1Searching for the Nano-Hertz Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background with the Chinese Pulsar Timing Array Data ReleaseⅠ显示文摘Observing and timing a group of millisecond pulsars with high rotational stability enables the direct detection of gravitational waves(GWs).The GW signals can be identified from the spatial correlations encoded in the times-of-arrival of widely spaced pulsar-pairs.The Chinese Pulsar Timing Array(CPTA)is a collaboration aiming at the direct GW detection with observations carried out using Chinese radio telescopes.This short article serves as a“table of contents”for a forthcoming series of papers related to the CPTA Data Release 1(CPTA DR1)which uses observations from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope.Here,after summarizing the time span and accuracy of CPTA DR1,we report the key results of our statistical inference finding a correlated signal with amplitude logA_(c)=-14.4_(-2.8)^(+1.0)for spectral index in the range ofα∈[-1.8,1.5]assuming a GW background(GWB)induced quadrupolar correlation.The search for the Hellings–Downs(HD)correlation curve is also presented,where some evidence for the HD correlation has been found that a 4.6σstatistical significance is achieved using the discrete frequency method around the frequency of 14 n Hz.We expect that the future International Pulsar Timing Array data analysis and the next CPTA data release will be more sensitive to the n Hz GWB,which could verify the current results.Heng Xu Siyuan Chen Yanjun Guo Jinchen Jiang Bojun Wang Jiangwei Xu Zihan Xue RNicolas Caballero Jianping Yuan Yonghua Xu Jingbo Wang Longfei Hao Jingtao Luo Kejia Lee Jinlin Han Peng Jiang Zhiqiang Shen Min Wang Na Wang Renxin Xu Xiangping Wu Richard Manchester Lei Qian Xin Guan Menglin Huang Chun Sun Yan Zhu 2023Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,7:3
2DASP: Defect and Dopant ab-initio Simulation Package显示文摘In order to perform automated calculations of defect and dopant properties in semiconductors and insulators, we developed a software package, the Defect and Dopant ab-initio Simulation Package(DASP), which is composed of four modules for calculating:(ⅰ) elemental chemical potentials,(ⅱ) defect(dopant) formation energies and charge-state transition levels,(ⅲ) defect and carrier densities and(ⅳ) carrier dynamics properties of high-density defects. DASP uses the materials genome database for quick determination of competing secondary phases when calculating the elemental chemical potential that stabilizes compound semiconductors. DASP calls the ab-initio software to perform the total energy, structural relaxation and electronic structure calculations of the defect supercells with different charge states, based on which the defect formation energies and charge-state transition levels are calculated. Then DASP can calculate the equilibrium densities of defects and electron and hole carriers as well as the Fermi level in semiconductors under different chemical potential conditions and growth/working temperature. For high-density defects, DASP can calculate the carrier dynamics properties such as the photoluminescence(PL) spectrum and carrier capture cross sections which can interpret the deep level transient spectroscopy(DLTS). 3Mining Typical Treatment Duration Patterns for Rational Drug Use from Electronic Medical Records显示文摘Rational drug use requires that patients receive medications for an adequate period of time.The adequate duration time of medications not only improve the therapeutic effect of medicines,but also reduce the side effects and adverse reactions of medicines.This paper proposes a data-driven method to mine typical treatment duration patterns for rational drug use from electronic medical records (EMRs).Firstly,a quintuple is defined to describe drug use duration statistics (DUDS) for each drug and treatment record is further represented with DUDS vector (DUDSV).Next a similarity measure method is adopted to compute the similarity between treatment records.Meanwhile,a clustering algorithm is used to cluster all patient treatment records to extract typical treatment duration patterns including typical drug sets,effective drug use day sets,and the DUDSs of each typical drug.Then the extracted typical treatment duration patterns are evaluated and annotated based on patients' demographic information,disease severity scores,treatment outcome and diagnostic information.Finally,a real-world EMR dataset is performed to indicate that the approach we proposed can effectively mine typical treatment duration patterns from EMRs and recommend the appropriate treatment regimens for patients based on their admission information.Jingfeng Chen Chonghui Guo Leilei Sun Menglin Lu 2019Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2019,28,5:2

5Surface molecular imprinting on g-C3N4 photooxidative nanozyme for improved colorimetric biosensing显示文摘Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3 N4),as a visible-light-active organic semiconductor,has attracted growing attentions in photocatalysis and photoluminescence-based biosensing.Here,we demonstrated the intrinsic photooxidase activity of g-C3 N4 and then surface molecular imprinting on g-C3 N4 nanozymes was achieved for improved biosensing.Upon blue LED irradiation,the g-C3 N4 exhibited superior enzymatic activity for oxidation of chromogenic substrate like 3,3’,5,5’-tetramethylbenzidine(TMB)without destructive H2 O2.The oxidation was mainly ascribed to ·O2^-that was generated during light irradiation.The surface molecular imprinting on g-C3 N4 can lead to an over 1000-fold alleviation in matrix-interference from serum samples,4-fold improved enzymatic activity as well as enhanced substrate specificity comparing with bare g-C3 N4 during colorimetric sensing.Also,the MIP-g-C3 N4 possesses a high affinity to TMB with a Km value of only 22 μmol/L,much lower than other comment nanozymes like AuNPs,Fe3 O4 NPs,etc.It was successfully applied for detection of cysteine in serum sample with satisfactory recoveries.Yuanheng Wu Qiang Chen Shuang Liu Hua Xiao Menglin Zhang Xinfeng Zhang 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,12:2
