1Geometry and tectonic deformation of the seismogenic structure for the 8 August 2017 M_S 7.0 Jiuzhaigou earthquake sequence,northern Sichuan, China显示文摘To reveal the geometry of the seismogenic structure of the Aug. 8, 2017 M_S 7.0 Jiuzhaigou earthquake in northern Sichuan,data from the regional seismic network from the time of the main event to Oct. 31, 2017 were used to relocate the earthquake sequence by the tomoDD program, and the focal mechanism solutions and centroid depths of the M_L ≥ 3.5 events in the sequence were determined using the CAP waveform inversion method. Further, the segmental tectonic deformation characteristics of the seismogenic faults were analyzed preliminarily by using strain rosettes and areal strains(As). The results indicate:(1) The relocated M_S 7.0 Jiuzhaigou earthquake sequence displays a narrow ~ 38 km long NNW-SSE-trending zone between the NW-striking Tazang Fault and the nearly NSstriking Minjiang Fault, two branches of the East Kunlun Fault Zone. The spatial distribution of the sequence is narrow and deep for the southern segment, and relatively wide and shallow for the northern segment. The initial rupture depth of the mainshock is 12.5 km, the dominant depth range of the aftershock sequence is between 0 and 10 km with an average depth of 6.7 km. The mainshock epicenter is located in the middle of the aftershock region, showing a bilateral rupture behavior. The centroid depths of 32 M_L ≥ 3.5 events range from 3 to 12 km with a mean of about 7.3 km, consistent with the predominant focal depth of the whole sequence.(2) The geometric structure of the seismogenic fault on the southern section of the aftershock area(south of the mainshock) is relatively simple, with overall strike of ~150° and dip angle ~75°, but the dip angle and dip-orientation exhibit some variation along the segment. The seismogenic structure on the northern segment is more complicated; several faults, including the Minjiang Fault, may be responsible for the aftershock activities. The overall strike of this section is ~159° and dip angle is ~59°, illustrating a certain clockwise rotation and a smaller dip angle than the southern segment. The differences between the two segments demonstrate variation of the geometric structure along the seismogenic faults.(3) The focal mechanism solutions of 32 M_L ≥ 3.5 events in the earthquake sequence have obvious segmental characteristics. Strike-slip earthquakes are dominant on the southern segment, while 50% of events on the northern segment are thrusting and oblique thrusting earthquakes, revealing significant differences in the kinematic features of the seismogenic faults between the two segments.(4) The strain rosettes for the mainshock and the entire sequence of 31 M_L ≥ 3.5 aftershocks correspond to strike-slip type with NWW-SEE compressional white lobes and NNE-SSW extensional black lobes of nearly similar size. The strain rosette and As value of the entire sequence of 22 M_L ≥ 3.5 events on the southern segment are the same as those of the M_S 7.0 mainshock,indicating that the tectonic deformation here is strike-slip. However, the strain rosette of the entire sequence of 10 M_L ≥ 3.5 events on the northern segment show prominent white compressional lobes and small black extensional lobes, and the related As value is up to 0.52,indicating that the tectonic deformation of this segment is oblique thrusting with a certain strike-slip component. 2Three dimensional velocity structure and accurate earthquake location in Changning–Gongxian area of southeast Sichuan显示文摘In order to understand the crustal structure and tectonic background of the Changning–Gongxiang area, southeastern Sichuan Province, where a series of moderate-to-strong earthquakes occurred in recent years, we utilized the seismic phase data both from a local dense array and from the regional seismic networks;we used the tomoDD program to invert for the high-resolution three-dimensional velocity structure within the depth range of 0–10 km and for accurate hypocentral locations in this area. We analyzed the seismogenic structures for the events of Xingwen M5.7 in 2018 and Gongxian M5.3 and Changning M6.0 in 2019. The results show that:(1) widespread lateral inhomogeneity exists in the velocity structure of the study area, and the location of the velocity anomaly is largely consistent with known structures. In the range of distinguishable depth, the inhomogeneity decreases with increasing depth, and the velocity structure anomalies in some areas are continuous in depth;(2) earthquakes occurred in clusters, showing the characteristics of zonal folding trends in the NW-SE and NE-SW directions;the focal depth in the area is generally shallow in both the sedimentary cap and the crystalline basement. The seismogenic structures of small earthquake clusters are different in size and occurrence in different sections, and the clusters occurred mostly in regions with high P-or S-wave velocities;(3) synthesis of a variety of data suggests that the seismogenic structures of the Xingwen M5.7 and Changning M6.0 earthquakes are associated with slip faults that trend NW-SE in, respectively, the south wing and the axis of the Changning–Shuanghe anticline, while that of the Gongxian M5.3 earthquake is associated with thrust faults that trend N-S in the Jianwu syncline region. 