| 1 | Leachate treatment using a demonstration aged refuse biofilter显示文摘Approximately 7000 m3 of aged refuse(AR) with a placement of over eight years was excavated from Shanghai Refuse Landfill,the largest landfill in China,and used for the construction of a two-stage bioreactor(AR biofilter) media for the biological treatment of 100 m3 of refuse landfill leachate.It was found that over 64% of COD,96.9%-99.8% of NH4+-N,and 95.8%-99.8% of BOD5 could be removed by the AR biofilter,when the leachate with initial COD,BOD5,and NH4+-N concentrations were 986-4128 mg/L,264-959 mg/L,and 538-1583 mg/L,respectively.The corresponding concentrations in the effluent were reduced to below 300-400 mg/L,2-12 mg/L,and 10-20 mg/L,respectively.The effluent was clear and pale yellow with suspended solid below 150 mg/L and color below 150 Pt/Co degree.Meanwhile,the total nitrogen removal was only 49%-63%,indicating a relative poor denitrification capacity of AR biofilter.The effluent pH was neutral and the population of Escherichia coli was less than 10-1 CFU/mL.Hence,it was considered that the demonstration project can work well for the effective treatment of leachate. | Hongjiang Li Yingying Gu Youcai Zhao Zhiping Wen | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,7: | 6 |
| 2 | Osteogenic and antibacterial dual functions of a novel levofloxacin loaded mesoporous silica microspheres/nano-hydroxyapatite/ polyurethane composite scaffold显示文摘Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU has been proved to be a novel scaffold material to treat bone defect caused by chronic osteomyelitis.We have previously identified that this material can effectively treat chronic osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus in vivo.However,the potential mechanisms of antibacterial and osteogenic induction properties remain unclear.Thus,for osteogenesis property,immunohistochemistry,PCR,and Western blot were performed to detect the expression of osteogenic markers.Furthermore,flow cytometry and TUNEL were applied to analyze MC3T3-E1 proliferation and apoptosis.For antibacterial property,the material was co-cultivated with bacteria,bacterial colony forming units was counted and the release time of the effective levofloxacin was assayed by agar disc-diffusion test.Moreover,scanning electron microscope was applied to observe adhesion of bacteria.In terms of osteogenic induction,we found BMSCs adherently grew more prominently on Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU.Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU also enhanced the expression of osteogenic markers including OCN and COL1a1,as well as effectively promoted the transition from G1 phase to G2 phase.Furthermore,Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU could reduce apoptosis of MC3T3-E1.Besides,both Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU and n-HA/PU materials could inhibit bacterial colonies,while Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU possessed a stronger antibacterial activities,and lower bacterial adhesion than n-HA/PU.These results illustrated that Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU composite scaffold possess favorable compatibility in vitro,which induce osteogenic differentiation of MSCs,promote proliferation and differentiation of MC3T3-E1,and inhibit apoptosis.Moreover,clear in vitro antibacterial effect of Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU was also observed.In summary,this study replenishes the potential of Lev/MSNs/n-HA/PU composite scaffold possess dual functions of anti-infection and enhanced osteogenesis for future clinical application. | Zhiping Kuang Guangming Dai Ruijie Wan Dongli Zhang Chen Zhao Cheng Chen Jidong Li Hongchen Gu Wei Huang | 2021 | Genes & Diseases2021,8,2: | 4 |

The pilot test results showed that the percentage extractions are more than 99% for platinum and palladium in Pt-Pd feed, and the percentage strippings are 100% and 99.2% with HCl and ammonia, respectively. The ratio of palladium to platinum is 0.0016 in stripping platinum solution, and the ratio of platinum to palladium is 0.0020 in strip- ping palladium solution. The percentage extraction of platinum is 99% in Pt-Rh feed, and the percentage stripping is 100%. The ratio of rhodium to platinum is 0.0002 in stripping platinum solution. | 5 | New Algorithm Rules Out Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure Development within 28 Days from Acute Decompensation of Cirrhosis显示文摘Background and Aims:Approximately 10%of patients with acute decompensated(AD)cirrhosis develop acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)within 28 days.Such cases have high mortality and are difficult to predict.Therefore,we aimed to establish and validate an algorithm to identify these patients on hospitalization.Methods:Hospitalized patients with AD who developed ACLF within 28 days were considered pre-ACLF.Organ dysfunction was defined accord-ing to the chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure as-sessment(CLIF-SOFA)criteria,and proven bacterial infec-tion was taken to indicate immune system dysfunction.A retrospective multicenter cohort and prospective one were used to derive and to validate the potential algorithm,re-spectively.A miss rate of<5%was acceptable for the calcu-lating algorithm to rule out pre-ACLF.Results:In the deri-vation cohort(n=673),46 patients developed ACLF within 28 days.Serum total bilirubin,creatinine,international normalized ratio,and present proven bacterial infection at admission were associated with the development of ACLF.AD patients with≥2 organ dysfunctions had a