Effects of mulberry leaf flavonoid and resveratrol on methane emission and nutrient digestion in sheep显示文摘As a new type of methane control agent, natural plant extract has been widely studied in recent years, but in vivo studies are few. This study was to investigate the effects of the dietary supplementation of 2 different polyphenols on the methane(CH4) emission and digestion metabolism in sheep. Ten healthy crossbred sheep(Dorper(?)× small-tailed Han ♀; BW 60.0 ± 1.73 kg) were used in a change-over design. The sheep were fed the following 3 diets in the present study: the basal diet(CON) with no supplementation; the basal diet supplemented with 2 g mulberry leaf flavonoid(MLF) per day per sheep; the basal diet supplemented with 0.25 g resveratrol(RES) per day per sheep. Both MLF and RES reduced CH4 emission scaled to metabolic weight per kilogram of DMI and CO2 output scaled to metabolic weight, but the effect of RES was significant(P < 0.05). Both MLF and RES significantly improved apparent digestibility of DM, OM, NDF, ADF, and nitrogen, but the effect of RES was significant(P < 0.05). Both MLF and RES significantly improved ME(P < 0.05) and reduced energy losses in CH4 emission(P > 0.05). In conclusion, MLF and RES can improve the digestibility of nutrients, the utilization of nutrients and energy, and reduce CH4 emission, but they are not conducive to nitrogen retention. | Dandan Chen Xiaolin Chen Yan Tu Bo Wang Can Lou Tao Ma Qiyu Diao | 2015 | Animal Nutrition2015,,4: | 14

Facile Fabrication of Hierarchically Porous Carbonaceous Monoliths with Ordered Mesostructure via an Organic Organic Self-Assembly显示文摘A simple strategy for the synthesis of macro-mesoporous carbonaceous monolith materials has been demonstrated through an organic organic self-assembly at the interface of an organic scaffold such as polyurethane(PU)foam.Hierarchically porous carbonaceous monoliths with cubic(Im m)or hexagonal(p6mm)mesostructure were prepared through evaporation induced self-assembly of the mesostructure on the three-dimensional(3-D)interconnecting struts of the PU foam scaffold. The preparation was carried out by using phenol/formaldehyde resol as a carbon precursor, triblock copolymer F127 as a template for the mesostructure and PU foam as a sacrificial monolithic scaffold.Their hierarchical pore system was macroscopically fabricated with cable-like mesostructured carbonaceous struts. The carbonaceous monoliths exhibit macropores of diameter 100450μm,adjustable uniform mesopores(3.87.5 nm),high surface areas(200870 m2/g),and large pore volumes(0.170.58)cm3/g.Compared with the corresponding evaporation induced self-assembly(EISA)process on a planar substrate, this facile process is a time-saving,labor-saving,space-saving,and highly effi cient pathway for mass production of ordered mesoporous materials. | Chunfeng Xue Bo Tu Dongyuan Zhao | 2009 | Nano Research2009,2,3: | 12
Seven-day triple therapy is a better choice for Helicobacter pylori eradication in regions with low antibiotic resistance显示文摘AIM: To investigate whether 7-d triple therapies are still valid in populations with low levels of resistance.METHODS: A total of 1106 Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori)-positive patients were divided into three groups, each of which received one type of 7-d triple therapy. Therapeutic outcomes of the patients were assessed by the 13C-urea breath test at 8 wk after treatment. The susceptibility of H. pylori to antibiotics was determined by an agar-dilution method. Data analysis was performed by χ2 tests.RESULTS: The eradication rates in groups A,B and C were 90.71%(332/366),90.46%(313/346) and 90.87%(189/208),respectively(P = 0.986). The resistance rates were 8.91% for clarithromycin,14.78% for levofloxacin and 0% for amoxicillin. The eradication rate was significantly different between clarithromycin-and levofloxacin-resistant patients(P < 0.05) in group A. Patients whose treatment failed in group A also had a higher clarithromycin resistance rate than did successive patients(P = 0.034). However, levofloxacin resistance had no obvious influence on the eradication rate. Furthermore, three main antibiotics(clarithromycin, levofloxacin and amoxicillin) had lower DID(defined daily dose per 1000 inhabitants per day) in this city.CONCLUSION: Clarithromycin resistance is the main reason for the failure of 7-d triple therapy. In populations with low levels of resistance,a 7-d triple therapy is a viable choice. The choice of therapy should not be influenced by conditions in high antibiotic resistance regions. | Yue-Feng Tong Jun Lv Li-Yuan Ying Fang Xu Bo Qin Ming-Tong Chen Fei Meng Miao-Ying Tu Ning-Min Yang You-Ming Li Jian-Zhong Zhang | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,46: | 12
