1A promising new class of irradiation tolerant materials:Ti_2ZrHfV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2) high-entropy alloy显示文摘Recently, high-entropy alloys(HEAs) or multi-principal-element alloys with unprecedented physical,chemical, and mechanical properties, have been considered as candidate materials used in advanced reactors due to their promising irradiation resistant behavior. Here, we report a new single-phase bodycentered cubic(BCC) structured Ti_2 ZrHfV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2) HEA possessing excellent irradiation resistance, i.e.,scarcely irradiation hardening and abnormal lattice constant reduction after helium-ion irradiation,which is completely different from conventional alloys. This is the first time to report the abnormal XRD phenomenon of metallic alloys and almost no hardening after irradiation. These excellent properties make it to be a potential candidate material used as core components in next-generation nuclear reactors. 2BRIF-Seq: Bisulfite-Converted Randomly Integrated Fragments Sequencing at the Single-Cell Level显示文摘Single-cell bisulfite sequencing (scBS-seq) was developed to assess DNA methylation heterogeneity in human and mouse. However, the reads are under-represented in regions with high DNA methylation, because these regions are usually fragmented into long segments and are seldom sequenced on the lllumina plat. form. To reduce the read distribution bias and maximize the use of these long segments, we developed bisulfite-converted randomly integrated fragments sequencing (BRIF-seq), a method with high rates of read mapping and genome coverage. Single microspore of maize, which has a highly methylated and repetitive genome, was used to perform BRIF.seq. High coverage of the haploid genome was obtained to evaluate the methylation states of CG, CHG, and CHH (H = A, C, or T). Compared with scBS-seq, BRIF-seq produced reads that were distributed more evenly across the genome, including regions with high DNA methylation. Surprisingly, the methylation rates among the four microspores within one tetrad were similar, but differed significantly among tetrads, suggesting that non-simultaneous methylation reprogramming could occur among tetrads. Similar levels of heterogeneity, which often occur in lowcopy regions, were detected in different genetic backgrounds. 3Relationship between full-thickness macular hole and retinal break/lattice degeneration显示文摘Background: The purpose is to investigate the relationship between full-thickness macular hole(MH) and retinal break(RB) and/or lattice degeneration.Methods: Patients diagnosed as full-thickness MH and referred to Dr. Lin Lu from January 2009 to December 2013 were evaluated. All patients underwent general ophthalmologic examinations, fundus examination and optical coherence tomography(OCT). The RB and/or lattice degeneration were recorded.Results: Totally 183 eyes of 167 patients were included. The sex ratio of men to women was 1:2.88. A total of 17 eyes were pseudophakic and 166 eyes were phakic. RB and/or lattice degeneration were found in 62 eyes(33.88%). The prevalence of RB and/or lattice degeneration was similar between men and women(P=0.344>0.05). There was no statistical difference between the pseudophakic eyes and phakic eyes(P=0.138>0.05). All of the RB and/or lattice degeneration were located near or anterior to the equator. The inferior quadrants and the vertical meridian were af ected more often than the superior quadrants and the horizontal meridian.Conclusions: We identified a high incidence of RB/lattice degeneration in cases of full-thickness MH. 5Graphene oxide coated three-dimensional printed biphasic calcium phosphate scaffold for angiogenic and osteogenic synergy in repairing critical-size bone defect显示文摘The custom-tailored medicine requires a developmental strategy that integrates excellent osteogene-sis with mechanical stability to enhance the reconstruction of the critical-size bone defect(CSBD)and the healing process in weight-bearing bone.We prepared three-dimensional(3D)printed biphasic cal-cium phosphate(BCP)scaffolds composited with nano-graphene oxide(GO).The biological effects of the GO/BCP composite scaffolds could induce the differentiation of rat bone marrow stem cells(BM-SCs)and the migration of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)for bone repair.The proper ratio of GO in the composite scaffold regulated the composites’surface roughness and hydrophilicity to a suitable range for the adhesion and proliferation of BMSCs and HUVECs.Besides,the GO/BCP composite scaffold increased osteogenesis and angiogenesis by activating