1Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32

3Earthquake prediction from China's mobile gravity data显示文摘The relation between plate tectonics and earthquake evolution is analyzed systematically on the basis of 1998e2010 absolute and relative gravity data from the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China. Most earthquakes originated in the plate boundary or within the fault zone. Tectonic deformation was most intense and exhibited discontinuity within the tectonically active fault zone because of the differential movement; the stress accumulation produced an abrupt gravity change, which was further enhanced by the earthquake. The gravity data from China's Mainland since 2000 obviously reflected five major earthquakes(Ms > 7), all of which were better reflected than before 2000. Regional gravity anomalies and a gravity gradient change were observed in the area around the epicenter about 2 or 3 years before the earthquake occurred, suggesting that gravity change may be a seismic precursor. 4Gravity changes before and after the 2010 Ms7.1 Yushu earthquake显示文摘Absolute and relative gravity observations from 1998-2010 from the China Crustal Movement Observation Network, a major national scientific project, have been used to model the gravity field and its variations associated with the April 14, 2010 Ms7.1 Yushu earthquake. The evolution of the regional gravity field and its relationship with seismicity before and after the Yushu earthquake are studied. The observed gravity changes are closely related to the active Ganzi-Yushu Fault, and gravity measurements can be used to observe the migration of material accompanying active faults and crustal tectonics. The dynamic variation of the gravity field reflects its evolution prior to and during the Yushu earthquake. 7Gravity variations before the Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake显示文摘In order to study the relationship between gravity variation and Menyuan Ms6.4 earthquake, gravity variation characteristics in mid-eastern of Qilian Mountain were analyzed based on the 2012-2015 relative gravity datasets. The results indicated that the gravity changes in mid-eastern of Qilian Mountain increased gradually, while gravity changes around Menyuan remarkably. 8Study on Lightning Protection Design of DCS in a Nuclear Power Plant显示文摘DCS (distributed control system) plays a decisive role in the overall operation of a nuclear power plant. If DCS fails,it will seriously affect the normal production of nuclear power plant,causing great losses. So it is very important to take perfect lightning protection measures on DCS of the nuclear power plant. In this paper,according to the actual situation of DCS in a nuclear power plant,by controlling lightning point,securely booting lightning into the ground network,improving low-resistance ground network,eliminating ground loops,determining the safety space,surge protection of power and signal,a set of complete lightning protection design scheme was systematically put forward. Some specific lightning protection measures were highlighted,such as the DCS grounding,equipotential bonds and shields,and some specific considerations were put forward. 10Motion Stability Analysis of Non-sinusoidal Oscillation of Mold Driven by Servomotor显示文摘The investments of the electro-hydraulic servo system of the mold non-sinusoidal oscillator are great, the modification ratio of the mechanical type is unable to be adjusted online, and some continuous casters suffer from server resonance during the casting. A mold non-sinusoidal oscillation mechanism driven by servomotor is proposed and the prototype is produced in the lab, the investment is low and the modification ratio is can be adjusted online, and the stability problem is studied. At first the dynamics model of the servomotor non-sinusoidal oscillation is established, and the kinematics differential function is deduced. Furthermore, based on the harmonic balance method, the eigenvalues of the system are solved; the criterion of the stability of the system is put forward. In addition, the eigenvalues and harmonic with different oscillating parameters are analyzed. Analytical results show that the real parts of the eigenvalues are positive, the system will be unstable, and the resonance will occur when the positive real parts of the eigenvalues are extremum. 12A new sequential data assimilation method显示文摘A new sequential data assimilation method named 'Monte Carlo H ∞ filter' is introduced based on H ∞ filter technique and Monte Carlo method in this paper. This method applies to nonlinear systems in condition of lacking the statistical properties of observational errors. In order to compare the as- similation capability of Monte Carlo H ∞ filter with that of the ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) in solving practical problems caused by temporal correlation or spatial correlation of observational errors, two numerical experiments are performed by using Lorenz (1963) system and shallow-water equations re- spectively. The result is that the assimilation capability of the new method is better than that of EnKF method. It is also shown that Monte Carlo H ∞ filter assimilation method is effective and suitable to nonlinear systems in that it does not depend on the statistical properties of observational errors and has better robustness than EnKF method when the statistical properties of observational errors are varying. 