| 1 | Phase Evolution of Holocene Paleoenvironmental Changes in the Southern Yellow Sea: Benthic Foraminiferal Evidence from Core CO2显示文摘Assemblages of benthic foraminifera in a sediment core(C02)near the western margin of the southern Yellow Sea Mud were studied to decipher the phase evolution of Holocene paleoenvironmental changes associated with the Holocene marine transgression.It appears that during the early Holocene(11.2 10.1 kyr BP),the faunal was dominated by low salinity and shallow water species Cribrononion subincertum,Buccella frigida and Ammonia beccarii,reflecting a near coast depositional environment.A rapid increase of the relative abundance of Ammonia compressiuscula between 10.1 9.3 kyr BP indicates that the sea level rose rapidly during that time period.From 9.3 7.7 kyr BP,the benthic foraminiferal assemblage was dominated by high percentage of A.compressiscula,suggesting that the sea level was relatively stable.An obvious transition of benthic foraminifera,from the A.compressiuscula-dominated assemblage to an Ammonia ketienziensis-dominated assemblage,occurred between 7.7 6.2 kyr BP,possibly corresponding to a second sea level rapid rise period in the Yellow Sea during the Holocene.This transition may correspond to the gradually strengthened Yellow Sea warm current(YSWC)and finally is established the modern-type circulation in the Yellow Sea.It may also mark the formation of the Yellow Sea cold bottom water(YSCBW)during that period.Since then,the benthic foraminiferal assemblage based on core C02 was dominated by typical YSCBW species,A.ketienziensis,Astrononion italicum and Hanzawaia nipponica,at 6.2 4 kyr BP.A non-deposition period occurred since 4 kyr BP,which possibly related to the hydrology changes caused by the East Asia monsoon.The two obvious benthic foraminiferal transitions recorded in core C02 during the early and middle Holocene provide evidence that the Yellow Sea has undergone a two-phase rapid sea level rise during the Holocene marine transgression. | FANG Li XIANG Rong ZHAO Meixun ZHOU Liping LIU Jianguo ZHANG Lanlan | 2013 | Journal of Ocean University of China2013,12,4: | 8 |
| 2 | Fe3C-N-doped carbon modified separator for high performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘A new Fe3C-N-doped reduced graphene oxide(Fe3C-N-rGO)prepared by a facile method is used as a separator for high performance lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries.The Fe3C-N-rGO is coated on the surface of commercial polypropylene separator(Celgard 2400)close to the sulfur cathode.The special nanotubes are in-situ catalyzed by Fe3C nanoparticles.They could entrap lithium polysulfides(Li PSs)to restrain the shuttle effect and reduce the loss of active material.The battery with the modified separator and sulfur cathode shows an excellent cycle performance.It has a high rate performance,580.5 mAh/g at the high current rate of 4 C relative to 1075 mAh/g at 0.1 C.It also has an initial discharge capacity of 774.8 m Ah/g measured at 0.5 C and remains 721.8 mAh/g after 100 cycles with a high capacity retention of 93.2%.The outstanding performances are notable in recently reports with modified separator. | Hongyu Pan Zhong Tan Haihui Zhou Lanlan Jiang Zhongyuan Huang Qjaoxia Feng Qiang Zhou Shuai Ma Yafei Kuang | 2019 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,12: | 5 |
| 3 | Distribution of living radiolarians in spring in the South China Sea and its responses to environmental factors显示文摘Using a planktonic net(62-?m mesh) and a Rose-Bengal staining method, we studied the spatial distribution of living radiolarians in spring along two sections of the South China Sea(SCS) in spring and discussed the responses of living radiolarian distribution to tropical environmental factors. Generally, the highest abundance of living radiolarians occurred at the depth range of 25–75 m, where the chlorophyll-a maximum and the highest primary productivity were. In contrast, the maximum living abundance occurred in the top 25 m in cold eddies in the open seas and the abundance decreased with depth. We found that the inhibition effect of changing salinity(due to runoffs) on living radiolarians was much stronger than the promotion effect of mesoscale cold eddies. We observed that large variation of temperature was unfavorable for living radiolarians. The dominant species composition consisted of tropical-subtropical warm species. We identified some indicator species