Group VB transition metal dichalcogenides for oxygen reduction reaction and strain-enhanced activity governed by p-orbital electrons of chalcogen显示文摘Developi ng alter native oxyge n reducti on reactio n (ORR) catalysts to replace precious Pt-based metals with abundant materials is the key challe nge of commercial application of fuel cells. Owing to their various compositi ons and tun able electronic properties, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have the great potential to realize high-efficiency catalysts for ORR. Here, various 3R-phase dichalcogenides of group VB and VIB transition metals (MX2, M = Nb, Ta, Mo, W;X = S, Se, Te) are investigated for ORR catalysts by using density functional theory calculations. The computed over-potentials of group VB TMDs are much less than those of group VIB TMDs. For group VB TMDs, a volcano-type plot of ORR catalytic activity is established on the adsorption energies of *OH, and NbS2 and TaTe2 exhibit best ORR activity with an oveepotential of 0.54 V. To achieve even better activity, strain engineering is performed to tune ORR catalytic activity, and the minimum over-potential of 0.43 V can be realized. We further dem on strate that the shift of p orbital center of surface chalcoge n elements under strain is responsible for tuning the catalytic activity of TMDs.Shuyang Zhao Ke Wang Xiaolong Zou Lin Gan Hongda Du Chengjun Xu Feiyu Kang Wenhui Duan Jia Li 2019Nano Research2019,12,4:4

Sex disparity of lung cancer risk in non-smokers:a multicenter population-based prospective study based on China National Lung Cancer Screening Program显示文摘Background: Non-smokers account for a large proportion of lung cancer patients, especially in Asia, but the attention paid to them is limited compared with smokers. In non-smokers, males display a risk for lung cancer incidence distinct from the females-even after excluding the influence of smoking;but the knowledge regarding the factors causing the difference is sparse. Based on a large multicenter prospective cancer screening cohort in China, we aimed to elucidate the interpretable sex differences caused by known factors and provide clues for primary and secondary prevention. Methods: Risk factors including demographic characteristics, lifestyle factors, family history of cancer, and baseline comorbidity were obtained from 796,283 Chinese non-smoking participants by the baseline risk assessment completed in 2013 to 2018. Cox regression analysis was performed to assess the sex difference in the risk of lung cancer, and the hazard ratios (HRs) that were adjusted for different known factors were calculated and compared to determine the proportion of excess risk and to explain the existing risk factors. Results: With a median follow-up of 4.80 years, 3351 subjects who were diagnosed with lung cancer were selected in the analysis. The lung cancer risk of males was significantly higher than that of females;the HRs in all male non-smokers were 1.29 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20-1.38) after adjusting for the age and 1.38 (95% CI: 1.28-1.50) after adjusting for all factors, which suggested that known factors could not explain the sex difference in the risk of lung cancer in non-smokers. Known factors were 7% (|1.29-1.38|/1.29) more harmful in women than in men. For adenocarcinoma, women showed excess risk higher than men, contrary to squamous cell carcinoma;after adjusting for all factors, 47% ([1.30-1.16]/[1.30-1]) and 4% ([7.02-6.75]/[7.02-1])) of the excess risk was explainable in adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The main causes of gender differences in lung cancer risk were lifestyle factors, baseline comorbidity, and family history. Conclusions: Significant gender differences in the risk of lung cancer were discovered in China non-smokers. Existing risk factors did not explain the excess lung cancer risk of all non-smoking men, and the internal causes for the excess risk still need to be explored;most known risk factors were more harmful to non-smoking women;further exploring the causes of the sex difference would help to improve the prevention and screening programs and protect the non-smoking males from lung cancers.Zheng Wu Fengwei Tan Zhuoyu Yang Fei Wang Wei Cao Chao Qin Xuesi Dong Yadi Zheng Zilin Luo Liang Zhao Yiwen Yu Yongjie Xu Jiansong Ren Jufang Shi Hongda Chen Jiang Li Wei Tang Sipeng Shen Ning Wu Wanqing Chen Ni Li Jie He 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,11:3
Engineering Broad-Spectrum Resistance to Bacterial Blight by CRISPR/Cas9-Mediated Precise Homology Directed Repair in Rice显示文摘Dear Editor,Rice(Oryza sativa)is one of the most important food crops as well as a model plant for basic research.Rice bacterial blight(BB)caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae(Xoo)is a devastating bacterial disease worldwide(Mew et al.,1993),affecting millions of hectares of rice annually, with an estimated crop loss of as high as 75%.Upon invasion of rice cells,Xoo secretes transcription activator-like effectors(TALEs)to activate the host Sugars Will Eventually be Exported Transporters(SWEET)genes to obtain nutrition for bacterial growth, because the induced SWEET transports more sugars to where the bacteria reside(Boch and Bonas,2010).Zheng Wei Mohamed Abdelrahman Ying Gao Zhiyuan Ji Rukmini Mishra Hongda Sun Yi Sui Chuanyin Wu Chunlian Wang Kaijun Zhao 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,8:3
