2Electron-phonon coupling-assisted universal red luminescence of o-phenylenediamine-based carbon dots显示文摘Due to the complex core-shell structure and variety of surface functional groups,the photoluminescence(PL)mechanism of carbon dots(CDs)remain unclear.o-Phenylenediamine(oPD),as one of the most common precursors for preparing red emissive CDs,has been extensively studied.Interestingly,most of the red emission CDs based on oPD have similar PL emission characteristics.Herein,we prepared six different oPD-based CDs and found that they had almost the same PL emission and absorption spectra after purifiication.Structural and spectral characterization indicated that they had similar carbon core structures but diffferent surface polymer shells.Furthermore,single-molecule PL spectroscopy confirmed that the multi-modal emission of those CDs originated from the transitions of different vibrational energy levels of the same PL center in the carbon core.In addition,the phenomenon of'spectral splitting'of single-particle CDs was observed at low temperature,which confirmed these oPD-based CDs were unique materials with properties of both organic molecules and quantum dots.Finally,theoretical calculations revealed their potential polymerization mode and carbon core structure.Moreover,we proposed the PL mechanism of red-emitting CDs based on oPD precursors;that is,the carbon core regulates the PL emission,and the polymer shell regulates the PL intensity.Our work resolves the controversy on the PL mechanism of oPD-based red CDs.These findings provide a general guide for the mechanism exploration and structural analysis of other types of CDs.Boyang Wang Zhihong Wei Laizhi Sui Jingkun Yu Baowei Zhang Xiaoyong Wang Shengnan Feng Haoqiang Song Xue Yong Yuxi Tian Bai Yang Siyu Lu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,7:2

4High-accuracy source-independent radiometric calibration with low complexity for infrared photonic sensors显示文摘Radiometric calibration(RC)is an essential solution to guarantee measurements from infrared photonic sensors with certain accuracy,the main task of which is to determine the radiometric responsivity of sensor and usually be solved by comparing with some radiation source(i.e.,blackbody),called source-based RC(SBRC).In addition to the complexity in manufacture,the nonideal characteristics of an available source will inevitably introduce unexpected uncertainties to reduce the final calibration accuracy by around 0.2–0.5 K in SBRC.Therefore,we propose an original source-independent RC(SIRC)principle based on modeling instead of comparing for SBRC,where the incident background radiation to detector,as a dominated factor influencing the responsivity characteristics of a photonic sensor,is modeled to implement RC for both two fundamental types(photoconductive and photovoltaic)of HgCdTe photonic detectors.The SIRC merely requires the temperature information of main components of a sensor other than some complex source and its assembly,and provides a traceable way at lower uncertainty costs relative to the traditional SBRC.The SIRC is being implemented in Fengyun-2 satellites since 2019,which ensures a long-term stable service of Chinese geostationary meteorological satellites for the global observation system under the framework of World Meteorological Organization.Moreover,a 20-year-period traceable Fengyun-2 dataset to be recalibrated with SIRC will benefit the further climate applications.Qiang Guo Fuchun Chen Xiangyang Li Boyang Chen Xin Wang Guilin Chen Caiying Wei 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,9:1
5Regions and Their Typical Paradigms for Soil and Water Conservation in China显示文摘China is experiencing conflicts between its large population and scarce arable land,and between a demand for high productivity and the severe soil erosion of arable land.Since 1949,China has committed to soil and water conservation(SWC),for which eight regions and 41 subregions have been developed to improve the environment and increase land productivity.To obtain information from the regional planning and strategies for SWC and to explore whether SWC practices simultaneously contribute to soil conservation,ecosystem functioning,and the livelihoods of local farmers,and to summarize the successful experiences of various SWC paradigms with distinct characteristics and mechanisms of soil erosion,this paper systematically presents seven SWC regions(excluding the Tibetan Plateau region)and 14 typical SWC paradigms,focusing on erosion mechanisms and the key challenges or issues in the seven regions as well as on the core problems,main objectives,key technologies,and the performance of the 14 typical paradigms.In summary,the 14 typical SWC paradigms successfully prevent and control local soil erosion,and have largely enhanced,or at least do not harm,the livelihoods of local farmers.However,there remain many challenges and issues on SWC and socioeconomic development that need to be addressed in the seven SWC regions.China,thus,still has a long way to go in successfully gaining the win-win objective of SWC and human aspects of development.DANG Xiaohu SUI Boyang GAO Siwen LIU Guobin WANG Tao WANG Bing NING Duihu BI Wei 2020Chinese Geographical Science2020,30,4:1
