Randomized controlled multicenter clinical trial for integrated treatment of community-acquired pneumonia based on Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome differentiation显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment based on syndrome differentiation ofTraditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) for community-acquired pneumonia(CAP).METHODS:A total of 240 CAP patients were randomly divided into the following two groups:thecontrol group was treated by anti-infection plus conventional medicine treatment;and the trial group was treated by TCM plus the above-mentioned treatment given to the controls. The course of treatment was 14 days, and the patients were followed up for 7 days.RESULTS:Of the 240 patients,235 accomplished the whole process of treatment. The five patients who withdrew from the study were brought into an intent-to-treat analysis. The therapeutic effects of the trial group were superior to those of the control group(P<0.01).The trial group took less time to become clinically stable, with a higher score in the quality of life(P<0.01).There were no significant differences in mortality rate(P>0.05),white blood cell count(P>0.05),bacterial clearance rate(P>0.05),and adverse reactions between the two integrated groups.CONCLUSION:Treatment based on TCM syndrome differentiation for CAP has the advantages of resulting in less time to achieve a stable clinical condition, improvement of clinical symptoms and quality of life, and is comparatively safe. | Jiansheng Li Xueqing Yu Suyun Li Haifeng Wang Yunping Bai Minghang Wang Zikai Sun Wei Zhang Zhaoshan Zhou Xianhua Jia Qingwei Zhou | 2012 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4: | 11
Characteristics of fecal microbiota in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients显示文摘This study was designed to investigate the gut microbiota of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The inclusive and exclusive criteria for NAFLD patients and healthy subjects were formulated, and detailed clinical data were collected. The genomic DNA of stool samples were extracted for 16 S r DNA sequencing, and the amplified V4-region was sequenced on the Illumina Miseq platform. Metastats analysis was performed to identify the differential taxa between the groups. Redundancy analysis was used to evaluate the association between gut microbial structure and clinical variables. Thirty NAFLD patients and37 healthy controls were involved. The 16 S r DNA sequencing showed that there was a dramatic variability of the fecal microbiota among all the individuals. Metastats analysis identified eight families and 12 genera with significant differences between the two groups. When some clinical parameters, such as waist-to-hip ratio(WHR) and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR), were enrolled in Redundancy analysis, the distribution of the two group of samples was obviously changed. The compositional shifts in fecal bacterial communities of NAFLD patients from the healthy controls were mainly at family or genus levels. According to our Redundancy analysis, insulin resistance and obesity might be closely related to both NAFLD phenotype and intestinal microecology. | Fan Li Gang Sun Zikai Wang Wenming Wu He Guo Lihua Peng Lili Wu Xu Guo Yunsheng Yang | 2018 | Science China(Life Sciences)2018,61,7: | 9
Measurement of all electro-elastic constants of lithium tetraborate(Li_2B_4O_7)crystal显示文摘A new approach to determine all the electro-elastic constants of thepiezoelectric crystals in class 4mm has been put forward. As an example, all theconstants of Lithium Tetraborate(Li2B4O7)crystal have been measured bymeans of the approach. The outstanding advantage of the approach is that it on-ly needs to employ in measurement three crystal plates differently oriented. | WANG Jinfeng ZHANG Lei and QIN Zikai(Department of Physics, Shandong University)WANG Hong(Institute of Crystal Materials, Shandong University)HE Dazhen and HO Shaoqin(Institute of Piezoelectrical and Acousto-optical Technology, Sichuan) | 1990 | Chinese Journal of Acoustics1990,9,2: | 1

Netrin-3 Suppresses Diabetic Neuropathic Pain by Gating the Intra-epidermal Sprouting of Sensory显示文摘tDiabetic neuropathic pain(DNP)is the most common disabling complication of diabetes.Emerging evi-dence has linked the pathogenesis of DNP to the aberrant sprouting of sensory axons into the epidermal area;however, the underlying molecular events remain poorly understood. Here we found that an axon guidance molecule,Netrin-3(Ntn-3),was expressed in the sensory neurons of mouse dorsal root ganglia(DRGs),and downregulation of Ntn-3 expression was highly correlated with the severity of DNP in a diabetic mouse model.Genetic ablation of Ntn-3 increased the intra-epidermal sprouting of sensory axons and worsened the DNP in diabetic mice.In contrast, the elevation of Ntn-3 levels in DRGs significantly inhibited the intra-epidermal axon sprouting and alleviated DNP in diabetic mice.In con-clusion,our studies identified Ntn-3 as an important regula-tor of DNP pathogenesis by gating the aberrant sprouting of sensory axons, indicating that Ntn-3 is a potential druggable target for DNP treatment. | Weiping Pan Xueyin Huang Zikai Yu Qiongqiong Ding Liping Xia Jianfeng Hua Bokai Gu Qisong Xiong Hualin Yu Junbo Wang Zhenzhong Xu Linghui Zeng Ge Bai Huaqing Liu | 2023 | Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,5: | 0