BMP-2,RUNX-2,Smad1/4,and VEGF.The customized intramedullary nail combined with GO/BCP scaffold was applied to repair CSBD(2.0 cm in length)in a beagle femur model.This fixation strategy was confirmed by finite element analysis.In vivo,the results indicated that the custom-made internal fixation provided sufficient stability in the early stage,ensuring bone healing in a considerable mechanical environment.At 9 months postoperatively,longitudi-nal bony union and blood vessels in osteon were observed in the CSBD area with partial degradation in the 0.3%GO/BCP group.In the three-point bending test,the ultimate load of 0.3%GO/BCP group reached over 50%of the normal femur at 9 months after repair.These results showed a promising application of osteogenic GO/BCP scaffold and custom-made intramedullary nails in repairing CSBD of the beagle femur.This effective strategy could provide an option to treat the clinical CSBD in weight-bearing bones.Yitian Wang Yonghao Wu Yuqi Zhang Xiangfeng Li Li Min Quanle Cao Yi Luo Xiao Yang Minxun Lu Yong Zhou Xiangdong Zhu Chongqi Tu Xingdong Zhang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,14:1

9Observation of Persistent Fundus Fluorescence after Internal Limiting Membrane Peeling Assisted by Indocyanine Green Solution of Different Concentrations显示文摘Purpose:To investigate how long indocyanine green (ICG) remains in the fundus after vitreoretinal surgery assisted with ICG,and to identify factors that influence the persistence duration.Methods:Fifty five eyes diagnosed as idiopathic macular hole (Stage 2 and 3) were randomly divided into five groups.ICG solution at concentrations of 5,2.5,2.5,1.25,and 0.5 mg/ml,employed in cases of Group I to V respectively,was applied to stain the internal limiting membrane(ILM) during the procedure of internal limiting membrane peeling..A prospective study was carried out after pars plana vitrectomy and ILM peeling were performed on 55 eyes with Stage 2,3,or 4 idiopathic macular holes..Infrared fundus pictures were obtained in all patients before and after surgery.Results:High levels of fluorescence from residual ICG (ICG hyperfluorescence) were mainly localized at the posterior pole of the fundus after surgery.In Group Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ and Ⅴ,the duration of persistence of flurorescence from ICG was 8.33±0.87,3.59±0.94,3.75±0.79,2.30±0.48,and 1.29±0.49 months,respectively.Although no significant difference was detected between Group Ⅱ and Group Ⅲ,the general inter-group difference was significant among the five groups in which different ICG concentration was applied.In Group Ⅲ,even though 90% of the macular holes acquired anatomical closure,ICG hyperfluorescence was detected in the macular area.Conclusion:ICG remains in the fundus for a period of months.The persistence duration of fluorescence from ICG is positively correlated with the concentration and the staining time of ICG.Hyaluronan is beneficial in reducing the amount of ICG residue in the macular area.Jinglin Zhang Lin Lu Yonghao Li Shiyi Li Xinhua Huang 2011Eye Science2011,26,1:1
10Preliminary Clinical Observation of Arteriovenous Sheathotomy for Treatment of Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion显示文摘Purpose: To document the anatomic and functional improvement of six patients withbranch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) following successful arteriovenous adventitialsheathotomy (AAS).Methods: Retrospective study of 6 patients (6 eyes) with BRVO treated with AAS. Allpatients were not eligible for laser photocoagulation and had both macular edema andintraretinal hemorrhage. The visual acuity was in the range of 0.4 to 0.02. All patientsunderwent pars plana vitrectomy and AAS. The clinical improvement was determined byfundus photograph, fluorescein angiography (FAG), optical coherence tomography(OCT) and multifocal electroretinography (ERG). All patients were followedpostoperatively for an average of 20 months ranging from 12 to 24 months.Results: Sheathotomy and decompression of the arteriole/venule (A/V) crossing wereachieved in all 6 patients. 5 patients have improved their best-corrected visual acuity 4lines or more. The best one could reach to 1.0. One month after the operation, fundusphotograph and FAG demonstrated the resolution of intraretinal hemorrhage, reduction ofnon-perfusion area and apparent resolution of retinal venous dilation and tortuosity. OCTconfirmed remarkable reduction of retinal thickness. The microcysts at the foveadiminished. Multifocal ERG showed the recovery of the central peak at the macular andthe peripheral response density. However, capillary nonperfusion area andmicroaneurysm were found out by FAG in four patients at the points distal to thesheathotomy three months after the operation.Conclusions: Anatomic and functional improvement of retina can be achieved in patientswith BRV0 through AAS. However, the capillary nonperfusion and microaneurysm mayfollow this surgical procedure in some cases that need further treatment with laserphotocoagulation. 