| 1 | Response of a hypersonic blunt cone boundary layer to slow acoustic waves with assessment of various routes of receptivity显示文摘The hypersonic boundary-layer receptivity to slow acoustic waves is investigated for the Mach 6 flow over a 5-degree half-angle blunt cone with the nose radius of 5.08 mm. The plane acoustic wave interacts with the bow shock, and generates all types of disturbances behind the shock, which may take various routes to generate the boundarylayer unstable mode. In this paper, two routes of receptivity are investigated in detail.One is through the disturbance in the entropy layer. The other is through the slow acoustic wave transmitted downstream the bow shock, which can excite the boundary-layer mode due to the synchronization mechanism. The results show that, for a low frequency slow acoustic wave, the latter route plays a leading role. | 2 | Hierarchically porous carbon derived from natural Porphyra for excellent electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘A highly efficient absorber with features including lightweight, broad bandwidth, and tunable electromagnetic property still remains challenging for practical applications. Herein, the Porphyra-derived porous carbon(PPC) was fabricated via facile procedures of low-temperature pre-carbonization combined with KOH chemical activation. The composition, microstructure, and electromagnetic wave absorption properties of the samples were elucidated based on X-ray diffraction(XRD), Raman, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Brunauer-Emmer-Teller(BET), and vector network analyzer(VNA). The porosity of PPC can be readily regulated by adjusting activation temperature. The PPC obtained at 750 ℃ was composed of a threedimensional hierarchically porous carbon network. The C and N elements of natural Porphyra were introduced into the carbon skeleton during the carbonization process. The large specific surface, dopants, and three-dimensional hierarchically porous carbon network can effectively improve the impedance matching and dielectric dissipation, leading to an excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance. Especially, the optimal reflection loss(RL) value reached –57.75 d B at 9.68 GHz with a broad bandwidth(RL< –10 d B) value of 7.60 GHz at 3.5 mm. | 3 | Dihydromyricetin promotes apoptosis, suppresses proliferation and tumor necrosis factor-α-mediated nuclear factor kappa-B activation in nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE-2 cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy of dihydromyricetin(DMY) on nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) cell proliferation, apoptosis and to reveal the underlying mechanism in vitro experiments.METHODS: The CNE-2 cell line was treated with different concentrations of DMY and the effects of DMY on cell viability and proliferation were evaluated using cell counting kit-8(CCK-8) assay and plate colony formation assay. Cellular apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry following Annexin V fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidine iodide staining.Nuclei morphology was observed under a fluorescence microscope following Hoechst 333258 staining. The expression of phosphorylated inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit beta(p-IKKβ), phosphorylated inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit alpha(p-IKKα), inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B alpha(IκB-α), nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)/p65 was examined by Western blot analysis and the nuclear translocation of NF-κB/p65 was observed using a confocal laser scanning microscopy.RESULTS: DMY inhibited the proliferative capability and colony formation of NPC CNE-2 cells. Meanwhile, DMY induced apoptosis of CNE-2 cells in a dose and time-dependent manner via upregulating B-cell lymphoma-2 associated X, but downregulating B-cell lymphoma-2 and pro-caspase-3. Importantly, we found that DMY suppressed tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)-mediated NF-κB activation via inhibiting p-IKKβ, p-IKKα and blocking NF-κB subunit p65.CONCLUSION: Our experiments demonstrated that DMY had significant antiproliferative and apoptosisinducing effects on CNE-2 cells. Additionally, DMY promoted inactivation of p-IKKβ, p-IKKα,and blocked the nuclear translocation of NF-κB subunit p65. | 4 | Photonic synapses with ultralow energy consumption for artificial visual perception and brain storage显示文摘The human visual system,dependent on retinal cells,can be regarded as a complex combination of optical system and nervous system.Artificial retinal system could mimic the sensing and processing function of human eyes.Optically stimulated synaptic devices could serve as the building blocks for artificial retinas and subsequent information transmission system to brain.Herein,photonic synaptic transistors based on polycrystalline MoS_(2),which could simulate human visual perception and brain storage,are presented.Moreover,the photodetection range from visible light to near-infrared light of MoS_(2) multilayer could extend human eyes’vision limitation to near-infrared light.Additionally,the photonic synaptic transistor shows an ultrafast speed within 5μs and ultralow power consumption under optical stimuli about 40 aJ,several orders of magnitude lower than biological synapses(50 ms and 10 fJ).Furthermore,the backgate