6Seismic response control with density-variable tuned liquid dampers显示文摘In this paper,the seismic effectiveness of a density-variable tuned liquid damper(DVTLD) with a sloping bottom is experimentally investigated through a series of shake table tests on a 1/4-scale,3-story frame structure and numerically simulated by a new semi-analytical model.Special attention was given to reducing the fi rst peak and maximum response under near-and far-fi eld ground motions,and the robustness of a density-variable control system consisting of multiple DVTLDs with closely-spaced frequencies.Adaptable to earthquake excitations,the density-variable control system has been demonstrated to be more effective and more robust than its corresponding traditional tuned liquid damper in suppressing story drift and floor acceleration of the structure.Numerical simulations of the DVTLD-controlled structure agreed very well in phase with experimental results but somewhat overestimated the amplitude of the structural response.Yuxiang Xin Genda Chen Lou Menglin 2009Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2009,8,4:2

14First-principles exploration of defect-pairs in GaN显示文摘Using first-principles calculations,we explored all the 21 defect-pairs in GaN and considered 6 configurations with different defect-defect distances for each defect-pair.15 defect-pairs with short defect–defect distances are found to be stable during structural relaxation,so they can exist in the GaN lattice once formed during the irradiation of high-energy particles.9 defect-pairs have formation energies lower than 10 eV in the neutral state.The vacancy-pair VN–VN is found to have very low formation energies,as low as 0 eV in p-type and Ga-rich GaN,and act as efficient donors producing two deep donor levels,which can limit the p-type doping and minority carrier lifetime in GaN.VN–VN has been overlooked in the previous study of defects in GaN.Most of these defect-pairs act as donors and produce a large number of defect levels in the band gap.Their formation energies and concentrations are sensitive to the chemical potentials of Ga and N,so their influences on the electrical and optical properties of Ga-rich and N-rich GaN after irradiation should differ significantly.These results about the defect-pairs provide fundamental data for understanding the radiation damage mechanism in GaN and simulating the defect formation and diffusion behavior under irradiation.He Li Menglin Huang Shiyou Chen 2020Journal of Semiconductors2020,41,3:1

17Emerging wet electrohydrodynamic approaches for versatile bioactive 3D interfaces显示文摘There is a compelling need for delicate nanomaterial design with various intricate functions and applications.Electrohydrodynamics applies electrostatic force to overcome the surface tension of a liquid jet,shrinking the jet through intrinsic jetting instabiity into submicron fibers or spheres,with versatilty from a huge selection of materials,feasibllity of extracellular matrix structure mimicry and multicompartmentalization for tissue engineering and drug delivery.The process typically involves the collection and drying of fibers at a solid substrate,but the introduction of a liquid phase collection by replacing the solid collector with a coagulation bath can introduce a variety of new opportunities for both chemical and physical functionalizations in one single step.The so-called wet electrohydrodynamics is an emerging technique that enables a facile,homogeneous functionalization of the intrinsic large surface area of the submicron fibers/spheres.With a thorough literature sweep,we herein highlight the three main engineering features integrated through the single step wet electrospinning process in terms of creating functional biomaterials:(i)The fabrication of 3D macrostructures,(ii)in situ chemical functionalization,and(iii)tunable nano-topography.Through an emerging technique,wet electrohydrodynamics has demonstrated a great potential in interdisciplinary research for the development of functional 3D interfaces and materials with pertinent applications in all fields where secondary structured,functional surface is desired.Among these,engineered biomaterials bridging materials science with biology have already shown particular potential..Mehmet Berat Taskin Lasse Hyldgaard Klausen Mingdong Dong Menglin Chen 2020Nano Research2020,13,2:1