Interface issues of lithium metal anode for high-energy batteries: Challenges, strategies, and perspectives显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal is considered as one of the most promising anode materials for next-generation high-energy-density storage systems. However, the practical application of Li metal anode is hindered by interfacial instability and air instability due to the highly reactivity of Li metal.Unstable interface in Li metal batteries(LMBs)directly dictates Li dendrite growth,“dead Li”and low Coulombic efficiency, resulting in inferior electrochemical performance of LMBs and even safety issues. In addition, its sensitivity to ambient air leads to the severe corrosion of Li metal anode, high requirements of production and storage, and increased manufacturing cost.Plenty of efforts in recent years have overcome many bottlenecks in these fields and hastened the practical applications of high-energy-density LMBs.In this review,we focus on emerging methods of these two aspects to fulfill a stable and low cost electrode. In this perspective, design artificial solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers, construct three-dimensional conductive current collectors, optimize electrolytes, employ solid-state electrolytes, and modify separators are summarized to be propitious to ameliorate interfacial stability.Meanwhile,ex situ/in situ formed protective layers are highlighted in favor of heightening air stability. Finally, several possible directions for the future research on advanced Li metal anode are addressed. | Yiyao Han Bo Liu Zhen Xiao Wenkui Zhang Xiuli Wang Guoxiang Pan Yang Xia Xinhui Xia Jiangping Tu | 2021 | InfoMat2021,3,2: | 11
First mass measurement of short-lived nuclides at HIRFL-CSR显示文摘Recent commissioning of the HIRFL-CSR has demonstrated its ability to perform direct mass measurement for short-lived nuclides. Projectile fragments produced by the 78Kr ions at 481.88 MeV/u were separated with the new radioactive beam line in Lanzhou (RIBLL2), and injected into and stored in the experimental storage ring (CSRe). By operating the CSRe as an isochronous mass spectrometry, a typical mass resolution around 2.0×10?5 has been achieved. The masses for 63Ge, 65As and 67Se were measured for the first time. The measured masses are compared with theoretical predictions and the location of the proton drip-line for As isotopes is discussed. The implication of the 65As mass in the astrophysical rapid proton capture process has also been addressed. | XU HuShan TU XiaoLin YUAN YouJin XIA JiaWen ZANG YongDong WANG Meng MAO RuiShi HU ZhengGuo MEI Bo SHUAI Peng ZHU ZhiChao TANG ShuWen GENG Peng LIU Yong ZHAO TieCheng ZHANG XueYing YANG JianCheng MAO LiJun ZHANG YuHu ZHOU XiaoHong HUANG WenXue XIAO GuoQing ZHAO HongWei ZHAN WenLong | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,24: | 11
Prognostic factors of trans-ethmosphenoid optic canal decompression for indirect traumatic optic neuropathy显示文摘● AIM: To investigate a possible correlation between visual acuity(VA) prognosis and the presence at baseline of various orbital and ocular signs in patients affected by indirect traumatic optic neuropathy(ITON).● METHODS: From July 1 st, 2012 to July 1 st, 2015, 224 adults diagnosed with ITON who underwent endoscopic transethmosphenoid optic canal decompression(ETOCD) were reviewed. Visual outcome before and after treatment were taken into comparison.● RESULTS: Accompanied older in age, longer time to medical treatment and existence of optic canal fracture(OCF) were the independent predictors for poor postoperative VA and lower improvement degree of visual acuity(IDVA), while worse preoperative VA was predictive factor for poor postoperative VA only. Mean value of IDVA in patients with OCF was 0.19±0.30. Mean value of IDVA in patients without OCF was 0.29±0.35. IDVA in cases without OCF was significant higher than those with OCF(t=2.272, P<0.05).● CONCLUSION: Patients suffered from ITON without OCF before ETOCD have better surgical outcome than those with OCF. Older in age, longer time to medical treatment and existence of OCF are independent factors for poor VA prognosis and lower IDVA. Preoperative VA is independent factor for VA prognosis only. | Ying-Jie Ma Bo Yu Yun-Hai Tu Bang-Xun Mao Xin-Yi Yu Wen-Can Wu | 2018 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2018,11,7: | 10

