3Identification and characterization of Argonaute gene family and meiosis-enriched Argonaute during sporogenesis in maize显示文摘Argonaute(AGO) proteins play a key role in regulation of gene expression through small RNA‐directed RNA cleavage and translational repression, and are essential for multiple developmental processes. In the present study, 17 AGO genes of maize(Zea mays L., ZmAGOs) were identified using a Hidden Markov Model and validated by rapid amplification of cDNA ends assay. Subsequently, quantitative PCR revealed that expressions of these genes were higher in reproductive than in vegetative tissues. AGOs presented five temporal and spatial expression patterns, which were likely modulated by DNA methylation, 50‐untranslated exons and microRNA‐mediated feedback loops. Intriguingly, ZmAGO18 b was highly expressed in tassels during meiosis. Furthermore, in situ hybridization and immunofluorescence showed that ZmAResearchGO18b was enriched in the tapetum and germ cells in meiotic anthers. 4Serum Gamma-glutamyl Transferase Levels Predict Functional Outcomes after Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage显示文摘Objective We aim to explore the potential association between serum gamma-glutamyl transferase levels and functional outcome after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage in a Chinese population. Methods A total of 386 aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients were included in the study from September 2007 to February 2015. Baseline serum gamma-glutamyl transferase levels and 6-month follow-up functional outcomes were determined. A poor outcome was defined as a modified ranking scale score of ≥ 3. The multivariable logistic model was used to analyze the relationship between serum gamma-glutamyl transferase and clinical outcomes after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Results The adjusted poor outcome rates of patients with gamma-glutamyl transferase levels of < 30 U/L, 30-50 U/L and ≥ 50 U/L were 16.7%, 19.6%, and 34.4%, respectively(P < 0.01). The age-sex and multivariable adjusted odds ratios(95% confidence intervals) of poor prognosis comparing the top group(≥ 50 U/L) with the lowest group(< 30 U/L) were 5.76(2.74-12.13), 6.64(2.05-21.52), and 6.36(1.92-21.02). A significant linear trend existed between gamma-glutamyl transferase level and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage prognosis. This association was also observed among nondrinkers. Conclusion Patients with higher gamma-glutamyl transferase levels were more likely to have a poor prognosis. 5High powerλ~8.5μm quantum cascade laser grown by MOCVD operating continuous-wave up to 408 K显示文摘Robust quantum cascade laser(QCL)enduring high temperature continuous-wave(CW)operation is of critical importance for some applications.We report on the realization of lattice-matched InGaAs/InAlAs/InP QCL materials grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD).High interface quality structures designed for light emission at 8.5μm are achieved by optimizing and precise controlling of growth conditions.A CW output power of 1.04 W at 288 K was obtained from a 4 mm-long and 10μm-wide coated laser.Corresponding maximum wall-plug efficiency and threshold current density were 7.1%and 1.18 kA/cm2,respectively.The device can operate in CW mode up to 408 K with an output power of 160 mW.Teng Fei Shenqiang Zhai Jinchuan Zhang Ning Zhuo Junqi Liu Lijun Wang Shuman Liu Zhiwei Jia Kun Li Yongqiang Sun Kai Guo Fengqi Liu Zhanguo Wang 2021Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,11:3
6Study on Colorimetric Method and Content Determination of Total Phenol in Homemade Plum Wine显示文摘[Objectives] To study on colorimetric method and content determination of total phenol in homemade plum wine. [Methods]The optimal determination condition of total polyphenols content in plum wine( commercially available and homemade) by Folin-Ciocalteu method was inspected,and commercially available and homemade plum wine was evaluated by the method. [Results]The optimal determination conditions of total polyphenols content: sample dose of 1. 0 m L,Folin-Ciocalteu reagent of 1 m L,4% Na_2CO_3 solution of 4. 0 m L,reaction temperature of 50 ℃,reaction time of 1. 5 h,and determination wavelength of 756 nm. Absorbance showed good linear relationship with total polyphenols content within the range of 17. 73-59. 12 μg/m L( y = 14. 878 x + 0. 0739,R^2= 0. 9998). Recovery rate of adding standard sample was between 98. 8% and 103. 5%,and relative standard deviation was 2. 0%( n = 5). 7Sex Determination Mechanisms in Fish显示文摘In fish,sex determination(SD) system shows high variation. The SD mechanisms include environmental and genetic regulation. The research on SD system and related genes in intensively studied fish species was reviewed. Although some genes have been described as sex-related,only DMRT1bY can be considered as a master sex determination gene and none of them has been utilized in aquaculture. The variation of fish SD system,the importance of sex-related genes in evolution research and the relations between environmental factors and sex-related genes were also discussed. The fish sex determination mechanism remains largely unknown. 