1Coupling controls of neotec-tonism and paleoclimate on the Quaternary sediments of the Yangtze (Changjiang) coast显示文摘Attempt has been made to discuss the coupling relation of neotectonism and paleoclimate that have played a critical role in controlling the Quaternary sediment distribu-tion and sedimentary facies evolution on the Yangtze coast. On the basis of petrological analysis, up to six sedimentary cyclicities have been identified in the Quaternary sediment boreholes on the time scale of 0.4―0.5 Ma. The lower sedi-mentary cyclicities (Pliocene to Early Pleistocene) are char-acterized largely by thicker gravelly coarse sands, topped by thinner fine silt and silty clay. Gravels are very angular and clayey gravels prevail. Sediments are usually of poor sorting, rich in log fragments and have no microfossils. Bedload as denoted by C-M plot occurs throughout the section. This evidence represents the alluvial fan sedimentation which took place as the basin began to subside. The middle sedimentary cyclicities (often including Early to Middle Pleistocene) con-sist of basal gravelly sands and clayey silt at the middle and upper sediment sections. Sorting becomes relatively better, and foraminifer appears sporadically. C-M plot reveals the mixture of sediment transport media via bedload, saltation and suspension, representing sedimentation of braided river system at the early stage and subsequently, the sedimentation of meandering river pattern. The upper sedimentary cyclic-ities (including Late Pleistocene to Holocene) comprise basal gravelly sands (exclusive of the Holocene sediment) and thick fine sand and silty clay on the upper section. Sorting becomes fine and foraminifer appears throughout the sediment sec-tion. C-M plot shows that saltation and suspension serve as the main sediment transport media in the sediment section and bedload transport weakens. These evidence the sedi-mentation of meandering river pattern near coast during Late Pleistocene and Holocene time, when marine transgres-sion invaded into the paleoriver valleys, which often forms drowned-valley facies and shallow marine facies. Of note is the Recent delta facies developed on the top of the cyclicities, and characterized by a large proportion of fine sand and siltyclay, and various sedimentary beddings. 3Simulation of regional land subsidence in the southern Yangtze Delta显示文摘Investigation of the deformation characteristics of individual hydrostratigraphic units is the key to construct a regional land subsidence model. All of 12 hydrostratigraphic units in the study area were discussed throughout. On the basis of the measured data of groundwater level, five kinds of changing patterns of groundwater level were deduced and the relationship between the deformation characteris-tics of aquifer units and the corresponding changing patterns of groundwater level was discussed. The study area is 1.7×104 km2, where the geological condition is complex. The changing patterns of groundwater level the hydrostratigraphic units have experienced vary from site to site and from time to time. Consequently, the deformation characteristics of units are sophisticated. An identical hydros-tratigraphic unit may exhibit different deformation characteristics, such as elasticity, elasto-plasticity, visco-elasticity, and visco-elasto-plasticity, at different sites or during different periods, not to mention the different units. The existing models are difficult to describe the complex visco-elasto-plastic con-stitutive law under the condition of land subsidence. So the Merchant’s model was modified to depict the visco-elasto-plastic behavior of units. Then a three-dimensional flow model with variable parame-ters and a vertical one-dimensional subsidence model were constructed and coupled. The coupled model was applied in simulating land subsidence in the southern Yangtze Delta and a satisfactory re-sult was obtained. The simulation results show that the new coupled model can depict the complex geological conditions and describe the developing process of land subsidence very well in the south-ern Yangtze Delta. 