control could act as emotional modulation of the artificial brain to enhance or suppress memory function,i.e.the intensity of photoresponse.The proposed carrier trapping/detrapping as the main working mechanism is presented for the device.In addition,synaptic functionalities including short synaptic plasticity,long synaptic plasticity and paired-pulse facilitation could be successfully simulated based on the prepared device.Furthermore,the large difference between short synaptic plasticity and long synaptic plasticity reveals the better image pre-processing function of the prepared photonic synapses.The classical Pavlovian conditioning associated with the associative learning is successfully implemented as well.Therefore,the efficient and rich functionalities demonstrate the potential of the MoS_(2) synaptic device that integrates sensing-memory-preprocessing capabilities for realizing artificial neural networks with different emotions that mimic human retina and brain. | Caihong Li Wen Du Yixuan Huang Jihua Zou Lingzhi Luo Song Sun Alexander OGovorov Jiang Wu Hongxing Xu Zhiming Wang | 2022 | Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,9: | 3 |
| 5 | Rho-Associated Kinase Inhibitors Promote Microglial Uptake Via the ERK Signaling Pathway显示文摘Microglia are immunocompetent cells in the central nervous system that take up tissue debris and pathogens.Rho-associated kinase(ROCK) has been identified as an important regulator of uptake, proliferation, secretion, and differentiation in a number of cell types. Although ROCK plays critical roles in the microglial secretion of inflammatory factors,migration, and morphology, its effects on microglial uptake activity have not been well characterized. In the present study,we found that treatment of BV2 microglia and primary microglia with the ROCK inhibitors Y27632 and fasudil increased uptake activity and was associated with morphological changes. | 6 | Upcycling of phosphogypsum waste for efficient zinc-ion batteries显示文摘Zinc metal is a promising anode material for next-generation aqueous batteries,but its practical application is limited by the formation of zinc dendrite.To prevent zinc dendrite growth,various Zn^(2+)-conducting but water-isolating solid-electrolyte interphase(SEI)films have been developed,however,the required high-purity chemical materials are extremely expensive.In this work,phosphogypsum(PG),an industrial byproduct produced from the phosphoric acid industry,is employed as a multifunctional protective layer to navigate uniform zinc deposition.Theoretical and experimental results demonstrate that PG-derived CaSO_(4)2H_(2)O can act as an artificial SEI layer to provide fast channels for Zn^(2+)transport.Moreover,CaSO_(4)2H_(2)O could release calcium ions(Ca^(2+))due to its relatively high Kspvalue,which have a higher binding energy than that of Zn^(2+)on the Zn surface,thus preferentially adsorbing to the tips of the protuberances to force zinc ions to nucleate at inert region.As a result,the Zn@PG anode achieves a high Coulombic efficiency of 99.5%during 500 cycles and long-time stability over 1000 hours at 1 m A cm^(-2).Our findings will not only construct a low-cost artificial SEI film for practical metal batteries,but also achieve a high-value utilization of phosphogypsum waste. | Huanwen Wang Can Luo Yinyin Qian Caihong Yang Xiaojun Shi Yansheng Gong Rui Wang Beibei He Jun Jin Aidong Tang Edison Huixiang Ang Huaming Yang | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,6: | 1 |

| 11 | Alantolactone inhibits proliferation,metastasis and promotes apoptosis of human osteosarcoma cells by suppressing Wnt/β-catenin and MAPKs signaling pathways显示文摘Although there are many therapeutic strategies such as surgery and chemotherapy,the prognosis of osteosarcoma(OS)is still far from being satisfactory.It is urgent to develop more effective,tolerable and safe drugs for the treatment of OS.In the present study,we investigated the anti-OS activity of Alantolactone(ALT),a natural eucalyptone sesquiterpene lactone mainly exists in Inula helenium,and probed the possible mechanism involved.We demonstrated that ALT significantly inhibited cell proliferation of various human OS cell lines while had relative lower cytotoxicity against normal cells.Then,we validated that ALT reduced migration,decreased invasion possibly through reversing epithelial mesenchymal transition(EMT)process and suppressing Matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs).Moreover,we confirmed that ALT promoted apoptosis and arrested cell cycle at G2/M phase of human OS cells in vitro.In addition,we confirmed that ALT restrained tumor growth and metastasis of OS 143 cells in a xenograft model in vivo.Mechanistically,ALT inhibited the activity of Wnt/β-catenin and p38,ERK1/2 and JNK Mitogen Activated Protein Kinases(MAPKs)signal pathway.Notably,the combination of ALT and Wnt/β-catenin inhibitor,as well as the combination of ALT and MAPKs inhibitors resulted in a synergistically effect on inhibiting the proliferation,migration and invasion of OS cells.Collectively,our results validate the ALT may inhibit proliferation,metastasis and promotes apoptosis of human OS cells possibly through suppressing Wnt/β-Catenin and MAPKs signaling pathways. | Chunmei Yang Lulu Zhang Huakun Huang Xiaohui Yuan Ping Zhang Caihong Ye Mengqi Wei Yanran Huang Xiaoji Luo Jinyong Luo | 2022 | Genes & Diseases2022,9,2: | 0 |