A composite insulation structure for silicon-based planar neuroprobes显示文摘Silicon-based planar neuroprobes are composed of silicon substrate, conducting layer, and insulation layers of SiO 2 or SiN membrane. The insulation layer is very important because it affects many key parameters of neuprobes, like impedance,SNR(signal noise ratio),reliability, etc.Monolayer membrane of SiO 2 or SiN are not good choices for insulation layer, since defects and residual stress in these layers can induce bad passivation. In this paper a composite insulation structure is studied, with thermal SiO 2 as the lower insulation layer and with multilayer membrane composed of PECVD SiO 2 and SiN as the upper insulation layer. This structure not only solves the problem of residual stress but also ensures a good probe passivation. So it's a good choice for insulation layer of neuroprobes.ZHAO Hui PEI WeiHua CHEN SanYuan GUI Qiang TANG RongYu GUO Kai CHEN HongDa 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,9:2
Fabrication of iridium oxide neural electrodes at the wafer level显示文摘Electro-deposition, electrical activation, thermal oxidation, and reactive ion sputtering are the four primary methods to fabricate iridium oxide film. Among these methods, reactive ion sputtering is a commonly used method in standard micro-fabrication processes. In different sputtering conditions, the component, texture, and electrochemistry character of iridium oxide varies considerably. To fabricate the iridium oxide film compatible with the wafer-level processing of neural electrodes, the quality of iridium oxide film must be able to withstand the mechanical and chemical impact of post-processing, and simultaneously achieve good performance as a neural electrode. In this study, parameters of sputtering were researched and developed to achieve a balance between mechanical stability and good electrochemical characteristics of iridium oxide film on electrode. Iridium oxide fabricating process combined with fabrication flow of silicon electrodes, at wafer-level, is introduced to produce silicon based planar iridium oxide neural electrodes. Compared with bare gold electrodes, iridium oxide electrodes fabricated with this method exhibit particularly good electrochemical stability, low impedance of 386 kW at 1 kH z, high safe charge storage capacity of 3.2 m C/cm^2, and good impedance consistency of less than 25% fluctuation.ZHANG He PEI WeiHua ZHAO ShanShan YANG XiaoWei LIU RuiCong LIU YuanYuan WU Xian GUO DongMei GUI Qiang GUO XuHong XING Xiao WANG YiJun CHEN HongDa 2016Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,9:2

Synthesis of Pt-SnOx/TS-1@SBA-16 Composites and Their High Catalytic Performance for Propane Dehydrogenation显示文摘A novel composite material of TS-1@SBA-16 was synthesized by enwrapping TS-1 zeolite crystals with mesoporous SBA-16 silica. This composite was used as catalyst support for loading Pt-SnOx in the propane dehydr genation(PDH) reaction. Catalysts were characterized by means ofN2 adsorption-desorption, XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, UV-Vis, and Raman spectroscopy. The effect of different contents of TS-1 on PDH was investigated, and the optimal amount of TS-1 was determined to be 10%. The catalyst with TS-1 content of 10% showed the highest PDH activity and the initial conversion of propane over it can achieve 54.5%, higher than those over TS-1 or SB A-16-supported ones. The superior catalytic performance of Pt-SnOx/TS-1 @SBA-16 is related to the synergistic effect of the excellent mass transfer performance through the hierarchical porous structure, suitable acid acidity and electronic effect of Ti species.LI Hongda ZHAO Zhen LI Jiacheng LI Jianmei ZHAO Linlin SUN Jiachen FAN Xiaoqiang 2019Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2019,35,5:1
Headspace Solid-Phase Micro-Extraction Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry(HS-SPME-GC/MS)-Based Untargeted Metabolomics Analysis for Comparing the Volatile Components from 12 Panax Herbal Medicines显示文摘Quality control of ginseng currently is mainly based on ginsenoside analysis, but rarely focuses on the volatile organic components. In the current work,an untargeted metabolomics approach,by headspace solid-phase micro-extraction gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(HS-SPME-GC/MS),was elaborated and further employed to holistically compare the compositional difference of the volatile components simultaneously from 12 Panax herbal medicines, which included P.ginseng(PG),P.quinquefolius(PQ),P.notoginseng(PN),red ginseng(PGR),P.ginseng leaf(PGL),P.quinquefolius leaf(PQL),P.notoginseng leaf(PNL),P.ginseng flower(PGF),P.quinquefolius flower(PQF),P.notoginseng flower(PNF),P.japonicus(PJ),and P.japonicus var.major(PJvm).Chromatographic