1Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake:A blind reserve-fault event显示文摘In the epicenter of the Lushan MS7.0 earthquake there are several imbricate active reverse faults lying from northwest to southeast,namely the Gengda-Longdong,Yanjing-Wulong,Shuangshi-Dachuan and Dayi faults.Emergency field investigations have indicated that no apparent earthquake surface rupture zones were located along these active faults or their adjacent areas.Only brittle compressive ruptures in the cement-covered pavements can be seen in Shuangshi,Taiping,Longxing and Longmen Townships,and these ruptures show that a local crustal shortening occurred in the region during the earthquake.Combining spatial distribution of the relocated aftershocks and focal mechanism solutions,it is inferred that the Lushan earthquake is classified as a typical blind reverse-fault earthquake,and it is advised that the relevant departments should pay great attention to other historically un-ruptured segments along the Longmenshan thrust belt and throughout its adjacent areas.XU XiWei WEN XueZe HAN ZhuJun CHEN GuiHua LI ChuanYou ZHENG WenJun ZHNAG ShiMin REN ZhiQun XU Chong TAN XiBin WEI ZhanYu WANG MingMing REN JunJie HE ZhongTai LIANG MingJian 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:35
2Evolution of Sedimentation and Tectonics of the Youjiang Composite Basin, South China显示文摘Located at the southern margin of the South China plate, the Youjiang basin is a closely related to the NW- and NE-trending syndepositional faults in respect to the configuration and structure of the basin. The evolution of the Youjiang basin progressed through two stages. In the Hercynian period, the opening of the Ailaoshan-Honghe ocean basin gave rise to a number of NW-trending rift belts in the Youjiang area. During this period, deep-water sediments were dominant and the basin was possesed of the characteristics of the rift system of passive continental margins. In the early Indosinian after the Dongwu movement, the circum - Pacific tectonism led to a major change in the configuration and structure of the basin. In the meantime, the Ailaoshan ocean basin began to be subducted towards the northeast, thus causing the basin to be split and expand again, and then the basin developed into the stage of the back -arc basin. 7Fabrication of ZnO nanorods in ionic liquids and their photoluminescent properties显示文摘A novel and simple approach is reported to fabricate uniform single-crystal ZnO nanorods in ionic liq-uids. The as-obtained ZnO nanorods have been characterized by XRD,TEM,HRTEM,SAED,XPS,EDXA,PL and UV-vis absorption spectra. The rod diameters of the nanostructures can be controlled by tuning the amount of sodium hydroxide in the synthesis. Photoluminescence results show that the nanos-tructural ZnO exhibits better optical properties than bulk ZnO does and interestingly,the smaller the rod diameters are,the better optical property 1D nanostructural ZnO exhibits. 8Estimation of the Type of Low Energy Discharge in GIS Adopting Characteristic Gas显示文摘In order to guarantee safe operations, low energy discharge within gas insulated switchgear (GIS) should be detected as soon as possible before they develop severely and cause final breakdown failures. This paper aims to present a GIS discharge diagnosis technique adopting gaseous decompositions. To reach this aim, needle-plate electrode and the sphere-plate electrode with metallic particles on the plate are designed to simulate two kinds of low energy discharge, namely, corona discharge and spark discharge, respectively. After sampling and analyzing the gases, different yields of gaseous by-products under different types of low energy discharge are obtained. 9Drainage Responses to the Activity of the Langshan Range-Front Fault and Tectonic Implications显示文摘Langshan, a monoclinic mountain, which started to uplift since Oligocene, bounds the northwest margin of the Hetao Basin. The continuous activity of the active normal Langshan rangefront fault forms the typical basin-and-range landform in Langshan area and controls the landform evolution of Langshan. Langshan is an ideal place to study relationship between quantitative geomorphological index and active deformation. According to study on knickpoints, fitting on longitudinal channel profiles and steepness index, we demonstrate that the main controlling factors on distribution of normalized steepness index of channels are not climate(precipitation), lithology, sediment flux, but tectonic factor, or the activity of Langshan range-front fault. The short channels