4ANALYSIS OF 2-D THIN STRUCTURES BY THE MESHLESS REGULAR HYBRID BOUNDARY NODE METHOD显示文摘Thin structures are generally solved by the Finite Element Method(FEM),using plate orshell finite elements which have many limitations in applications,such as numerical locking,edge effects,length scaling and the cnvergence problem.Recently,by proposing a new approach to treating the nearly-siagnlar integrals,Liu et al.developed a BEM to successfully solve thin structures with the thickness-to-length ratios in the micro-or nano-scales.On the other hand,the meshless Regular Hybrid Boundary NodeMethod(RHBNM),which is proposed by the current authors and based on a modified functional and theMoving Least-Square(MIS)approximation,has very promising applications for engineering problems owingto its meshless nature and dimension-reduction advantage,and not involving any singular or nearly-singularintegrals.Test examples show that the RHBNM can also be applied readily to thin structures with high accu-racy without any modification.Zhang Jianming Yao Zhenhan 2002Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2002,15,1:8
5Dextral-Slip Thrust Faulting and Seismic Events of the Ms 8.0 Wenchuan Earthquake,Longmenshan Mountains,Eastern Margin of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Dextral-slip thrust movement of the Songpan-Garzê terrain over the Sichuan block caused the M_s 8.0 Wenchuan earthquake of May 12,2008 and offset the Central Longmenshan Fault(CLF) along a distance of~250 km.Displacement along the CLF changes from Yingxiu to Qingchuan.The total oblique slip of up to 7.6 m in Yingxiu near the epicenter of the earthquake,decreases northeastward to 5.3 m,6.6 m,4.4 m,2.5 m and 1.1 m in Hongkou,Beichuan,Pingtong,Nanba and Qingchuan,respectively.This offset apparently occurred during a sequence of four reported seismic events,EQ1-EQ4,which were identified by seismic inversion of the source mechanism.These events occurred in rapid succession as the fault break propagated northeastward during the earthquake. Variations in the plunge of slickensides along the CLF appear to match these events.The Mw 7.5 EQ1 event occurred during the first 0-10 s along the Yingxiu-Hongkou section of the CLF and is characterized by 1.7 m vertical slip and vertical slickensides.The Mw 8.0 EQ2 event,which occurred during the next 10-42 s along the Yingxiu-Yanziyan section of the CLF,is marked by major dextralslip with minor thrust and slickensides plunging 25°-35°southwestward.The Mw 7.5 EQ3 event occurred during the following 42-60 s and resulted in dextral-slip and slickensides plunging 10°southwestward in Beichuan and plunging 73°southwestward in Hongkou.The Mw 7.7 EQ4 event, which occurred during the final 60-95 s along the Beichuan-Qingchuan section of the CLF,is characterized by nearly equal values of dextral and vertical slips with slickensides plunging 45°-50°southwestward.These seismic events match and evidently controlled the concentrations of landslide dams caused by the Wenchuan earthquake in Longmenshan Mountains.WU Zhenhan DONG Shuwen Patrick J. 7ESR Dating of the Evolution of the Shuanghu Basin in the Northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Shuanghu basin is a NE-trending rift basin bounded by NE-striking normal faults and NW-striking shear-extensional faults of the northern Tibetan Plateau. Four samples from calcite veins in marginal faults and one sample from mudstone (S-3) were collected for dating the evolution of the Shuanghu basin by using the ESR spectrograph of EXM-type. Ages were calculated according to the close-equilibrium model on the basis of the measured ESR signal spectra of samples, providing good chronological information. 9Tectonics and Topography of the Tibetan Plateau in Early Miocene显示文摘Early Miocene stratigraphy, major structural systems, magmatic emplacement, volcanic eruption, vegetation change and paleo-elevation were analyzed for the Tibetan Plateau after regional geological mapping at a scale of 1:250,000 and related researches, revealing much more information for tectonic evolution and topographic change of the high plateau caused by Indian-Asian continental collision. Lacustrine deposits of dolostone, dolomite limestone, limestone, marl, sandstone and conglomerate of weak deformation formed extensively in the central Tibetan Plateau, indicating that vast lake complexes as large as 100,000–120,000 km2 existed in the central plateau during Early Miocene. Sporopollen assemblages contained in the lacustrine strata indicate the disappearance of most tropical-subtropical broad-leaved trees since Early Miocene and the flourishing of dark needleleaved trees during Early Miocene. Such vegetation changes adjusted for latitude and global climate