1Effects of Forest Type and Urbanization on Carbon Storage of Urban Forests in Changchun, Northeast China显示文摘Rapid urbanization has led to dramatic changes in urban forest structures and functions, and consequently affects carbon(C) storage in cities. In this study, field surveys were combined with high resolution images to investigate the variability of C storage of urban forests in Changchun, Northeast China. The main objectives of this study were to quantify the C storage of urban forests in Changchun City, Northeast China and understand the effects of forest type and urbanization on C storage of urban forests. The results showed that the mean C density and the total C storage of urban forests in Changchun were 4.41 kg/m2 and 4.74 × 108 kg, respectively. There were significant differences in C density among urban forest types. Landscape and relaxation forest(LF) had the highest C density with 5.41 kg/m2, while production and management forest(PF) had the lowest C density with 1.46 kg/m2. These differences demonstrate that urban forest type is an important factor needed to be considered when the C storage is accurately estimated. Further findings revealed significant differences in different gradients of urbanization, and the mean C density decreased from the first ring(6.99 kg/m2) to the fourth ring(2.87 kg/m2). The total C storage increased from the first ring to the third ring. These results indicate that C storage by urban forests will be significantly changed during the process of urbanization. 2Molecular Cytogenetic Characterization and Stem Rust Resistance of Five Wheat-Thinopyrum ponticum Partial Amphiploids显示文摘Partial amphiploids created by crossing common wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) and Thinopyrum ponticum(Podp.) Barkworth & D.R.Dewey are important intermediates in wheat breeding because of their resistance to major wheat diseases.In this study,we examined the chromosome compositions of five Xiaoyan-series wheat-Th.ponticum partial amphiploids(Xiaoyan 68.Xiaoyan 693,Xiaoyan 784,Xiaoyan 7430,and Xiaoyan 7631) using GISH,multicolor-GISH.and multicolor-FISH.We found several chromosome changes in these lines.For example,wheat chromosomes 1B and 2B were added in Xiaoyan 68 and Xiaoyan 7430,respectively,while wheat chromosome6 B was eliminated from Xiaoyan 693 and Xiaoyan 7631.Chromosome rearrangements were also detected in these amphiploids.including an interspecific translocation involving chromosome 4D and some inlergenomic translocations,such as A-B and A-D translocations,among wheat genomes.Analysis of the Th.ponticum chromosomes in the amphiploids showed that some lines shared the same alien chromosomes.We also evaluated these partial amphiploids for resistance to nine races of stem rust,including TTKSK(commonly known as Ug99).Three lines,Xiaoyan 68,Xiaoyan 784,and Xiaoyan 7430,exhibited excellent resistance to ail nine races,and could therefore be valuable sources of stem rust resistance in wheat breeding.Qi Zheng Zhenling Lv Zhixia Niu Bin Li Hongwei Li Steven S.Xu Fangpu Han Zhensheng Li 2014Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,11:9
3Effects of Urbanization,Soil Property and Vegetation Configuration on Soil Infiltration of Urban Forest in Changchun,Northeast China显示文摘Urban forest soil infiltration, affected by various factors, is closely related with surface runoff. This paper studied the effect of urban forest types, vegetation configuration and soil properties on soil infiltration. In our study, 191 typical plots were sampled in Changchun City, China to investigate the soil infiltration characteristics of urban forest and its influencing factors. Our results showed that the steady infiltration rates of urban forest soil were highly variable. High variations in the final infiltration rates were observed for different vegetation patterns and compaction degrees. Trees with shrubs and grasses had the highest infiltration rate and trees with bare land had the lowest infiltration rate. In addition, our results showed that the soil infiltration rate decreased with an increase in the bulk density and with a reduction in the soil organic matter content and non-capillary porosity. The soil infiltration rate also had significantly positive relationships with the total porosity and saturated soil water content. Urban soil compaction contributed to low soil infiltration rates. To increase the infiltration rate and water storage volume of urban forest soil, proper techniques to minimize and mitigate soil compaction should be used. 5Mn,N co-doped Co nanoparticles/porous carbon as air cathode for highly efficient rechargeable Zn-air batteries Hide Author's Information显示文摘Oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)are generally catalyzed by precious metals(Pt)and metal oxides(IrO_(2))which still have many shortages including expensive price,poor selectivity and undesirable stability.In this work,we report a Mn0-doped CoN_(x) on N-doped porous carbon(Mn-CoN_(x)/N-PC)composite from carbonizing metal-organic framework(MOF)derivative as the dual-functional catalyst to boost both the ORR and OER performances.Owing to the strong coordination effect between nitrogen and metal elements,the introduction of N can obviously improve the content of Co-N-C active sites for ORR.Meanwhile,the Mn-doping significantly regulates the electronic structure of the Co element and increases the content of Co^(0) which provide efficient OER active sites.Mn-CoN_(x)/N-PC catalyst delivers super dual-functional activity with a half-wave potential of 0.85 V,better than the 20%Pt/C catalyst(0.82 V).When used in Zn-air batteries for testing,Mn-CoN_(x)/N-PC electrocatalyst shows a high power density(145 mW·cm^(−2))and good cycle performance.Hanzhen Zheng Fei Ma Hongcen Yang Xiaogang Wu Rui Wang Dali Jia Zhixia Wang Niandi Lu Fen Ran Shanglong Peng 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:2

