1Simultaneous changes in seed size, oil content and protein content driven by selection of SM/EEIhomologues during soybean domestication显示文摘Soybean accounts for more than half of the global production of oilseed and more than a quarter of the protein used globally for human food and animal feed.Soybean domestication involved parallel increases in seed size and oil content,and a concomitant decrease in protein content.However,science has not yet discovered whether these effects were due to selective pressure on a single gene or multiple genes.Here,re-sequencing data from>800 genotypes revealed a strong selection during soybean domestication on GmSWEETlOa.The selection of GmSWEETlOa conferred simultaneous increases in soybean-seed size and oil content as well as a reduction in the protein content.The result was validated using both near-isogenic lines carrying substitution of haplotype chromosomal segments and transgenic soybeans.Moreover,GmSWEETlOb was found to be functionally redundant with its homologue GmSWEETlOa and to be undergoing selection in current breeding,leading the the elite allele GrnSWEETlOb,a potential target for present-day soybean breeding.Both GmSWEETlOa and GmSWEETlOb were shown to transport sucrose and hexose,contributing to sugar allocation from seed coat to embryo,which consequently determines oil and protein contents and seed size in soybean.We conclude that past selection of optimal GmSWEETlOa alleles drove the initial domestication of multiple soybean-seed traits and that targeted selection of the elite allele GmSWEETlOb may further improve the yield and seed quality of modern soybean cultivars.Shoudong Wang Shulin Liu Jie Wang Kengo Yokosho Bin Zhou Ya-Chi Yu Zhi Liu Wolf BFrommer Jian Feng Ma Li-Qing Chen Yuefeng Guan Huixia Shou Zhixi Tian 2020National Science Review2020,7,11:17

3Paleoclimate Modeling in China: A Review显示文摘This paper provides a review of paleoclimate modeling activities in China. Rather than attempt to cover all topics, we have chosen a few climatic intervals and events judged to be particularly informative to the international community. In historical climate simulations, changes in solar radiation and volcanic activity explain most parts of reconstructions over the last millennium prior to the industrial era, while atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations play the most important role in the20 th century warming over China. There is a considerable model–data mismatch in the annual and boreal winter temperature change over China during the mid-Holocene [6000 years before present(ka BP)], while coupled models with an interactive ocean generally perform better than atmospheric models. For the Last Glacial Maximum(21 ka BP), climate models successfully reproduce the surface cooling trend over China but fail to reproduce its magnitude, with a better performance for coupled models. At that time, reconstructed vegetation and western Pacific sea surface temperatures could have significantly affected the East Asian climate, and environmental conditions on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau were most likely very different to the present day. During the late Marine Isotope Stage 3(30–40 ka BP), orbital forcing and Northern Hemisphere glaciation, as well as vegetation change in China, were likely responsible for East Asian climate change. 4Photonic integrated technology for multi-wavelength laser emission显示文摘We summarized the design, fabrication challenges and important technologies for multi-wavelength laser transmitting photonic integration. Technologies discussed include multi-wavelength laser arrays, monolithic integration and modularizing coupling and packaging. Fabrication technique requirements have significantly declined with the rise of reconstruction-equivalent-chirp and second nanoimprint mask technologies. The monolithic integration problem between active and passive waveguides can be overcome with Butt-joint and InP array waveguide grating technologies. The dynamic characteristics of multi-factors will be simultaneously measured with multi-port analyzing modules. 5Phase equilibria for the pseudo-ternary system(NaCl+Na2SO4+H2O)of coal gasification wastewater at T=(268.15 to 373.15)K显示文摘The pseudo-ternary system(Na Cl + Na_2SO_4+ H_2O) of coal gasification wastewater was studied at T =(268.15 to 373.15) K. The solubility and density of the equilibrium liquid phase were determined by the isothermal solution saturation method. The equilibrium solids were also investigated by the Schreinemaker's method of wet residues and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD). According to the experimental data, the phase diagrams were determined. It was found that there was no significant solubility difference on the Na Cl-rich side between the ternary system(Na Cl + Na_2SO_4+ H_2O) in coal gasification wastewater and in pure water. However, the solubility on the Na_2SO_4-rich side of coal gasification wastewater was apparently higher than that of pure water. The increase in the solubility of Na_2SO_4 was most likely caused by the effects of other impurities apart from Na Cl and Na_2SO_4 in coal gasification wastewater. 6CFD-Based Method of Determining Form Factor k for Different Ship Types and Different Drafts显示文摘The value of form factor k at different drafts is important in predicting full-scale total resistance and speed for different types of ships. In the ITTC community, most organizations predict form factor k using a low-speed model test. However, this method is problematic for ships with bulbous bows and transom. In this article, a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)-based method is introduced to obtain k for different type of ships at different drafts, and a comparison is made between the CFD method and the model test. The results show that the CFD method produces reasonable k values. 