variations demonstrate that the central Tibetan Plateau rose to ca. 4,000–4,500 m and the northeastern plateau uplifted to ca. 3,500–4,000 m before the Early Miocene. Intensive thrust and crustal thickening occurred in the areas surrounding central Tibetan Plateau in Early Miocene, formed Gangdise Thrust System(GTS) in the southern Lhasa block, Zedong-Renbu Thrust(ZRT) in the northern Himalaya block, Main Central Thrust(MCT) and Main Boundary Thrust(MBT) in the southern Himalaya block, and regional thrust systems in the Qaidam, Qilian, West Kunlun and Songpan-Ganzi blocks. Foreland basins formed in Early Miocene along major thrust systems, e.g. the Siwalik basin along MCT, Yalung-Zangbu Basin along GTS and ZRT, southwestern Tarim depression along West Kunlun Thrust, and large foreland basins along major thrust systems in the northeastern margin of the plateau. Intensive volcanic eruptions formed in the Qiangtang, Hoh-Xil and Kunlun blocks, porphyry granites and volcanic eruptions formed in the Nainqentanglha and Gangdise Mts., and leucogranites and granites formed in the Himalaya and Longmenshan Mts. in Early Miocene. The K2O weight percentages of Early Miocene magmatic rocks in the Gangdise and Himlayan Mts. are found to increase with distance from the MBT, indicating the genetic relationship between regional magmatism and subduction of Indian continental plate in Early Miocene.WU Zhenhan YANG Yan Patrick J. 10Ordovician Granitoids and Silurian Mafic Dikes in the Western Kunlun Orogen, Northwest China:Implications for Evolution of the Proto-Tethys显示文摘The western Kunlun orogen in the northwest Tibet Plateau is related to subduction and collision of Proto-and Paleo-Tethys from early Paleozoic to early Mesozoic. This paper presents new LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb ages and Lu-Hf isotopes, whole-rock major and trace elements, and Sr–Nd isotopes of two Ordovician granitoid plutons(466–455 Ma) and their Silurian mafic dikes(~436 Ma) in the western Kunlun orogen. These granitoids show peraluminous high-K calcalkaline characteristics, with(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)_i value of 0.7129–0.7224, ε_(Nd)(t) values of -9.3 to -7.0 and zircon ε_(Hf)(t) values of -17.3 to -0.2, indicating that they were formed by partial melting of ancient lower-crust(metaigneous rocks mixed with metasedimentary rocks) with some mantle materials in response to subduction of the Proto-Tethyan Ocean and following collision. The Silurian mafic dikes were considered to have been derived from a low degree of partial melting of primary mafic magma. These mafic dikes show initial ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of 0.7101–0.7152 and ε_(Nd)(t) values of -3.8 to -3.4 and zircon ε_(Hf)(t) values of -8.8 to -4.9, indicating that they were derived from enriched mantle in response to post-collisional slab break-off. 15Montel-Type Theorems in Several Complex Variables with Continuously Moving Targets显示文摘The authors introduce a new idea related to Montel-type theorems in higher dimension and prove some Montel-type criteria for normal families of holomorphic mappings and normal holomorphic mappings of several complex variables into PN(C) for continuously moving hyperplanes in pointwise general position. The main results are also true for continuously moving hypersurfaces in pointwise general position. 16A Thickness Gauge for the Lithosphere Based on Ce/Yb and Sm/Yb of Mantle–Derived Magmatic Rocks显示文摘A new method for determining the partial melting depth of mantle-derived magma and lithospheric thickness in continental regions is derived from REE geochemistry. This effective technique uses variations in the Ce/Yb and Sm/Yb ratios found in mainly volcanic rocks in continental China. The ratios change with the depth of origin consistent with the correlation between lithospheric thickness and the Ce/Yb and Sm/Yb ratios found in oceanic basalt. These ratios increase exponentially with the depth of origin, the lithospheric thickness, of a wide variety of Cenozoic volcanic basalt and Paleozoic kimberlite in the North China Craton, northeastern China continent and vicinity. This functional relationship with depth is shown in a plot of the ratios that forms a concordia curve, which is closely expressed by formulas using 8–degree polynomials. These provide a more accurate gage in measuring the lithospheric thickness than the traditional geophysical methods. When applied to volcanic rock of different ages it also reveals how the thickness has changed over time and thus, greatly aids the understanding of the tectonic history. Relations between the CO_2 content, mineral reactions and pressure in the upper asthenosphere beneath the base of the lithosphere