18SDCBP-AS1 destabilizesβ-catenin by regulating ubiquitination and SUMOylation of hnRNP K to suppress gastric tumorigenicity and metastasis显示文摘Background:Gastric cancer(GC)is among the most malignant tumors,yet the pathogenesis is not fully understood,especially the lack of detailed information about the mechanisms underlying long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)-mediated post-translational modifications.Here,the molecular mechanisms and clinical significance of the novel lncRNA syndecan-binding protein 2-antisense RNA 1(SDCBP2-AS1)in the tumorigenesis and progression of GC were investigated.Methods:The expression levels of SDCBP2-AS1 in 132 pairs of GC and adjacent normal tissues were compared,and the biological functions were assessed in vitro and in vivo.RNA pull-down and immunoprecipitation assays were conducted to clarify the interactions of SDCBP2-AS1 and heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein(hnRNP)K.RNA-sequencing,immunoprecipitation,immunofluorescence,and luciferase analyses were performed to investigate the functions of SDCBP2-AS1.Results:SDCBP2-AS1 was significantly downregulated in GC tissues and pre-dictive of poor patient prognosis.Silencing of SDCBP2-AS1 promoted the proliferation and migration of GC cells both in vitro and in vivo.Mechanically,SDCBP2-AS1 physically bound to hnRNP K to repress SUMOylation of hnRNP K and facilitated ubiquitination of hnRNP K andβ-catenin,thereby promoting the degradation ofβ-catenin in the cytoplasm.Silencing of SDCBP2-AS1 caused SUMOylation of hnRNP K and stabilizedβ-catenin activity,which altered tran-scription of downstream genes,resulting in tumorigenesis and metastasis of GC.Moreover,the knockdown of hnRNP K partially abrogated the effects of SDCBP2-AS1.Conclusions:SDCBP2-AS1 interacts with hnRNP K to suppress tumorigenesis and metastasis of GC and regulates post-transcriptional modifications of hnRNP K to destabilizeβ-catenin.These findings suggest SDCBP2-AS1 as a potential target for the treatment of GC.Jing Han Menglin Nie Cong Chen Xiaojing Cheng Ting Guo Longtao Huangfu Xiaomei Li Hong Du Xiaofang Xing Jiafu Ji 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,11:1
19Relaxin-encapsulated polymeric metformin nanoparticles remodel tumor immune microenvironment by reducing CAFs for efficient triple-negative breast cancer immunotherapy显示文摘Cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)are one of the most abundant stromal cells in the tumor microenvironment which mediate desmoplastic response and are the primary driver for an immunosuppressive microenvironment,leading to the failure of triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)immunotherapy.Therefore,depleting CAFs may enhance the effect of immunotherapy(such as PD-L1 antibody).Relaxin(RLN)has been demonstrated to significantly improve transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)induced CAFs activation and tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment.However,the short half-life and systemic vasodilation of RLN limit its in vivo efficacy.Here,plasmid encoding relaxin(pRLN)to locally express RLN was delivered with a new positively charged polymer named polymeric metformin(PolyMet),which could increase gene transfer efficiency significantly and have low toxicity that have been certified by our lab before.In order to improve the stability of pRLN in vivo,this complex was further formed lipid poly-γ-glutamic acid(PGA)/PolyMetpRLN nanoparticle(LPPR).The particle size of LPPR was 205.5±2.9 nm,and the zeta potential was+55.4±1.6 mV.LPPR displayed excellent tumor penetrating efficacy and weaken proliferation of CAFs in 4T1luc/CAFs tumor spheres in vitro.In vivo,it could reverse aberrantly activated CAFs by decreasing the expression of profibrogenic cytokine and remove the physical barrier to reshape the tumor stromal microenvironment,which enabled a 2.2-fold increase in cytotoxic T cell infiltration within the tumor and a decrease in immunosuppressive cells infiltration.Thus,LPPR was observed retarded tumor growth by itself in the 4T1 tumor bearing-mouse,and the reshaped immune microenvironment further led to facilitate antitumor effect when it combined with PD-L1 antibody(aPD-L1).Altogether,this study presented a novel therapeutic approach against tumor stroma using LPPR to achieve a combination regimen with immune checkpoint blockade therapy against the desmoplastic TNBC model.Hongyan Zhang Liying Chen Yue Zhao Ningchao Luo Jingbin Shi Shujun Xu Lisha Ma Menglin Wang Mancang Gu Chaofeng Mu Yang Xiong 2023Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2023,18,2:1
20Ultrasensitive quantification of trace amines based on N-phosphorylation labeling chip 2D LC-QQQ/MS显示文摘Trace amines(TAs)are metabolically related to catecholamine and associated with cancer and neurological disorders.Comprehensive measurement of TAs is essential for understanding pathological processes and providing proper drug intervention.However,the trace amounts and chemical instability of TAs challenge quantification.Here,diisopropyl phosphite coupled with chip two-dimensional(2D)liquid chromatography tandem triple-quadrupole mass spectrometry(LC-QQQ/MS)was developed to simultaneously determine TAs and associated metabolites.The results showed that the sensitivities of TAs increased up to 5520 times compared with those using nonderivatized LC-QQQ/MS.This sensitive method was utilized to investigate their alterations in hepatoma cells after treatment with sorafenib.The significantly altered TAs and associated metabolites suggested that phenylalanine and tyrosine metabolic pathways were related to sorafenib treatment in Hep3B cells.This sensitive method has great potential to elucidate the mechanism and diagnose diseases considering that an increasing number of physiological functions of TAs have been discovered in recent decades.Xiqing Bian Yida Zhang Na Li Menglin Shi Xiaolin Chen Hui-Lu Zhang Jie Liu Jian-Lin Wu 2023Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,3:0