6Glycolytic potential enhanced by blockade of pyruvate influx into mitochondria sensitizes prostate cancer to detection and radiotherapy显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the effects of mitochondrial pyruvate carrier(MPC)blockade on the sensitivity of detection and radiotherapy of prostate cancer(PCa).Methods:We investigated glycolysis reprogramming and MPC changes in patients with PCa by using metabolic profiling,RNASeq,and tissue microarrays.Transient blockade of pyruvate influx into mitochondria was observed in cellular studies to detect its different effects on prostate carcinoma cells and benign prostate cells.Xenograft mouse models were injected with an MPC inhibitor to evaluate the sensitivity of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography with computed tomography and radiotherapy of PCa.Furthermore,the molecular mechanism of this different effect of transient blockage towards benign prostate cells and prostate cancer cells was studied in vitro.Results:MPC was elevated in PCa tissue compared with benign prostate tissue,but decreased during cancer progression.The transient blockade increased PCa cell proliferation while decreasing benign prostate cell proliferation,thus increasing the sensitivity of PCa cells to 18F-PET/CT(SUVavg,P=0.016;SUVmax,P=0.03)and radiotherapy(P<0.01).This differential effect of MPC on PCa and benign prostate cells was dependent on regulation by a VDAC1-MPC-mitochondrial homeostasis-glycolysis pathway.Conclusions:Blockade of pyruvate influx into mitochondria increased glycolysis levels in PCa but not in non-carcinoma prostate tissue.This transient blockage sensitized PCa to both detection and radiotherapy,thus indicating that glycolytic potential is a novel mechanism underlying PCa progression.The change in the mitochondrial pyruvate influx caused by transient MPC blockade provides a critical target for PCa diagnosis and treatment.Huan Xu Junyi Chen Zhi Cao Xi Chen Caihong Huang Jin Ji Yalong Xu Junfeng Jiang Yue Wang Guowang Xu Lina Zhou Jingyi He Xuedong Wei Jason Boyang Wu Zhong Wang Shancheng Ren Fubo Wang 2022Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,9:1
7Intercellular transfer of activated STING triggered by RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagy promotes antitumor immunity显示文摘STING,an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)transmembrane protein,mediates innate immune activation upon cGAMP stimulation and is degraded through autophagy.Here,we report that activated STING could be transferred between cells to promote antitumor immunity,a process triggered by RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagy.Mechanistically,RAB22A engages PI4K2A to generate PI4P that recruits the Atg12–Atg5–Atg16L1 complex,inducing the formation of ER-derived RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagosome,in which STING activated by agonists or chemoradiotherapy is packaged.This RAB22A-induced autophagosome fuses with RAB22A-positive early endosome,generating a new organelle that we name Rafeesome(RAB22A-mediated non-canonical autophagosome fused with early endosome).Meanwhile,RAB22A inactivates RAB7 to suppress the fusion of Rafeesome with lysosome,thereby enabling the secretion of the inner vesicle of the autophagosome bearing activated STING as a new type of extracellular vesicle that we define as R-EV(RAB22A-induced extracellular vesicle).Activated STING-containing R-EVs induce IFNβrelease from recipient cells to the tumor microenvironment,promoting antitumor immunity.Consistently,RAB22A enhances the antitumor effect of the STING agonist diABZI in mice,and a high RAB22A level predicts good survival in nasopharyngeal cancer patients treated with chemoradiotherapy.Our findings reveal that Rafeesome regulates the intercellular transfer of activated STING to trigger and spread antitumor immunity,and that the inner vesicle of non-canonical autophagosome originated from ER is secreted as R-EV,providing a new perspective for understanding the intercellular communication of organelle membrane proteins.Ying Gao Xueping Zheng Boyang Chang Yujie Lin Xiaodan Huang Wen Wang Shirong Ding Weixiang Zhan Shang Wang Beibei Xiao Lanqing Huo Youhui Yu Yilin Chen Run Gong Yuanzhong Wu Ruhua Zhang Li Zhong Xin Wang Qiuyan Chen Song Gao Zhengfan Jiang Denghui Wei Tiebang Kang 2022Cell Research2022,32,12:1

