A comprehensive review on recent progress in aluminum-air batteries显示文摘The aluminum-air battery is considered to be an attractive candidate as a power source for electric vehicles(EVs) because of its high theoretical energy density(8100 Wh kg^(-1)), which is significantly greater than that of the state-of-the-art lithium-ion batteries(LIBs). However, some technical and scientific problems preventing the large-scale development of Al-air batteries have not yet to be resolved. In this review, we present the fundamentals, challenges and the recent advances in Al-air battery technology from aluminum anode, air cathode and electrocatalysts to electrolytes and inhibitors. Firstly, the alloying of aluminum with transition metal elements is reviewed and shown to reduce the selfcorrosion of Al and improve battery performance. Additionally for the cathode, extensive studies of electrocatalytic materials for oxygen reduction/evolution including Pt and Pt alloys, nonprecious metal catalysts, and carbonaceous materials at the air cathode are highlighted. Moreover, for the electrolyte, the application of aqueous and nonaqueous electrolytes in Al-air batteries are discussed. Meanwhile, the addition of inhibitors to the electrolyte to enhance electrochemical performance is also explored. Finally, the challenges and future research directions are proposed for the further development of Al-air batteries. | Yisi Liu Qian Sun Wenzhang Li Keegan R.Adair Jie Li Xueliang Sun | 2017 | Green Energy & Environment2017,2,3: | 13

Influence of Residual Stress on the Dimensional Instability of 7075 Aluminum Cone-Shaped Shells显示文摘This paper dealt with the influence of residual stress on the dimensional instability of 7075 aluminum cone-shaped shells. Finite element method was introduced to calculate residual stress distributions in 7075 aluminum cone-shaped shells during conventional heat treatment (CHT) and deep cryogenic treatment (DCT). An example was given to demonstrate effects of deep cryogenic treatment (DCT) and conventional heat treatment (CHT) on dimensional instability. It is concluded that initial residual stresses have detrimental influence on the dimensional instability of 7075 aluminum cone-shaped shells. | Wang Qiucheng Zhao Zude Wang Yisi Xing Hongyan Kang Feng | 2009 | 稀有金属材料与工程2009,38,A03: | 2
MELD or MELD-Na as a Predictive Model for Mortality Following Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Placement显示文摘Background and Aim:The model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)was originally developed to predict survival after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS).The MELD-sodium(MELD-Na)score has replaced MELD for organ allocation for liver transplantation. However, there are limited studies to compare the MELD with MELD-Na to predict mortality after TIPS.Methods:We performed a retrospective chart review of patients who underwent TIPS placement between 2006 and 2016 at our institution. The primary outcome was mortality, and the secondary outcomes sought to assess which variables could provide prognostic information for mortality after TIPS placement. We performed receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis to assess the performance of MELD and MELD-Na.Results:There were 186 eligible patients in the analysis. The mean pre-TIPS MELD and MELD-Na were 13 and 15,respectively.Overall,mortality after TIPS was 15%at 30 days and 16.7%at 90 days.In a comparison of the areas under the ROCs for MELD and MELD-Na,MELD was superior to MELD-Na for 30-day(0.762 vs.0.709)and 90-day(0.780 vs.0.730)mortality after TIPS.The optimal cutoff score for 30-day mortality was 15(0.676–0.848)for MELD and 17(0.610–0.808)for MELD-Na,whereas the optimal cutoff score for 90-day mortality was 16(95%CI:0.705–0.855)for MELD and 17(95%CI:0.643–0.817)for MELDNa.There were 24 patients with high MELD-Na≥17,but with low MELD<15,and 90-day mortality in this group was 8.3%.Conclusions:Although MELD-Na is a superior prognostic tool to MELD for predicting overall mortality in cirrhotic patients,MELD tended to outperform MELD-Na to predict mortality after TIPS. | Arunkumar Krishnan Tinsay A.Woreta Dhananjay Vaidya Yisi Liu James P.Hamilton Kelvin Hong Alia Dadabhai Michelle Ma | 2023 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,1: | 1

Genetically-engineered“all-in-one”vaccine platform for cancer immunotherapy显示文摘An essential step for cancer vaccination is to break the immunosuppression and elicit a tumor-specific immunity.A major hurdle against cancer therapeutic vaccination is the insufficient immune stimulation of the cancer vaccines and lack of a safe and efficient adjuvant for human use.We discovered a novel cancer immunostimulant, trichosanthin(TCS),that is a clinically used protein drug in China, and developed a well-adaptable protein-engineering method for making recombinant protein vaccines by fusion of an antigenic peptide,TCS,and a cell-penetrating peptide(CPP),termed an'allin-one'vaccine,for transcutaneous cancer immunization. The TCS adjuvant effect on antigen presentation was investigated and the antitumor immunity of the vaccines was investigated using the different tumor models. The vaccines were prepared via a facile recombinant method. The vaccines induced the maturation of DCs that subsequently primed CD8^(+)T cells. The TCS-based immunostimulation was associated with the STING pathway. The general applicability of this genetic engineering strategy was demonstrated with various tumor antigens(i.e.,legumain and TRP2 antigenic peptides)and tumor models(i.e.,colon tumor and melanoma). These findings represent a useful protocol for developing cancer vaccines at low cost and time-saving,and demonstrates the adjuvant application of TCSdan old drug for a new application. | Aihua Wu Yingzhi Chen Hairui Wang Ya Chang Meng Zhang Pengfei Zhao Yisi Tang Qin Xu Zhuangzhi Zhu Yang Cao Yongzhuo Huang | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11: | 1
