Whole genome sequencing of 10K patients with acute ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack: design, methods and baseline patient characteristics显示文摘Background and purpose Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide and the leading cause of mortality and long-term disability in China, but its underlying risk genes and pathways are far from being comprehensively understood. We here describe the design and methods of whole genome sequencing(WGS)for 10914 patients with acute ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack from the Third China National Stroke Registry(CNSR-III).Methods Baseline clinical characteristics of the included patients in this study were reported.DNA was extracted from white blood cells of participants.Libraries are constructed using qualified DNA,and WGS is conducted on BGISEQ-500 platform. The average depth is intended to be greater than 30×for each subject.Afterwards,Sentieon software is applied to process the sequencing data under the Genome Analysis Toolkit best practice guidance to call genotypes of single nucleotide variants(SNVs)and insertion-deletions.For each included subject,21 fingerprint SNVs are genotyped by MassARRAY assays to verify that DNA sample and sequencing data originate from the same individual. The copy number variations and structural variations are also called for each patient. All of the genetic variants are annotated and predicted by bioinformatics software or by reviewing public databases. Results The average age of the included 10914 patients was 62.2±11.3 years, and 31.4%patients were women. Most of the baseline clinical characteristics of the 10914 and the excluded patients were balanced. Conclusions The WGS data together with abundant clinical and imaging data of CNSR-III could provide opportunity to elucidate the molecular mechanisms and discover novel therapeutic targets for stroke. | Si Cheng Zhe Xu Yang Liu Jinxi Lin Yong Jiang Yilong Wang Xia Meng Anxin Wang Xinying Huang Zhimin Wang Guohua Chen Songdi Wu Zhengchang Jia Yongming Chen Xuerong Qiu Jun Wu Binbin Song Weizhong Ji Zhongping An Wenjun Xue Lili Zhao Yu Geng Hongyan Li Hao Li Yongjun Wang | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,2: | 8
Numerical simulation of excess-enthalpy combustion flame propagation of coal mine methane in ceramic foam显示文摘Based on the assumption of a local non-equilibrium of heat transfer between a solid matrix and gas,a mathematic model of coal mine methane combustion in a porous medium was established,as well the solid-gas boundary conditions. We simulated numerically the flame propagation characteristics. The results show that the flame velocity in ceramic foam is higher than that of free laminar flows;the maximum flame velocity depends on the combined effects of a radiation extinction coefficient and convection heat transfer in ceramic foam and rises with an increase in the chemical equivalent ratio. The radiation extinction coefficient cannot be used alone to determine the heat regeneration effects in the design of ceramic foam burners. | SONG, Zhengchang LIN, Boquan | 2010 | Mining Science and Technology2010,20,2: | 2

Chiral detection of biomolecules based on reinforcement learning显示文摘Chirality plays an important role in biological processes, and enantiomers often possess similar physical properties and different physiologic functions. In recent years, chiral detection of enantiomers become a popular topic.Plasmonic metasurfaces enhance weak inherent chiral effects of biomolecules,so they are used in chiral detection.Artificial intelligence algorithm makes a lot of contribution to many aspects of nanophotonics. Here,we propose a nanostructure design method based on reinforcement learning and devise chiral nanostructures to distinguish enantiomers. The algorithm finds out the metallic nanostructures with a sharp peak in circular dichroism spectra and emphasizes the frequency shifts caused by nearfield interaction of nanostructures and biomolecules. Our work inspires universal and efficient machine-learning methods for nanophotonic design. | Yuxiang Chen Fengyu Zhang Zhibo Dang Xiao He Chunxiong Luo Zhengchang Liu Pu Peng Yuchen Dai Yijing Huang Yu Li Zheyu Fang | 2023 | Opto-Electronic Science2023,2,1: | 1

Reflective feature location: knowledge in mind meets information in system显示文摘Locating code entities relevant to a feature(i.e., feature location) is an important task in software maintenance. Feature location is challenging due to the information gap between the developer's knowledge about a feature and the feature's implementation in the system. In this paper, we present a reflective feature location approach Re FLex to bridge this gap. Re FLex automatically computes a reflexion model between the developer's logical view of a feature and the feature's implemented view reverse-engineered from the code. It provides interactive reflection support for the developer to refine the logical view and the feature location results such that the logical view and the implemented view converge gradually in an iterative feature location process. We have implemented our approach as an Eclipse plugin and investigated the benefits and challenges in reflective feature location through a user study. | Xin PENG Zhengchang XING Sen PAN Wenyi QIAN Václav RAJLICH Wenyun ZHAO | 2017 | Science China(Information Sciences)2017,60,7: | 1

Latest advances and progress in the microbubble flotation of fine minerals:Microbubble preparation, equipment, and applications显示文摘In the past few decades, microbubble flotation has been widely studied in the separation and beneficiation of fine minerals.Compared with conventional flotation, microbubble flotation has obvious advantages, such as high grade and recovery and low consumption of flotation reagents. This work systematically reviews the latest advances and research progress in the flotation of fine mineral particles by microbubbles. In general, microbubbles have small bubble size, large specific surface area, high surface energy, and good selectivity and can also easily be attached to the surface of hydrophobic particles or large bubbles, greatly reducing the detaching probability of particles from bubbles.Microbubbles can be prepared by pressurized aeration and dissolved air, electrolysis, ultrasonic cavitation, photocatalysis, solvent exchange, temperature difference method(TDM),and Venturi tube and membrane method.Correspondingly, equipment for fine-particle flotation is categorized as microbubble release flotation machine, centrifugal flotation column, packed flotation column, and magnetic flotation machine. In practice, microbubble flotation has been widely studied in the beneficiation of ultrafine coals, metallic minerals, and nonmetallic minerals and exhibited superiority over conventional flotation machines.Mechanisms underpinning the promotion of fine-particle flotation by nanobubbles include the agglomeration of fine particles, high stability of nanobubbles in aqueous solutions, and enhancement of particle hydrophobicity and flotation dynamics. | Ziyong Chang Sensen Niu Zhengchang Shen Laichang Zou Huajun Wang | 2023 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,7: | 0
Self-design of arbitrary polarization-control waveplates via deep neural networks显示文摘The manipulation of polarization states beyond the optical limit presents advantages in various applications.Considerable progress has been made in the design of meta-waveplates for on-demand polarization transformation, realized by numerical simulations and parameter sweep methodologies. However, due to the limited freedom in these classical strategies, particular challenges arise from the emerging requirement for multiplex optical devices and multidimensional manipulation of light, which urge for a large number of different nanostructures with great polarization control capability. Here,we demonstrate a set of self-designed arbitrary wave plates with a high polarization conversion efficiency. We combine Bayesian optimization and deep neural networks to design perfect halfand quarter-waveplates based on metallic nanostructures, which experimentally demonstrate excellent polarization control functionalities with the conversion ratios of 85%and 90%.More broadly,we develop a comprehensive wave plate database consisting of various metallic nanostructures with high polarization conversion efficiency, accompanying a flexible tuning of phase shifts(0-2π)and group delays(0-10 fs),and construct an achromatic metalens based on this database.Owing to the versatility and excellent performance, our self-designed wave plates can promote the performance of multiplexed broadband metasurfaces and find potential applications in compact optical devices and polarization division multiplexing optical communications. | ZHENGCHANG LIU ZHIBO DANG ZHIXIN LIU YU LI XIAO HE YUCHEN DAI YUXIANG CHEN PU PENG ZHEYU FANG | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,5: | 0