3Indirectly extruded biodegradable Zn-0.05wt%Mg alloy with improved strength and ductility: In vitro and in vivo studies显示文摘As compared to permanent orthopedic implants for load-bearing applications, biodegradable orthopedic implants have the advantage of no need for removing after healing, but they suffer from the 'trilemma' problem of compromising among sufficiently high mechanical properties, good biocompatibility and proper degradation rate conforming to the growth rate of new bones. In the present work, in vitro and in vivo studies of a Zn-0.05 wt%Mg alloy(namely, Zn-0.05 Mg alloy) were conducted with pure Zn as a control. The Zn-0.05 Mg alloy is composed of a small amount of Mg_2 Zn11 phase embedded in the refined Zn matrix with an average grain size of ~20 μm. The addition of 0.05 wt% Mg into Zn significantly increases the ultimate tensile strength up to 225 MPa and the elongation to fracture to 26%, but has little influence on the in vitro degradation rate. Both Zn and Zn-0.05 Mg alloy exhibit homogeneous in vitro degradation with a rate of about 0.15 mm/year. Based on the cytotoxicity evaluation, Zn and Zn-0.05 Mg alloy do not induce toxicity to L-929 cells, indicating that they have little toxicity to the general functions of the animal. An in vivo biocompatibility study of Zn and Zn-0.05 Mg alloy samples by placing them in a rabbit model for 4.12 and 24 weeks, respectively did not show any inflammatory cells, and demonstrated that new bone tissue formed at the bone/implant interface, suggesting that Zn and Zn-0.05 Mg alloy promote the formation of new bone tissue. The in vivo degradation of Zn and Zn-0.05 Mg alloy does not bring harm to the important organs and their cell structures. More interestingly, Zn and Zn-0.05 Mg alloy exhibit strong antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. 5Carbon-Isotope Excursions Recorded in the Cambrian System,South China:Implications for Mass Extinctions and Sea-Level Fluctuations显示文摘Cambrian carbonates with abundant fossils of agnostoid trilobites deposited on the southern slope(Jiangnan slope belt) of the Yangtze Platform and in the Jiangnan deepwater basin are well exposed in the Wangcun Section of western Hunan, South China, and in the Duibian A Section of western Zhejiang, southeastern China, respectively. To better understand the response of carbon-isotope excursions to depositional environment changes, mass extinctions and eustatic events, we collected 530 carbonate samples in fresh roadcut exposures of the two measured sections for analysis of carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions. Data of δ13 C from the Wangcun Section, western Hunan, South China, demonstrate that the Cambrian carbon-isotope profile includes three remarkable positive excursions CPEwc-1, 2, 3 in the Upper Series 2, in the Lower and in the Middle Furongian Series. Three distinctive negative excursions CNEwc-1, 2, 3 were separately tested in the Lower Terreneuvian Series, Lower Series 3 and in the Upper Furongian Series. Similarly, in the corresponding horizons in the Duibian A Section, Zhejiang Province, southeastern China, three positive excursions CPEdb-1, 2, 3 and three negative excursions CNEdb-1, 2, 3 also have been discovered. 6Construction of van der Waals substrates for largely mismatched heteroepitaxy systems using first principles显示文摘The high density of defects induced by large strains in largely mismatched heteroepitaxy systems, such as AlN and GaN, because of the large lattice and thermal mismatch between substrates and epilayers is the bottleneck problem. Graphene-assisted van der Waals(vdW) heteroepitaxy offers a new opportunity to resolve this problem. However, it suffers from the difficulty of nucleation. Here we theoretically assess the effects of five 2D materials for vdW heteroepitaxy of AlN and GaN, including graphene, hBN, MoS2, gC3N, and gC3N4, and provide physical insights using first-principle calculations. MoS2 and gC3N exhibit significant potential to overcome the shortcomings of graphene owing to their appropriate binding strengths and Al(or Ga)diffusion barriers. Moreover, the interface behavior between the epilayers and the substrates are carefully analyzed. 