Potential benefits of precise corticosteroids therapy for severe 2019-nCoV pneumonia显示文摘Dear Editor,Since last December, the outbreak of 2019-nCoV in Wuhan has caused ever-increasing attention and public panic all over the world.Up to February 9,2020,40,171 patients had been diagnosed with 2019-nCoV infection, including 6484(16.14%)severe cases and 908 deaths(2.27%).Compared to SARS and MERS,2019-nCoV appears to be much more contagious but less lethal,as most patients have mild symptoms and good prognosis1,2.However,according to the Chinese government’s daily report,13.2–21.3%of patients with 2019-nCoV infection developed into severe or fatal illness(Fig.S1a),which is characterized by the rapid development to acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)or septic shock.Along with an increasing number of confirmed cases, the cumulative total of severe patients with 2019-nCoV is growing(Fig.S1b).Treatment of these critically ill patients is becoming one of the major challenges we are facing. | Wei Zhou Yisi Liu Dongdong Tian Cheng Wang Sa Wang Jing Cheng Ming Hu Minghao Fang Yue Gao | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 1

Comparative analysis reveals epigenomic evolution related to species traits and genomic imprinting in mammals显示文摘DNA methylation is an epigenetic modification that plays a crucial role in various regulatory processes, including gene expression regulation, transposable element repression, and genomic imprinting. However, most studies on DNA methylation have been conducted in humans and other model species, whereas the dynamics of DNA methylation across mammals remain poorly explored, limiting our understanding of epigenomic evolution in mammals and the evolutionary impacts of conserved and lineage-specific DNA methylation. Here,we generated and gathered comparative epigenomic data from 13 mammalian species, including two marsupial species,to demonstrate that DNA methylation plays critical roles in several aspects of gene evolution and species trait evolution. We found that the species-specific DNA methylation of promoters and noncoding elements correlates with species-specific traits such as body patterning, indicating that DNA methylation might help establish or maintain interspecies differences in gene regulation that shape phenotypes. For a broader view,we investigated the evolutionary histories of 88 known imprinting control regions across mammals to identify their evolutionary origins.By analyzing the features of known and newly identified potential imprints in all studied mammals,we found that genomic imprinting may function in embryonic development through the binding of specific transcription factors. Our findings show that DNA methylation and the complex interaction between the genome and epigenome have a significant impact on mammalian evolution, suggesting that evolutionary epigenomics should be incorporated to develop a unified evolutionary theory. | Yisi Hu Shenli Yuan Xin Du Jiang Liu Wenliang Zhou Fuwen Wei | 2023 | The Innovation2023,4,3: | 0
Long range dynamic displacement:precision PGC with sub-nanometer resolution in an LWSM interferometer显示文摘We propose a precision phase-generated-carrier(PGC) demodulation method with sub-nanometer resolution that avoids nonlinear errors in a laser wavelength sinusoidal modulation fiber-optic interferometer for long range dynamic displacement sensing.Using orthogonal detection and an AC-DC component extraction scheme, the PGC carrier phase delay(CPD) and laser intensity modulation phase delay can be obtained simultaneously to eliminate the nonlinear error from accompanied optical intensity modulation and CPD.Further,to realize long range displacement sensing,PGC phase modulation depth(PMD),determined by the laser wavelength modulation amplitude and the working distance of the interferometer,is required to maintain an optimal value during measurement, including initial position and dynamic movement.By combining frequency sweeping interference and modified PGC-arctan demodulation to measure real-time working distance, adaptive PMD technology is realized based on proportion control. We construct a fiber-optic Michelson and SIOS commercial interferometer for comparison and perform experiments to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.Experimental results demonstrate that an interferometer with sub-nanometer resolution and nanometer precision over a large range of 400 mm can be realized. | YISI DONG PENG-CHENG HU HAIJIN FU HONGXING YANG RUITAO YANG JIUBIN TAN | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,1: | 0
Regional scientific research benefits threatened-species conservation显示文摘Although conventional wisdom considers knowledge of threatened species’ecology and status essential for conservation, few studies demonstrate this in a quantitative way across many species and within the same political entity. Here,we evaluated the impacts of scientific research against conservation interventions(including funding)and specieslevel correlates, accounting for phylogenetic relatedness;on the conservation of 162 threatened mammal species in China. We did so at three levels:global(all scientific papers published on the species),regional(a subset of the global papers that included at least one author from a local organization)and regional conservation-related(a subset of the regional papers that focused only on ecology and conservation). In addition to protected-area coverage and certain biological traits. | Yisi Hu Zhenhua Luo Colin A.Chapman Stuart L.Pimm Samuel T.Turvey Michael J.Lawes Carlos A.Peres Tien Ming Lee Pengfei Fan | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,6: | 0
