| 4 | Isolation and characterization of a heat-resistant strain with high yield of Pyropia yezoensis Ueda(Bangiales,Rhodophyta)显示文摘A heat-resistant Pyropia yezoensis strain YZ-4 was isolated from the regenerated blades of single somatic cells of the wild-type(WT)blades treated with 60Co-g-irradiation.When cultured at 23C and 24C,the survival and division rates of the YZ-4 conchospores were significantly higher than those of WT(P<0.01).After 16 days in culture the survival rates of YZ-4 conchospores were 71.2%and 60.8%at 23C and 24C,respectively,and the division rates of the surviving conchospores were 100%in both cases.Under the same culture conditions,the survival rates of WT conchospores were only 16.9%and 11.5%,and the division rate 99.8%and 81.8%respectively.The resistance of 50-day-aged F1 gametophytic blades of YZ-4 to the temperature rebound was also significantly higher than those of WT(P<0.01).After 30 days in culture at 18C,23C and 24C,the mean blade length increased by 8.5,4.3 and 2.3 times in YZ-4 and was only 3,0.6 and 0.4 times in WT,respectively.The mean blade weight increased 191.9,85.4 and 66.2 times in YZ-4,but only 78.2,7.8 and 4.6 times in WT.On the 15th day WT blades began to decay,but no decay was observed in YZ-4 blades even after 45 days in culture at 23C and 24C.The results obtained indicate that YZ-4 has a higher resistance to higher temperature insults than WT and it might be of value for commercial production of P.yezoensis. | Hongchang Ding Binglei Zhang Xinghong Yan | 2016 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2016,1,1: | 5 |
| 5 | Novel application of bergapten and quercetin with anti-bacterial,osteogenesis-potentiating,and anti-inflammation tri-effects显示文摘The bacteria-mediated inflammatory conditions adversely affect the osseointegration process of endosseous implants,which can even lead to implant malfunction or failure.Local drug delivery has been designed to exert anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities,but whether this strategy has an effect on the compromised osseointegration under inflammation has rarely been studied.The present study focused on the osteoinductive efficacy of two known phytoestrogens[bergapten(BP)and quercetin(QE)]on implant sites under multiple bacteria-infected conditions in situ.Furthermore,the gene expression profiles of rat bone mesenchymal stem cells(rBMSCs)treated with BP and QE in the presence of Porphyromonas gingivalis-derived lipopolysaccharide were identified.The results showed that both drugs,especially QE,had significant potentiating effects on promoting osteogenic differentiation of rBMSCs,resisting multiple pathogens,and reducing inflammatory activity.Meanwhile,RNA sequencing analysis highlighted the enriched gene ontology terms and the differentially expressed genes(Vps25,Il1r2,Csf3,Efemp1,and Ccl20)that might play essential roles in regulating the above tri-effects,which provided the basis for the drug delivery system to be used as a novel therapeutic strategy for integrating peri-implant health.Overall,our study confirmed that QE appeared to outperform BP in osteogenesis and bacterial killing but not in anti-inflammation.Moreover,both drugs possess favorable tri-effects and can serve as the pivotal agents for the drug delivery system to boost osseointegration at inflammatory implant sites. | Jianxu Wei Xiaomeng Zhang Yuan Li Xinxin Ding Yi Zhang Xue Jiang Hongchang Lai Junyu Shi | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,6: | 4 |
| 6 | Redistribution of Li-ions using covalent organic frameworks towards dendrite-free lithium anodes:a mechanism based on a Galton Board显示文摘Because of its high theoretical specific capacity and low reduction potential,Li metal is considered to be key to reaching high energy density in rechargeable batteries.In this context,most of the research has focused on suppressing dendrite formation during Li deposition to improve the cycling reversibility and safety of the batteries.Here,covalent organic framework(COF)film coating on a commercial polypropylene separator is applied as an ion redistributor to eliminate Li dendrites.The COF crystallites consist of ordered nanochannels that hinder the movement of anions while allowing Li-ions to transport across,leading to a high Li-ion transference number of 0.77±0.01.The transport of Li-ions across the COF film can be considered to be analogous to beads passing through a Galton Board,a model that demonstrates a statistical concept of a normal distribution.Thus,an even distribution of Li-ions is obtained at the COF/Li metal interface.The controlled Li-ion flux yields a smooth Li metal surface after 1,000 h(500 times)of cycling,leading to a significantly improved cycling stability and reversibility,as demonstrated by Cu||Li half cells,Li||Li symmetric cells,and Li Fe PO4||Li full cells.These results suggest that,following the principle of a Galton Board,nanopore insulators such as COF-based materials are effective ion distributors for the different energy storage or conversion systems. | Huanyu Xie Qing Hao Hongchang Jin Shuai Xie Zhaowei Sun Yadong Ye Chaohui Zhang Dong Wang Hengxing Ji Li-Jun Wan | 2020 | Science China Chemistry2020,63,9: | 3 |