Removal of cyanide adsorbed on pyrite by H_2O_2 oxidation under alkaline conditions显示文摘Large amounts of cyanide tailings are produced during the cyanidation process in gold extraction, which are hazardous solid wastes due to the toxic cyanide.Pyrite is one of the main minerals in cyanide tailings. The removal of cyanide adsorbed on pyrite by H_2O_2 oxidation under alkaline conditions was investigated in this study. It was found that the removal efficiency was positively correlated with pH from 5 to 12,but remained almost constant when pH was higher than 12.The highest cyanide removal efficiency of 91.10% was achieved by adding no less than 0.6 wt.% of H_2O_2.Cyanide removal was positively correlated with the CN^-adsorption amount between 1.06 and 8.5 mg/g,and temperature between 25 and 85°C.The removal of cyanide adsorbed on pyrite by H_2O_2 oxidation under alkaline conditions was due to the oxidation of pyrite.Hexacyanoferrate, thiocyanate and sulfate were generated with mole ratios of about 2.03:1.12:3.17 during the cyanide removal.?2018 The Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences,Chinese Academy of Sciences. | Yubo Tu Peiwei Han Lianqi Wei Xiaomeng Zhang Bo Yu Peng Qian Shufeng Ye | 2019 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,4: | 8
Salivary mycobiome dysbiosis and its potential impact on bacteriome shifts and host immunity in oral lichen planus显示文摘The biodiversity of the mycobiome,an important component of the oral microbial community, and the roles of fungal–bacterial and fungal–immune system interactions in the pathogenesis of oral lichen planus (OLP) remain largely uncharacterized. In this study,we sequenced the salivary mycobiome and bacteriome associated with OLP.First,we described the dysbiosis of the microbiome in OLP patients, which exhibits lower levels of fungi and higher levels of bacteria.Significantly higher abundances of the fungi Candida and Aspergillus in patients with reticular OLP and of Alternaria and Sclerotiniaceae_unidentified in patients with erosive OLP were observed compared to the healthy controls.Aspergillus was identified as an “OLP-associated” fungus because of its detection at a higher frequency than in the healthy controls.Second, the co-occurrence patterns of the salivary mycobiome–bacteriome demonstrated negative associations between specific fungal and bacterial taxa identified in the healthy controls, which diminished in the reticular OLP group and even became positive in the erosive OLP group. Moreover, the oral cavities of OLP patients were colonized by dysbiotic oral flora with lower ecological network complexity and decreased fungal–Firmicutes and increased fungal–Bacteroidetes sub-networks.Third,several keystone fungal genera (Bovista,Erysiphe,Psathyrella, etc.) demonstrated significant correlations with clinical scores and IL-17 levels. Thus,we established that fungal dysbiosis is associated with the aggravation of OLP.Fungal dysbiosis could alter the salivary bacteriome or may reflect a direct effect of host immunity, which participates in OLP pathogenesis. | Yan Li Kun Wang Bo Zhang Qichao Tu Yufei Yao Bomiao Cui Biao Ren Jinzhi He Xin Shen Joy D.Van Nostrand Jizhong Zhou Wenyuan Shi Liying Xiao Changqing Lu Xuedong Zhou | 2019 | International Journal of Oral Science2019,11,3: | 8

On the modification of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys using rare earth Er显示文摘Hypereutectic Al-17.5Si (wt pct) and Al-25Si (wt pct) alloys with various content of rare earth Er were prepared by conventional casting technique. The effect of Er on the microstructure and properties of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys was investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy as well as friction and wear tests. It was found that optimal amount of Er exists in modifying the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys. An appropriate addition of Er improved the anti-wear properties, and reduced the friction coefficient of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys studied. | 16 | System dynamics model of the support-surrounding rock system in fully mechanized mining with large mining height face and its application显示文摘Fully mechanized mining with large mining height(FMMLMH)is widely used in thick coal seam mining face for its higher recovery ratio, especially where the thickness is less than 7.0 m.However, because of the great mining height and intense rock pressure, the coal wall rib spalling, roof falling and the instability of support occur more likely in FMMLMH working face, and the above three types of disasters interact with each other with complicated relationships. In order to get the relationship between each two of coal wall, roof, floor and support, and reduce the occurrence probability of the three types of disasters,we established the system dynamics(SD)model of the support-surrounding rock system which is composed of'coal wall-roof-floor-support'(CW-R-F-S)in a FMMLMH working face based on the condition of No.15104 working face in Sijiazhuang coal mine. With the software of Vensim,we also simulated the interaction process between each two factors of roof, floor, coal wall and the support. The results show that the SD model of'CW-R-F-S'system can reveal