15Reaction mechanism and chemoselectivity of gold(Ⅰ)-catalyzed cycloaddition of 1-(1-alkynyl) cyclopropyl ketones with nucleophiles to yield substituted furans显示文摘The mechanisms of gold(Ⅰ)-catalyzed cycloaddition of 1-(1-alkynyl) cyclopropyl ketones with nucleophiles have been investigated using density functional theory calculations at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level of theory.A polarizable continuum model(PCM) has been established in order to evaluate the effects of solvents on the reactions.The results of the calculations indicate that the first step of the catalytic cycle is the cyclization of the carbonyl oxygen onto the triple bond which forms a new and stable resonance structure of an oxonium ion and a carbocation intermediate.The subsequent ring expansion step results in the formation of the final product and regeneration of the catalyst.Furthermore,the regioselectivity and effect of substituents has been discussed,including an analysis of energy,bond length,and natural bond orbital(NBO) charge distributions in the rate-determining step.Our computational results are consistent with earlier experimental observations.YAN YunFeng FANG Ran GENG ZhiYuan WANG YongCheng LIU ShaoLi 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,7:1
16Measurement of GaAs start duration in different solution concentration using infrared images显示文摘This paper proposes a new infrared method to measure the start duration of GaAs substrate in chemi- cal etching. When etching starts, the temperature of liquid-film will change because of heat release in the chemical reaction. As a result, the start duration of GaAs can be tested by collecting real-time in- frared thermal images in the course of temperature variation. Both theoretical analysis and experi- mental results show that the line shape liquid film of a 2-mm width is a good monitoring subject. By making use of the grey distribution change of a certain cross section of the line shape liquid film, the start duration of reaction between GaAs and H2SO4-H2O2-H2O is obtained. The start durations of reac- tion between GaAs substrate and H2SO4:H2O2:H2O (=5:1:50 and 15:3:50) solution are about 0.2 s and 0.3―0.4 s, respectively. 17Human exposure to a mixture of endocrine disruptors and serum levels of thyroid hormones:A cross-sectional study显示文摘Exposure to endocrine disruptors(EDCs) could disrupt thyroid hormone homeostasis. However, human epidemiological studies reported inconsistent observations, and scarce information on the effect of a mixture of chemicals. The aim of the present study was to examine the associations of multiple chemicals with thyroid hormones among adults from China. We measured serum levels of thyroid hormones and urinary levels of 11 EDCs, including six phthalate metabolites, bisphenol A(BPA), bisphenol F(BPF), bisphenol S(BPS), perchlorate, and thiocyanate among 177 healthy adults without occupational exposure. Associations of multiple urinary analytes with serum thyroid hormones were examined by performing general linear regression analysis and bayesian kernal machine regression analysis. These EDCs were detected in almost all samples. After adjusting for various covariates, we observed only BPF significantly associated with total thyroxin(TT4)(β=-0.27, 95% confidence interval(CI) [-0.41,-0.14]), total triiodothyronine(TT3)(β=-0.02 95% CI [-0.03,-0.01]), free T4(fT4)(β=-0.02, 95% CI [-0.03,-0.01]), and free T3(fT3)(β=-0.04, 95% CI [-0.07,-0.01]), and mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) phthalate(MEOHP) and monoethyl phthalate(MEP) positively associated with TT4(β=0.24, 95% CI [0.01, 0.48]) and fT4(β=0.02, 95% CI [0.01, 0.04]), respectively. Moreover, we observed significant dose-response relationships between TT4 and the mixture of11 EDCs, and BPF was the main contributor to the mixture effect, suggesting the priority of potential effect of BPF on disrupting thyroid function under a real scenario of human exposure to multiple EDCs. 18Abiotic stress treatment reveals expansin like A gene OfEXLA1 improving salt and drought tolerance of Osmanthus fragrans by responding to abscisic acid显示文摘Sweet osmanthus(Osmanthus fragrans) is a having general approval aromatic tree in China that is widely applied to landscaping and gardening. However, the evergreen tree adaptability is limited by many environmental stresses. Currently, limited information is available regarding the genetic analysis and functional identification of expansin genes in response to abiotic stress in sweet osmanthus. In this study, a total of 29 expansin genes were identified and