for tropical environments. Living Didymocyrtis tetrathalamus tetrathalamus could be an indicator for tropical surface water or mixed-layer water, and even for tropical oligotrophic water. Living Tetrapyle octacantha could be used to indicate tropical thermocline and eutrophic environment. Living Acanthodesmia vinculata could indicate tropical surface and subsurface waters. T. octacantha and A. vinculata should only be used as indicators for upwelling in the open seas, i.e., far away from river mouths. Living Siphonosphaera polysiphonia preferred to form colonies, which might be related to the effect of warm eddies. | 4 | Introduction of pokeweed antiviral protein cDNA into Brassica napus and acquisition of transgenic plants resistant to viruses显示文摘Using cotyledonary petioles as explants, the PAP cDNA controlled by wound-in-ducible promoter has been introduced into Brassica napus by coculture with Agrobacterium tumefaciens and laser microbeam puncture respectively. Regenerated plants resistant to gen-tamycin have been selected out. PCR amplification and Southern blotting analysis indicated that PAP cDNA together with wound-inducible promoter had been integrated into Brassica genome with transformation frequencies of 2.0% and 1.7% for two transformation methods respectively. | 5 | Effect of aging treatment on microstructure and corrosion behavior of a Fe-18Cr-15Mn-0.66N stainless steel显示文摘The effect of aging treatment on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of a Fe-18Cr-15Mn-0.66N high-nitrogen stainless steel(HNSS) in 3.5 wt.% Na Cl solution was investigated using a series of electrochemical tests, scanning electronic microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The results showed that the aging treatment led to the precipitation of CrN particles along the grain boundaries and their morphologies changed from dispersive particles to continuous network as the aging time increased up to 60 min. Aging time had minor effects on the corrosion potential and corrosion current density, but resulted in the sharp decrease in the pitting corrosion potential.The passive film behaved as a n-type semiconductor, and the donor density of the passive film increased with the aging time. Meanwhile, the fraction of stable oxide(CrO) in the passive film decreased with the aging time. | 6 | Accessible chromatin regions and their functional interrelations with gene transcription and epigenetic modifications in sorghum genome显示文摘Accessible chromatin regions(ACRs)provide physical scaffolds to recruit transcriptional co-regulators and displace their nearby nucleosomes in multiple plant species.Characterization of ACRs and investigation of their biological effects in Sorghum bicolor has lagged behind.Regulation of gene expression relies on the transcriptional co-regulators that are recruited to ACRs to affect epigenomic modifications of surrounding nucleosomes.In this study,we employed transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing to identify ACRs and decipher how the presence of ACRs affects gene expression and epigenetic signatures in the Sorghum genome.As a result,21077 ACRs,which are mapped to 22.9%of genes and 2.7%of repeats,were identified.The profiling of ACRs on gene structures reveals a narrow and sharp peak around the transcription start site,with relatively weak and broad signals covering the entire gene body and an explicit but wide peak from the transcription termination site to its downstream regions.We discovered that the correlations between gene expression levels and profiled ACR densities are dependent on the positions of ACRs.The occurrence of genic ACRs cumulatively enhances the transcriptional activity of intergenic ACR-associated genes.In addition,an intricate crosstalk among ACRs,gene expression,and epigenetic marks has been unveiled by integrating multiple-omics analyses of whole-genome bisulfite sequencing,6mA immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing,RNA sequencing,chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing,and DNase I hypersensitive sites sequencing datasets.Our study provides a genome-wide landscape of ACRs in sorghum,decrypts their interrelations with various epigenetic marks,and sheds new light on their roles in transcriptional regulation. | Chao Zhou Zhu Yuan Xueping Ma Huilan Yang Ping Wang Lanlan Zheng Yonghong Zhang Xiaoyun Liu | 2021 | Plant Communications2021,2,1: | 2 |