4Rational design for fungal laccase production in the model host Aspergillus nidulans显示文摘Laccases, multicopper oxidoreductases, are mainly produced in white-rot fungi and are considered as ideal green catalysts in industrial and biotechnological applications. However, the development of laccases is limited due to the slow growth of natural laccase producing strains and the low expression levels of laccases. In this study, we designed three regulation strategies for laccase gene expression in the model fungus Aspergillus nidulans. By introducing various promoters in front of the laccase gene pslcc from the white-rot fungus Pycnoporus sanguineus, we found that the laccase gene with the original promoter had effective expression in A. nidulans. Using the previously identified transcription factor RsmA regulatory mechanism, the aflR promoter was inserted into the pslcc expression vectors, and the laccase production was 15-fold higher in the strain overexpressing of RsmA compared to the control strain. To improve the laccase yield, the dipeptidyl-peptidase DppV, aspartic protease PepA and mannosyltransferase Mnn9 were successfully deleted in the A. nidulans host. 5Analysis and prediction of loudspeaker large-signal symptoms显示文摘Nonlinear lumped-parameter force factor Bl(x), stiffness Kms(x) and inductance Le(x) of electrodynamic loudspeakers change frequency responses and generate some nonlinear effects for large stimulus: harmonic and intermodulation distortion, DC component in diaphragm displacement, instability of vibration and jumping effects. By modeling the nonlinear system under large-signal conditions, relationship between the nonlinear parameters and large-signal behavior can be revealed and help to provide guidance to diagnose loudspeakers. 6Nonlinear behavior of electrodynamic loudspeaker suspension at low frequencies显示文摘The suspension of electrodynamic loudspeakers includes a surround of the cone and a spider, and it is characterized by the mechanic stiffness in the lumped-parameter model. By solving the nonlinear differential equation of motion which considers the nonlinearity of suspension at low frequencies numerically and measuring different kinds of surrounds and spiders, the nonlinear behavior of suspension is theoretically and experimentally studied. Since the nonlinear stiffness of spiders and surrounds can be measured and fitted respectively before assembled into loudspeakers, which spider works best with which surround is studied. 9Genome Mining and Biosynthesis Study of a Type B Linaridin Reveals a Highly Versatileα-N-Methyltransferase显示文摘Linaridins are a small but growing family of natural products belonging to the ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptide(RiPP)superfamily.In this study,a genome mining approach led to the identification of a novel linaridin,mononaridin(MON),from Streptomyces monomycini.In-frame deletion genetic knockout studies showed that,in addition to many genes essential for MON biosynthesis,monM encodes an S-adenosyl methionine(SAM)-dependentα-N-methyltransferase that is responsible for installing two methyl groups in the MON N-terminus.Besides SAM,MonM also accepts ethyl-SAM and allyl-SAM,in which the methyl of SAM is replaced by an ethyl and an allyl,respectively.We showed that ethyl-SAM and allyl-SAM have distinct reactivities in MonM catalysis,and this observation was further investigated in detail by density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Remarkably,MonM acts efficiently on nisin,a prototypic lantibiotic that is structurally very different from the native substrate,and the ability of MonM to transfer an allyl group to the nisin N-terminus allowed production of a fluorescently labeled nisin,which can be further used in microscopic cell analysis.Our studies provide new insights into linaridin biosynthesis and demonstrate the potential of linaridin methyltransferases in bioengineering applications.Fangting Wang Wanqing Wei Junfeng Zhao Tianlu Mo Xin Wang Xuedong Huang Suze Ma Shu Wang Zixin Deng Wei Ding Yong Liang Qi Zhang 2021CCS Chemistry2021,3,3:1

11Gd-doped CuBi_(2)O_(4)/CuO heterojunction film photocathodes for photoelectrochemical H_(2)O_(2)production through oxygen reduction显示文摘Photoelectrochemical oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)toward H_(2)O_(2)is highly desirable because only sunlight,O_(2)and water are required in the process.However,the corresponding studies are still at its infancy because of the lack of suitable photocathodes,especially inorganic semiconductor photocathodes.In this work,we report CuBi_(2)O_(4)/CuO(CBO/CuO)heterojunction submicrocrystalline film photocathodes with efficient ORR activity for H_(2)O_(2)production.The heterojunction film photocathodes were prepared through thermal evaporation of Cu and Bi metals under vacuum and subsequent annealing treatment.Furthermore,the doping of Gd^(3+)ions into CBO/CuO could significantly enhance the yield of H_(2)O_(2).As a result,the concentration of H_(2)O_(2)could reach 1.3 mM within 30 min,which is 6 times higher than that obtained on the pristine CBO/CuO photocathode.The theoretical calculations suggested that the introduction of Gd could adjust the electronic structure of CBO surface and promote 2e ORR pathway for selective production of H_(2)O_(2).Our work not only provides a new strategy for designing highly efficient photocathode for H_(2)O_(2)production but also will evoke more interest in photoelectrocatalytic ORR through inorganic semiconductor photocathode.Zixin Li Quanlong Xu Faliang Gou Bing He Wei Chen Weiwei Zheng Xu Jiang Kai Chen Chenze Qi Dekun Ma 2021Nano Research2021,14,10:1
