| 1 | Discovery of ultrahigh-pressure magnesite-bearing garnet lherzolite (>3.8 GPa) in the Altyn Tagh, Northwest China显示文摘Magnesite-bearing garnet Iherzolite from the Altyn Tagh, associated with garnet pyroxenite, and garnet-bearing felsic gneiss, crops out as lenses in Proterozoic gneiss about 100 km east of the Jianggelasayi River. The garnet Iherzolite, together with the eclogite in western Jianggelasayi, composes a high-pressure to ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic belt in the southern margin of the Altyn Tagh. Parageneses of minerals from magnesite-bearing garnet Iherzolite indicate that the rock evolved a multi-stage metamorphism. The peak-stage metamorphism produces an assemblage of Grt+Ol+Opx+Cpx±Mgs, in which A12O3 content of Opxis very low (0.30-0.66wt%). The calculated P-T condition of the peak stage is 3.8-5.lGPa and 880-970°C, some exsolution rods of clinopyroxene and rutile occur in the Grt and magnesite is rimed by dolomite and orthopyroxene, all implying that the peak stage was a UHP metamorphic process. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. | 6 | Effects of dietary supplementation of probiotic,Clostridium butyricum,on growth performance,immune response,intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activity in broiler chickens challenged with Escherichia coli K88显示文摘Background:Colibacillosis caused by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli(E.coli) results in economic losses in the poultry industry.Antibiotics are usually used to control colibacillosis,however,E.coli has varying degrees of resistance to different antibiotics.Therefore the use of probiotics is becoming accepted as an alternative to antibiotics.In this study,we evaluated the effects of Clostridium butyricum(C.butyricum) on growth performance,immune response,intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activity in broiler chickens challenged with Escherichia coli(E.coif) K88.Methods:The chickens were randomly divided into four treatment groups for 28 days.Negative control treatment(NC) consisted of birds fed a basal diet without E.coli K88 challenge and positive control treatment(PC) consisted of birds fed a basal diet and challenged with E.coli K88.C.butyricum probiotic treatment(CB) consisted of birds fed a diet containing 2×10~7 cfu C butyricum/kg of diet and challenged with E.coli K88.Colistin sulfate antibiotic treatment(CS)consisted of birds fed a diet containing 20 mg colistin sulfate/kg of diet and challenged with E.coli K88.Results:The body weight(BW) and average day gain(ADG) in the broilers of CB group were higher(P< 0.05) than the broilers in the PC group overall except the ADG in the 14-21 d post-challenge.The birds in CB treatment had higher(P < 0.05) concentration of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) at 3 and 7 d post-challenge,and higher(P < 0.05)concentration of interleukin-4(IL-4) at 14 d post-challenge than those in the PC treatment group.The concentration of serum endotoxin in CB birds was lower(P<0.05) at 21 d post-challenge,and the concentrations of serum diamine oxidase in CB birds were lower(P < 0.05) at 14 and 21 d post-challenge than in PC birds.Birds in CB treatment group had higher(P< 0.05) jejunum villi height than those in PC,NC,or CS treatment at 7,14,and 21 d post-challenge.In comparison to PC birds,the CB birds had lower(P < 0.05) jejunum crypt depth during the whole experiment.The birds in CB or CS treatment group had higher(P < 0.05) activities of amylase and protease at 3,7,and 14 d post-challenge,and higher(P< 0.05) activity of lipase at 3,7 d post-challenge than PC birds.Conclusions:In all,these results indicate that dietary supplementation with C.butyricum promotes immune response,improves intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activities in broiler chickens challenged with E.coli K88.There is no significant difference between the C.butyricum probiotic treatment and the colistin sulfate antibiotic treatment.Therefore,the C.butyricum probiotic may be an alternative to antibiotic for broiler chickens. | Ling Zhang Lingling Zhang Xiu'an Zhan Xinfu Zeng Lin Zhou Guangtian Cao An'guo Chen Caimei Yang | 2016 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1: | 43 |

