2Molecular Analysis of Legume Nodule Development and Autoregulation显示文摘Legumes are highly important food, feed and biofuel crops. With few exceptions, they can enter into an intricate symbiotic relationship with specific soil bacteria called rhizobia. This interaction results in the formation of a new root organ called the nodule in which the rhizobia convert atmospheric nitrogen gas into forms of nitrogen that are useable by the plant. The plant tightly controls the number of nodules it forms, via a complex root-to-shoot-to-root signaling loop called autoregulation of nodulation (AON). This regulatory process involves peptide hormones, receptor kinases and small metabolites. Using modern genetic and genomic techniques, many of the components required for nodule formation and AON have now been isolated. This review addresses these recent findings, presents detailed models of the nodulation and AON processes, and identifies gaps in our understanding of these process that have yet to be fully explained.Brett J. 3Potential prospects of nanomedicine for targeted therapeutics in inflammatory bowel diseases显示文摘Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) such as Crohn's disease are highly debilitating. There are inconsistencies in response to and side effects in the current conventional medications, failures in adequate drug delivery, and the lack of therapeutics to offer complete remission in the presently available treatments of IBD. This suggests the need to explore beyond the horizons of conventional approaches in IBD therapeutics. This review examines the arena of the evolving IBD nanomedicine, studied so far in animal and in vitro models, before comprehensive clinical testing in humans. The investigations carried out so far in IBD models have provided substantial evidence of the nanotherapeutic approach as having the potential to overcome some of the current drawbacks to conventional IBD therapy. 4Acute kidney injury and post-reperfusion syndrome in liver transplantation显示文摘In the past decades liver transplantation(LT) has become the treatment of choice for patients with end stage liver disease(ESLD). The chronic shortage of cadaveric organs for transplantation led to the utilization of a greater number of marginal donors such as older donors or donors after circulatory death(DCD). The improved survival of transplanted patients has increased the frequency of long-term complications, in particular chronic kidney disease(CKD). Acute kidney injury(AKI) post-LT has been recently recognized as an important risk factor for the occurrence of denovo CKD in the long-term outcome. The onset of AKI post-LT is multifactorial, with pre-LT risk factors involved, including higher Model for End-stage Liver Disease score, more sever ESLD and pre-existing renal dysfunction, either with intra-operative conditions, in particular ischaemia reperfusion injury responsible for post-reperfusion syndrome(PRS) that can influence recipient's morbidity and mortality. Post-reperfusion syndrome-induced AKI is an important complication post-LT that characterizes kidney involvement caused by PRS with mechanisms not clearly understood and implication on graft and patient survival. Since preLT risk factors may influence intra-operative events responsible for PRS-induced AKI, we aim to consider all the relevant aspects involved in PRS-induced AKI in the setting of LT and to identify all studies that better clarified the specific mechanisms linking PRS and AKI. A Pub Med search was conducted using the terms liver transplantation AND acute kidney injury; liver transplantation AND post-reperfusion syndrome; acute kidney injury AND post-reperfusion syndrome; acute kidney injury AND DCD AND liver transplantation. Five hundred seventy four articles were retrieved on Pub Med search. Results were limited to title/abstract of English-language articles published between 2000 and 2015. Twenty-three studies were identified that specifically evaluated incidence, risk factors and outcome for patients developing PRS-induced AKI in liver transplantation. In order to identify intra-operative risk factors/mechanisms specifically involved in PRSinduced AKI, avoiding confounding factors, we have limited our study to 'acute kidney injury AND DCD AND liver transplantation'. 8Why interleukin-10 supplementation does not work in Crohn's disease patients显示文摘Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis are chronic intestina disorders, which are on the increase in 'Westernised' countries. IBD can be caused by both genetic and environmental factors. Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an immunoregulatory cytokine that has been identified as being involved in several diseases including IBD. Studies have shown that polymorphisms in the promoter region reduce serum levels of IL-10 and this reduction has been associated with some forms of IBD. Mouse models have shown promising results with IL-10 supplementation, as such IL-10 supplementation has been touted as being a possible alternative treatment for CD in humans. Clinical trials have shown that recombinant human IL-10 is safe and well tolerated up to a dose o 8 μg/kg. However, to date, the results of the clinica trials have been disappointing. Although CD activity was reduced as measured by the CD activity index IL-10 supplementation did not result in significantly reduced remission rates or clinical improvements when compared to placebo. This review discusses why IL-10supplementation is not effective in CD patients currently and what can be addressed to potentially make IL-10 supplementation a more viable treatment option in the future. 