the complicated and interactive relationship clearly between the support and surrounding rock in the FMMLMH working face.By increasing the advancing speed of working face, the support resistance or the length of support guard,or by decreasing the tipto-face distance, the stability of'CW-R-F-S'system will be higher and the happening probability of the disasters such as coal wall rib spalling, roof falling or the instability of support will be lower. These research findings have been testified in field application in No.15104 working face, which can provide a new approach for researching the interaction relationship of support and surrounding rock. | Yuan Yong Tu Shihao Zhang Xiaogang Li Bo | 2013 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2013,23,6: | 7
ANGPTL2 expression in gastric cancer tissues and cells and its biological behavior显示文摘AIM To explore expression of angiopoietin-like protein 2(ANGpT L2) and its effect on biological behavior such as proliferation and invasiveness in gastric cancer. METHODS Western blotting was used to detect expression of ANGp TL2 in 60 human normal gastric tissues, 60 human gastric cancer tissues and gastric cell lines including GES-1, N87, SGC7901, BGC823 and pA MC82. 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) and Transwell assay were used to detect the proliferation and invasive ability of gastric cancer cells. RESULTS Compared to normal tissues, ANGp TL2 protein levels were significantly upregulated in gastric tissues, and this level was closely correlated with gastric tumor grade, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. Compared to GES-1 cells, ANGpT L2 mR NA and protein levels were significantly increased in gastric cancer cells including N87, SGC7901, BGC823 and p AMC82. The expression of ANGpT L2 in highly malignant gastric cancer cell lines BGC823 and pA MC82 was significantly higher than in low malignancy gastric cancer cell lines N87 and SGC7901. MTT and Transwell experiments indicated that the proliferation rate and invasive ability of stable overexpressed gastric cancer cells was faster than in cells transfected with Lv-NC and blank controlcells, and the invasive ability of stable overexpressed gastric cancer cells was higher than that of cells transfected with Lv-NC and blank control cells.CONCLUSION ANGp TL2 contributed to proliferation and invasion of gastric cancer cells. In clinical treatment, ANGpT L2 may become a new target for treatment of gastric cancer. | Wei-Zhong Sheng Yu-Sheng Chen Chuan-Tao Tu Juan He Bo Zhang Wei-Dong Gao | 2016 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2016,22,47: | 7
High levels of circulating GM-CSF^(+) CD4^(+) T cells are predictive of poor outcomes in sepsis patients: a prospective cohort study显示文摘Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF),produced by CD4^(+)T cells, has recently been implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and juvenile arthritis. However, the role of GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in sepsis remains unknown. This study reports peripheral changes in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells in septic patients and the possible underlying mechanism by which GM-CSF influences the outcome of sepsis.Forty-three septic patients,20 SIRS patients, and 20 healthy controls were enrolled in this study and followed for 28 days to assess mortality. We measured the peripheral frequency of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells and recorded their associated relationship with disease progression. Our data demonstrated that peripheral GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells were significantly higher in septic patients than in both SIRS patients and healthy controls. These cells exhibit a memory phenotype and impaired IFN-γ-secreting capacity in sepsis patients.Using a receiver operating curve analysis with 8.01%as a cut-off point, the percentage of GM-CSF^(+)CD4^(+)T cells could predict the outcome of septic patients.Combined with the increase in GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells, inflammatory cytokines IL-1βand IL-6 were also upregulated.Using an in vitro neutrophil model,we found that GM-CSF inhibited C3aR expression, while inducing IL-8 production.Furthermore, this effect was transferrable in plasma from sepsis patients and was attenuated by inhibition of GM-CSF using an anti-GM-CSF antibody. These results indicate that GM-CSF-producing CD4^(+)T cells may serve as a marker of sepsis severity. Thus, targeting GM-CSF overproduction may benefit sepsis patients. | Huihuang Huang Siyu Wang Tianjun Jiang Rong Fan Zheng Zhang Jinsong Mu Ke Li Yonggang Wang Lei Jin Fang Lin Jie Xia Lijian Sun Biao Xu Chengcheng Ji Jing Chen Juan Chang Bo Tu Bing Song Chao Zhang Fu-Sheng Wang Ruonan Xu | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,6: | 6