| 8 | Ultrahigh pressure (>7 GPa) gneissic K-feldspar (-bearing) garnet clinopyroxenite in the Altyn Tagh, NW China: Evi- dence from clinopyroxene exsolution in garnet显示文摘The exsolution of clinopyroxene and rutile in coarse-grain garnet is found in the gneissic K-feldspar(-bearing) garnet clinopyroxenite from Yinggelisayi in the Altyn Tagh, NW China. The maximum content of the exsolved clinopyroxene in the garnet is up to >5% by volume. The reconstructed precursor garnet (Grt1) before exsolution has a maximum Si content of 3.061 per formula uint, being of supersilicic or majoritic garnet. The peak-stage metamorphic pressure of >7 GPa is estimated using the geobarometer for volume percentage of exsolved pyroxene in garnet and the Si-(Al+Cr) geobarometer for majoritic garnet, and the temperature of about 1000℃ using the ternary alkali-feldspar geothermometer and the experimental data of ilmen- ite-magnetite solid solution. The protoliths of the rocks are intra-plate basic and intermediate ig- neous rocks, of which the geochemical features indicate that they are probably the products of the evolution of basic magma deriving from the continental lithosphere mantle. The rocks are in outcrops associated with ultrahigh pressure garnet-bearing lherzolite and ultrahigh pressure garnet granitoid gneiss. All of these data suggest that the ultrahigh pressure metamorphic rocks in the Altyn Tagh are the products of deep-subduction of the continental crust, and such deep- subduction probably reaches to >200 km in depth. | 14 | Rupture segmentation and slip partitioning of the mid-eastern part of the Kunlun Fault,north Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Kunlun Fault,an active fault on the border between the Bayan Har and Kunlun-Qaidam blocks,is one of the major left lateral strike-slip faults in the Tibetan Plateau.Previous research has not reached a consensus on agreeable slip rates along much of its length and the slip rate gradient along the eastern part,both of which play critical roles in a range of models for the eastward extrusion and thickened crust of the Tibetan Plateau.New slip rates have been determined at sites along the eastern part of the Kunlun Fault by dating deposits and measuring atop displaced fluvial terrace risers.Field investigations and interpretation of satellite images reveal geometrical features of the fault and the late Quaternary offset,new earthquake ruptures and surface-rupturing segmentation,from which long-term slip rates and earthquake recurrence intervals on the fault are estimated.The tectonic geomorphology method has determined that the long-term horizontal slip rates on the Tuosuohu,Maqin and Maqu segments from west to east are 11.2±1,9.3±2,and 4.9±1.3 mm/a while their vertical slip rates are 1.2±0.2,0.7±0.1,and 0.3 mm/a in the late Quaternary.Results indicate that the slip rates regularly decrease along the eastern ~300 km of the fault from >10 to <5 mm/a.This is consistent with the decrease in the gradient such that at the slip rate break point is at the triple point intersection with the transverse fault,which in turn is transformed to the Awancang Fault.The vector decomposition for this tectonic transformation shows that the western and eastern branches of the Awancang Fault fit the slip-partitioning mode.The slip rate of the southwestern wall is 4.6 mm/a relative to the northeastern wall and the slip direction is 112.1°.The mid-eastern part of the Kunlun Fault can be divided into three independent segments by the A'nyêmaqên double restraining bend and the Xigongzhou intersection zone,which compose the surface rupture segmentation indicators for themselves as well as the ending point of the 1937 M7.5 Tuosuohu earthquake.The average recurrence interval of the characteristic earthquakes are estimated to be 500-1000 a,respectively.The latest earthquake ruptures occurred in AD 1937 on the western Tuosuohu segment,as compared to ~514-534 a BP on the Maqin segment,and ~1055 to 1524 a BP on the Maqu segment.This may indicate a unidirectional migration for surface rupturing earthquakes along the mid-eastern Kunlun Fault related to stress triggered between these segments.Meanwhile,the long-term slip rate is obtained through the single event offset and the recurrence interval,which turn out to be the same results as those determined by the offset tectonic geomorphology method,i.e.,the decreasing gradient corresponds to the geometrical bending and the fault's intersection with the transverse fault.Therefore,the falling slip rate gradient of the mid-eastern Kunlun Fault is mainly caused by eastward extension of the fault and its intersection with the transverse fault. | LI ChenXia XU XiWei WEN XueZe ZHENG RongZhang CHEN GuiHua YANG Hu AN YanFen GAO Xiang | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,11: | 33 |
| 15 | Paleozoic and Mesozoic Basement Magmatisms of Eastern Qaidam Basin,Northern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau:LA-ICP-MS Zircon U-Pb Geochronology and its Geological Significance显示文摘The eastern margin of the Qaidam Basin lies in the key tectonic location connecting the Qinling,Qilian and East Kunlun orogens.The paper presents an investigation and analysis of the geologic structures of the area and LA-ICP MS zircon U-Pb dating of Paleozoic and Mesozoic magmatisms of granitoids in the basement of the eastern Qaidam Basin on the basis of 16 granitoid samples collected from the South Qilian Mountains,the Qaidam Basin basement and the East Kunlun Mountains.According to the results in this paper,the basement of the basin,from the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin