| 1 | Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy With Segmental Renal Artery Clamping:Technique and Clinical Outcomes显示文摘Background:Warm ischemic injury is one of the most important factors affecting renal function in partial nephrectomy(PN).The technique of segmental renal artery clamping emerges as an alternative to conventional renal artery clamping for renal hilar control.Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency of laparoscopic PN(LPN) with segmental renal artery clamping in comparison with the conventional technique.Design,setting,and participants:A total of 75 patients underwent LPN from June 2007 to November 2009.All patients had T1a or T1b tumor in one kidney and a normal contralateral kidney.Thirty-seven patients underwent surgeries with main renal artery clamping,and 38 underwent surgeries with segmental artery clamping.Intervention:All procedures were performed by the same laparoscopic surgeon.Measurements:Blood loss,operation time,warm ischemia(WI) time,and complications affected renal function before and after operation were recorded.Results and limitations:All LPNs were completed without conversion to open surgery or nephrectomy.The novel technique slightly increased WI time(p < 0.001) and intraoperative blood loss(p = 0.006),while it provided better postoperative affected renal function(p < 0.001) compared with the conventional technique.The total complication rate was 12%.Among the 38 cases where segmental renal artery clamping was performed,7 had to convert to the conventional method.Tumor size and location influenced the number of clamped segmental arteries.Long-term postoperative renal function is still awaited.Conclusions:LPN with segmental artery clamping is safe and feasible in clinical practice.It minimizes the intraoperative WI injury and improves early postoperative affected renal function compared with main renal artery clamping.(C) 2010 European Association of Urology.Published by Elsevier B.V.All rights reserved. | Shao,P.F. | 2 | Yield and Nicotine Content of Flue-Cured Tobacco as Affected by Soil Nitrogen Mineralization显示文摘Nitrogen(N)supply is the most important factor affecting yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco(FCT).A field experiment and an in situ incubation method were used to study the effects of soil N mineralization in the later stages of growth on yield and nicotine content of FCT in Fenggang and Jinsha,Guizhou Province.The yield and market value of FCT at Fenggang were much lower than those at Jinsha.However,the nicotine content of middle and upper leaves was much higher at Fenggang than at Jinsha when the same rate of fertilizer N was applied,which might be due to a higher N supply capacity at the Fenggang site.At later stages of growth(7-16 weeks after transplanting),the soil net N mineralization at Fenggang(56 kg N ha^(-1))was almost double that at Jinsha(30 kg N ha^(-1)).While soil NH_4-N and NO_3-N were almost exhausted by the plants or leached 5 weeks after transplanting,the N taken up at the later growth stages at Fenggang were mainly derived from soil N mineralization,which contributed to a high nicotine content in the upper leaves.The order of soil N contribution to N buildup in different leaves was:upper leaves>middle leaves>lower leaves.Thus,soil N mineralization at late growth stages was an important factor affecting N accumulation and therefore the nicotine content in the upper leaves. | JU Xiao-Tang CHAO Feng-Chun LI Chun-Jian JIANG Rong-Feng P. | 3 | HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTICS OF VERTICAL VORTEX AT HYDRAULIC INTAKES显示文摘The trace of vertical vortex flow at hydraulic intakes is of the shape of spiral lines,which was observed in the presented experiments with the tracer technique. It represents the fluid particles flow spirally from the water surface to the underwater and rotate around the vortex-axis multi-cycle. This process is similar to the movement of screw. To describe the multi-circle spiral characteristics under the axisymmetric condition,the vertical vortex would change not only in the radial direction but also in the axial direction. The improved formulae for three velocity components for the vertical vortex flow were deduced by using the method of separation of variables in this article. In the improved formulae,the velocity components are the functions of the radial and axial coordinates,so the multi-circle spiral flow of vertical vortex could be simulated. | 5 | Editing of Rice Isoamylase Gene ISA1 Provides Insights into Its