8qRgls1.06, a major QTL conferring resistance to gray leaf spot disease in maize显示文摘Gray leaf spot(GLS)caused by Cercospora zeae-maydis and C.zeina is an extremely devastating leaf disease that limits maize production annually.The use of GLS-resistant maize hybrids is the most cost-effective approach for reducing losses.Resistance to GLS is quantitatively inherited in maize(Zea mays L.)and further sources of resistance remain to be analyzed.Here,we detected qRgls1.06,a major quantitative trait locus for GLS resistance in bin 1.06 that explained approximately 55%of the phenotype variance.Fine mapping over 2 consecutive years localized qRgls1.06 to a 2.38-Mb region.Homozygous qRgls1.06^(WGR/WGR) plants in DZ01 background displayed higher GLS resistance and 100-grain weight than DZ01 plants.The GLS responses of several susceptible elite inbred lines were improved by the introduction of qRgls1.06 by marker-assisted backcrossing.Our findings extend the understanding of the genetic basis of resistance to GLS and provide a set of resistant germplasm for genetic improvement of resistance to GLS in maize.Hao Sun Lihong Zhai Feng Teng Zhihong Li Zuxin Zhang 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,2:2

10Tracking footprint of hydrogeology research in China via scientific projects funded by the NSFC(1997–2013)显示文摘In order to track the footprint of the hydrogeology research in China during the past years,all the projects with the code of D0213(hydrogeology,geothermic geosciences included) funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC) from 1997 to 2013 were searched and analysed. The statistics results showed that,a total of 88 institutes were ever funded with a total of 462 projects with the gross amount of 214 million yuan,and Beijing and Wuhan were the two most important centres for the hydrogeology research. In detail,A few 211 Project & 985 Project universities were the main forces,followed by Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Apart from the several traditional geological universities/colleges(China University of Geosciences(Wuhan),China University of Geosciences(Beijing),Nanjing University,Jilin University,and Chang’an University) with outstanding performances,a few new forces from 211 Project & 985 Project universities also made good achievements with Beijing Normal University and Peking University standing out. 12Mid-temperature thermoelectric performance of zone-melted Sb_(2)(Te,Se)_(3) alloys near phase transition boundary显示文摘(Bi,Sb)_(2)(Te,Se)_(3) alloys are widely used commercial thermoelectric(TE)materials for solid-state refrigeration around room temperature.The composition-induced structural phase transition could be realized by varying the compositions in these alloys,which may largely alter the electronic structure and phonon dispersion.Among them,the Se-alloyed Sb_(2)Te_(3) accompanied with structural transition is seldom reported.Herein,the interrelations of Se-alloying induced changes in structural phase transition,band structure and TE properties of p-type zone-melted Sb_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x)(x=1.5-2.4)alloys near phase transition boundary are systematically investigated.The results demonstrate that Sb_(2)Te_(3-x)Se_(x) shows a structural transition from a rhombohedral phase to mixed structure at x=2.0.The carrier concentration and bandgap at room temperature of Sb_(2)Te_(3)-xSex(x=1.5-2.4)constantly decrease with increasing Se contents x.The zT peak of the Sb_(2)TeSe_(2) matrix is improved and shifted to higher temperature by optimizing carrier concentration via Ag doping.A maximum zT of~0.4 is obtained at 680 K in Sb_(1.97)Ag_(0.03)TeSe_(2) alloy,about 100% enhancement compared with the undoped sample.Beibei Li Renshuang Zhai Teng Fang Kaiyang Xia Yongjun Wu Tiejun Zhu 2019Journal of Materiomics2019,5,4:1

15Strain-sensitive ferromagnetic two-dimensional Cr_(2)Te_(3)显示文摘Searching for room temperature magnetic two-dimensional(2D)materials is a charming goal,but the number of satisfied materials is tiny.Strain can introduce considerable deformation into the lattice structure of 2D materials,and thus significantly modulate their intrinsic properties.In this work,we demonstrated a remarkable strain-modulated magnetic properties in the chemical vapor deposited Cr_(2)Te_(3) nanoflakes grown on mica substrate.We found the Curie temperature of Cr_(2)Te_(3) nanoflakes can be positively and negatively modulated under tensile and compressive strain respectively,with a maximum varied value of -40 and-90 K,dependent on the thickness of samples.Besides,the coercive field of Cr_(2)Te_(3) nanoflakes also showed a significant decrease under the applied strain,suggesting the decrease of exchange interaction or the change of the magnetization direction.This work suggests a promise to employ interfacial strain to accelerate the practical application of room temperature 2D magnetics.Junchuan Zhong Mingshan Wang Teng Liu Yinghe Zhao Xiang Xu Shasha Zhou Junbo Han Lin Gan Tianyou Zhai 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:1
