| 2 | Key genes expressed in different stages of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘The temporal expression of microRNA after spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury is not yet fully understood.In the present study,we established a model of spinal cord ischemia in Sprague-Dawley rats by clamping the abdominal aorta for 90 minutes,before allowing reperfusion for 24 or 48 hours.A sham-operated group underwent surgery but the aorta was not clamped.The damaged spinal cord was removed for hematoxylin-eosin staining and RNA extraction.Neuronal degeneration and tissue edema were the most severe in the 24-hour reperfusion group,and milder in the 48-hour reperfusion group.RNA amplification,labeling,and hybridization were used to obtain the microRNA expression profiles of each group.Bioinformatics analysis confirmed four differentially expressed microRNAs(miR-22-3p,miR-743b-3p,miR-201-5p and miR-144-5p) and their common target genes(Tmem69 and CxcllO).Compared with the sham group,miR-22-3p was continuously upregulated in all three ischemia groups but was highest in the group with no reperfusion,whereas miR-743b-3p,miR-201-5p and miR-144-5p were downregulated in the three ischemia groups.We have successfully identified the key genes expressed at different stages of spinal cord ischemia/reperfusion injury,which provide a reference for future investigations into the mechanism of spinal cord injury. | lian-an Li Chun-fang Zan Peng Xia Chang-jun Zheng Zhi-ping Qi Chun-xu Li Zhi-gang Liu Ting-ting Hou Xiao-yu Yang | 2016 | Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,11: | 9 |

| 4 | Potato/Maize intercropping reduces infestation of potato tuber moth, Phthorimaea operculella(Zeller) by the enhancement of natural enemies显示文摘The potato tuber moth(PTM),Phthorimaea operculella(Zeller),is one of the most economically significant insect pests for potato in both field and storage worldwide.To evaluate the infestation,reduction of potato yield and the control efficacy for PTM,field tests were conducted in two seasons by intercropping of potato as the host plant with maize as a non-host plant of PTM.Three intercropping patterns were tested,which were 2 rows of potatoes with either 2,3,or 4 rows of maize(abbreviated 2 P:2 M,2 P:3 M,and 2 P:4 M),and the monocropped potato as the control,2 rows of potatoes,without maize,(abbreviated 2 P:0 M).Results showed that the population and infestation of PTM in the 2 P:3 M intercropping pattern was significantly lower than those in 2 P:2 M,2 P:4 M and the monocropping pattern of 2 P:0 M,due to the enhancement of natural enemies.Cumulative mines and tunneling in potato leaves in 2 P:3 M intercropping were significantly lower than those in 2 P:2 M and 2 P:4 M patterns.The population of parasitoids and the parasitism rate of PTM in intercropping pattern of 2 P:3 M were significantly higher than that in intercropping pattern of 2 P:2 M,2 P:4 M and monocropping pattern of 2 P:0 M.We conclude that the potato intercropped with maize reduced the adult and larva populations,and reduced the damage from PTM by enhancing the number of parasitoids and the level of parasitism.The greatest population density of parasitoids and parasitism rate were in the intercropping pattern of 2 rows of potatoes with 3 rows of maize.These data indicate that the host/non-host intercropping patterns can be used as a biological control tactic against PTM by enhancing the density of natural enemies in the agro-ecosystems. | ZHENG Ya-qiang ZHANG Li-min CHEN Bin YAN Nai-sheng GUI Fu-rong ZAN Qing-an DU Guang-zu HE Shu-qi LI Zheng-yue GAO Yu-lin XIAO Guan-li | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,2: | 8 |

Results indicated that the total As concentrations in sediment samples of lakes of the East Plain Lake Ecoregion are higher than those of Yungui Plateau Lake Ecoregion. Residual As is the main fraction in sediment samples of lakes from both ecoregions, followed by reducible As and soluble or oxidizable As. The total As is correlated to oxidizable As and residual As in sediment samples from both lake ecoregions. As distribution in sediment samples of lakes of the East Plain Ecoregion appears to be affected by human activity, while the As origin mainly comes from natural sources in sediment samples of lakes in the Yungui Plateau Ecoregion. Results showed that the hierarchical Ag-SiO_2@Fe_3O_4 magnetic composites had favorable Hg^0 removal ability at low temperature. Moreover, the adsorption capacity of hierarchical magnetic composite is much larger than that of pure Fe_3O_4 and SiO_2@Fe_3O_4. The Hg^0 removal efficiency reached the highest value as approximately 92% under the reaction temperature of 150°C, while the removal efficiency sharply reduced in the absence of O_2. The characterization results indicated that Ag nanoparticles grew on the surface of SiO_2@Fe_3O_4 support. The large surface area of SiO_2 supplied efficient reaction room for Hg and Ag atoms. Ag–Hg amalgam is generated on the surface of the composites. | 7 | Two selenium tolerant Lysinibacillus sp. strains are capable of reducing selenite to elemental Se efficiently under aerobic conditions显示文摘Microbes play important roles in the transport and transformation of selenium(Se) in the environment, thereby influencing plant resistance