Acetyl-L-carnitine protects adipose-derived stem cells exposed to H2O2 through regulating AMBRA1-related autophagy显示文摘The cell activity of adipose-derived stem cells(ADSCs)is affected by the intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS)and the level of autophagy.Previous studies reveal that acetyl-L-carnitine(ALC)possesses capacities of resisting oxidative stress and regulating autophagy.Activating molecule in Beclin1-regulated autophagy protein 1(AMBRA1)plays a key role in initiating Beclin1-regulated autophagy. In the present study,we discovered ALC pretreatment(1 mM,24 h)significantly increased the activity of ADSCs exposed to H_(2)O_(2)(100μM,2 h)in vitro with improved stemness, and reduced the production of intracellular ROS.In addition,we found for the first time that ALC treatment up-regulated autophagy of ADSCs through strengthening the expressions of Beclin1 and AMBRA1 synchronously, which might be involved in the protective effect of ALC. | YAO QIAN JINGPING WANG ZIWAN JI HAO CHEN YUCANG HE XULING LV ZIKAI ZHANG TIAN LI TIANYUN PAN LIQUN LI MING LIN | 2021 | BIOCELL2021,45,1: | 0
Control of polymorphism in solution-processed organic thin film transistors by self-assembled monolayers显示文摘Polymorphism of organic semiconductor films is of key importance for the performance of organic thin film transistors(OTFTs).Herein,we demonstrate that the polymorphism of solution-processed organic semiconductors in thin film transistors can be controlled by finely tuning the surface nanostructures of substrates with self-assembled monolayers(SAMs).It is found that the SAMs of 12-cyclohexyldodecylphosphonic acid(CDPA)and 12-phenyldodecylphosphonic acid(Ph DPA)induce different polymorphs in the dip-coated films of 2-dodecyl[1]benzothieno[3,2-b][1]benzothiophene(BTBT-C12).The film of BTBT-C12 on CDPA exhibits field effect mobility as high as 28.1 cm2 V-1 s-1 for holes, which is higher than that of BTBT-C12 on Ph DPA by three times. The high mobility of BTBT-C12 on CDPA is attributable to the highly oriented films of BTBT-C12 with a reduced in-plane lattice and high molecular alignment. | Danqing Liu Xu Xiao Zikai He Jingjuan Tan Lei Wang Bowen Shan Qian Miao | 2020 | Science China Chemistry2020,63,9: | 0
Epigenetic regulation of aging:implications for interventions of aging and diseases显示文摘Aging is accompanied by the decline of organismal functions and a series of prominent hallmarks, including genetic and epigenetic alterations. These aging-associated epigenetic changes include DNA methylation, histone modification, chromatin remodeling,non-coding RNA(ncRNA)regulation, and RNA modification, all of which participate in the regulation of the aging process, and hence contribute to aging-related diseases. Therefore, understanding the epigenetic mechanisms in aging will provide new avenues to develop strategies to delay aging.Indeed, aging interventions based on manipulating epigenetic mechanisms have led to the alleviation of aging or the extension of the lifespan in animal models.Small molecule-based therapies and reprogramming strategies that enable epigenetic rejuvenation have been developed for ameliorating or reversing aging-related conditions. In addition, adopting health-promoting activities, such as caloric restriction, exercise, and calibrating circadian rhythm, has been demonstrated to delay aging.Furthermore, various clinical trials for aging intervention are ongoing, providing more evidence of the safety and efficacy of these therapies. Here,we review recent work on the epigenetic regulation of aging and outline the advances in intervention strategies for aging and age-associated diseases.A better understanding of the critical roles of epigenetics in the aging process will lead to more clinical advances in the prevention of human aging and therapy of aging-related diseases. | Kang Wang Huicong Liu Qinchao Hu Lingna Wang Jiaqing Liu Zikai Zheng Weiqi Zhang Jie Ren Fangfang Zhu Guang-Hui Liu | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,12: | 0
A Simple Approach to Achieve Organic Radicals with Unusual Solid-State Emission and Persistent Stability显示文摘Sable organic radicals are promising materials for information storage, molecular magnetism, electronic devices, and biological probes. Many organic radicals have been prepared, but most are non-or weakly emissive and degrade easily upon photoexcitation. It remains challenging to produce stable and efficient luminescent radicals because of the absence of general guidelines for their synthesis.Herein,we present a photoactivation approach to generate a stable luminescent radical from tris(4-chlorophenyl)phosph ine(TCPP)with red emission in the crystal state. The mechanistic study suggests that the molecular symmetry breaking in the crystal causes changes of molecular conformation, redox properties, andmolecular packing that facilitates radical generation and stabilization. This design strategy demonstrates a straightforward approach to develop stable organic luminescent radicals that will open new doors to photoinduced luminescent radical materials. | Xueqian Zhao Junyi Gong Parvej Alam Chao Ma Yanpei Wang Jing Guo Zebin Zeng Zikai He Herman H.Y.Sung Ian D.Williams Kam Sing Wong Sijie Chen Jacky W.Y.Lam Zheng Zhao Ben Zhong Tang | 2022 | CCS Chemistry2022,4,6: | 0