in southeast flank, whose lengths are shorter than 16 km, may be still in the non-steady status. If not considering these short channels, the distribution of normalized steepness index along the Langshan range-front fault appears like M-shape pattern, while the normalized steepness index in the middle section is higher than those at both ends. This pattern is well consistent with geometrical segmentation model of the Langshan range-front fault. Combining previous active tectonic research on Langshan range-front fault, which demonstrates the Langshan range-front fault has been in the stage of linkup, we reasonably infer the Langshan range-front fault now is the result of linkup of both fault which continuously bilaterally extended independently. Our tectonic geomorphological study also supports the conclusion that the Langshan range-front fault has been in the stage of linkup. The formation of several knickpoints due to tectonic factor may have been caused by slip-rate variation because of linkup of both independent faults. 12Production of A356 aluminum alloy wheels by thixo-forging combined with a low superheat casting process显示文摘The A356 aluminum alloy wheels were produced by thixo-forging combined with a low superheat casting process.The as-cast microstructure,microstructure evolution during reheating and the mechanical properties of thixo-forged wheels made from the A356 aluminum alloy were studied.The results show that the A356 aluminum alloy round billet with fine,uniform and non-dendritic grains can be obtained when the melt is cast at 635 oC.When the round billet is reheated at 600 oC for 60 min,the non-dendritic grains are changed into spherical ones and the round billet can be easily thixo-forged into wheels.The tensile strength,yield strength and elongation of the thixo-forged wheels with T6 heat treatment are 327.6 MPa,228.3 MPa and7.8%,respectively,which are higher than those of a cast wheel.It is suggested that the thixo-forging combined with the low superheat casting process is an effective technique to produce aluminum alloy wheels with high mechanical properties.Wang Shuncheng Cai Chang Zheng Kaihong Qi Wenjun 2013China Foundry2013,10,5:5
13Distinct regulatory mechanism of immunoglobulin gene transcription in epithelial cancer cells显示文摘The restriction of immunoglobulin(Ig)expression to B lymphocytes is well established.However,several reports have confirmed that the Ig gene can be expressed in many non-B cancer cells and/or some normal cells.Our aim is to determine whether the Ig gene promoter can be activated in non-B cancer cells and to identify the regulatory mechanism for Ig gene expression.Our results show that the Ig promoter of VH4-59 was activated in several non-B cancer cell lines.Moreover,two novel positive regulatory elements,an enhancer-like element at 2800 to 2610 bp and a copromoter-like element at 2610 to 2300 bp,were identified in two epithelial cancer cell lines,HeLa S3 and HT-29.The octamer element(59-ATGCAAAT-39)located in the Ig promoter,a crucial element for B-cell-derived Ig gene transcription,was also very important for non-B-cell-derived Ig gene transcription.More importantly,we confirmed that octamer-related protein-1(Oct-1),but not Oct-2,was a crucial transcriptional factor for Ig gene transcription due to its ability to bind to the octamer element of the Ig promoter in epithelial cancer cells.These results suggested the presence of a distinct regulatory mechanism for Ig gene expression in non-B cancer cells.Xiaohui Zhu Lina Wu Li Zhang Peng Hao Shuai Zhang Jing Huang Jie Zheng Yinan Liu Wenjun Li Yingmei Zhang Chunyan Zhou Youhui Zhang C Cameron Yin Xiaoyan Qiu 2010Cellular & Molecular Immunology2010,7,4:5
14Devonian Sequence Stratigraphy and Relative Sea Level Changes in Longmenshan Area, Sichuan显示文摘The Longmenshan area is located at the western margin of Yangtze platform, where the Devonian is composed of clastic rocks, mixed clastic-carbonate rocks and carbonate rocks in ascending order, and was formed in the marine environment from nearshore to outer shelf. Based on a study of six sections the Devonian in Longemenshan area is divided into 18 sequences and 5 sequence sets. The maximum transgressive high in the Devonian of this area occurred in Early Frasnian, corresponding to asymmetricus zone. The boundaries among the sequence sets are roughly corresponding to the bottom boundaries of Ⅰa’,Ⅰc’,Ⅱa, and Ⅱd in the Devonian of West Europe and North America, respectively. 