Function in Starch Formation显示文摘Isoamylase 1(ISA1) is an isoamylase-type debranching enzyme which plays a predominant role in amylopectin synthesis. In this study, the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated endonuclease 9(CRISPR/Cas9) system was used to edit ISA1 gene in rice via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. We identified 36 genetic edited lines from 55 T_0 transgenic events, and classified the mutation forms into 7 types. Of those, two homozygous mutants, cr-isa1-1(type 1, with an adenine insertion) and cr-isa1-2(type 3, with a cytosine deletion) were selected for further analysis. Seed sizes of both cr-isa1-1 and cr-isa1-2 were affected, and the two mutants also displayed a shrunken endosperm with significantly lower grain weight. Electron microscopy analysis showed that abnormal starch granules and amyloplasts were found in cr-isa1-1 and cr-isa1-2 endosperm cells. The contents of total starch, amylose and amylopectin in the endosperm of the cr-isa1 mutants were significantly reduced, whereas sugar content and starch gel consistency were observably increased compared to the wild-type. The gelatinization temperature and starch chain length distributions of the cr-isa1 mutants were also altered. Moreover, transcript levels of most starch synthesis-related genes were significantly lower in cr-isa1 mutants. | 9 | Multiple locus genealogies and phenotypic characters reappraise the causal agents of apple ring rot in China显示文摘Apple ring rot inflicts severe economic losses in the main apple producing areas of East Asia.The causal agent of the disease has been variously identified as Macrophoma kuwatsukai,Physalospora piricola and Botryosphaeria berengeriana f.sp.piricola,although B.dothidea is currently the most widely accepted pathogen name.The taxonomic uncertainty has delayed research that is needed to manage effectively this destructive disease.In the present study,genealogical concordance phylogenetic species recognition(GCPSR)was applied to pathogenic fungal isolates from apple and pear from several locations in China,along with several reference isolates.Phylogenetic results based on sequences of four nuclear loci(ITS,EF-1α,HIS and HSP)revealed the existence of two species within the examined isolates.One includes an ex-epitype isolate of B.dothidea and the other includes an isolate that was previously designated as B.berengeriana f.sp.piricola.Morphologically,the latter taxon presented an appressed mycelial mat on PDA whereas B.dothidea displayed columns of aerial mycelia reaching the lids,and conidia of the latter species were longer than B.dothidea.Botryosphaeria dothidea had a faster growth rate than the latter taxon under relatively high temperatures.Pathogenicity tests showed that on pear stems the latter taxon caused large-scale cankers along with blisters whereas B.dothidea was non-pathogenic,but on apple shoots the two fungi induced large and small wart-like prominences,respectively.Overall,this cryptic species demonstrated sufficient genetic variations and biological differences from B.dothidea.As a result of taxonomic study,we described here the latter taxon in a new combination,Botryosphaeria kuwatsukai and designate an epitype.Both B.kuwatsukai and B.dothidea are considered to be the main causal agents for apple ring rot in China and Japan. | Chao Xu Chunsheng Wang Liangliang Ju Rong Zhang Alan R.Biggs Eiji Tanaka Bingzhi Li Guangyu Sun | 2015 | Fungal Diversity2015,,2: | 6 |

The identifiability of SLM is analyzed at first, it is concluded that the model parameters are identifiable if one of the resistance, reactance and the ratio of them is known. The conclusion is validated through a simulation example. A strategy for parameter identification of SLM is proposed with the combination of the component based approach and the measurement based approach. During parameter identification, only the key parameters playing very important roles in the dynamics of the load and the system are estimated, while the other parameters playing limited role are set as the default values. As the dissipated heat can be recovered for various applications, the wasted heat recovery concentrator PV/thermal(WHR CPVT) hybrid systems have been developed. They can provide both electricity and usable heat by combining thermal systems with concentrator PV(CPV) module, which dramatically improves the overall conversion efficiency of solar energy.This paper systematically and comprehensively reviews the research and development of WHR CPVT