| 4 | China's foreign aid for global poverty alleviation:artemisinin-based combination therapies against malaria in Togo显示文摘From providing funds for the global fight against infectious diseases,to actively participating in global health security actions,to strengthening mutual cooperation in the field of health,and providing medical treatment,training and scholarships to countries in need,China’s foreign aid on global poverty alleviation is increasingly diversified and expanding in scale.Indeed,China is playing an increasingly important leading role in the global health agenda.It is worth mentioning that over the years,artemisinin compound have saved millions of lives all over the world,especially in poverty-stricken areas.China’s work mode of malaria elimination has also been written into WHO’s technical documents and recommended to other countries.Since 2007,Chinese medical staff has carried out the Artemisinin Compound Malaria Control Project in Comoros,bringing Chinese prevention and treatment programs to the local area.By 2014,Comoros had achieved zero deaths from malaria,and the number of cases had dropped by 98%.Now,this program is also extended to Togo,another African country.This article preliminarily summarizes the malaria profile in Togo and introduces China-Togo Cooperative Artemisinin Malaria Control Demonstration Project to provide a reference for better anti-malaria assistance in Togo,and also shows one of the substantive actions of China’s participation in global health governance,which contributes Chinese wisdom and offers Chinese solutions to global poverty alleviation. | Qi Wang Chuyi Yu Hongying Zhang Shaoqin Zheng Jianping Song Changsheng Deng | 2021 | Global Health Journal2021,5,3: | 3 |
| 5 | A biomimetic and bioactive scaffold with intelligently pulsatile teriparatide delivery for local and systemic osteoporosis regeneration显示文摘Osteoporosis is one of the most disabling consequences of aging,osteoporotic fractures and higher risk of the subsequent fractures leading to substantial disability and deaths,indicating both local fractures healing and the early anti-osteoporosis therapy are of great significance.Teriparatide is strong bone formation promoter effective in treating osteoporosis,while side effects limit clinical applications.Traditional drug delivery is lack of sensitive and short-term release,finding a new non-invasive and easily controllable drug delivery to not only repair the local fractures but also improve total bone mass has remained a great challenge.Thus,bioinspired by the natural bone components,we develop appropriate interactions between inorganic biological scaffolds and organic drug molecules,achieving both loaded with the teriparatide in the scaffold and capable of releasing on demand.Herein,biomimetic bone microstructure of mesoporous bioglass,a near-infrared ray triggered switch,thermosensitive liposomes based on a valve,and polydopamine coated as a heater is developed rationally for osteoporotic bone regeneration.Teriparatide is pulsatile released from intelligent delivery,not only rejuvenating osteoporotic bone defect,but also presenting strong systemic anti-osteoporosis therapy.This biomimetic bone carrying novel drug delivery platform is well worth expecting to be a new promising strategy and clinically commercialized to help patients survive from the osteoporotic fracture. | Lingbin Che Ying Wang Dongyong Sha Guangyi Li Ziheng Wei Changsheng Liu Yuan Yuan Dianwen Song | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,1: | 3 |
| 6 | Selective potassium uptake via biocompatible zeolite–polymer hybrid microbeads as promising binders for hyperkalemia显示文摘Patients with chronic kidney disease are at high risk of hyperkalemia that is associated with various lifethreatening complications.Treatments primarily rely on orally administered potassium binding agents,along with low curative effects and various side effects.Herein,direct serum potassium uptake was realized via zeolite–heparin-mimicking-polymer hybrid microbeads.The preparation process involved the synthesis of the heparin-mimicking polymer via the in situ cross-linking polymerization of acrylic acid and N-vinylpyrrolidone in polyethersulfone solution,the fabrication of microbeads via zeolite-mixing,electro-spraying and phase-inversion,and the subsequent aqueous-phase modifications based on ion-exchange and metal-leaching.An ultra-high(about 88%)amount of zeolite could be incorporated and well locked inside the polymer matrix.Potassium uptake capability was verified in water,normal saline and human serum,showing high selectivity and fast adsorption.The microbeads exhibited satisfying blood compatibility,negligible hemolysis ratio,prolonged clotting time,inhibited contact activation,and enhanced antifouling property toward serum proteins and cells.The proposed approach toward zeolite–heparin-mimicking-polymer hybrid microbeads provided a cheap,efficient and safe treatment protocol of hyperkalemia for the high-risk patients. | Zhoujun Wang Wei Sun Zhiwei Wei Jianxu Bao Xin Song Yupei Li Haifeng Ji Jue Zhang Chao He Baihai Su Weifeng Zhao Changsheng Zhao | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,2: | 2 |
| 7 | Structural and Magnetic Properties of Nanocomposite Nd Fe BPrepared by Rapid Thermal Processing显示文摘Nanoscale permanent magnetic materials,which possess excellent magnetic and mechanical properties,thermal stability,and corrosion resistance,have become a research hotspot for permanent magnets.In reality,however,the obtained maximum energy product,(BH)max,is not satisfactory in comparison with the theory limit,especially for exchange-coupled nanocomposite magnets.The construction of an ideal microstructure still remains a challenge in the synthesis and preparation of nanoscale permanent magnets.This work reported the impact of rapid thermal process(RTP)with electron-beam heating on the microstructures of Nd12.5-xFe80.8+xB6.2Nb0.2Ga0.3(x=0,2.5)nanocomposites.It was found that the crystallization time was greatly reduced,from 15 min under the conventional annealing conditions to 0.1 s under the RTP.For Nd2Fe14B single-phase materials,the crystallization temperature of the RTP ribbons decreased by about 248 C compared with that of the ribbons produced by the conventional annealing method.A synergetic crystallization of the Nd2Fe14B and a-Fe phases was observed under the RTP,which restrained not only the shape,size distribution,and compositions of the hard and the soft phases,but also the interface between them.This modification effect became more obvious as the fraction of Fe increased.Due to the improvement in the uniformity of the Nd2Fe14B and a-Fe phases,and their grain size distribution,better magnetic properties were achieved using RTP in comparison with the conventional annealing method. | Jinbo Yang Jingzhi Han Haidong Tian Liang Zha Xiongzuo Zhang Chol Song Kim Dong Liang Wenyun Yang Shunquan Liu Changsheng Wang | 2020 | Engineering2020,6,2: | 2 |