16Microstructure and cutting performance of Ti(C, N)-based cermets heat-treated in nitrogen显示文摘Ti(C, N)-based cermets were treated using hot isostatic pressing (HIP) at 1423 K in nitrogen. The microstructures compared with the as-sintered cermets were investigated using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmis- sion electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, and electron microprobe analysis. It was found that high nitro- gen activity in the surface zone resulted in the formation of gradient structure. Approximately 20-μm-deep, nitrogen-rich and titanium-rich hard surface zone was introduced by the heat treatment. The nitrogen activity was the driving force that caused the transportation of the atoms through the binder, titanium towards the surface, and tungsten and molybdenum in- wards. In the surface zone, the particle size became fine, the inner rim disappeared, and the volume fraction of the outer rim and the binder phase considerably reduced. 17Defect and interface engineering for electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction under ambient conditions显示文摘Electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(e-NRR)under ambient conditions is an emerging strategy to tackle the hydrogen-and energy-intensive operations for traditional Haber-Bosch process in industrial ammonia(NH_(3))synthesis.However,the e-NRR performance is currently impeded by the inherent inertness of N_(2) molecules,the extremely slow kinetics and the overwhelming competition from the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),all of which cause unsatisfied yield and ammonia selectivity(Faradaic efficiency,FE).Defect and interface engineering are capable of achieving novel physical and chemical properties as well as superior synergistic effects for various electrocatalysts.In this review,we first provide a general introduction to the NRR mechanism.We then focus on the recent progress in defect and interface engineering and summarize how defect and interface can be rationally designed and functioned in NRR catalysts.Particularly,the origin of superior NRR catalytic activity by applying these approaches was discussed from both theoretical and experimental perspectives.Finally,the remaining challenges and future perspectives in this emerging area are highlighted.It is expected that this review will shed some light on designing NRR electrocatalysts with excellent activity,selectivity and stability.Dongxue Guo Shuo Wang Jun Xu Wenjun Zheng Danhong Wang 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2:4
18Application of time reversal mirror technique in microwave-induced thermo-acoustic tomography system显示文摘Microwave-induced thermo-acoustic tomography (MITAT) is a promising technique with great potential in biomedical imaging. It has both the high contrast of the microwave imaging and the high resolution of the ultrasound imaging. In this paper, the proportional relationship between the absorbed microwave energy distribution and the induced ultrasound source distribution is derived. Further, the time reversal mirror (TRM) technique based on the pseudo-spectral time domain (PSTD) method is applied to MITAT system. 20A recombinant receptor-binding domain in trimeric form generates protective immunity against SARSCoV-2 infection in nonhuman primates显示文摘A safe and effective vaccine is critical to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.Here,we developed a trimeric SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domain(RBD)subunit vaccine candidate that simulates the natural structure of the spike(S)trimer glycoprotein.Immunization with the RBD trimer-induced robust humoral and cellular immune responses,and a high level of neutralizing antibodies was maintained for at least 4.5 months.Moreover,the antibodies that were produced in response to the vaccine effectively cross-neutralized the SARS-CoV-2501Y.V2 variant(B.1.351).Of note,when the vaccine-induced antibodies dropped to a sufficiently low level,only one boost quickly activated the anamnestic immune response,conferring full protection against a SARSCoV-2 challenge in rhesus macaques without typical histopathological changes in the lung tissues.These results demonstrated that the SARS-CoV-2 RBD trimer vaccine candidate is highly immunogenic and safe,providing long-lasting,broad,and significant immunity protection in nonhuman primates,thereby offering an optimal vaccination strategy against COVID-19.Limin Yang Deyu Tian Jian-bao Han Wenhui Fan Yuan Zhang Yunlong Li Wenqiang Sun Yanqiu Wei Xiaodong Tian Dan-dan Yu Xiao-li Feng Gong Cheng Yuhai Bi Yong-tang Zheng Wenjun Liu 2021The Innovation2021,2,3:3