9Single nucleotide polymorphism in the tumor necrosis factor-alpha gene affects inflammatory bowel diseases risk显示文摘AIM: To investigate the role that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the promoter of the tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) gene play in the risk of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) in a New Zealand population, in the context of international studies. METHODS: DNA samples from 388 patients with Crohn's disease (CD), 405 ulcerative colitis (UC), 27 indeterminate colitis (IC) and 201 randomly selected controls, from Canterbury, New Zealand were screened for 3 common polymorphisms in the TNF-α receptor: -238 G→A, -308 G→A and -857C→T, using a TaqmanR assay. A meta-analysis was performed on the data obtained on these polymorphisms combined with that from other published studies. RESULTS: Individuals carrying the -308 G/A allele had a significantly (OR = 1.91, χ2 = 17.36, P < 0.0001) increased risk of pancolitis, and a 1.57-fold increased risk (OR = 1.57, χ2 = 4.34, P = 0.037) of requiring a bowel resection in UC. Carrying the -857 C/T variant decreased the risk of ileocolonic CD (OR = 0.56, χ2 =4.32, P = 0.037), and the need for a bowel resection (OR = 0.59, χ2 = 4.85, P = 0.028). The risk of UC was reduced in individuals who were smokers at diagnosis, (OR = 0.48, χ2 = 4.86, P = 0.028). CONCLUSION: TNF-α is a key cytokine known to play a role in inflammatory response, and the locus for the gene is found in the IBD3 region on chromosome 6p21, known to be associated with an increased risk for IBD. The -308 G/A SNP in the TNF-α promoter is functional, and may account in part for the increased UC risk associated with the IBD3 genomic region. The -857 C/T SNP may decrease IBD risk in certain groups. 10Effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy-based interventions on health outcomes in patients with coronary heart disease:A metaanalysis显示文摘BACKGROUND Recently,the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT)-based intervention on health outcomes in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)has been recognized in randomized controlled trials(RCTs),but no comprehensive systematic review has been conducted.To address this research gap,our study aimed to evaluate whether comprehensive CBT-based interventions positively affect health outcomes in CHD patients.It was hypothesized that CBT-based interventions are effective in:(1)Reducing depression,anxiety,and stress symptoms;(2)Reducing body mass index,blood pressure,and lipid levels;and(3)Improving quality of life,and exercise endurance.AIM To verify the effectiveness of CBT-based interventions on CHD patients through a meta-analysis of previous publications.METHODS Relevant RCTs published in English were obtained by searching electronic databases,including PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,Scopus,and Proquest,with the retrieval time from inception to August 2020.The primary outcomes were psychological factors(depression,anxiety,and stress symptoms),physiological factors(body mass index,blood pressure,blood lipids).The secondary outcomes included quality of life and exercise endurance.We used Review Manager 5.3 to conduct the meta-analysis and used the Physiotherapy Evidence Database tool to evaluate the quality of studies.RESULTS A total of 22 RCTs comprising 4991 patients with CHD were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis.The main analysis revealed that CBT-based intervention can reduce depression symptoms:-2.00[95%confidence interval(CI):-2.83 to-1.16,P<0.001];anxiety symptoms:-2.07(95%CI:-3.39 to-0.75,P=0.002);stress symptoms:-3.33(95%CI:-4.23 to-2.44,P<0.001);body mass index:-0.47(95%CI:-0.81 to-0.13,P=0.006);and improve physical functioning:3.36(95%CI:1.63 to 5.10,P=0.000)and mental functioning:6.91(95%CI:4.10 to 9.73,P<0.001).Moreover,subgroup analysis results showed that CBT-based interventions were more effective for symptoms of depression and anxiety in CHD patients when individual,as opposed to group treatment,and psycho-education,behavioral and cognitive strategies were applied as the core treatment approaches.CONCLUSION CBT-based interventions are effective treatment strategies for CHD patients,significantly improving their symptoms of depression,anxiety and stress,body mass index,and health-related quality of life.Yan-Ni Li Nicholas Buys Samantha Ferguson Zhan-Jiang Li Jing Sun 2021World Journal of Psychiatry2021,11,11:5