8Degradation of ofloxacin using peroxymonosulfate activated by nitrogen-rich graphitized carbon microspheres:Structure and performance controllable study显示文摘Nitrogen-rich graphitized carbon microspheres(NGCs)with hierarchically porous were constructed by self-assembly.Under different heat treatment conditions,the structure,morphology and properties of NGCs were studied by using multiple characterization techniques.The results showed that the chemical microenvironments(e.g.surface chemistry,degree of graphitization and defective,etc.)and microstructures properties(e.g.morphology,specific surface area,particle size,etc.)could be delicately controlled via thermal carbonization processes.The degradation of ofloxacin(OFLX)by NGCs activated peroxymonosulfate(PMS)was studied systematically.It was found that the synergistic coupling effect between optimum N or O bonding species configuration ratio(graphitic N and C=O)and special microstructure was the main reason for the enhanced catalytic activity of NGC-800(calcination temperature at 800°C).Electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)experiments and radical quenching experiments indicated that the hydroxyl(·OH),sulfate(SO4^·-)and singlet oxygen(^1O_(2))were contributors in the NGC-800/PMS systems.Further investigation of the durability of chemical structures and surface active sites revealed that undergo N bonding species configuration reconstruction and cannibalistic oxidation during PMS activation reaction.The used NGC-800 physicochemical properties could be recovered by heat treatment to achieve the ideal catalytic performance.The findings proposed a valuable insight for catalytic performance and controllable design of construction.Changsheng Feng Chen Chen Yu Zhu Qi Cao Chao Chen Caiyun Jiang Yuping Wang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,1:2
9Carboniferous integrative stratigraphy and timescale of China显示文摘The Carboniferous period lasted about 60 Myr, from ~358.9 Ma to ~298.9 Ma. According to the International Commission on Stratigraphy, the Carboniferous System is subdivided into two subsystems, i.e., Mississippian and Pennsylvanian, including 6 series and 7 stages. The Global Stratotype Sections and Points(GSSPs) of three stages have been ratified, the Tournaisian, Visean, and Bashkirian stages. The GSSPs of the remaining four stages(i.e., the Serpukhovian, Moscovian,Kasimovian, and Gzhelian) have not been ratified so far. This paper outlines Carboniferous stratigraphic subdivision and correlation on the basis of detailed biostratigraphy mainly from South China, and summarizes the Carboniferous chronostratigraphic framework of China. High-resolution biostratigraphic study reveals 37 conodont zones, 24 foraminiferal(including fusulinid) zones, 13 ammonoid zones, 10 brachiopod zones, and 10 rugose coral zones in the Carboniferous of China. The biostratigraphic framework based on these biozones warrants the precise correlation of regional stratigraphy of China(including2 subsystems, 4 series, and 8 stages) to that of the other regions globally. Meanwhile, the Carboniferous chemo-, sequence-,cyclo-, and event-stratigraphy of China have been intensively studied and can also be correlated worldwide. 14Abnormal miR-214/A20 expression might play a role in T cell activation in patients with aplastic anemia显示文摘Aberrant T cell activation is a major cause of aplastic anemia(AA)pathogenesis.Recent studies have shown that miRNAs regulate T cell activation and are involved in AA.A previous study found that miR-214 was significantly up-regulated upon T cell activation in a CD28-dependent fashion by targeting PTEN.However,the expression characteristics of miR-214 and its target genes in AA have not been defined.In this study,target genes for miR-214 were predicted and confirmed by bioinformatics and luciferase reporter assays.The expression levels of miR-214 and target genes were detected in 36 healthy individuals and 35 patients with AA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells by real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction.Bioinformatics and luciferase reporter assays identified that miR-214 could bind to the A2030 untranslated regions.Significantly increased miR-214 and the decreased A20 expression level were detected in the AA patients compared with the healthy group.In addition,significantly increased miR-214 was found in non-severe aplastic anemia compared with severe aplastic anemia patients.These results suggested that the A20 gene was a potential target of miR-214,and elevated miR-214 might medicate T cell activation at least in part by regulating A20 expression in AA.We firstly confirmed that miR-214 regulated A20 expression,and aberrant miR-214/A20 expression might contribute to immunopathology in AA.The miR-214 expression might be used as a potential biomarker that assisted in diagnosing AA severity.Zhi Yu Cunte Chen Yankai Xiao Xiaohui Chen Lixing Guo Guangxiao Tan Guixuan Huang Weifeng Luo Ming Zhou Yumiao Li Chen Lin Qi Shen Yuping Zhang Bo Li 2020Blood Science2020,2,3:1