9Generation and Selection of Driver-Behavior-Based Transferable MotionPrimitives显示文摘To integrate driver experience and heterogeneous vehicle platform characteristics in a motion-planning algorithm,based on the driver-behavior-based transferable motion primitives(MPs), a general motion-planning framework for offline generation and online selection of MPs is proposed. Optimal control theory is applied to solve the boundary value problems in the process of generating MPs, where the driver behaviors and the vehicle motion characteristics are integrated into the optimization in the form of constraints. Moreover, a layered, unequal-weighted MP selection framework is proposed that utilizes a combination of environmental constraints, nonholonomic vehicle constraints,trajectory smoothness, and collision risk as the single-step extension evaluation index. The library of MPs generated offline demonstrates that the proposed generation method realizes the effective expansion of MP types and achieves diverse generation of MPs with various velocity attributes and platform types. We also present how the MP selection algorithm utilizes a unique MP library to achieve online extension of MP sequences. 10The tumor-enriched small molecule gambogic amide suppresses glioma by targeting WDR1-dependent cytoskeleton remodeling显示文摘Glioma is the most prevalent brain tumor,presenting with limited treatment options,while patients with malignant glioma and glioblastoma(GBM)have poor prognoses.The physical obstacle to drug delivery imposed by the blood‒brain barrier(BBB)and glioma stem cells(GSCs),which are widely recognized as crucial elements contributing to the unsatisfactory clinical outcomes.In this study,we found a small molecule,gambogic amide(GA-amide),exhibited the ability to effectively penetrate the blood-brain barrier(BBB)and displayed a notable enrichment within the tumor region.Moreover,GA-amide exhibited significant efficacy in inhibiting tumor growth across various in vivo glioma models,encompassing transgenic and primary patient-derived xenograft(PDX)models.We further performed a genome-wide clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)knockout screen to determine the druggable target of GA-amide.By the combination of the cellular thermal shift assay(CETSA),the drug affinity responsive target stability(DARTS)approach,molecular docking simulation and surface plasmon resonance(SPR)analysis,WD repeat domain 1(WDR1)was identified as the direct binding target of GA-amide.Through direct interaction with WDR1,GA-amide promoted the formation of a complex involving WDR1,MYH9 and Cofilin,which accelerate the depolymerization of F-actin to inhibit the invasion of patient-derived glioma cells(PDCs)and induce PDC apoptosis via the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.In conclusion,our study not only identified GA-amide as an effective and safe agent for treating glioma but also shed light on the underlying mechanisms of GA-amide from the perspective of cytoskeletal homeostasis.Jiaorong Qu Bojun Qiu Yuxin Zhang Yan Hu Zhixing Wang Zhiang Guan Yiming Qin Tongtong Sui Fan Wu Boyang Li Wei Han Xiaozhong Peng 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,12:0

12Effect of Different Drying Processes on Active Ingredients of Rheum officinale Baill.显示文摘[Objectives]To determine the drying process of different functional rhubarbs.[Methods]The contents of tannins,bianthrone,free anthraquinones and combined anthraquinones in medicinal rhubarb were determined by HPLC.The results were analyzed by two-way analysis of variance.[Results]Under different drying conditions,the contents of tannins,bianthrone,free anthraquinones and combined anthraquinones in medicinal rhubarb were significantly different.Taking the tannins content as the index,the optimum drying condition of the rhizome is 1 cm thick,dried at 60℃,the root is cut 1 cm thick,and dried at 30℃;the bianthrone content is used as an indicator,the rhizome is optimally dried.The condition is to cut 1 cm thick,dry at 60℃,the root is cut to 5 cm thick,and dried at 40℃;the free anthraquinones content is used as an index,and the optimum drying condition of the rhizome is 3 cm thick and dried at 50℃.The root is cut to a thickness of 3 cm and dried at 30℃.The combine anthraquinones content is used as an indicator.The optimum drying conditions for the rhizome are 5 cm thick,dried at 40℃,and the root is cut to 5 cm thick and dried at 70℃.[Conclusions]Different functional components of rhubarb have different directional processing methods.The drying process can reduce the drying temperature or increase the thickness of the slice,and the directional processing of the diarrhea-type rhubarb can be processed.The drying process can be carried out by increasing the drying temperature or reducing the thickness of the slice directed processing of heat-clearing and purging-fire rhubarb.Yiming DING Tong SHANG Yue SHI Boyang PENG Ting ZHAO Yuan ZHANG Li LI Shengli WEI 2020Medicinal Plant2020,11,6:0