to Se and Se accumulation in plant. The objectives are to characterize the bacteria with high Se tolerance and reduction capacity and explore the significance of microbial origins on their Se tolerance, reduction rate and efficiency. Two bacterial strains were isolated from a naturally occurred Se-rich soil at tea orchard in southern Anhui Province, China. The reduction kinetics of selenite was investigated and the reducing product was characterized using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy. The bacteria were identified as Lysinibacillus xylanilyticus and Lysinibacillus macrolides,respectively, using morphological, physiological and molecular methods. The results showed that the minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs) of selenite for L. xylanilyticus and L. macrolides were 120 and 220 mmol/L, respectively, while MICs of selenate for L.xylanilyticus and L. macrolides were 800 and 700 mmol/L, respectively. Both strains aerobically reduced selenite with an initial concentration of 1.0 mmol/L to elemental Se nanoparticles(SeNPs) completely within 36 hr. Biogenic SeNPs were observed both inside and outside the cells suggesting either an intra-or extracellular reduction process. Our study implied that the microbes from Se-rich environments were more tolerant to Se and generally quicker and more efficient than those from Se-free habitats in the reduction of Se oxyanions. | 9 | Molecular characteristics and evolutionary analysis of a very virulent infectious bursal disease virus显示文摘Infectious bursal disease virus(IBDV) poses a significant threat to the poultry industry. Viral protein 2(VP2), the major structural protein of IBDV, has been subjected to frequent mutations that have imparted tremendous genetic diversity to the virus. To determine how amino acid mutations may affect the virulence of IBDV, we built a structural model of VP2 of a very virulent strain of IBDV identified in China, vv IBDV Gx, and performed a molecular dynamics simulation of the interaction between virulence sites. The study showed that the amino acid substitutions that distinguish vv IBDV from attenuated IBDV(H253Q and T284A) favor a hydrophobic and flexible conformation of ?-barrel loops in VP2, which could promote interactions between the virus and potential IBDV-specific receptors. Population sequence analysis revealed that the IBDV strains prevalent in East Asia show a significant signal of positive selection at virulence sites 253 and 284. In addition, a signal of co-evolution between sites 253 and 284 was identified. | 10 | A Versatile Method for Uniform Dispersion of Nanocarbons in Metal Matrix Based on Electrostatic Interactions显示文摘Realizing the uniform dispersion of nanocarbons such as carbon nanotube and graphene in metals, is an essential prerequisite to fully exhibit their enhancement effect in mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of metal matrix composites(MMCs). In this work, we propose an effective method to achieve uniform distribution of nanocarbons in various metal flakes through a slurry-based method. It relies on the electrostatic interactions between the negatively charged nanocarbons and the positively charged metal flakes when mixed in slurry. For case study, flake metal powders(Al, Mg, Ti,Fe, and Cu) were positively charged in aqueous suspension by spontaneous ionization or cationic surface modification. While nanocarbons, given examples as carboxylic multi-walled carbon nanotubes, pristine single-walled carbon nanotube, and carbon nanotube–graphene oxide hybrid were negatively charged by the ionization of oxygen-containing functional groups or anionic surfactant. It was found that through the electrostatic interaction mechanism, all kinds of nanocarbons can be spontaneously and efficiently adsorbed onto the surface of various metal flakes. | 14 | Method of neural network modulation recognition based on clustering and Polak-Ribiere algorithm显示文摘To improve the recognition rate of signal modulation recognition methods based on the clustering algorithm under the low SNR, a modulation recognition method is proposed. The characteristic parameter of the signal is extracted by using a clustering algorithm, the neural network is trained by using the algorithm of variable gradient correction(Polak-Ribiere) so as to enhance the rate of convergence, improve the performance of recognition under the low SNR and realize modulation recognition of the signal based on the modulation system of the constellation diagram.Simulation results show that the recognition rate based on this algorithm is enhanced over 30% compared with the methods that adopt clustering algorithm or neural network based on the back propagation algorithm alone under the low SNR. | 15 | Comprehensive strategy of conduit guidance combined with VEGF producing Schwann cells accelerates peripheral nerve repair显示文摘Peripheral nerve regeneration requires stepwise and well-organized establishment of microenvironment.Since local delivery of VEGF-A in peripheral nerve repair is expected to promote angiogenesis in the microenvironment and Schwann cells(SCs)play critical role in nerve repair,combination of VEGF and Schwann cells may lead to efficient peripheral nerve regeneration.VEGF-A overexpressing Schwann cells were established and loaded