separation was performed on an HP-5MS elastic quartz capillary column using helium as the carrier gas, enabling good resolution within 1 h.We were able to characterize totally 259 volatile compounds, including 82 terpenes(T),46 alcohols(Alc),29 ketones(K),25 aldehydes(Ald),21 esters(E),and the others.By analyzing 90 batches of ginseng samples based on the untargeted metabolomics workflows,236 differential ions were unveiled, and accordingly 36 differential volatile components were discovered. It is the first report that simultaneously compares the compositional difference of volatile components among 12 Panax herbal medicines, and useful information is provided for the quality control of ginseng aside from the well-known ginsenosides.Simiao Wang Xiaohang Li Meiting Jiang Xinlong Wu Yuying Zhao Meiyu Liu Xiaoyan Xu Huimin Wang Hongda Wang Heshui Yu Wenzhi Yang 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,7:1
Effect of fabrication temperature on the manufacturability of lateral ZnO nanowire array UV sensor显示文摘Fabrication temperature is an important factor affecting the manufacturability of electronic devices, especially for the bottom-up self-assembled nano-device.In this study,we used a lateral-bridged zinc oxide(ZnO)nanowire array UV sensor as a model to investigate the influence of temperature on device performance over the entire manufacturing process, from sensor fabrication to packaging. We found that annealing of the SiO2 substrate would make ZnO seed layer on top of it more compact and uniform, and hence improve the lateral orientation and uniformity of ZnO nanowires grown from the seed layer. With the annealed substrate, the light-to-dark current ratio increased by two orders of magnitude. On the contrary, annealing the ZnO seed layer would deteriorate the light-to-dark current ratio of the sensor, because annealing caused most of the grains in the seed layer to become vertically aligned, which in turn affected the lateral growth of ZnO nanowire arrays.During the packaging process, the surface structure of ZnO nanowires would change if the chip welded at a temperature of 230℃for 2 min, resulting in a decrease of light-to-dark current ratio by three orders of magnitude.ZHAO LiHuan GAO ZhiYuan ZHANG Jie LU LiWei LI HongDa 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,4:1
Effect of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)in current collecting layer on the performance of zinc-air battery显示文摘Beyond reasonable designing catalysts, the optimization of preparing air cathode has far-reaching implications for the development of Zinc-air batteries. In this study, the effect of Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)in current collecting layer on the performance of Zinc-air battery was investigated. The results showed that as the polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)content and heat treatment temperature changed, the hydrophobicity and porosity of current collecting layer also changed, thereby affecting the performance of air cathode. The air cathode assembled with PTFE-3-300 possessed an excellent electrochemical performance, which was prepared by brushing PTFE and acetylene black(wherein the mass ratio of them is 18:5)on current collecting layer and then heating at 300℃.The obtained air cathode displayed relatively small polarization loss and excellent rate performance, showing a polarization potential of -0.405 V vs.Hg/Hg O at 100 mA cm^(-2) and the voltage retention of 94.47% from 5 to 20 mA cm^(-2).Besides,the air cathode displayed excellent discharge stability maintaining average potential 1.3249 V for 100 h.Based on this work,a detailed understanding of the relationship of PTFE and current collecting layer can be achieved to improve the electrode design, architecture and fabrication.Bing Liu Yunkun Dai Lin Li Hongda Zhang Lei Zhao Fanrong Kong Xulei Sui Zhenbo Wang 2020Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2020,30,6:0
Mechanistic Insights into Membrane Protein Clustering Revealed by Visualizing EGFR Secretion显示文摘Most plasmalemmal proteins are organized into clusters to modulate various cellular functions. However, the machineries that regulate protein clustering remain largely unclear. Here, with EGFR as an example,we directly and in detail visualized the entire process of EGFR from synthesis to secretion onto the plasma membrane(PM)using a high-speed,high-resolution spinning-disk confocal microscope.First, colocalization imaging revealed that EGFR secretory vesicles underwent transport from the ER to the Golgi to the PM,eventually forming different distribution forms on the apical and basal membranes;that is,most EGFR formed larger clusters on the apical membrane than the basal membrane.A dynamic tracking image and further siRNA interference experiment confirmed that fusion of secretory vesicles with the plasma membrane led to EGFR clusters, and we showed that EGFR PM clustering may be intimately related to EGFR signaling and cell proliferation. Finally,we found that the size and origin of the secretory vesicles themselves may determine the difference in the distribution patterns of EGFR on the PM.More importantly,we showed that actin influenced the EGFR distribution by controlling the fusion of secretory vesicles with the PM.Collectively,a comprehensive understanding of the EGFR secretion process helps us to unravel the EGFR clustering process and elucidate the key factors determining the differences in the spatial distribution of EGFR PM,highlighting the correlation between EGFR secretion and its PM distribution pattern.Haijiao Xu Jinrui Zhang Yijia Zhou Guanfang Zhao Mingjun Cai Jing Gao Lina Shao Yan Shi Hongru Li Hongbin Ji Yikai Zhao Hongda Wang 2023Research2023,,1:0