| 8 | Ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablationfor small liver cancers adjacent to large vessels:long-term outcomes and strategies显示文摘Objective The aim of the study was to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of percutaneous microwave ablation(MWA) for small hepatic cancers adjacent to large vessels and to investigate the treatment strategies.Methods From March 2009 to July 2015,a total of 86 patients with 94 tumors underwent ultrasound(US)-guided percutaneous MWA,with pathologically proven or clinically diagnosed liver cancers measuring ≤ 3 cm in diameter and located ≤ 10 mm from a major vessel(n = 94).Regular follow-up after MWA was performed to assess treatment efficacy and perioperative complications.Results The complete ablation rate at 1 month after MWA was 93.3%(84/90).The 6-,9-,12-,24-,36-,48-,60-,72-,and 84-month local recurrence rates were 2.4%,2.4%,3.7%,6.6%,8.4%,8.4%,8.4%,8.4%,and 8.4%,respectively.There were no major complications.The perioperative special complication rate was 5.32%(5/94),including 3 cases of moderate liver function damage and 2 cases of limited sub-capsular hematoma.Conclusion Percutaneous MWA for small hepatic cancers adjacent to large vessels is feasible,effective,and safe with an acceptable rate of complications.The key point is to strictly follow operative indications and adopt proper treatment strategies. | Ruobing Liu Kaiyan Li Hongchang Luo Wei Zhang Tingting Zhang Meng Gao Wenhui Zha Xinwu Cui Youbin Deng | 2017 | Oncology and Translational Medicine2017,3,2: | 3 |
| 9 | The deubiquitinase OTUD1 inhibits colonic inflammation by suppressing RIPK1-mediated NF-κB signaling显示文摘The E3 ubiquitin ligase(E3)-mediated ubiquitination and deubiquitinase(DUB)-mediated deubiquitination processes are closely associated with the occurrence and development of colonic inflammation.Ovarian tumor deubiquitinase 1(OTUD1)is involved in immunoregulatory functions linked to infectious diseases.However,the effect of OTUD1 on intestinal immune responses during colonic inflammatory disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)remains unclear.Here,we show that loss of OTUD1 in mice contributes to the pathogenesis of dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)-induced colitis via excessive release of proinflammatory cytokines.In addition,bone marrow transplantation experiments revealed that OTUD1 in hematopoietic cells plays a dominant role in protection against colitis.Mechanistically,OTUD1 physically interacts with receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 1(RIPK1)and selectively cleaves K63-linked polyubiquitin chains from RIPK1 to inhibit the recruitment of NF-κB essential modulator(NEMO).Moreover,the expression of OTUD1 in mucosa samples from ulcerative colitis(UC)patients was lower than that in mucosa samples from healthy controls.Furthermore,we demonstrate that the UC-associated OTUD1 G430V mutation abolishes the ability of OTUD1 to inhibit RIPK1-mediated NF-κB activation and intestinal inflammation.Taken together,our study unveils a previously unexplored role of OTUD1 in moderating intestinal inflammation by inhibiting RIPK1-mediated NF-κB activation,suggesting that the OTUD1-RIPK1 axis could be a potential target for the treatment of IBD. | Bo Wu Lihua Qiang Yong Zhang Yesheng Fu Mengyuan Zhao Zehui Lei Zhe Lu Yan-Ge Wei Hongmiao Dai Yingwei Ge Mingqiu Liu Xuemei Zhou Zhiqiang Peng Hongchang Li Chun-Ping Cui Jing Wang Hui Zheng Cui Hua Liu Lingqiang Zhang | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,2: | 3 |