into the inner wall of hydroxyethyl cellulose/soy protein isolate/polyaniline sponge(HSPS)conduits.When HSPS is mechanically distorted,it still has high durability of strain strength,thus,can accommodate unexpected strain of nerve tissues in motion.A 10 mm nerve defect rat model was used to test the repair performance of the HSPS-SC(VEGF)conduits,meanwhile the HSPS,HSPS-SC,HSPS-VEGF conduits and autografts were worked as controls.The immunofluorescent co-staining of GFP/VEGF-A,Ki67 and MBP showed that the VEGF-A overexpressing Schwann cells could promote the proliferation,migration and differentiation of Schwann cells as the VEGF-A was secreted from the VEGF-A overexpressing Schwann cells.The nerve repair performance of the multifunctional and flexible conduits was examined though rat behavioristics,electrophysiology,nerve innervation to gastrocnemius muscle(GM),toluidine blue(TB)staining,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and NF200/S100 double staining in the regenerated nerve.The results displayed that the effects on the repair of peripheral nerves in HSPS-SC(VEGF)group was the best among the conduits groups and closed to autografts.HSPS-SC(VEGF)group exhibited notably increased CD31+endothelial cells and activation of VEGFR2/ERK signaling pathway in the regenerated nerve tissues,which probably contributed to the improved nerve regeneration.Altogether,the comprehensive strategy including VEGF overexpressing Schwann cells-mediated and HSPS conduit-guided peripheral nerve repair provides a new avenue for nerve tissue engineering. | Ping Wu Zan Tong Lihua Luo Yanan Zhao Feixiang Chen Yinping Li Céline Huselstein Qifa Ye Qingsong Ye Yun Chen | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,10: | 4 |

The accuracy metric is described by the localization error covariance matrix of classical closed-form solution, which is introduced to convert the TDOA nonlinear equations into pseudo linear equations. The non-convex optimization problem is relaxed to a standard semi-definite program(SDP) and efficiently solved in a short time. In addition, we extend the sensor selection method to a mixed TDOA and angle of arrival(AOA) localization scenario with the presence of sensor position errors. | 19 | Effects of the Residues of Cuscuta campestris and Mikania micrantha on Subsequent Plant Germination and Early Growth显示文摘Cuscuta campestris,a dodder,can parasitize and suppress a scrambling herbaceous to semi-woody perennial vine,Mikania micrantha,one of the most destructive weeds in the world.To assess the effects of the mixed residue of C.campestris and M.micrantha on the subsequent plant community,we conducted a one-year experiment on the germination and seedling growth of subsequent plant community after the application of C.campestris.Seven treatments of varying proportions of C.campestris and M.micrantha residue on 21 subject trees and shrubs,which were commonly found in South China,resulted in a germination rate of 35.3% for all 8 715 seeds from 18 species,ranging from 5.7 to 81.9%;the remaining 3 species failed to germinate.ANOVA analysis showed that the residue did not affect the germination,growth,or mortality of the trees and shrubs.The germinated C.campestris seeds from the residue coiled the seedlings of most of the species,but less than 4% host death caused by C.campestris.In addition,the residue did not affect the germination of the herbaceous seedlings originating from the loam,and the similarity coefficients of the germinated seedlings between the treatments were very high.These results suggested that the residue had no negative impact on the germination and early seedling stages of the tree,shrub and grass species of the subsequent plant community.The use of C.campestris residue had a positive effect on the growth of M.micrantha,but it did not change the trend of M.micrantha being suppressed because re-parasitization occurred soon after the growth restarted.No negative effect was detected on the other species as a result of the parasitization of C.campestris or by the use of the mixed residue.This suggests that C.campestris is likely to be an effective and promising ecologically safe native herbaceous agent for controlling M.micrantha. | LI Feng-lan LI Ming-guang ZAN Qi-jie GUO Qiang ZHANG Wei-yin WU Zhi WANG Yong-jun | 2012 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2012,11,11: | 3 |
| 20 | Cognitive Frequency Hopping Sequences显示文摘Since the immutable conventional Frequency hopping(FH) sequence cannot keep high FH communication reliability in complex electromagnetic environment, we propose an algorithm that can generate high-performance Cognitive frequency hopping sequence(CFHS) for Cognitive frequency hopping(CFH) system.By employing the pseudo-random perturbation mapping,the CFHS is generated by remapping the block cipher FH sequence with the adaptive frequency slot number and frequency gap. The CFHS inherits the great integrated performance and its parameters could change with the electromagnetic environment. The statistics properties of Markov and uniformity are analyzed based on the Markov process theory and probability theory. Simulation results show that CFHS outperforms the widely-used FH sequences on the performance of uniformity, randomness, Hamming correlation, complexity and sensitivity.
