| 1 | Effect of valproic acid on endogenous neural stem cell proliferation in a rat model of spinal cord injury显示文摘BACKGROUND:Valproic acid has been reported to decrease apoptosis,promote neuronal differentiation of brain-derived neural stem cells,and inhibit glial differentiation of brain-derived neural stem cells. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of valproic acid on proliferation of endogenous neural stem cells in a rat model of spinal cord injury. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,neuropathological study was performed at Key Laboratory of Trauma,Burrning,and Combined Injury,Research Institute of Surgery,Daping Hospital,the Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA between November 2005 and February 2007. MATERIALS:A total of 45 adult,Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham surgery(n=5),injury (n=20),and valproic acid(n=20) groups.Valproic acid was provided by Sigma,USA. METHODS:Injury was induced to the T_(10) segment in the injury and valproic acid groups using the metal weight-dropping method.The spinal cord was exposed without contusion in the sham surgery group.Rats in the valproic acid group were intraperitoneally injected with 150 mg/kg valproic acid every 12 hours(twice in total). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Nestin expression(5 mm from injured center) was detected using immunohistochemistry at 1,3 days,1,4,and 8 weeks post-injury. RESULTS:Low expression of nestin was observed in the cytoplasm,but rarely in the white matter of the spinal cord in the sham surgery group.In the injury group,nestin expression was observed in the ependyma and pia mater one day after injury,and expression reached a peak at 1 week(P<0.05). Expression was primarily observed in the ependymal cells,which expanded towards the white and gray matter of the spinal cord.Nestin expression rapidly decreased by 4 weeks post-injury,and had almost completely disappeared by 8 weeks.At 24 hours after spinal cord injury,there was no significant difference in nestin expression between the valproic acid and injury groups.At 1 week, there was a significant increase in the number of nestin-positive cells surrounding the central canal in valproic acid group compared with the injury group(P<0.05).Expression reached a peak by 4 weeks,and it was still present at 8 weeks. | 3 | Clinical observation on TCM fumigation and washing for treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy by self-made water-washing footbath显示文摘消渴痹症即糖尿病周围神经病(DPN)是临床上常见的一种疾病,给患者带来极大不适,严重者影响生活,甚至会导致更严重的并发症。治疗方案若能在控制血糖的同时,及时改善双下肢症状,对提高患者生活质量、预防四肢并发症具有积极意义。现就针对自制滤水式洗脚盆用于中药熏洗在治疗消渴痹症中的具体应用做一个全面的研究与分析。本文纳入从2018年3月到2018年4月就诊于我科的DPN患者20例,分为两组,治疗组使用滤水式洗脚盆进行沐足,对照组采用常规木桶进行沐足,每组各10例。研究的结果显示采用自制滤水式熏洗脚盆中药熏洗双足较常规木桶沐足能改善消渴痹症的临床症状,为有双下肢麻木的患者提供一种可选择的外治的方法,可减轻患者痛苦,提高患者生活质量。 | Lu Gan Qing Liu Liping Jin Zheng Yuan Youqiong Zhang | 2019 | TMR Clinical Research2019,2,1: | 0 |
| 4 | Integrated analysis of changes in soil microbiota and metabolites following long-term fertilization in a subtropical maize-wheat agroecosystem显示文摘Although the application of inorganic fertilizer is a widespread agronomic practice used to boost soil productivity and crop yields,the effects on soil microbiome and the metabolic mechanisms involved in the high-yield response of crops to long-term fertilization remain poorly described.In this study,combined metagenomic and metabolomic analyses were used to explore the mechanism of crop yield response to the 20-year application of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizers in a subtropical agroecosystem in Southwest China.Soil bacterial and fungal communities were monitored using16S r RNA(bacteria)and internal transcribed spacer 1(ITS1)full-length gene(fungi)amplicon sequencing technologies,and metabolites were detected using a liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer.The results revealed that,in addition to providing nutrients,long-term fertilization shaped the compositions of bacteria and fungi to increase crop yields.Long-term fertilization significantly increased the relative abundances of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and promoted the secretion of soil metabolites such as carbohydrates,organic acids,and organic nitrogen compounds,which were primarily enriched in amino acid metabolism pathways.The increases in carbon and nitrogen sources and bioactive substances in soil promoted the increases in plant biomass and thereby maintained soil quality and production capacity.The findings highlighted the importance of soil metabolites in maintaining soil productivity as well as crop yields,and suggested that regulating key metabolites could increase crop yields in agroecosystems. | Guiru ZHAO Kaixian WU Tongxin AN Lu WEN Shuhui ZI Zhiwei FAN Feng ZHOU Chengren OUYANG Youqiong YANG Bozhi WU Michael AFULLEN | 2023 | Pedosphere2023,33,3: | 0 |