Fabrication of strongly adherent platinum black coatings on microelectrodes array显示文摘Platinum black coating can effectively improve the performance of MEAs(microelectrodes array)in neural signal transduction, though its lack of adhesion strength and durability tampers its usage in long term experiments. Here a new method of composite electrodeposition provides highly adhesive platinum black coating that enables MEAs for a month’s long task and repeatable utilization. The new method was compared with present techniques on multiple aspects,e.g.actual surface area, surface morphology, interfacial impedance, durability and real application tests. Results show that the new composite coating provides greatly improved durability without compromising its performances.Neural cells were cultured on these MEAs for 40 days in vitro and spontaneous action potentials with high signal/noise ratio were recorded.Theoretical model and simulation provided preliminary understanding on the mechanism of this strengthened platinum black coating.TANG RongYu PEI WeiHua CHEN SanYuan ZHAO Hui CHEN YuanFang HAN Yao WANG ChunLan CHEN HongDa 2014Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,4:0

An Algorithm for Target Detection of Engineering Vehicles Based on Improved CenterNet显示文摘Aiming at the problems of low target image resolution, insufficient target feature extraction, low detection accuracy and poor real time in remote engineering vehicle detection,an improved CenterNet target detection model is proposed in this paper.Firstly,EfficientNet-B0 with Efficient Channel Attention(ECA)module is used as the basic network, which increases the quality and speed of feature extraction and reduces the number of model parameters. Then, the proposed Adaptive Fusion Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network(AF-BiFPN)module is applied to fuse the features of different feature layers.Furthermore, the feature information of engineering vehicle targets is added by making full use of the high-level semantic and low-level fine-grained feature information of the target, which overcomes the problem that the original CenterNet network did not perform well in small target detection and improve the detection accuracy of the network. Finally, the tag coding strategy and bounding box regression method of CenterNet are optimized by introducing positioning quality loss. The accuracy of target prediction is increased by joint prediction of center position and target size.Experimental results show that the mean Average Precision(mAP)of the improved CenterNet model is 94.74%on the engineering vehicle dataset, and the detection rate is 29 FPS.Compared with the original CenterNet model based on ResNet-18,the detection accuracy of this model is improved by 16.29%,the detection speed is increased by 9 FPS,and the memory usage is reduced by 43 MB.Compared with YOLOv3 and YOLOv4,the mAP of this model is improved by 19.9%and 5.61%respectively.The proposed method can detect engineering vehicles more quickly and accurately in far distance. It has obvious advantages in target detection compared with traditional methods.Pingping Yu Hongda Wang Xiaodong Zhao Guangchen Ruan 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,11:0
Cell membrane sample preparation method of combined AFM and dSTORM analysis显示文摘A major role of cell membranes is to provide an ideal environment for the constituent proteins to perform their biological functions.A deep understanding of the membrane proteins assembly process under physiological conditions is quite important to elucidate both the structure and the function of the cell membranes.Along these lines,in this work,a complete workflow of the cell membrane sample preparation and the correlated AFM and dSTORM imaging analysis methods are presented.A specially designed,angle-controlled sample preparation device was used to prepare the cell membrane samples. The correlated distributions of the specific membrane proteins with the topography of the cytoplasmic side of the cell membranes can be obtained by performing correlative AFM and dSTORM measurements. These methods are ideal for systematically studying the structure of the cell membranes. The proposed method of the sample characterization was not only limited to the measurement of the cell membrane but also can be applied for both biological tissue section analysis and detection.Mingjun Cai Huili Wang Guanfang Zhao Hongru Li Jing Gao Hongda Wang 2022Biophysics Reports2022,8,4:0