11Cu_(2)Sb decorated Cu nanowire arrays for selective electrocatalytic CO_(2)to CO conversion显示文摘The advancement of cost-effective and selective electrocatalyst towards CO_(2) to CO conversion is crucial for renewable energy conversion and storage,thus to achieve carbon-neutral cycle in a sustainable manner.In this communication,we report that CujSb decorated Cu nanowire arrays on Cu foil act as a highly active and selective electrocatalyst for CO_(2) to CO conversion.In CO_(2)-saturated 0.1 M KHCO_(3),it achieves a high Faraday efficiency(FE)of 86.5%for CO,at-0.90 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE).The H_(2)/CO ratio is tunable from 0.08:1 to 5.9:1 by adjusting the potential.It is worth noting that HCOO-product was totally suppressed on such catalyst,compared with Sb counterpart.The improving selectivity for CO could be attributed to the bimetallic effect and nanowire arrays structure.Shiyong Mou Yonghao Li Luchao Yue Jie Liang Yonglan Luo Qian Liu Tingshuai Li Siyu Lu Abdullah M.Asiri Xiaoli Xiong Dongwei Ma Xuping Sun 2021Nano Research2021,14,8:1

13Folic acid supplement rescues ethanol-induced developmental defects in the zebrafish embryos显示文摘Fetal alcohol syndrome(FASD)describes a range of birth defects.Mechanisms of FASD-associated defects are not well understood.It has great significance to investigate whether nutrient sup-plements like folic acid(FA)can effectively rescue etha nol-induced defects.Moreover,it is very important to determine the optimal time for FA supplementation when it can most effectively antagonize the teratogenic effects of ethanol during embryonic development.Our results indicated that ethanol exposure interrupted the development of zebrafish embryos and induced multiple defects in cardiac function,pharyngeal arch arteries,vessel,craniofacial cartilage,pharyngeal arches,brain,somite and hemoglobin formation.The expressions of critical genes that play important roles in above organs such as tbx1,flk-1,|hand2,ngn1,huc,titin,gata-1 and c-myb were reduced,and the apoptosis was increased in ethanol-treated group.FA supplementation could reverse ethanol-induced defects,improve the decreased expressions of above genes and reduce the apoptosis.We also found that giving FA at 6-12 h post-fertilization(hpf),which is at the gastrula period(5.25--10 hpf),can obviously prevent the teratogenicity of ethanol.This research provides clues for elucidating the mechanism of fetal abnormalties caused by alcohol intake and for preventing FASD.Qiu Jiang Ding Lu Feng Wang Yawen Zhang Li Cao Yonghao Gui Shuna Sun 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,5:1
14Surface Oxidation and Subsurface Microstructure Evolution of Alloy 690TT Induced by Partial Slip Fretting Corrosion in High-Temperature Pure Water显示文摘The surface oxidation and subsurface microstructure evolution of Alloy 690 TT can occur during partial slip fretting corrosion in high-temperature pure water.Detailed characterization methods such as laser scanning confocal microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,electron probe micro-analyzer,and transmission electron microscopy were used to reveal the related mechanism.The results showed that Cr_(2)O_(3) oxides together with a small number of spinel oxides were formed in sticking region since a small quantity of high-temperature water could pass through the gaps between the asperities to oxidize the materials.Widespread distribution of oxides in microslip region consisted of(Ni,Fe)Cr_(2)O_(4),because Ni^(2+)and Fe^(2+) ions could react with Cr_(2)O_(3) to generate a small amount of non-stoichiometric spinel oxides.The oxides around micropitting in microslip region consisted of double-layer structure.The outermost layer contained(Fe,Cr)-rich oxides due to the effect of fretting leading to mechanical mixing between Cr_(2)O_(3) and(Ni,Fe)(Fe,Cr)_(2)O_(4).The inner layer consisted of(Fe,Ni)-rich oxides owing to the consumption of Cr_(2)O_(3) by the reaction with Ni^(2+)and Fe^(2+) ions.The reciprocating motion of oxide particles in microslip region resulted in the stress-strain supporting the recrystallization for the formation and development of a tribologically transformed structure in subsurface and plowing effect by fretting in surface.Long Xin Yongming Han Ligong Ling Yonghao Lu Tetsuo Shoji 2021Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,4:0