9Deep Convective Clouds over the Northern Pacific and Their Relationship with Oceanic Cyclones显示文摘Based on combined Cloud Sat/CALIPSO detections, the seasonal occurrence of deep convective clouds(DCCs) over the midlatitude North Pacific(NP) and cyclonic activity in winter were compared. In winter, DCCs are more frequent over the central NP, from approximately 30°N to 45°N, than over other regions. The high frequencies are roughly equal to those occurring in this region in summer. Most of these DCCs have cloud tops above a 12 km altitude, and the highest top is approximately 15 km. These wintertime marine DCCs commonly occur during surface circulation conditions of low pressure, high temperature, strong meridional wind, and high relative humidity. Further, the maximum probability of DCCs,according to the high correlation coefficient, was found in the region 10°–20° east and 5°–10° south of the center of the cyclones. The potential relationship between DCCs and cyclones regarding their relative locations and circulation conditions was also identified by a case study. Deep clouds were generated in the warm conveyor belt by strong updrafts from baroclinic flows. The updrafts intensified when latent heat was released during the adjustment of the cyclone circulation current. 10Edible mushrooms as a potent therapeutics of subclinical thyroid dysfunction among adults,especially in obese individuals:a prospective cohort study显示文摘Background:Mushrooms are a good source of many nutrients which are potentially beneficial for chronic diseases.We speculated that due to its abundant nutrients edible mushrooms might have a beneficial effect on the prevention of subclinical thyroid dysfunction(SCTD).Therefore,we designed a large-scale cohort study to examine whether mushrooms consumption is a protective factor for SCTD in adults.Methods:This prospective cohort study investigated 6631 participants(mean age:(45.0±10.2)years;55.1%men).Edible mushrooms consumption was measured at baseline using a validated food frequency questionnaire.SCTD was defined as abnormal serum thyroid-stimulating hormone levels and normal free thyroxine.Cox proportional hazards regression models were used to examine the association of edible mushrooms consumption with incident SCTD.Results:During follow-up period,a total of 262 new cases of SCTD were identified,the incidence rate of subclinical hypothyroidism was 8.9/1000 person-years and subclinical hyperthyroidism was 7.2/1000 person-years.After adjusting potential confounding factors,the multivariable hazard ratios(95%confidence intervals)for subclinical hypothyroidism were 1.00(reference)for almost never,0.53(0.29,0.97)for 1-3 times/week and 0.30(0.10,0.87)for≥4 times/week(P for trend=0.02).It also showed edible mushrooms consumption was inversely associated with subclinical hypothyroidism in obese individuals but not non-obese individuals,the final hazard ratios(95%confidence intervals)were 0.14(0.03,0.73)(P for trend<0.01).Conclusions:This population-based prospective cohort study has firstly demonstrated that higher edible mushrooms consumption was significantly associated with lower incidence of subclinical hypothyroidism among general adult population,especially in obese individuals.Juanjuan Zhang Sabina Rayamajhi Amrish Thapa Ge Meng Qing Zhang Li Liu Hongmei Wu Yeqing Gu Shunming Zhang Tingjing Zhang Xuena Wang Zhixia Cao Jun Dong Xiaoxi Zheng Xu Zhang Xinrong Dong Xing Wang Shaomei Sun Ming Zhou Qiyu Jia Kun Song Kaijun Niu 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,1:0
11Primary Solidification Phase and Lamellar Orientation in Directionally Solidified Ti-45Al-7Nb Alloy显示文摘Primary solidification phase and lamellar orientation are investigated in Ti-45Al-7Nb alloy at very high ratio of temperature gradient to growth rate (G/v) by a liquid-metal-cooled directionally solidified method. It shows that Ti-45Al-7Nb alloy solidifies with primary α phase. Longitudinal (parallel to growth direction) microstructure shows that α dendrites in solid-liquid mushy zone are discontinuous and transverse microstructure of α dendrites is worm-like feature. Growth direction of α phase is about 80° away from〈0001〉α direction, and close to〈1120〉α direction. The corresponding lamellar orientation is aligned at the angle of about 10° to growth direction, which is consistent with α-dendrite growth direction according to Blackburn orientation relationship.