Multivariate predictive model for asymptomatic spontaneous bacterial peritonitis in patients with liver cirrhosis显示文摘BACKGROUNDSpontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is a detrimental infection of the asciticfluid in liver cirrhosis patients, with high mortality and morbidity. Earlydiagnosis and timely antibiotic administration have successfully decreased themortality rate to 20%-25%. However, many patients cannot be diagnosed in theearly stages due to the absence of classical SBP symptoms. Early diagnosis ofasymptomatic SBP remains a great challenge in the clinic.AIMTo establish a multivariate predictive model for early diagnosis of asymptomaticSBP using positive microbial cultures from liver cirrhosis patients with ascites.METHODSA total of 98 asymptomatic SBP patients and 98 ascites liver cirrhosis patients withnegative microbial cultures were included in the case and control groups, respectively. Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis was performed toidentify potential indicators for asymptomatic SBP diagnosis. The diagnosticperformance of the model was estimated using the receiver operatingcharacteristic curve.RESULTSPatients in the case group were more likely to have advanced disease stages, cirrhosis related-complications, worsened hematology and ascites, and higher mortality. Based on multivariate analysis, the predictive model was as follows: y (P) = 0.018 + 0.312 × MELD (model of end-stage liver disease) + 0.263 × PMN(ascites polymorphonuclear) + 0.184 × N (blood neutrophil percentage) + 0.233 ×HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma) + 0.189 × renal dysfunction. The area under thecurve value of the established model was 0.872, revealing its high diagnosticpotential. The diagnostic sensitivity was 73.5% (72/98), the specificity was 86.7%(85/98), and the diagnostic efficacy was 80.1%.CONCLUSIONOur predictive model is based on the MELD score, polymorphonuclear cells, blood N, hepatocellular carcinoma, and renal dysfunction. This model mayimprove the early diagnosis of asymptomatic SBP. | Bo Tu Yue-Ning Zhang Jing-Feng Bi Zhe Xu Peng Zhao Lei Shi Xin Zhang Guang Yang En-Qiang Qin | 2020 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,29: | 5
Emodin Inhibits Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammation by Activating Autophagy in RAW 264.7 Cells显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effects of emodin on inflammation and autophagy in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages and reveal its underlying mechanism.Methods:3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2 H-tetrazolium(MTS)assay was conducted to find the appropriate dose for emodin.RAW264.7 cells pretreated with different concentrations(0–50μmol/L)of emodin or vehicle for 2 h prior to exposure to LPS for 16 h.Cell morphology was examined and propidium iodide staining was used to examine cell cycle.Expressions of inflammation-related proteins[nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)and I-kappa B(IκB)α]and autophagy-related proteins[light chain(LC)3,P62/sequestosome 1,mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR),and p-m TOR]were examined using Western blot analysis.Expression of inflammation-related cytokines including tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin(IL)-1βand IL-6 were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Autophagy was examined with LC3 B fluorescence intensity and aggregation. The effect of emodin on autophagy was conducted with an autophagy inhibitor,3-methyladenine(3-MA).Results:The expression of NF-κB in LPS-induced cells was significantly increased(P<0.01)and simultaneously IκBαdecreased compared with the normal cell(P<0.05).The expressions of TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6 proteins in the LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells were significantly higher than in the normal cell(P<0.05 or P<0.01).LPS increased the percentage of cells in the G0/G1 phase, which was recovered by emodin at different doses(12.5,25,and 50μmol/L,P<0.05 or P<0.01).The mediumdose(25μml/L)emodin decreased the expressions of NF-κB,P62 and p-m TOR(P<0.01)and increased IκBαexpression,LC3 BⅡ/Ⅰratio as well as LC3 B fluorescence intensity(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Meanwhile,the enhanced autophagic effects of emodin, such as the increment of LC3 BⅡ/ratio and the decrement of P62 expression, were suppressed by autophagy inhibitor 3-MA.Conclusion:Emodin could inhibit inflammation of mice RAW264.7 macrophages induced by LPS,possibly through activating autophagy. | TU Yan-jie TAN Bo JIANG Lei WU Zhong-hua YU Hong-ji LI Xiao-qian YANG Ai-dong | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,5: | 4