The metabolic adaptation in wild vertebrates via omics approaches显示文摘Metabolism is the basis for sustaining life and essential to the adaptive evolution of organisms. With the development of high-throughput sequencing technology, genetic mechanisms of adaptive evolution, including metabolic adaptation, have been extensively resolved by omics approaches, but a deep understanding of genetic and epigenetic metabolic adaptation is still lacking.Exploring metabolic adaptations from genetic and epigenetic perspectives in wild vertebrates is vital to understanding species evolution, especially for the early stages of adaptative evolution.Herein,we summarize the advances in our understanding of metabolic adaptations via omics approaches in wild vertebrates based on three types of cases:extreme environment, periodically changing environment, and changes of species characteristics. We conclude that the understanding of the formation of metabolic adaptations at the genetic level alone can well identify the adaptive genetic variation that has developed during evolution, but cannot resolve the potential impact of metabolic adaptations on the adaptative evolution in the future. Thus,it seems imperative to include epigenomics and metabolomics in the study of adaptation, and that in the future genomic and epigenetic data should be integrated to understand the formation of metabolic adaptation of wild vertebrate organisms. | Xin Du Yisi Hu Guangping Huang Fuwen Wei | 2022 | Life Metabolism2022,1,3: | 0
Cultivating global health professionals: evaluation of a training course to develop international consulting service competence in China显示文摘Background:China’s accelerating development and increasingly important role in global health engagement create a great demand for global health professionals including international consulting experts. This study reported the detailed development and evaluation of an international consulting training for global health workforce. Methods:Based on Kirkpatrick’s model,a mixed-methods approach was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.Quantitative and qualitative data on participants’reaction, learning, and application of the learned knowledge and skills were collected by a training evaluation survey at the ending of training and a follow-up interview in three months after the training.Results:Thirty-six participants attended the training and 34 of them completed quantitative investigation. The training satisfaction evaluations were positive, for which participants rated the training program highly and over 90%of them agreed with the usefulness of the training.About knowledge and skills change, participants showed improved consulting knowledge and skills from pre-to post-training(P<0.001).A total of 23 participants accepted follow-up interview, and most participants applied knowledge and skills learned from the training in their daily work or study. However, only 30.4%of participants applied their learning in the consulting program. The largest barrier of application was the lack of consulting opportunities. In addition, almost all the participants reported that they would be glad to attend more training courses in the future. Conclusion:The international consulting training program was well-received,and was feasible to improve the consulting service competence of global health professionals.According to participants’feedback,it is essential to develop and expand consulting training in the field of global health. | Pan Gao Li Guan Yisi Liu Feifei Liu Wenyuan Yu Xiangyu Li Suyang Liu Yuanan Lu Hao Li Hao Xiang | 2020 | Global Health Journal2020,4,2: | 0

Jadomycin B,an Aurora-B kinase inhibitor discovered through virtual screening显示文摘Aurora kinases are clearly implicated in tumorgenesis and have emerged as promising targets for cancer therapy in recent years. In a virtual screening attempt,22 compounds were identified from nearly 15,000 microbial natural products as potential small-molecule inhib- itors of human Aurora-B kinase. When tested in yeast models,2 compounds(one is Jado- mycin B)showed preferential inhibition of ipl1-321(yeast Aurora kinase temperature sen- sitive mutant)than wild type yeast cell, suggesting these compounds are true Aurora kinase inhibitors.Further in vitro biochemical assay using purified recombinant Aurora-B kinase showed Jadomycin B inhibits Aurora-B activity in a dose-dependent fashion while two Jadomycin congeners,Jadomycin S and T,showed no activity. The marked differences in activities of Jadomycins were explained by docking analyses. Our results also showed that Jadomycin B competes with ATP for the kinase active center, which is consistent with our docking prediction.Like other Aurora kinase inhibitors,Jadomycin B also reduced the phos- phorylation of histone H3 on Ser10 in vivo.Cell culture based tests of Jadomycin B activity confirmed previous results that Jadomycin B could induce apoptosis of tumor cells without blocking cell cycle.Above results indicate that Jadomyicn B is a new Aurora B kinase inhibi- tor worthy of further investigation. The SAR(structure and activity relationship)analysis in- dicated that groups attached to the oxazolone ring of Jadomycin were important for its ability to enter the catalytic cleft and occupy the active site to inhibit Aurora-B kinase.Jadomycin offers an ideal scaffold to generate novel derivatives with a hydrophobic side chain on their oxazolone rings, from which we may find Aurora-B inhibitors with improved activity. | Da Huafu Jing Zhang Jian Tingzheng Yan Li Ke Qianyang Yan Changwang Shu Yisi | 2008 | 癌症进展2008,6,3: | 0
