastric cancer patients显示文摘Objective: There is heterogeneity in the prognosis of gastric cancers staged according to the tumornodes-metastasis(TNM) system.This study evaluated the prognostic potential of an immune score system to supplement the TNM staging system.Methods: An immunohistochemical analysis was conducted to assess the density of T cells, B cells, and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs) in cancer tissues from 100 stage ⅢA gastric cancer patients; the expression of the high-mobility group protein B1(HMGB1) was also evaluated in cancer cells.The relationship between the overall survival(OS), disease-free survival(DFS), and immunological parameters was analyzed.Results: An immune score system was compiled based on the prognostic role of the density of T cells, B cells, MDSCs, and the expression of HMGB1 in cancer tissues.The median 5-year survival of this group of patient was 32%.However, the 5-year survival rates of 80.0%, 51.7%, 0%, 5.8%, and 0% varied among the patients with an immune score of 4 to those with an immune score of 0 based on the immune score system, respectively.Similarly, differences in DFS rates were observed among the immune score subgroups.Conclusions: An immune score system could effectively identify the prognostic heterogeneity within stage ⅢA gastric cancer patients, implying that this immune score system may potentially supplement the TNM staging system, and help in identifying a more homogeneous group of patients who on the basis of prognosis can undergo adjuvant therapy. | Jun Dong Jiao Li Shiming Liu Xingyu Feng Shi Chen Zhiwei Zhou Yingbo Chen Xiaoshi Zhang | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5: | 3 |

| 14 | Bioleaching and biosorption behavior of vanadium-bearing stone coal by Bacillus mucilaginosus显示文摘The recovery of vanadium(V)from stone coal by bioleaching is a promising method.The bioleaching experiments and the biosorption experiments were carried out,aiming to explore the adsorption characteristics of Bacillus mucilaginosus(B.mucilaginosus)on the surface of vanadium-bearing stone coal,and the related mechanisms have been investigated.After bioleaching at 30℃ for 28 d,the cumulative leaching rate of V reached 60.2%.The biosorption of B.mucilaginosus on stone coal was affected by many factors.When the pH value of leaching system is 5.0,strong electrostatic attraction between bacteria and stone coal promoted biosorption.Bacteria in the logarithmic growth phase had mature and excellent biosorption properties.The initial bacterial concentration of 3.5×10^(8) CFU/mL was conducive to adhesion,with 38.9%adsorption rate and 3.6×10^(7) CFU/g adsorption quantity.The adsorption of B.mucilaginosus on the stone coal conformed to the Freundlich model and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.Bacterial surface carried functional groups(-CH_(2),-CH_(3),-NH_(2),etc.),which were highly correlated with the adsorption behavior.In addition,biosorption changed the surface properties of stone coal,resulting in the isoelectric point(IEP)approaching the bacteria.The results could provide an effective reference for the adsorption laws of bacteria on minerals. | Yingbo Dong Shijia Chong Hai Lin | 2023 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,2: | 0 |
| 15 | Comprehensive study on the spatial distribution of heavy metals and their environmental risks in high-sulfur coal gangue dumps in China显示文摘The accumulation of coal gangue(CG)from coal mining is an important source of heavy metals(HMs)in soil.Its spatial distribution and environment risk assessment are extremely important for the management and remediation of HMs.Eighty soil samples were collected from the high-sulfur CG site in northern China and analyzed for six HMs.The results showed that the soil was heavily contaminated by Mn,Cr and Ni based on the Nemerow index,and posed seriously ecological risk depended on the geo-accumulation index,potential ecological risk index and risk assessment code.The semi-variogram model and ordinary kriging interpolation accurately portrayed the spatial distribution of HMs.Fe,Mn,and Cr were distributed by band diffusion,Ni was distributed by core,the distribution of Cu had obvious patchiness and Zn was more uniform.The spatial autocorrelation indicated that all HMs had strong spatial heterogeneity.The BCR sequential extraction was employed to qualify the geochemical fractions of HMs.The data indicated that Fe and Cr were dominated by residual fraction;Cu,Ni and Zn were dominated by reducible and oxidizable fractions;Mn was dominated by reducible and acid-extractable(25.38%-44.67%)fractions.Pearson correlation analysis showed that pH was the main control factor affecting the non-residue fractions of HMs.Therefore,acid production from high sulfur CG reduced soil pH by 2-3,which indirectly promoted the activity of HMs.Finally,the conceptual model of HMs contamination at the CG site was proposed,which can be useful for the development of ecological remediation strategies. | Yingbo Dong Huan Lu Hai Lin | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2: | 0 |