12Strategy for efficient cloning of biosynthetic gene clusters from fungi显示文摘Filamentous fungi are excellent sources for the production of a group of bioactive small molecules which are often called secondary metabolites(SMs). The advanced genome sequencing technology combined with bioinformatics analysis reveals a large number of unexplored biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs) in the fungal genomes. To unlock this fungal SM treasure, many approaches including heterologous expression are being developed and efficient cloning of the BGCs is a crucial step to do this.Here, we present an efficient strategy for the direct cloning of fungal BGCs. This strategy consisted of Splicing by Overlapping Extension(SOE)-PCR and yeast assembly in vivo. By testing 14 BGCs DNA fragments ranging from 7 kb to 52 kb, the average positive rate was over 80%. The maximal insertion size for fungal BGC assembly was 52 kb. Those constructs could be used conveniently for the heterologous expression leading to the discovery of novel natural products. 13Abrasive wear behaviors of high velocity arc sprayed iron aluminum composite coatings显示文摘The High Velocity Arc Spraying (HVAS) technology was used to prepare Fe-Al composite coatings by the adding of dif- ferent elements into cored wires to obtain different Fe-Al coatings. The added compounds do great effect on the properties of the composite coatings. The microstructures and abrasive wear performances of the coatings were assessed by transmission electron mi- croscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and THT07-135 high temperature wear equipment. It was found that the ad- ding of Cr3C2 can greatly increase the room temperature wear behavior, and Fe-Al/WC coatings have adapting periods at the begin- ning of wear experiment. With the rise of temperature, the wear resistance of Fe-Al/Cr3C2 coatings becomes bad from room tem- perature to 250°C, and then stable from 250°C to 550°C; the wear resistance of Fe-Al/WC becomes well with the rise of temperature. 15Separation of Atmospheric Circulation Patterns Governing Regional Variability of Arctic Sea Ice in Summer显示文摘In recent decades,Arctic summer sea ice extent(SIE)has shown a rapid decline overlaid with large interannual variations,both of which are influenced by geopotential height anomalies over Greenland(GL-high)and the central Arctic(CA-high).In this study,SIE along coastal Siberia(Sib-SIE)and Alaska(Ala-SIE)is found to account for about 65%and 21%of the Arctic SIE interannual variability,respectively.Variability in Ala-SIE is related to the GL-high,whereas variability in Sib-SIE is related to the CA-high.A decreased Ala-SIE is associated with decreased cloud cover and increased easterly winds along the Alaskan coast,promoting ice-albedo feedback.A decreased Sib-SIE is associated with a significant increase in water vapor and downward longwave radiation(DLR)along the Siberian coast.The years 2012 and 2020 with minimum recorded ASIE are used as examples.Compared to climatology,summer 2012 is characterized by a significantly enhanced GL-high with major sea ice loss along the Alaskan coast,while summer 2020 is characterized by an enhanced CA-high with sea ice loss focused along the Siberian coast.In 2012,the lack of cloud cover along the Alaskan coast contributed to an increase in incoming solar radiation,amplifying ice-albedo feedback there;while in 2020,the opposite occurs with an increase in cloud cover along the Alaskan coast,resulting in a slight increase in sea ice there.Along the Siberian coast,increased DLR in 2020 plays a dominant role in sea ice loss,and increased cloud cover and water vapor both contribute to the increased DLR.Shaoyin WANG Jiping LIU Xiao CHENG Richard JGREATBATCH Zixin WEI Zhuoqi CHEN Hua LI 2023Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2023,40,12:0