systems. WHR CPVT systems with innovative design configurations, different theoretical evaluation models and experimental test processes for several implementations are presented in an integrated manner. We aim to provide a global point of view on the research trends, market potential, technical obstacles, and the future work which is required in the development of WHR CPVT technology. | 17 | An investigation on application potentiality of microstructure heat sinks with different flow topological morphology显示文摘Microstructure heat sinks have great potential for high heat flux cooling.In this paper,we compared microchannel(MC),micro-pin-fin(MPF),manifold microchannel(MMC),and manifold micro-pin-fin(MMPF)heat sinks to figure out the pros and cons.Fluid flow and manifold unit models are used to study thermal and hydrodynamic performance.The heat sinks with different channel/fin sizes,manifold numbers,and porosities are discussed according to the pressure drop,temperature,thermal resistance,and coefficient of performance.Results show that MMC and MMPF heat sinks are superior to MC and MPF heat sinks,and there are also differences between MMC and MMPF heat sinks.Typically,the MMPF heat sink has lower maximum temperature,temperature non-uniformity,and total thermal resistance R_(tot).In contrast,the MMC heat sink has a lower pressure drop and higher COP.For the MMPF heat sink,at the nozzle width of 6.75μm and the MPF width of 70.71μm(porosity=0.167),it achieves the lowest total thermal resistance of R_(tot)=2.97×10^(-6)K m^(2)/W.Under 10^(3)W/cm^(2)heat flux,the maximum surface temperature rise is 29.74 K,and the maximum temperature difference of the heating surface is 3.15 K.This research initially provides a clear reference on the selection of single-phase cooling microstructures for ultra-high heat flux dissipation. | YAO XiaoLe SHI QianLei LIU Qian QIN Le JU Xing XU Chao | 2022 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,12: | 2 |

Functional annotation of differentially expressed genes revealed trajectory hierarchies of granule cells (GCs) at various states and implied roles of mitochondrion and ATPases in the maturation of Purkinje cells (PCs), the sole output cells of the cerebellar cortexFurthermore, we analyzed gene expression patterns and co-expression networks of 28 ataxia risk genes, and found that most of them are related with biological process of mitochondrion and around half of them are enriched in PCs. Given the transmit powers of both the uplink and the downlink, the closed-form solutions of the optimal number of antennas and the maximum EE are achieved in the high regime of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). It is shown that the optimal number of antennas and the maximum EE gets larger with the increase in user numbers. To further improve the EE, an optimization algorithm with low complexity is proposed to jointly determine the number of antennas and the transmit powers of both the uplink and the downlink. | 20 | Dynamic analysis of a concentrating photovoltaic/concentrating solar power (CPV/CSP) hybrid system显示文摘Concentrating photovoltaic/concentrating solar power(CPV/CSP)systems suffer from varying irradiation and extreme working conditions.In this study,a dynamic physical model is developed for the CPV/CSP hybrid system to analyze the dynamic responses of several key parameters,such as the solar radiation saltation or linear variation to represent the typical weather variations.The results show that the hybrid system could rapidly reach the steady state in less than about 53 s after the solar radiation saltation increases or decreases by 10%.The response time reflects that the thermal hysteresis of the hybrid system is mainly determined by varying the outlet temperature of R134a from the solar thermal receiver.Meanwhile,when the solar radiation changes linearly,a lower gradient is beneficial to remit the thermal hysteresis of the hybrid system and improve the thermal stability,and the parameters could be treated as the steady state values with a gradient of less than 0.2 W m^-2 s^-1.Afterward,the quasi-steady state model was used to analyze the all-day dynamic performance of the hybrid system.It shows that the power output and the flow rate are directly related to the direct normal irradiance(DNI),while the outlet temperature of R134a vapor could be almost constant except for the starting and stopping periods. | HAN Xue XU Chao PAN XinYu JU Xing DU XiaoZe | 2019 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2019,62,11: | 2 |