appears to affect the proportions of REE in partial melts and brings about a close correlation between lithospheric thickness and the Ce/Yb and Sm/Yb ratios in mantle–derived magmatic rock. This thickness gauge, for both continental and oceanic lithosphere, provides a new approach in analyzing the lithospheric thickness in different tectonic settings and geologic times.WU Zhenhan Patrick J. 17Shifts in the bacterial community caused by combined pollutant loads in the North Canal River, China显示文摘A typical anthropogenically disturbed urban river polluted by a combination of conventional pollutants(nitrogen and phosphorus pollution)and heavy metals was investigated along a 238 km stretch.Changes in the bacterial community were evaluated using high-throughput sequencing,and the relationships between bacteria,heavy metals,and conventional pollutants were investigated.There was large spatial heterogeneity in the bacterial community along the river,and bacterial diversity in the upstream and midstream sections was much higher than in the downstream section.Heavy metals and conventional pollutants both exhibited close correlations with bacterial diversity and composition.For instance,potential fecal indicator bacteria,sewage indicator bacteria and pathogenic bacteria,such as Ruminococcus and Pseudomonas,were closely associated with Cu,Zn,and NH_(4)^(+)-N.Rather than conventional pollutants,heavy metals were the main driving factors of the microbial community characteristics.These results confirm that bacterial communities play a crucial role in biogeochemical cycles.Therefore,heavymetals could be used as biomarkers of complex pollution to indicate the pollution status of riverine ecosystems and contribute to the restoration of habitats in anthropogenically disturbed urban rivers.Shengguang Yuan Wenqiang Zhang Wenye Li Zhenhan Li Minshan Wu Baoqing Shan 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5:0

19Configurable circular-polarization-dependent optoelectronic silent state for ultrahigh light ellipticity discrimination显示文摘Filterless light-ellipticity-sensitive optoelectronic response generally has low discrimination,thus severely hindering the development of monolithic polarization detectors.Here,we achieve a breakthrough based on a configurable circular-polarization-dependent optoelectronic silent state created by the superposition of two photoresponses with enantiomerically opposite ellipticity dependences.The zero photocurrent and the significantly suppressed noise of the optoelectronic silent state singularly enhance the circular polarization extinction ratio(CPER)and the sensitivity to light ellipticity perturbation.The CPER of our device approaches infinity by the traditional definition.The newly established CPER taking noise into account is 3-4 orders of magnitude higher than those of ordinary integrated circular polarization detectors,and it remains high in an expanded wavelength range.The noise equivalent light ellipticity difference goes below 0.009° Hz-1/2 at modulation frequencies above 1000 Hz by a light power of 281 uW.This scheme brings a leap in developing monolithic ultracompact circular polarization detectors.Yonghao Bu Xiansong Ren Jing Zhou Zhenhan Zhang Jie Deng Hangyu Xu Runzhang Xie Tianxin Li Weida Hu Xia Guo Wei Lu Xiaoshuang Chen 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,8:0
20Influences of chemical reactions on polysulfide reduction reaction process on promotor surface in Li-S batteries显示文摘Polar promotors have been proven effective in catalyzing the polysulfide(PS)reduction reaction(PSRR)process in lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries.However,the promotor surface tends to be poisoned due to the accumulation of insoluble discharging products of lithium disulfide(Li_(2)S_(2))and lithium sulfide(Li_(2)S)during Li-S battery operation.Herein,we investigate the detailed PSRR mechanism on the surface of manganese sulfides(MnS)as a representative promoter by performing in-situ Raman mapping measurements.The catalytic ability of MnS enables thorough electrochemical reduction of PSs to Li_(2)S_(2) and Li_(2)S on the MnS surface.The generated Li_(2)S_(2) and Li_(2)S then adsorb the dissolved PSs via chemical reactions among sulfur species during the subsequent PSRR process.This phenomenon mitigates promotor poisoning and continuously improves the reversible capacity.Consequently,the assembled Li-S cell demonstrates excellent electrochemical performance after introducing a conductive interlayer containing a thin piece of carbon nanotube film and MnS promotors.Yufeng Luo Zhenhan Fang Zixin Hong Shaorong Duan Haitao Liu Hengcai Wu Qunqing Li Yuegang Zhang Shoushan Fan Wenhui Duan Jiaping Wang 2024Nano Research2024,17,4:0