| 14 | Developments of crawler steering gearbox for combine harvester straight forward and steering in situ显示文摘Soil compaction and accumulation are caused by crawler steering.Soil characteristics would affect the ability of crawler straight forward and steering in situ.This paper studied the principle of straight forward steering and steering in situ mode of traditional unilateral brake steering gearbox of a crawler combine harvester.Then a positive and negative steering gearbox model was developed and processed.The performance of positive and negative steering gearbox was analyzed by performing two steering modes on soil compaction effect.Results showed that the positive and negative steering gearboxes can achieve three operating modes,such as straight forward,unilateral brake steering,and positive and negative steering in situ.The positive and negative steering in situ was smooth and without soil accumulation phenomenon.When the crawlers center distance,crawler grounding length,crawler width were 1150 mm,1620 mm and 450 mm respectively,the rolling area and the scratch free area of positive and negative steering gearbox were 5.37 m2 and 0.36 m2 respectively.However,the rolling area and the scratch free area produced by unilateral brake steering gearbox were 13.92 m2 and 1.88 m2 respectively,which was 8.55 m2 larger than that of positive and negative steering gearbox.The crawler with positive and negative steering gearbox has minor damage to paddy soil.This research can provide a theoretical basis for the smooth steering in situ and structural optimization of the crawler steering gearbox. | Zhong Tang Haotian Zhang Hongchang Li Yaoming Li Zhao Ding Jinsong Chen | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,1: | 1 |

| 16 | Hydrolysis hydrogen production mechanism of Mg10Ni10Ce alloy surface modified by SnO_(2) nanotubes in different aqueous systems显示文摘(Mg-10wt%Ni)-10wt%Ce(Mg10Ni10Ce)was ball-milled with SnO_(2)nanotubes and Mg10Ni10Ce-xSnO_(2)(x¼0,5,10 and 15 wt%)composites have been prepared.The phase compositions,microstructures,morphologies and hydrolysis H2 generation performance in different aqueous systems(distilled water,tap water and simulated seawater)have been investigated and the corresponding hydrolysis mechanism of Mg10Ni10Ce and Mg10Ni10CeeSnO_(2)has been proposed.Adding a small amount of SnO_(2)nanotubes can significantly enhance the hydrolysis reaction of Mg10Ni10Ce,especially the initial hydrolysis kinetics and the final H_(2) generation yield.Unfortunately,the Mg10Ni10Ce-xSnO_(2)hardly reacts with distilled water at room temperature.The hydrolysis reaction rate of Mg10Ni10Cee5SnO_(2)composite in tap water is still very slow with only 17.3%generation yield after 1 h at 303 K.Fortunately,in simulated seawater(3.5 wt%NaCl solution),the hydrolytic H2 generation behavior of the Mg10Ni10Cee5SnO_(2)composite has been greatly improved,which can release as high as 468.6 mL g^(-1 )H_(2) with about 60.9%generation yield within 30 s at 303 K.The Cl destroys the passivation layer on MgeNieCe alloy surface and the added SnO_(2)nanotubes accelerate the hydrolysis reaction rate and enhance the H2 generation yield.The Mg10Ni10Cee5SnO_(2)composite can rapidly generate a large amount of H2 in simulated seawater in a short time,which is expected to be applied on portable H2 generators in the future. | Xiaojiang Hou Lu Yang Kaiming Hou Hongchang Shi Lei Feng Guoquan Suo Xiaohui Ye Li Zhang Yanling Yang | 2021 | Green Energy & Environment2021,6,1: | 1 |

| 18 | Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion of Q235 Carbon Steel by Aerobic Thermoacidophilic Archaeon Metallosphaera cuprina显示文摘The effect of thermoacidophilic archaeon Metallosphaera cuprina(M.cuprina)on the corrosion of Q235 carbon steel in its culture medium was investigated in this work.In the sterile culture medium,the carbon steels showed uniform corrosion morphologies and almost no corrosion products covered the sample surface during 14 days of immersion test.In the presence of M.cuprina,some corrosion pits appeared on the surface of carbon steels in the immersion test,exhibiting typical localized corrosion morphologies.Moreover,the sample surfaces were covered by a large number of insoluble precipitates during the immersion.After 14 days,the thickness of precipitates reached approximately 50μm.The results of weight loss test and electrochemical test demonstrated that the carbon steels in the M.cuprina-inoculated culture medium had higher corrosion rate than that in the sterile culture medium.The oxygen concentration cell caused by M.cuprina biofilms resulted in localized corrosion behavior,and the ferrous oxidation ability of M.cuprina accelerated the anodic dissolution of carbon steels,thus promoting the corrosion process of carbon steels. | Hongchang Qian Shangyu Liu Wenlong Liu Pengfei Ju Dawei Zhang | 2022 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,2: | 1 |