| 16 | Insight into modified biochars and their immobilizing effects on heavy metal(loid)s in contaminated soils: Mechanisms and influencing factors显示文摘Soil contamination by heavy metal(loid)s is a considerable environmental concern,and immobilization is a promising way to reduce toxicity.In recent years,modified/engineered biochars have gained enormous attention for their use in soil remediation,and various studies have reported notable results from their application and their ability to immobilize heavy metal(loid)s.In this review,a summary of publications on the utilization of modified biochars is presented to address the heavy metal(loid)threat in soils.Various modified/engineered biochars were described from the review of relevant publications.Modification causes great changes in biochar surface chemistry,such as increases in pore volume,surface functional groups,and metal binding sites,which can be observed through various analytical techniques,including Brunauer-Emmett-Teller,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,and magnetism.Such analytical approaches elucidate immobilization mechanisms of adsorption,precipitation,surface complexation,and cation exchange between biochar and metal(loid)ions.In addition,the performance of biochar in remediating heavy metal(loid)s also leads to considerable improvements in soil conditions.Additionally,many factors that influence metal(loid)immobilization by biochar in soil,such as pH,redox potential,microorganisms,and climate regime,are highlighted.Finally,this paper emphasizes that using modified biochars as an immobilizing agent for remediation of heavy metal(loid)-polluted soils is promising and would be practicable if a comprehensive mechanism of their long-term stability in soil is well elucidated. | Ehma Rose GUERET YADIBERET MENZEMBERE Yinhai HE Yingbo DONG Bing LI Chenjing LIU Hai LIN Lengue SAMBIANI | 2023 | Pedosphere2023,33,1: | 0 |
| 17 | From the floret to the canopy:High temperature tolerance during flowering显示文摘Heat waves induced by climate warming have become common in food-producing regions worldwide,frequently coinciding with high temperature(HT)-sensitive stages of many crops and thus threatening global food security.Understanding the HT sensitivity of reproductive organs is currently of great interest for increasing seed set.The responses of seed set to HT involve multiple processes in both male and female reproductive organs,but we currently lack an integrated and systematic summary of these responses for the world’s three leading food crops(rice,wheat,and maize).In the present work,we define the critical high temperature thresholds for seed set in rice(37.2℃±0.2℃),wheat(27.3℃±0.5℃),and maize(37.9℃±0.4℃)during flowering.We assess the HT sensitivity of these three cereals from the microspore stage to the lag period,including effects of HT on flowering dynamics,floret growth and development,pollination,and fertilization.Our review synthesizes existing knowledge about the effects of HT stress on spikelet opening,anther dehiscence,pollen shedding number,pollen viability,pistil and stigma function,pollen germination on the stigma,and pollen tube elongation.HT-induced spikelet closure and arrest of pollen tube elongation have a catastrophic effect on pollination and fertilization in maize.Rice benefits from pollination under HT stress owing to bottom anther dehiscence and cleistogamy.Cleistogamy and secondary spikelet opening increase the probability of pollination success in wheat under HT stress.However,cereal crops themselves also have protective measures under HT stress.Lower canopy/tissue temperatures compared with air temperatures indicate that cereal crops,especially rice,can partly protect themselves from heat damage.In maize,husk leaves reduce inner ear temperature by about 5℃compared with outer ear temperature,thereby protecting the later phases of pollen tube growth and fertilization processes.These findings have important implications for accurate modeling,optimized crop management,and breeding of new varieties to cope with HT stress in the most important staple crops. | Mayang Liu Yuhan Zhou Jiaxin Sun Fen Mao Qian Yao Baole Li Yuanyuan Wang Yingbo Gao Xin Dong Shuhua Liao Pu Wang Shoubing Huang | 2023 | Plant Communications2023,4,6: | 0 |