11Computer Modeling and Validations of Steel Gear Heat Treatment Processes Using Commercial Software DANTE显示文摘The heat treatment process of a gear made of AISI 9310 carburized steel is modeled using the commercial heat treatment simulation software DANTE.Both carburization and quenching processes affect the residual stress distribution and distortion of heat-treated parts,which are important to service quality and fatigue life.DANTE/VCARB is used to design the boost/diffuse schedule of a vacuum carburization process.Oil quenching is modeled following the vacuum carburization process.Thermal gradient and phase transformation are two main sources of distortion and residual stresses in quenched parts.The relation of the carbon distribution,thermal gradient,and phase transformations during quenching is studied through the gear modeling example.Because of geometry,the residual stress distribution after quenching is non-uniform along the gear surface.In general,the root fillet has higher residual compression than either the root or tooth face locations after traditional oil quenching of carburized gears.The predicted residual stresses from the oil quenching model are imported into a single tooth fatigue bending model.The gear stresses under bending load indicate the possible cracking locations during the bending fatigue test.The importance of heat treatment residual stresses during gear design is pointed out,and it is commonly ignored in the gear design and manufacturing industry.李志超 FERGUSON B.Lynn 2011Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong university(Science)2011,16,2:5

14医务人员呼吸道感染影响因素的巢式病例对照研究显示文摘目的探索医务人员在院内感染呼吸道传染病的影响因素,针对性的提出院感防范重点及感染控制改进建议。方法本研究采用巢式病例对照研究的方法。选取北京市东城区和西城区的9家二级以上医院,将符合条件的医务人员作为一个队列,对其医疗行为进行为期一个月的观察。依据咽拭子病原学检测结粜削定研究对象的呼吸道感染状况,并将他们分为病例组和对照组。通过问卷调查了解并比较肼组人员在职、眦暴露与防护行为等方面的差异。数据分析应用STATA11.0软件完成,危险因素的分析采用非条件Logistic回归。结果共有481名医务人员完成本次研究,随访率为100%。在481名研究对象中有40例经实验室确诊为呼吸道感染,纳入病例组,其他441人纳入对照组。单因素分析显示,医院级别、工作科室、高危操作、接触病人后洗手等四个因素可能与医务人员发生呼吸道感染相关。多因素非条件logistic回归分析发现,共有2个因素进入回归方程,其中从事高危操作(OR=2.42,95%CI1.06~5.50)为发生呼吸道感染的危险因素,接触病人后洗手(OR=0.41,95%CI0.19—0.89)为保护性因素。结论为防止医务人员在院内感染呼吸道传染病,针对其危险因素所采取的干预措施亟待开展。张奕 Chandini Raina MacIntyre 杨鹏 Holly Seale 王小莉 刘文婷 Simon Cauchemez Neil Ferguson 王全意 2011国际病毒学杂志2011,18,5:4

17Micro RNA biomarkers predicting risk,initiation and progression of colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer is a major global cause of morbidity and mortality. Current strategies employed to increase detection of early,curable stages of this disease are contributing to a reduction of the negative health impact from it. While there is a genetic component to the risk of disease,diet and environment are known to have major effects on the risk of an individual for developing the disease. However,there is the potential to reduce the impact of this disease further b y preventing disease develop ment. Biomarkers which can either predict the risk for or early stages of colorectal cancer could allow intervention at a time when prospects could be modified by environmental factors,including lifestyle and diet choices. Thus,such biomarkers could be used to identify high risk individuals who would benefit from lifestyle and dietary interventions to prevent this disease. This review will give an overview on one type of biomarker in the form of micro RNAs,which have the potential to predict an individual's risk for colorectal cancer,as well as providing a highly sensitive and non-invasive warning of disease presence and/or progression. Micro RNA biomarkers which have been studied and whose levels look promising for this purpose include Mi R-18 a,Mi R-21,Mi R-92 a,Mi R-135 b,Mi R-760,Mi R-601. Not only have several individual micro RNAs appeared promising as biomarkers,but panels of these may be even more useful. 19SEVERE PLASTIC DEFORMATION TECHNIQUES显示文摘There is a considerable interest in developing methods for processing of materials with ultrafine grain si- zes. Widely used methods in refining microstructure are severe/intense plastic deformation techniques, such as torsion straining, equal channel angular (ECA) pressing/extrusion,and accumulative roll bonding (ARB) technique.While the torsion technique has been available for decades,a new torsion system has been developed at DSI for simulation of complex stress states such as combination of shear and compression or shear and tension stress states. The equal channel angular pressing technique is ma- inly used for production of ultrafine grain aluminum alloys,which is aimed at develoment of high strain rate superplasticity.The accumulative roll bonding technique has been applied for the rolling of both aluminum alloy and steels to produce ultrafine gained materials. Three different types of hot compression deformation methods, each with a different number of deforma- tion axis, are introduced in this paper. They are single axis deformation, two axis deformation and three axis deformation.The single axis deformation has us or little restraint such as plane strain type testing and axisymmetric compression testing, the two - axis deformation can be fully restrained or un- restrained, and the three - axis deformation has no restraint. The two - axis restrainsd compression deformation techopue is recommended for loboratory side after comparing the single - axis and the three - axis deformation techniques since the bulk volume of the two - axis restraint compression speci- men can be easily machined into mechanical testing speciments for mechanical property measurement and other studies,and the technique can be aplied to studies of any metallic materials.W.