higher risk for pre-ACLF patients[odds ratio=16.58195%confidence interval:(4.271-64.363),p<0.001].In the derivation co-hort,67.5%of patients(454/673)had≤1 organ dysfunction and two patients(0.4%)were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 4.3%(missed/total,2/46).In the validation cohort,65.9%of patients(914/1388)had≤1 organ dysfunction,and four(0.3%)of them were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 3.4%(missed/total,4/117).Conclusions:AD patients with≤1 organ dysfunction had a significantly lower risk of developing ACLF within 28 days of admission and could be safely ruled out with a pre-ACLF miss rate of<5%. | Xiaoting Tang Hai Li Guohong Deng Xin Zheng Xianbo Wang Yan Huang Yanhang Gao Zhongji Meng Zhiping Qian Feng Liu Xiaobo Lu Yu Shi Beiling Li Wenyi Gu Xiaomei Xiang Yan Xiong Yixin Hou Jun Chen Na Gao Sen Luo Liujuan Ji Jing Li Rongjiong Zheng Haotang Ren Jinjun Chen | 2023 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3: | 1 |

| 19 | A cell transcriptomic profile p ovides insights into adipocytes of porcine mammary gland across development显示文摘Background Studying the composition and developmental mechanisms in mammary gland is crucial for healthy growth of newborns. The mammary gland is inherently heterogeneous, and its physiological function dependents on the gene expression of multiple cell types. Most studies focused on epithelial cells, disregarding the role of neighboring adipocytes.Results Here, we constructed the largest transcriptomic dataset of porcine mammary gland cells thus far. The dataset captured 126,829 high-quality nuclei from physiological mammary glands across five developmental stages(d 90 of gestation, G90;d 0 after lactation, L0;d 20 after lactation, L20;2 d post natural involution, PI2;7 d post natural involution, PI7). Seven cell types were identified, including epithelial cells, adipocytes, endothelial cells, fibroblasts cells, immune cells, myoepithelial cells and precursor cells. Our data indicate that mammary glands at different developmental stages have distinct phenotypic and transcriptional signatures. During late gestation(G90), the differentiation and proliferation of adipocytes were inhibited. Meanwhile, partly epithelial cells were completely differentiated. Pseudo-time analysis showed that epithelial cells undergo three stages to achieve lactation, including cellular differentiation, hormone sensing, and metabolic activation. During lactation(L0 and L20), adipocytes area accounts for less than 0.5% of mammary glands. To maintain their own survival, the adipocyte exhibited a poorly differentiated state and a proliferative capacity. Epithelial cells initiate lactation upon hormonal stimulation. After fulfilling lactation mission, their undergo physiological death under high intensity lactation. Interestingly, the physiological dead cells seem to be actively cleared by immune cells via CCL21-ACKR4 pathway. This biological process may be an important mechanism for maintaining homeostasis of the mammary gland. During natural involution(PI2 and PI7), epithelial cell populations dedifferentiate into mesenchymal stem cells to maintain the lactation potential of mammary glands for the next lactation cycle.Conclusion The molecular mechanisms of dedifferentiation, proliferation and redifferentiation of adipocytes and epithelial cells were revealed from late pregnancy to natural involution. | 20 | A Direct Toolpath Constructive Design Method for Controllable Porous Structure Configuration with a TSP-based Sequence Planning Determination显示文摘The inherent capabilities of additive manufacturing(AM)to fabricate porous lattice structures with controllable structural and functional properties have raised interest in the design methods for the production of extremely in-tricate internal geometries.Current popular methods of porous lattice structure design still follow the traditional flow,which mainly consists of computer-aided design(CAD)model construction,STereoLithography(STL)model conversion,slicing model acquisition,and toolpath configuration,which causes a loss of accuracy and manufac-turability uncertainty in AM preparation stages.Moreover,toolpath configuration relies on a knowledge-based approach summarized by expert systems.In this process,geometrical construction information is always ignored when a CAD model is created or constructed.To fully use this geometrical information,avoid accuracy loss and ensure qualified manufacturability of porous lattice structures,this paper proposes a novel toolpath-based con-structive design method to directly generate toolpath printing file of parametric and controllable porous lattice structures to facilitate model data exchange during the AM preparation stages.To optimize the laser jumping route between lattice cells,we use a hybrid travelling salesman problem(TSP)solver to determine the laser jumping points on contour scans.Four kinds of laser jumping orders are calculated and compared to select a minimal laser jumping route for sequence planning inside lattice cells.Hence,the proposed method can achieve high-precision lattice printing and avoid computational consumption in model conversion stages from a geomet-rical view.The optical metallographic images show that the shape accuracy of lattice patterns can be guaranteed.The existence of“grain boundaries”brought about by the multi-contour scanning strategy may lead to different mechanical properties. | Zhiping Wang Yicha Zhang Donghua Dai Dongdong Gu Chaoyue Chen Di Wang Alain Bernard | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering(Additive Manufacturing Frontiers)2023,2,1: | 0 |