15Constructing a lithiophilic polyaniline coating via in situ polymerization for dendrite-free lithium metal anode显示文摘Metallic lithium is regarded as one of the most promising electrode materials to break through the energy density bottleneck of current commercial lithium-ion batteries.However,the practical implementation of lithium metal anode is limited by the unstable electrode interface significantly,which directly induces a low Coulombic efficiency,short cycling lifespan,and dendritic lithium growth behavior.In this study,via in situ electropolymerization,lithiophilic and conformal polyaniline layer is developed to improve the initial lithium nucleation and plating process,reducing the interface charge transfer resistance and promoting uniform lithium plating/stripping behavior.Meanwhile,the polyaniline layer exhibits good adhesion to the substrate.As a result,the Li/Cu half cell delivers a high Coulombic efficiency of 99.1%for 400 cycles at 1.0 mA·cm^(−2)with polyaniline layer.In addition,long-term stable cycling at a current density of 1.0 mA·cm^(−2)for 1300 h has been achieved for lithium metal anode.This strategy provides a new perspective for the practical lithium metal batteries.Xiaosong Xiong Qiao Qiao Qi Zhou Xinbing Cheng Lili Liu Lijun Fu Yuhui Chen Bin Wang Xiongwei Wu Yuping Wu 2023Nano Research2023,16,6:0

18The heterochronic gene Oryza sativa LIKE HETEROCHROMATIN PROTEIN 1 modulates miR156b/c/i/e levels显示文摘The juvenile-to-adult transition in plants involves changes in vegetative growth and plant architecture;the timing of this transition has important implications for agriculture.The microRNA miR156 regulates this transition and shoot maturation in plants.In Arabidopsis thaliana,deposition of histone H3 trimethylation on lysine 27(H3K27me3,a repressive mark)at the MIR156A/C loci is regulated by Polycomb Repressive Complex 1(PRC1)or PRC2,depending on the developmental stage.The levels of miR156 progressively decline during shoot maturation.The amount of H3K27me3 at MIR156A/C loci affects miR156 levels;however,whether this epigenetic regulation is conserved remains unclear.Here,we found that in rice(Oryza sativa),the putative PRC1 subunit LIKE HETEROCHROMATIN PROTEIN 1(OsLHP1),with the miR156–SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)module,affects developmental phase transitions.Loss of OsLHP1 function results in ectopic expression of MIR156B/C/I/E,phenocopy of miR156 overexpression,and reduced H3k27me3 levels at MIR156B/C/I/E.This indicates that OsLHP1 has functionally diverged from Arabidopsis LHP1.Genetic and transcriptome analyses of wild-type,miR156b/c-overexpression,and Oslhp1-2 mutant plants suggest that OsLHP1 acts upstream of miR156 and SPL during the juvenile-to-adult transition.Therefore,modifying the OsLHP1–miR156–SPL pathway may enable alteration of the vegetative period and plant architecture.Yongtao Cui Jingfei Cheng Shuang Ruan Peipei Qi Wei Liu Hongwu Bian Luhuan Ye Yuping Zhang Jiang Hu Guojun Dong Longbiao Guo Yijing Zhang Qian Qian d Xingming Hu 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,12:0
19Effects of flue gas desulfurization gypsum and clover planting on qualities of soil and winter jujube in coastal saline-alkali orchard of north China显示文摘Flue gas desulfurization gypsum and clover planting alleviated the soil salinization stress.Soil pH and total phosphorus affected the bacterial communi-ties.Total phosphorus affected the fungal communities.Flue gas desulfurization gypsum and clover planting improved jujube quality.The coastal area of Shandong Province,characterized by coastal saline tidal soil,is one of the main production areas of winter jujube in China.However,the low soil fertility and poor soil structure in jujube orchard restricted the development of the jujube industry.The objectives of this study were to 1)evaluate the effect of application of flue gas desulfurization(FGD)gypsum and clover planting on soil quality improvement and soil microbial community structure of jujube orchard;2)investigate the effects of two measures on the nutrition and quality of winter jujube.The results showed that FGD gypsum reduced the soil total salt content by 65.6%,and clover planting increased the soil organic matter content by 30.7%,which effectively alleviated the soil salinization stress and improved the soil structure.Soil pH and total phosphorus(TP)were the main determinants influencing bacterial community composition,and TP was the dominant factor of the fungal community composition in the saline-alkali soils.Meanwhile,FGD gypsum addition and clover planting significantly increased the sugar degree and Vc content of winter jujube,thus improved jujube quality,and further contributed to the ecological sustainable development of winter jujube industry.Qi Shao Xuejing Xia Guihua Li Hui Li Jitong Lin Yanhong Lou Quangang Yang Hui Wang Zhongchen Yang Hong Pan Yuping Zhuge 2024Soil Ecology Letters2024,6,1:0