8New Fabrication and Mechanical Properties of Styrene-Butadiene Rubber/Carbon Nanotubes Nanocomposite显示文摘A novel technology to prepare styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)/carbon nanotubes(CNTs) composites was developed by combining a spray drying method and a subsequent mechanical mixing process.The cross-linking degrees of the vulcanized composites increased gradually with the additive CNTs contents.By comparing with those of the pure SBR composites,the mechanical properties such as tensile strength,tear strength and hardness of the composites filled with CNTs at certain contents were dramatically improved almost by 600%,250% and 70%,respectively.The fabrication of the CNTs filled with SBR composites by combination of the spray drying method and subsequent mechanical mixing process was effective for enhancing the reinforcement effects of CNTs in rubbers.The novel technology can also open a new route for the modification and reinforcement on the nanocomposites with large amount of CNTs.Xiangwen Zhou Yuefeng Zhu Ji Liang Suyuan Yu 2010Journal of Materials Science & Technology2010,26,12:4
9Towards converged, collaborative and co-automatic (3C) optical networks显示文摘The interconnection of all things is developing a new diagram of future information networks.However, it is difficult to realize future applications with only one single technique. Collaboration between multiple advanced techniques is leading the way for the development of future information networks. Optical communication is an enabling technique to achieve high speed, long reach, and low latency communication,which plays an important role on the transformation of information networks. To achieve these advantages that caters to the characteristics of future information networks, collaboration of multiple advanced techniques with optical, which is called 'optical plus X', could realize the vision of 'all things connected with networks'. In this paper, we focus on the collaboration between optical networks with other techniques,mainly discuss four representative aspects, which are 'optical plus IP', 'optical plus radio', 'optical plus computing', and 'optical plus AI'. We discuss the challenges, timely works, and developing trends. 10Height stability control of a large sprayer body based on air suspension using the sliding mode approach显示文摘When a high clearance self-propelled sprayer sprays,the sprung mass varies with the amount of liquid in the tank,which causes a change in the height of the sprayer body.This change not only is harmful to the sprayer ride comfort,but also has a greater impact on the sprayer application quality.In this paper,a large-scale high clearance self-propelled sprayer with air suspension was taken as the research object.Based on vehicle dynamics and air thermodynamics theory,a mathematical model of air spring inflation/deflation was established,then a 3 degree of freedom(3-dof)vertical dynamics model of sprayer air suspension was built.On this basis,the height control strategy of the sprayer body was formulated.Due to the nonlinear characteristics of air suspension,two control algorithms,namely sliding mode control and the on-off control,were used to design the suspension height stability controller,respectively.A simulation experiment was carried out by using the sprayer spraying crops as an example.The simulation experiment results showed that sliding mode control and on-off control could track and stabilize the height of the sprayer body when it changed under no excitation and D-grade road random excitation.However,due to strong nonlinearity and hysteresis of the pneumatic system,on-off control precision was poor.With the on-off control method,further reduction of the sprung mass would change the internal parameters of the pneumatic system,cause the air spring over deflation,even worse,the over deflation phenomenon presented a serious trend and cause system instability under random road excitation.Compared with on-off control method,sliding mode control approach had good control ability and precision due to its robustness to change in model parameters.The research will provide a reference for the height stability adjustment of large high clearance self-propelled sprayers during spraying and dosing operations.Yu Chen Shuo Zhang Enrong Mao Yuefeng Du Jun Chen Shanju Yang 2020Information Processing in Agriculture2020,7,1:4
11Prospects and research issues in multi-dimensional all optical networks显示文摘Research into all optical network(AON) technology has been ongoing over the past decade, and new features are constantly being developed. The advantages of AON include large-bandwidth provisioning, lowlatency transmission and low energy consumption. The basic concept underlying AON is transmission of data signals entirely through the optical domain from source to destination nodes, with no optical-electrical-optical(O-E-O) conversion at intermediate nodes. The technologies used to implement AON have undergone a series of evolutions, which encompass time division multiplexing(TDM), frequency division multiplexing(FDM), and space division multiplexing(SDM). Multi-dimensional AON(MD-AON), which leads the trend of AON's future architecture, provides a vibrant state for emerging applications such as cloud computing and Internet of Things(Io T). In this article, we review the evolution of AON architectures based on the different all optical switching and multiplexing technologies(i.e., TDM, FDM, and SDM), which is one of the main areas of focus in this article.The other main area is detailed discussion of implementations such as data plane and control plane technologies as well as resource optimization technologies for realizing AON. 13Enhanced tribological properties of aligned graphene-epoxy composites显示文摘The random distribution of graphene in epoxy matrix hinders the further applications of grapheneepoxy composites in the field of tribology.Hence,in order to fully utilize the anisotropic properties of graphene,highly aligned graphene-epoxy composites(AGEC)with horizontally oriented structure have been fabricated via an improved vacuum filtration freeze-drying method.The frictional tests results indicated that the wear rate of AGEC slowly increased from 5.19x10^(-6)mm^(3)/(N-m)to 2.87x10^(-5)mm^(3)/(N-m)with the increasing of the normal load from 2 to 10 N,whereas the friction coefficient(COF)remained a constant of 0.109.Compared to the neat epoxy and random graphene-epoxy composites(RGEC),the COF of AGEC was reduced by 87.5%and 71.2%,and the reduction of wear rate was 86.6%and 85.4%at most,respectively.