13Effects of local matrix environment on the spectroscopic properties of ensemble to single-particle level carbon dots显示文摘Carbon dots(CDs), because of their unique properties, are being rapidly developed as important luminescent materials for imaging, sensing, and use in photonic devices. However, most of the reported fundamental properties of the CDs are results of investigations conducted in the solution state, which may be completely different from those conducted in the solid state. In this work, we study the luminescence properties, photostability, and the dynamics of CDs in different matrix environments, from ensemble to the single-particle level. We observed that the properties associated with the emission centers and photostability of CDs were extremely sensitive to the local chemical environment. 14The effect of controllable train-tail devices on the longitudinal impulse of the combined trains under initial braking显示文摘The 20,000-ton combined train running has greatly promoted China’s heavy-haul railway transportation capability. The application of controllable train-tail devices could improve the braking wave of the train and braking synchronism, and alleviate longitudinal impulse.However, the characteristics of the controllable train-tail device such as exhaust area, exhaust duration and exhaust action time are not uniform in practice, and their effects on the longitudinal impulse of the train are not apparent,which is worth studying. In this work, according to the formation of the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, the train air brake and longitudinal dynamics simulation system(TABLDSS) is applied to establish a 20,000-ton combined train model with the controllable train-tail device, and the braking characteristics and the longitudinal impulse of the train are calculated synchronously with changing the air exhaust time, exhaust area, and action lag time under initial braking. The results show that the maximum coupler force of the combined train will decrease with the extension of the continuous exhaust time, while the total exhaust time of the controllable train-tail device remains unchanged;the maximum coupler force of the combined train reduces by32.5% with the exhaust area increasing from 70% to 140%;when the lag time between the controllable train-tail device and the master locomotive is more than 1.5 s, the maximum coupler force of the train increases along with the time difference enlargement.Yuan Zhang Wei Wei Boyang Liu Jun Zhang Jichao Zhu 2023Railway Engineering Science2023,31,2:0
15Tumor necrosis factor-stimulated gene-6 ameliorates early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage by suppressing NLRC4 inflammasome-mediated astrocyte pyroptosis显示文摘Subarachnoid hemorrhage is associated with high morbidity and mortality and lacks effective treatment.Pyroptosis is a crucial mechanism underlying early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage.Previous studies have confirmed that tumor necrosis factor-stimulated gene-6(TSG-6)can exert a neuroprotective effect by suppressing oxidative stress and apoptosis.However,no study to date has explored whether TSG-6 can alleviate pyroptosis in early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage.In this study,a C57BL/6J mouse model of subarachnoid hemorrhage was established using the endovascular perforation method.Our results indicated that TSG-6 expression was predominantly detected in astrocytes,along with NLRC4 and gasdermin-D(GSDMD).The expression of NLRC4,GSDMD and its N-terminal domain(GSDMD-N),and cleaved caspase-1 was significantly enhanced after subarachnoid hemorrhage and accompanied by brain edema and neurological impairment.To explore how TSG-6 affects pyroptosis during early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage,recombinant human TSG-6 or a siRNA targeting TSG-6 was injected into the cerebral ventricles.Exogenous TSG-6 administration downregulated the expression of NLRC4 and pyroptosis-associated proteins and alleviated brain edema and neurological deficits.Moreover,TSG-6 knockdown further increased the expression of NLRC4,which was accompanied by more severe astrocyte pyroptosis.In summary,our study revealed that TSG-6 provides neuroprotection against early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage by suppressing NLRC4 inflammasome activation-induced astrocyte pyroptosis.Mingxiang Ding Lei Jin Boyang Wei Wenping Cheng Wenchao Liu Xifeng Li Chuanzhi Duan 2024Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,5:0
