1Research progress in the estimation of the postmortem interval by Chinese forensic scholars显示文摘The determination of time since death or the postmortem interval(PMI)is one of the most important and frequently asked questions in forensic medicine.Medicolegal scholars and forensic pathologists around the world have studied the estimation of PMI extensively in the past,and many novel methods and advanced technologies have now been applied in the field.For several centuries,Chinese forensic examiners have also worked on the estimation of the PMI,and there are a large number of excellent studies published in Chinese rather than in English,and these are not easily accessible or known internationally.Therefore we have conducted a review of relevant studies published by Chinese forensic scholars in the last few decades.The scope of this review is to provide a concise summary of the current progress in the estimation of PMI by Chinese forensic researchers using molecular biology,spectroscopic technology,entomological methods,energy changes,thanatochemistry and other methods.Chengzhi Li Qi Wang Yinming Zhang Hancheng Lin Ji Zhang Ping Huang Zhenyuan Wang 2016Forensic Sciences Research2016,1,1:9

7Distribution of heavy metals in the topsoil of the Jining mining area显示文摘The geochemical baseline is the fundamental reference for environmental change and assessment.In this article we describe cluster and regression analyses with a normalization procedure.The elements Sc and Ag were chosen to calculate the environmental geochemical baseline.The geoaccumulation index was calculated and mapped to indicate the environmental quality of the soil.The results show that the urban areas are barely polluted with Ni and Cr but the rural areas in the southern part of the city, and the western part of the lake,are polluted with Ni,Cr,and Cu at the second level.On the other hand,the rural areas in the southern part of the city,and the western part of the lake,are polluted with As at a moderate level.The other area is polluted at the second level.An increase in As pollution occurs in a direction from northeast to southwest.The Cd pollution follows a trend similar to As,with an additional smaller contaminated area polluted at levelⅢ.The Hg pollution typical of urban areas occurs in the main and northern parts of the city.The geochemical accumulation index decreases from the city center to the periphery.The highest pollution level reaches levelⅣ,which indicates that the soil is seriously polluted with Hg.The southern part of the city and the rural areas to the west of the lake are not contaminated with Hg.Geological factors and the disturbance from human activities are both possible major factors:further research is needed to identify them.HAO Junliang HAN Zuozhen WANG Cuizhen ZHOU Guangzhu LI Yinming 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,3:1
8G3BP2 regulates oscillatory shear stress-induced endothelial dysfunction显示文摘GTPase-activating SH3 domain-binding protein 2(G3BP2)is a mediator that responds to environmental stresses through stress granule formation and is involved in the progression of chronic diseases.However,no studies have examined the contribution of G3BP2 in the oscillatory shear stress(OSS)-induced endothelial dysfunction.Here we assessed the effects of G3BP2 in endothelial cells(ECs)function and investigated the underlying mechanism.Using shear stress apparatus and partial ligation model,we identified that stress granulerelated genes in ECs could be induced by OSS with RNA-seq,and then confirmed that G3BP2 was highly and specifically expressed in athero-susceptible endothelia in the OSS regions.G3bp2e/eApoee/e mice had significantly decreased atherosclerotic lesions associated with deficiency of G3BP2 in protecting endothelial barrier function,decreasing monocyte adhesion to ECs and inhibiting the proinflammatory cytokine levels.Furthermore,loss of G3BP2 diminished OSS-induced inflammation in ECs by increasing YAP nucleocytoplasmic shuttling and phosphorylation.These data demonstrate that G3BP2 is a critical OSS regulated gene in regulating ECs function and that G3BP2 inhibition in ECs is a promising atheroprotective therapeutic strategy.Tianhan Li Juhui Qiu Tingting Jia Yinming Liang Kun Zhang Wenhua Yan Zhengjun Hou Shiwei Yang Lushan Liu Wenhao Xiong Yaokai Chen Guixue Wang 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,6:1

11A chromosome-level genome assembly for Erianthus fulvus provides insights into its biofuel potential and facilitates breeding for improvement of sugarcane显示文摘Erianthus produces substantial biomass,exhibits a good Brix value,and shows wide environmental adaptability,making it a potential biofuel plant.In contrast to closely related sorghum and sugarcane,Erianthus can grow in degraded soils,thus releasing pressure on agricultural lands used for biofuel production.However,the lack of genomic resources for Erianthus hinders its genetic improvement,thus limiting its potential for biofuel production.In the present study,we generated a chromosome-scale reference genome for Erianthus fulvus Nees.The genome size estimated by flow cytometry was 937 Mb,and the assembled genome size was 902 Mb,covering 96.26%of the estimated genome size.A total of 35065 proteincoding genes were predicted,and 67.89%of the genome was found to be repetitive.A recent wholegenome duplication occurred approximately 74.10 million years ago in the E.fulvus genome.Phylogenetic analysis showed that E.fulvus is evolutionarily closer to S.spontaneum and diverged after S.bicolor.Three of the 10 chromosomes of E.fulvus formed through rearrangements of ancestral chromosomes.Phylogenetic reconstruction of the Saccharum complex revealed a polyphyletic origin of the complex and a sister relationship of E.fulvus with Saccharum sp.,excluding S.arundinaceum.On the basis of the four amino acid residues that provide substrate specificity,the E.fulvus SWEET proteins were classified as monoand disaccharide sugar transporters.Ortho-QTL genes identified for 10 biofuel-related traits may aid in the rapid screening of E.fulvus populations to enhance breeding programs for improved biofuel production.The results of this study provide valuable insights for breeding programs aimed at improving biofuel production in E.fulvus and enhancing sugarcane introgression programs.Ling Kui Aasim Majeed Xianhong Wang Zijiang Yang Jian Chen Lilian He Yining Di Xuzhen Li Zhenfeng Qian Yinming Jiao Guoyun Wang Lufeng Liu Rong Xu Shujie Gu Qinghui Yang Shuying Chen Hongbo Lou Yu Meng Linyan Xie Fu Xu Qingqing Shen Amit Singh Karl Gruber Yunbing Pan Tingting Hao Yang Dong Fusheng Li 2023Plant Communications2023,4,4:0
12Study of the reactivity of radical-molecular addition reaction using density functional theory显示文摘The reactivity of radical-molecular addition reaction was studied in terms of density-functional theory (DFT) and Hartree-Fock theory (HFT). It was found that the DFT method can give more accurate estimated result than the HFT method. The reason might be that the energy of the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) in DFT is not the ionization energy, but rather represents the change in the total energy with respect to the change in occupation number of electrons in the HOMO, consistent with the concept of the transition state.