16Configurable circular-polarization-dependent optoelectronic silent state for ultrahigh light ellipticity discrimination显示文摘Filterless light-ellipticity-sensitive optoelectronic response generally has low discrimination,thus severely hindering the development of monolithic polarization detectors.Here,we achieve a breakthrough based on a configurable circular-polarization-dependent optoelectronic silent state created by the superposition of two photoresponses with enantiomerically opposite ellipticity dependences.The zero photocurrent and the significantly suppressed noise of the optoelectronic silent state singularly enhance the circular polarization extinction ratio(CPER)and the sensitivity to light ellipticity perturbation.The CPER of our device approaches infinity by the traditional definition.The newly established CPER taking noise into account is 3-4 orders of magnitude higher than those of ordinary integrated circular polarization detectors,and it remains high in an expanded wavelength range.The noise equivalent light ellipticity difference goes below 0.009° Hz-1/2 at modulation frequencies above 1000 Hz by a light power of 281 uW.This scheme brings a leap in developing monolithic ultracompact circular polarization detectors.Yonghao Bu Xiansong Ren Jing Zhou Zhenhan Zhang Jie Deng Hangyu Xu Runzhang Xie Tianxin Li Weida Hu Xia Guo Wei Lu Xiaoshuang Chen 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,8:0
17Dislocation me diate d dynamic tension-compression asymmetry of a Ni_(2)CoFeV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2) medium entropy alloy显示文摘Although tension-compression(T-C)asymmetry in yield strength was rarely documented in coarse-grained face centered cubic(FCC)metals as critical resolved shear stress(CRSS)for dislocation slip differs little between tension and compression,the T-C asymmetry in strength,i.e.,higher strength when loaded in compression than in tension,was reported in some FCC high entropy alloys(HEAs)due to twinning and phase transitions activated at high strain regimes in compression.In this paper,we demonstrate a reversed and atypical tension-compression asymmetry(tensile strength markedly exceeds compressive strength)in a non-equiatomic FCC Ni_(2)CoFeV_(0.5)Mo_(0.2) medium entropy alloy(MEA)under dynamic loading,wherein dislocation slip governs dynamic deformation without twins or phase transitions.The asymme-try can be primarily interpreted as higher CRSS and more hard slip modes(lower average Schmid factor)activated in grains under dynamic tension than compression.Besides,larger strain rate sensitivity in dy-namic tension overwhelmingly contributes to the higher flow stress,thanks to the occurrence of more immobile Lomer-locks,narrower spacing of planar slip bands and higher dislocation density.This finding may provide some insights into designing MEAs/HEAs with desired properties under extreme conditions such as blast,impact and crash.Ao Meng Xiang Chen Yazhou Guo Yiping Lu Yonghao Zhao 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,28:0
18Excellent strength-ductility combination of Cr_(26)Mn_(20)Fe_(20)Co20Ni_(14) high-entropy alloy at cryogenic temperatures显示文摘In the present study,a face-centered cubic non-equiatomic Cr_(26)Mn_(20)Fe_(20)Co20Ni_(14) high-entropy alloy(HEA)with a low stacking fault energy of 17.6 mJ m^(−2) was prepared by vacuum induction melting,forging and annealing processes.The recrystallized sample is revealed to exhibit an excellent combination of strength and ductility over a wide temperature range of 4.2–293 K.With decreasing temperature from 293 to 77 K,the ductility and ultimate tensile strength(UTS)gradually increase by 30% to 95% and 137% to 1020 MPa,respectively.At the lowest temperature of 4.2 K,the ductility keeps 65% and the UTS increases by 200% to 1300 MPa,which exceed those published in the literature,including conventional 300 series stainless steels.Detailed microstructural analyses of this alloy reveal a change of deformation mechanisms from dislocation slip and nano-twinning at 293 K to nano-phase transformation at 4.2 K.The cooperation and competition of multiple nano-twinning and nano-phase transformation are responsible for the superior tensile properties at cryogenic temperatures.Our study provides experimental evidence for potential cryogenic applications of HEAs.Xuzhou Gao Wei Jiang Yiping Lu Zhigang Ding Jizi Liu Wei Liu Gang Sha Tongming Wang Tingju Li Isaac T.H.Chang Yonghao Zhao 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,23:0