16Well-structured 3D channels within GO-based membranes enable ultrafast wastewater treatment显示文摘Graphene oxide(GO)-based membranes have been widely studied for realizing efficient wastewater treatment,due to their easily functionalizeable surfaces and tunable interlayer structures.However,the irregular structure of water channels within GO-based membrane has largely confined water permeance and prevented the simultaneously improvement of purification performance.Herein,we purposely construct the well-structured three-dimensional(3D)water channels featuring regular and negatively-charged properties in the GO/SiO_(2)composite membrane via in situ close-packing assembly of SiO_(2)nanoparticles onto GO nanosheets.Such regular 3D channels can improve the water permeance to a record-high value of 33,431.5±559.9 L·m^(−2)·h−1(LMH)bar−1,which is several-fold higher than those of current state-of-the-art GO-based membranes.We further demonstrate that benefiting from negative charges on both GO and SiO2,these negatively-charged 3D channels enable the charge selectivity well toward dye in wastewater where the rejection for positive-charged and negative-charged dye molecules is 99.6%vs.7.2%,respectively.The 3D channels can also accelerate oil/water(O/W)separation process,in which the O/W permeance and oil rejection can reach 19,589.2±1,189.7 LMH bar−1 and 98.2%,respectively.The present work unveils the positive role of well-structured 3D channels on synchronizing the remarkable improvement of both water permeance and purification performance for highly efficient wastewater treatment.Huaqiang Fu Zhe Wang Peng Li Wei Qian Zixin Zhang Xin Zhao Hao Feng Zhugen Yang Zongkui Kou Daping He 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:0
17Scalable fabrication of graphene-assembled multifunctional electrode with efficient electrochemical detection of dopamine and glucose显示文摘Conventional glassy carbon electrodes(GCE)cannot meet the requirements of future electrodes for wider use due to low conductivity,high cost,non-portability,lack of flexibility.Therefore,cost-effective and wearable electrode enabling rapid and versatile molecule detection is becoming important,especially with the ever-increasing demand for health monitoring and point-ofcare diagnosis.Graphene is considered as an ideal electrode due to its excellent physicochemical properties.Here,we prepare graphene film with ultra-high conductivity and customize the 3-electrode system via a facile and highly controllable laser engraving approach.Benefiting from the ultra-high conductivity(5.65×10^(5)S·m^(−1)),the 3-electrode system can be used as multifunctional electrode for direct detection of dopamine(DA)and enzyme-based detection of glucose without further metal deposition.The dynamic ranges from 1–200μM to 0.5–8.0 mM were observed for DA and glucose,respectively,with a limit of detection(LOD)of 0.6μM and 0.41 mM.Overall,the excellent target detection capability caused by the ultra-high conductivity and ease modification of graphene films,together with their superb mechanical properties and ease of mass-produced,provides clear potential not only for replacing GCE for various electrochemical studies but also for the development of portable and highperformance electrochemical wearable medical devices.Xiaodong Ji Xin Zhao Zixin Zhang Yunfa Si Wei Qian Huaqiang Fu Zibo Chen Zhe Wang Huihui Jin Zhugen Yang Daping He 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0

19In-situ Fluid Phase Variation along the Thermal Maturation Gradient in Shale Petroleum Systems and Its Impact on Well Production Performance显示文摘In-situ fluid phase behavior is important in determining hydrocarbon contents and the multiphase flow through shale reservoirs.The gas-to-oil ratio(GOR) has been recognized as a critical indicator of fluid types.However,little is known about the impact of fluid phase variation across the thermal maturity on shale oil/gas production(e.g.,estimated ultimate recovery,EUR).According to the specific gravity ratio of oil/gas,the producing GOR was converted and normalized into a mass fraction of gas in total hydrocarbons(MGOR) to compare North American shale oil/gas plays with Chinese shale oil and hybrid gas-condensate plays.A correlation between MGOR,the fluid phases,and production data was established to identify five phase stages of flow.MGORvaries systematically with the different production zones,which shows promise in rapidly indicating the well production performance and high production stages of shale oil/gas plays.The hybrid shale gas condensate index,Tmax,and total gas contents were integrated to present the fluid types and maturity of shale gas-condensates,which indicates fluid phase and production variation across thermal evolution.The results offer a unique perspective on the shale oil reservoir producibility based on the impact of GOR on fluid phases and EUR from the dominant global oil/gas plays.Qianyou Wang Wei Yang Yaohua Li Zhenxue Jiang Ming Wen Rusi Zuo Xin Wang Zixin Xue Yaohua Wang 2023Journal of Earth Science2023,34,4:0
