1Microwave assisted atmospheric acid leaching of nickel from laterite ore显示文摘The recovery of nickel from laterite ore with sulphuric acid under the effect of microwave irradiation was studied.The experimental results indicated that the extraction rate of nickel was influenced by reaction time,sulphuric acid concentration,and temperature,especially by microwave power.The results obtained from the experiments of orthogonal arrays showed that the optimum conditions of sulphuric acid concentration,reaction time,microwave power,and temperature were 25 vol.%,1.5 h,600 W,and 90°C,respectively.Under the optimal conditions,the nickel recovery could reach approximately 90.8%,which was higher than that obtained by conventional water bath heating.Kinetic experiments showed that the leaching of nickel in a sulphuric acid medium was controlled by chemical reaction occurring on the surface of laterite ore.The apparent activation energy was 38.9 kJ/mol.Microwave heating technology is efficient,clean,and easy to control and facilitate continuous processing of materials.CHE Xiaokui SU Xiuzhu CHI Ru'an YU Junxia 2010Rare Metals2010,29,3:7
2The zinc transporter Slc39a5 controls glucose sensing and insulin secretion in pancreatic β-cells via Sirt1- and Pgc-1α-mediated regulation of Glut2显示文摘Zinc levels are high in pancreatic β-cells, and zinc is involved in the synthesis, processing and secretion of insulin in these cells. However, precisely how cellular zinc homeostasis is regulated in pancreatic β-cells is poorly understood. By screening the expression of 14 Slc39a metal importer family member genes, we found that the zinc transporter Slc39a5 is significantly downregulated in pancreatic β-cells in diabetic db/db mice, obese ob/ob mice and high-fat diet-fed mice. Moreover,β-cell-specific Slc39a5 knockout mice have impaired insulin secretion. In addition, Slc39a5-deficient pancreatic islets have reduced glucose tolerance accompanied by reduced expression of Pgc-1α and its downstream target gene Glut2. The down-regulation of Glut2 in Slc39a5-deficient islets was rescued using agonists of Sirt1, Pgc-1α and Ppar-γ. At the mechanistic level, we found that Slc39a5-mediated zinc influx induces Glut2 expression via Sirt1-mediated Pgc-1α activation. 3Chlorobenzenes Contamination in Soils/Sediments at a Site of Decommissioned Plant in Central China显示文摘China is one of the most important producers and suppliers of the chlorobenzenes(CBs), accounting for more than 50% of the world production. Although CBs contamination at the sites of chemical production factories is well-known, the knowledge on spatial distribution and contaminated degree of CBs are still limited. To better understand the occurrence of CBs, a total of 161 soil/sediment samples were collected from 36 sampling points within a 20 m deep from a site of decommissioned chlorobenzenes-producing factory in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, central China. The results showed that monochlorobenzene(MCB) is the predominant contaminants with the ΣCBs levels ranging from 0.05 to 8 600 mg/kg dry weight(dw) with a mean value of 384 mg/kg dw. The vertical distribution of CBs indicated that CBs may have clearly transported to deeper sections in the subsurface. 5Synthesis and gelation behaviors of five new dimeric cholesteryl derivatives显示文摘Five new diacid amides of di-cholesteryl L-glycinates were designed and prepared.The compounds with linkers containing 0,1, 2,3,or 4 methylene units are denoted as 1,2,3,4,and 5,respectively.Their gelation behaviors in 25 solvents were tested as novel low-molecular-mass organic gelators(LMOGs).It was shown that the length of the linker connecting the two-cholesteryl residues in a gelator plays a crucial role in the gelation behavior of the compound.1 gels 11 of the 25 solvents tested at a concentration lower than 1.0%,while 2 gels 17 of the solvents tested.4 and 5,however,gel only 2 and 4 of them,respectively. SEM observation reveals that the lengths of the linkers and the identity of the solvents are the main factors affecting the structures of the aggregates in the gels.Experimentally,a clear linker effect on the microstructures of the gels was observed.As example,the aggregates of 1,2 and 3 in benzene or 1-heptanol adopt structures of thin fibers,rods or lamellas,respectively. 6Dynamic Microwave-Assisted Extraction of Total Ginsenosides from Ginseng Fibrous Roots显示文摘A dynamic microwave-assisted extraction(DMAE) method is established for the extraction of total ginsenosides from ginseng fibrous roots. The extraction process has been simulated and its main affection factors(liquid/solid ratio K of solvent to ginseng powders(V/m), irradiation time, irradiation temperature, extracting solution concentration, flow rate of solvent and microwave power) have been optimized by response surface methodology(RSM). The optimum conditions of extraction are the liquid/solid ratio of 270 m L/g, the extraction temperature of 75 ℃, the extraction time of 35 min, ethanol concentration of 70%(V/V), the solvent flow rate of 1.3 m L/min, and the microwave power of 500 W. The yield of ginsenosides obtained by the proposed DAME method is(15.0±0.7) %, which is well agreement with the yield predicted by the model. 9Engineering of a universal polymeric nanoparticle platform to optimize the PEG density for photodynamic therapy显示文摘Nanocarrier-mediated photodynamic therapy(PDT)has attracted extensive attention due to its locoregional therapeutic effect,minimal toxicity to normal tissues,and activation of immune system capability.However,it is still unclear how the physicochemical properties of nanocarriers affect their PDT therapeutic efficacies,which could be very different from those for chemotherapy.Herein,to demonstrate the effect of PEG density on PDT efficacy,we synthesized a series of random polyphosphoesters(PPEs)with different PEG contents by regulating the molar ratios of these monomers,and then these PPEs were used to prepare chlorin e6(Ce6)-loaded polymeric nanoparticles with tunable PEG density.Thereafter,the PDT efficacies of these nanoparticles were carefully and comprehensively evaluated.We demonstrate that the moderate PEG density(3.01 PEG/nm^2)of nanocarrier exhibited the best PDT therapeutic efficacy in a mouse model of pancreatic cancer due to its efficient balance of prolonged circulation and tumor cellular uptake.Xixi Yang Jie Li Yue Yu Junxia Wang Dongdong Li Ziyang Cao Xianzhu Yang 2019Science China Chemistry2019,62,10:1