divided into four groups by genome-wide analysis from the sweet osmanthus genome. Transcriptome and quantitative Real-time PCR analysis showed that the cell wall-localized protein expansin-like A(OfEXLA1) gene was significantly induced by salt and drought treatment. Histochemical GUS staining of transgenic Arabidopsis lines in which GUS activity was driven with the OfEXLA1 promoter, GUS activity was significantly induced by salt, drought, and exogenous abscisic acid(ABA). In yeast, we found OfEXLA1overexpression significantly improved the population of cells compared with wild-type strains after NaCl and polyethylene glycol(PEG)treatment. Additionally, OfEXLA1 overexpression not only promoted plant growth, but also improved the salt and drought tolerance in Arabidopsis. To gain insight into the role of ABA signaling in the regulation of OfEXLA1 improving abiotic tolerance in sweet osmanthus, four differentially expressed ABA Insensitive 5(ABI5)-like genes(OfABL4, OfABL5, OfABL7, and OfABL8) were identified from transcriptome, and dualluciferase(dual-LUC) and yeast one hybrid(Y1H) assay showed that OfABL4 and OfABL5 might bind to OfEXLA1 promoter to accumulate the OfEXLA1 expression by responding to ABA signaling to improve abiotic tolerance in sweet osmanthus. 19Differentiation of Algal Blooms and Aquatic Vegetation in Chinese Lakes Using Modified Vegetation Presence Frequency Index Method显示文摘Algal blooms in lakes have become a common global environmental problem. Nowadays, remote sensing is widely used to monitor algal blooms in lakes due to the macroscopic, fast, real-time characteristics. However, it is often difficult to distinguish between algal blooms and aquatic vegetation due to their similar spectral characteristics. In this paper, we used modified vegetation presence frequency index(VPF) based on Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) imagery to distinguish algal blooms from aquatic vegetation, and analyzed the spatial and temporal variations of algal blooms and aquatic vegetation from a phenological perspective for five large natural lakes with frequent algal bloom outbreaks in China from 2019 to 2020. We simplified the VPF method to make it with a higher spatial transferability so that it could be applied to other lakes in different climatic zones. Through accuracy validation, we found that the modified VPF method can effectively distinguish between algal blooms and aquatic vegetation, and the results vary from lake to lake. The highest accuracy of 97% was achieved in Hulun Lake, where the frequency of algal outbreaks is low and the extent of aquatic vegetation is stable, while the lowest accuracy of 76% was achieved in Dianchi Lake, which is rainy in summer and the lake is small. Analyses suggests that the time period when algal blooms occur most frequently might not coincide with that when they have the largest area. However, in most cases these two are close in terms of time period. The modified VPF method has a broad scope of application, is easy to implement, and has a high practical value. 20Review on application of phase change materials in asphalt pavement显示文摘Phase change materials(PCMs)can regulate the temperature in asphalt pavement and minimize temperature-related problems,such as rutting and thermal cracking,because of their ability to store and release latent heat.Suitable PCMs can also enable additional road surface functions,such as snow melting ability,freeze-thaw cycle resistance,and heat island reduction.These functions are helpful in achieving intelligent,green,and sustainable transportation systems.Although the research on PCMs for asphalt pavement has been carried out for more than 10 years,a systematic material system and mature application technology have not yet been formed.The main reasons for restricting the development of this technology include the lack of suitability between the PCMs and asphalt pavement,the quantitative characterization of phase change temperature regulation property,and the evaluation of the effect of phase change energy storage on improving pavement performance.Although the published review has made a comprehensive summary of the existing research,it has yet to identify the key restricting the development of this technology and carry out a review and discussion based on it.To grasp the development status of the application of PCMs in asphalt pavement,sort out the development needs and break through the technical barriers,this study systematically summarizes the preparation and performance of PCMs for asphalt pavement,compares the performance and evaluation methods of asphalt mixtures with different PCMs,and summarizes the numerical simulation methods of phase change asphalt mixtures.Finally,this study presents potential approaches to address critical technical issues and discusses possible future research.Xiaoqing Wang Biao Ma Siqi Li Wei Si Kun Wei Hongfei Zhang Xueyan Zhou Yunfeng Fang Xingxiang Kang Wenshuo Shi 2023Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2023,10,2:0