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)observations illustrated that a compact graphene self-lubricant film was formed on the worn surface of AGEC,which enables AGEC to possess excellent tribological performance.Finally,in light of the excellent tribological properties of AGEC,this study highlights a pathway to expand the tribological applications of graphene-epoxy composites.Yuefeng DU Zhenyu ZHANG Dong WANG Lezhen ZHANG Junfeng CUI Yapeng CHEN Mingliang WU Ruiyang KANG Yunxiang LU Jinhong YU Nan JIANG 2022Friction2022,10,6:2

16Circular RNA SMARCA5 suppressed non-small cell lung cancer progression by regulating miR-670-5p/RBM24 axis显示文摘Circular RNAs(circRNAs)have good stability and long half-life in blood and other body fluid,and possess regulatory effects on various biological processes as miRNA/RNA-binding protein sponges,or by competing endogenous RNA,indicating their great potential as biomarkers or targets of cancer therapy.In this study,we mainly explored the role and mechanism of circular RNA SMARCA5(circsSMARCA5)in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Quantitative RT-PCR was applied to measure the expression levels of genes,and then,the relationships among circsSMARCA5,microRNA-670-5p(miR-670-5p),and RBM24 were further analyzed.Animal and cell experiments were performed to explore the functions of circsSMARCA5 in NSCLC cells.The results showed that circsSMARCA5 was expressed at low level in NSCLC tissues and cells,while miR-670-5p had high level in NSCLC tissues.Dual luciferase reporter assay verified that miR-670-5p was the target of circsSMARCA5,and RBM24 has the binding site of miR-670-5p.Further analysis showed that circsSMARCA5 could negatively regulate miR-670-5p and had positive relationship with RBM24.Moreover,circsSMARCA5 obviously inhibited tumor growth in vivo,reduced cell proliferation and increased cell apoptosis in vitro,while miR-670-5p mimic or RBM24 knockdown could reverse these effects.Thus,circsSMARCA5 may serve as an NSCLC suppressor by regulating the miR-670-5p/RBM24 axis,and it may have the potential to be a biomarker or therapeutic target for NSCLC.Danjie Zhang Yuefeng Ma Zhenchuan Ma Shiyuan Liu Liangzhang Sun Jianzhong Li Feng Zhao Yu Li Jin Zhang Shaomin Li Jiantao Jiang 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,10:1

19Solubilization behaviors of interfacial lutetium-extractant complex in a solvent extraction system显示文摘Knowledge of the solubilization behaviors of rare-earth-extractant complex is mandatory for full comprehension of interfacial phenomenon and intermediate state of rare earth(RE) ion transport from water to oil during solvent extraction. The lutetium with 2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester(P507) extraction system was explored as a case study for the solubilization behaviors in this paper. With a quantitative analysis of a white crud obtained in the practical process, the results demonstrate that the insoluble REL_3(L = the anion of P507) complex enriches at the oil/water interface and forms the network polymers. Besides, with the increase of RE loading ratios in the oil phase, the interfacial tension increases while the free ligand in the bulk phase decreases, which results in the flocculation of REL_3 complex and the formation of polymers at the interface. Furthermore,the properties of the oil phase and the interface reveal that the free ligand can solubilize the REL_3 complex along with the transfer of water from microemulsion to aqueous phase. In addition, the change of aqueous acidity can regulate the solubilization behaviors of the interfacial complex to improve RE extraction efficiency. 20Genetic Analysis of Structural Styles in the Makran Accretionary Wedge–Insight from Physical Simulations显示文摘The Makran accretionary wedge has the smallest subduction angle among any accretionary prism in the world. The factors controlling the spacing and morphological development of its deep thrust faults, as well as the formation mechanism of shallow normal faults, remain unclear. Meanwhile, the factors affecting the continuity of plane faults must be comprehensively discussed. Clarifying the development characteristics and deformation mechanisms of the Makran accretionary wedge is crucial to effectively guide the exploration of gas hydrate deposits in the area. This study aims to interpret seismic data to identify typical structures in the Makran accretionary wedge, including deep imbricate thrust faults, shallow and small normal faults, wedge-shaped piggyback basins, mud diapirs with fuzzy and disorderly characteristics of reflection, décollements with a northward tilt of 1° – 2°, and large seamounts. Physical simulation-based experiments are performed to comprehensively analyze the results of the plane, section, and slices of the wedge. Results reveal that the distances between and shapes of thrust faults in the deep parts of the Makran accretionary wedge are controlled by the bottom décollement. The uplift of the thrust fault-related folds and the upwelling of the mud diapirs primarily contribute to the formation of small normal faults in the shallow part of the area. The mud diapirs originate from plastic material at the bottom, while those that have developed in the area near the trench are larger.