| 7 | Dual-metal atoms embedded into two-dimensional covalent organic framework as efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction:A DFT study显示文摘The electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is a half-reaction of water-splitting for hydrogen generation,yet suffers from its sluggish kinetics and large overpotential.It is highly desirable to develop efficient and stable OER electrocatalysts for the advancement of water-splitting.Herein,by means of density functional theory(DFT)calculations,we systematically investigated a series of two-dimensional(2D)dual-atom catalysts(DACs)on a novel synthesized covalent organic framework(COF)material as potential efficient catalysts toward the OER.The designed 6 homonuclear(2TM-COF)and 15 heteronuclear(TM1TM2-COF)DACs all exhibit good stability.There is a strong scaling relationship between the adsorption Gibbs free energies of HO*and HOO*intermediates,and the OER overpotential(η^(OER))volcano curve can be plotted as a function ofΔGO*−ΔGHO*.RhIr-COF shows the best OER catalytic activity with aη^(OER)value of 0.29 V,followed by CoNi-COF(0.33 V),RuRh-COF(0.34 V),and NiIrCOF(0.37 V).These four OER DACs exhibit lower onset potential and higher current density than that of the IrO2(110)benchmark catalyst.Aided by the descriptor identification study,the Bader charge that correlated with the Pauling electronegativity of the embedded dual-metal atoms was found to be the most important factor governing the catalytic activity of the OER.Our work highlights a potentially efficient class of 2D COF-based DACs toward the OER. | Yanan Zhou Lanlan Chen Li Sheng Qiquan Luo Wenhua Zhang Jinlong Yang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,9: | 2 |
| 8 | Construction of single-chromosome DNA library from Lilium regale Wilson显示文摘A protocol of simple rapid microdissection of single-chromosome, amplification and cloning of its DNA from Lilium regale Wilson is described. Single-chromosome, microdissected by micromanipulator, was put into a 0 5 mL Eppendorf tube and digested with Sau3A, and then the Sau3A linker adaptors were ligated to the ends of DNA fragments. After 2 rounds of PCR amplification with one chain of linker adaptor as primer, the PCR products thus obtained have a length of 300-2 500 base pairs (bp) with predominant fragments at about 1 000 bp. Southern blot analysis confirmed that the PCR products originated from the genome of Lilium regale Wilson. By cloning the amplification products from the second round of PCR, single-chromosome DNA library was constructed, in which about as many as 100 000 recombinant clones were produced. A total number of 84 clones were analysed, and it was revealed that the inserts ranged in size from 300 to 1 800 bp, with an average of 780 bp. Firstly, 7H chromosome of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) was dissected by Nd: YAG laserbeam with suitable parameters and the fragment comprising a satellite was isolated with a glass microneedle which was fixed on a micromanipulator. Then, the chromosomal fragment DNA was amplified by LA_PCR (linker adaptor PCR) for two rounds. The size of the DNA fragments of PCR products varied from 500-3 000 bp and the PCR products originated from the genome of barley were verified by Southern hybridization. Compared with previous reports, there are some advantages in this research. The performance is easier, the dissection is more precise and the cost is low. It also permits efficient amplification with only one single chromosome fragment. | 20 | Molecular cloning, identification and characteristics of NYD-SP9:Gene coding protein kinase presumably involved in spermatogenesis显示文摘Using cDNA microarray hybridization from a human testicular cDNA library, one gene exhibiting ten-fold difference at expression level between adult and embryo human testes was cloned and named NYD-SP9, which was believed to be involved in spermatogenesis. Southern blot hybridization results showed that NYD-SP9 expressed highly in testis but low in ovary. Protein motif analysis of this cDNA sequence revealed a cluster of phosphorylation sites, indicating its potential involvement in signal pathways during spermatogenesis. Furthermore, one transmembrane helix was predicted in N-terminal region, indicating that putative NYD-SP6 may be served as a transmembrane protein. The proximity of these potential phosphorylation sites to each other indicates that there may be interaction among these sites to regulate spermatogenesis.