16Interactions between soil conservation and dryland farming of heterogeneously eroding areas in Loess Hills,China显示文摘The unidirectional impacts of soil conservation on dryland farming and local livelihood have been well studied.However,there are gaps in literature regarding the interactions among factors,such as labor force and financial capital,in response to soil conservation,as well as the influence of such interactions on the relationships between environmental projects and agricultural development.By combining the Chinese Soil Loss Equation(CSLE)model and statistical analyses,this study investigated the spatiotemporal characteristics of soil erosion while also identifying the controlling factors that affect crop and livestock farming.The aim was to reveal how these factors interacted to influence agriculture in two case study areas between 2000 and 2017.The results showed that soil erosion substantially declined as a consequence of soil conservation,while the output from crop farming increased,indicating that there was a synergy between soil conservation and dryland farming in both the districts,over time;and factors facilitating crop farming,such as labor force,agricultural machinery,and irrigation,appeared to exert an adverse effect on livestock farming in both areas,implying a tradeoff between livestock and crop farming in the context of programs such as the Grain for Green Program(GGP)in the Loess Hills.Such a tradeoff is a result of the competition for cropland and labor that exists due to grazing prohibition and rural-urban migration.Therefore,policy-related resolutions are required to address the land use conflicts and migration-related rural labor losing due to implementation of the GGP in the Loess Hills.Boyang Sui Xiaohu Dang Liangxin Fan Bo Guo Wei Bi Guobin Liu 2022International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,4:0
17Coordination-driven structure reconstruction in polymer of intrinsic microporosity membranes for efficient propylene/propane separation显示文摘Polymers of intrinsic microporosity(PIMs),integrating unique microporous structure and solution-processability,are one class of the most promising membrane materials for energy-efficient gas separations.However,the micropores generated from inefficient chain packing often exhibit wide pore size distribution,making it very challenging to achieve efficient olefin/paraffin separations.Here,we propose a coordination-driven reconstruction(CDR)strategy,where metal ions are incorporated into amidoxime-functionalized PIM-1(AO-PIM)to in situ generate coordination crosslinking networks.By varying the type and content of metal ions,the resulting crosslinking structures can be optimized,and the molecular sieving capability of PIM membranes can be dramatically enhanced.Particularly,the introduction of alkali or alkaline earth metals renders more precise micropores contributing to superior C3H6/C3H8 separation performance.K+incorporated AO-PIM membranes exhibit a high ideal C3H6/C3H8 selectivity of 50,surpassing almost all the reported polymer membranes.Moreover,the coordination crosslinking structure significantly improves the membrane stability under higher pressure as well as the plasticization resistant performance.We envision that this straightforward and generic CDR strategy could potentially unlock the potentials of PIMs for olefin/paraffin separations and many other challenging gas separations.Yanxiong Ren Boyang Chong Wei Xu Zhengqing Zhang Lin Liu Yingzhen Wu Yutao Liu Haifei Jiang Xu Liang Hong Wu Hongjun Zhang Bangjiao Ye Chongli Zhong Guangwei He Zhongyi Jiang 2022The Innovation2022,3,6:0
18Modular Synthesis of Tetraurea and Octaurea Macrocycles Encoded with Specific Monomer Sequences显示文摘Intermolecular hydrogen bonding among urea units grants prominent mechanical strength to polyurea elastomer materials.However,such interactions can cause significant solubility problems when synthesizing oligourea macrocycles with a large number of urea units,and it remains unknown for macrocycles containing more than six urea units.Here,we demonstrate a two-step,modular strategy for making a new class of tetraurea and octaurea macrocycles using commercially available building blocks.Intramolecular hydrogen bonding within the fundamental o-phenylene bis(urea)unit is the key to overcoming intermolecular hydrogen bonding to form favorable conformations for ring-closure reactions.The size and monomer sequences can be controlled by varying the flexibility of the spacers.Rigid diphenyl methylene and diphenyl ether linkers selectively afford tetraurea macrocycles,whereas the flexible hexylene linker produces octaurea macrocycles.Macrocycles encoded with two different spacers were also made.All these macrocycles are confirmed by X-ray diffraction structural analysis of the complexed forms with sulfate anions.Interestingly,a unique“figure-eight”structure is observed for the complex of MUH octaurea macrocycle with two encapsulated sulfate anions.Our study shows a paradigm of making large oligourea macrocycles with designer properties in a programable manner with tunable monomer sequences.Guowei Zhao Si-Qi Chen Wei Zhao Boyang Li Wenyao Zhang Bo Zheng Xiao-Juan Yang Biao Wu 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,7:0