to the East Kunlun Mountains,has experienced at least three periods of intrusive activities of granitoids since the Early Paleozoic,i.e.the magmatisms occurring in the Late Cambrian(493.1±4.9 Ma),the Silurian(422.9±8.0 Ma-420.4±4.6 Ma) and the Late Permian-Middle Triassic(257.8±4.0 Ma-228.8±1.5 Ma),respectively.Among them,the Late Permian-Middle Triassic granitoids form the main components of the basement of the basin.The statistics of dated zircons in this paper shows the intrusive magmatic activities in the basement of the basin have three peak ages of 244 Ma(main),418 Ma,and 493 Ma respectively.The dating results reveal that the Early Paleozoic magmatism of granitoids mainly occurred on the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin and the southern margin of the Qilian Mountains,with only weak indications in the East Kunlun Mountains.However,the distribution of Permo-Triassic(P-T) granitoids occupied across the whole basement of the eastern Qaidam Basin from the southern margin of the Qilian Mountains to the East Kunlun Mountains.An integrated analysis of the age distribution of P-T granitoids in the Qaidam Basin and its surrounding mountains shows that the earliest P-T magmatism(293.6-270 Ma) occurred in the northwestern part of the basin and expanded eastwards and southwards,resulting in the P-T intrusive magmatism that ran through the whole basin basement.As the Cenozoic basement thrust system developed in the eastern Qaidam Basin,the nearly N-S-trending shortening and deformation in the basement of the basin tended to intensify from west to east,which went contrary to the distribution trend of N-S-trending shortening and deformation in the Cenozoic cover of the basin,reflecting that there was a transformation of shortening and thickening of Cenozoic crust between the eastern and western parts of the Qaidam Basin,i.e.,the crustal shortening of eastern Qaidam was dominated by the basement deformation(triggered at the middle and lower crust),whereas that of western Qaidam was mainly by folding and thrusting of the sedimentary cover(the upper crust). | CHEN Xuanhua George GEHRELS YIN An LI Li JIANG Rongbao | 2012 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,2: | 32 |

| 17 | Laparoscopic vs open D2 gastrectomy for locally advanced gastric cancer: A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To conduct a meta-analysis comparing laparoscopic(LGD2)and open D2 gastrectomies(OGD2)for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer(AGC).METHODS:Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)and non-RCTs comparing LGD2 with OGD2 for AGC treatment,published between 1 January 2000 and 12January 2013,were identified in the Pub Med,Embase,and Cochrane Library databases.Primary endpoints included operative outcomes(operative time,intraoperative blood loss,and conversion rate),postoperative outcomes(postoperative analgesic consumption,time to first ambulation,time to first flatus,time to first oralintake,postoperative hospital stay length,postoperative morbidity,incidence of reoperation,and postoperative mortality),and oncologic outcomes(the number of lymph nodes harvested,tumor recurrence and metastasis,disease-free rates,and overall survival rates).The Cochrane Collaboration tools and the modified Newcastle-Ottawa scale were used to assess the quality and risk of bias of RCTs and non-RCTs in the study.Subgroup analyses were conducted to explore the incidence rate of various postoperative morbidities as well as recurrence and metastasis patterns.A Begg’s test was used to evaluate the publication bias.RESULTS:One RCT and 13 non-RCTs totaling 2596patients were included in the meta-analysis.LGD2 in comparison to OGD2 showed lower intraoperative blood loss[weighted mean difference(WMD)=-137.87 m L,95%CI:-164.41--111.33;P<0.01],lower analgesic consumption(WMD=-1.94,95%CI:-2.50--1.38;P<0.01),shorter times to first ambulation(WMD=-1.03d,95%CI:-1.90--0.16;P<0.05),flatus(WMD=-0.98d,95%CI:-1.30--0.66;P<0.01),and oral intake(WMD=-0.85 d,95%CI:-1.67--0.03;P<0.05),shorter hospitalization(WMD=-3.08 d,95%CI:-4.38--1.78;P<0.01),and lower postoperative morbidity(odds ratio=0.78,95%CI:0.61-0.99;P<0.05).No significant differences were observed between LGD2 and OGD2 for the following criteria:reoperation incidence,postoperative mortality,number of harvested lymph nodes,tumor recurrence/metastasis,or three-or five-year diseasefree and overall survival rates.However,LGD2 had longer operative times(WMD=57.06 min,95%CI:41.87-72.25;P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Although a technically demanding and time-consuming procedure,LGD2 may be safe and effective,and offer some advantages over OGD2 for treatment of locally AGC. | Zhen-Hong Zou Li-Ying Zhao Ting-Yu Mou Yan-Feng Hu Jiang Yu Hao Liu Hao Chen Jia-Ming Wu Sheng-Li An Guo-Xin Li | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,44: | 25 |