14Matrix Effects of Fourteen Organophosphorus Pesticides Residues in Nine Kinds of Vegetable Matrices显示文摘The matrix effects of 14 organophosphorus pesticides in 9 kinds of vegetables matrices were preliminarily studied by gas chromatography /flame photometric detection( FPD) in the paper. The matrix effects of 14 organophosphorus pesticides in 9 kinds of vegetable matrices at 0. 05,0. 1 and 0. 2 mg / L were compared,respectively. 15Thermally assisted switching in FePt single-domain particles with a Gaussian distribution of temperature显示文摘Magnetic nanoscale systems,including nanodots,nanofibers,nanowires and nanoparticles,are currently attracting great interest due to their interesting physical and promising applications in various fields,such as magnetic recording,sensors,target drugs and catalysts,as well as others.To achieve ultrahigh recording density,the method of heat assisted magnetic recording(HAMR) has been introduced.In this work,with the help of a Monte Carlo method,the mechanisms of thermally assisted magnetization switching in FePt single-domain particles driven by an external magnetic field are investigated,where the temperature in the particles is assumed to follow a Gaussian distribution.Two nucleation modes are observed for different distributions of temperature.One is initiated by many droplets,which join each other at the boundary of the system;the other is ini-tiated by many droplets at the boundary,but in growth tending toward the inner part of the system.An inverse proportional relationship between the metastable lifetime and the distribution is also found.TANG Ke YANG HongJie CAO LinHong YU HongTao LIU JinSong WANG JunXia 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,7:1

17Monitoring and Modeling the Effects of Groundwater Flow on Arsenic Transport in Datong Basin显示文摘Although arsenic-contaminated groundwater in the Datong Basin has been studied for more than 10 years, little has been known about the complex patterns of solute transport in the aquifer systems. Field monitoring and transient 3D unsaturated groundwater flow modeling studies were carried out on the riparian zone of the Sanggan River at the Datong Basin, northern China, to better understand the effects of groundwater flow on As mobilization and transport. The results indicate that irrigation is the primary factor in determining the groundwater flow paths. Irrigation can not only increase groundwater level and reduce horizontal groundwater velocity and thereby accelerate vertical and horizontal groundwater exchange among sand, silt and clay formations, but also change the HSconcentration, redox conditions of the shallow groundwater. Results of net groundwater flux estimation suggest that vertical infiltration is likely the primary control of As transport in the vadose zone, while horizontal water exchange is dominant in controlling As migration within the sand aquifers. Recharge water, including irrigation return water and flushed saltwater, travels downward from the ground surface to the aquifer and then nearly horizontally across the sand aquifer. 20A 2D Staggered Multi-Material ALE Code Using MOF Interface Reconstruction显示文摘Hydrocodes are necessary numerical tools in the fields of implosion and high-velocity impact,which often involve large deformations with changing-topology interfaces.It is very difficult for Lagrangian or Simplified Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian(SALE)codes to tackle these kinds of large-deformation problems,so a stag-gered Multi-Material ALE(MMALE)code is developed in this paper,which is the explicit time-marching Lagrange plus remap type.We use the Moment Of Fluid(MOF)method to reconstruct the interfaces of multi-material cells and present an adaptive bisection method to search for the global minimum value of the nonlinear objective function.To keep the Lagrangian computations as long as possible,we develop a ro-bust rezoning method named as Combined Rezoning Method(CRM)to generate the convex,smooth grids for the large-deformation domain.Regarding the staggered remap phase,we use two methods to remap the variables of Lagrangian mesh to the rezoned one.One is the first-order intersection-based remapping method that doesn’t limit the distances between the rezoned and Lagrangian meshes,so it can be used in the applications of wide scope.The other one is the conservative second-order flux-based remapping method developed by Kucharika and Shashkov[22]that requires the rezoned element to locate in its adjacent old elements.Numerical results of triple point problem show that the result of first-order remapping method using ALE computations is gradually convergent to that of second-order remapping method using Eulerian computations with the decrease of rezoning,thereby telling us that MMALE computations should be performed as few as possible to reduce the errors of the interface reconstruction and the remapping.Numerical results provide a clear evidence of the robustness and the accuracy of this MMALE scheme,and that our MMALE code is powerful for the large-deformation problems.Yibing Chen Junxia Cheng Liang Pan Haihua Yang Heng Yong Xin Yu 2021Numerical Mathematics(Theory,Methods and Applications)2021,14,1:0
