Visible-light-driven heterostructured g-C_(3)N_(4)/Bi-TiO_(2) floating photocatalyst with enhanced charge carrier separation for photocatalytic inactivation of Microcystis aeruginosa显示文摘The increase in occurrence and severity of cyanobacteria blooms is causing increasing concern;moreover, human and animal health is affected by the toxic effects of Microcystin-LR released into the water. In this paper,a floating photocatalyst for the photocatalytic inactivation of the harmful algae Microcystis aeruginosa(M.aeruginosa)was prepared using a simple sol-gel method,i.e.,coating g-C_(3)N_(4) coupled with Bi-doped TiO_(2) on Al_(2)O_(3)-modified expanded perlite(CBTA for short). The impact of different molar ratios of Bi/Ti on CBTA was considered. The results indicated that Bi doping in TiO_(2) inhibited photogenerated electron-hole pair recombination. With 6 h of visible light illumination,75.9%of M.aeruginosa(initial concentration=2.7106 cells/L)and 83.7%of Microcystin-LR(initial concentration=100μg/L)could be removed with the addition of 2 g/L CBTA1%(i.e.,Bi/Ti molar ratio=1%).The key reactive oxygen species(ROSs)in the photocatalytic inactivation process are h+andOH.The induction of the Bi^(4+)/Bi^(3+)species by the incorporation of Bi could narrow the bandgap of TiO_(2),trap electrons, and enhance the stability of CBTA-1%in the solutions with coexisting environmental substances. | Jingke Song Chenyang Li Xuejiang Wang Songsong Zhi Xin Wang Jianhui Sun | 2021 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,6: | 5
Targeted therapeutics and novel signaling pathways in nonalcohol-associated fatty liver/steatohepatitis(NAFL/NASH)显示文摘Non-alcohol-associated fatty liver/steatohepatitis(NAFL/NASH)has become the leading cause of liver disease worldwide.NASH,an advanced form of NAFL,can be progressive and more susceptible to developing cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.Currently, lifestyle interventions are the most essential and effective strategies for preventing and controlling NAFL without the development of fibrosis. While there are stll limited appropriate drugs specifically to treat NAFL/NASH,growing progress is being seen in elucidating the pathogenesis and identifying therapeutic targets. In this review,we discussed recent developments in etiology and prospective therapeutic targets,as well as pharmacological candidates in pre/clinical trials and patents, with a focus on diabetes, hepatic lipid metabolism, inflammation, and fibrosis.Importantly, growing evidence elucidates that the disruption of the gut-liver axis and microbederived metabolites drive the pathogenesis of NAFL/NASH.Extracellular vesicles(EVs)act as a signaling mediator, resulting in lipid accumulation, macrophage and hepatic stellate cell activation, further promoting inflammation and liver fibrosis progression during the development of NAFL/NASH.Targeting gut microbiota or EVs may serve as new strategies for the treatment of NAFL/NASH.Finally,other mechanisms, such as cell therapy and genetic approaches, also have enormous therapeutic potential.Incorporating drugs with different mechanisms and personalized medicine may improve the efficacy to better benefit patients with NAFL/NASH. | Xiaohan Xu Kyle L.Poulsen Ljuan Wu Shan Liu Tatsunori Miyata Qiaoling Song Qingda Wei Chenyang Zhao Chunhua Lin Jinbo Yang | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9: | 2
Human health risk assessment of groundwater nitrate at a two geomorphic units transition zone in northern China显示文摘To assess groundwater nitrate contamination and its human health risks,489 unconfined groundwater samples were collected and analyzed from Zhangjiakou, northern China. The spatial distribution of principle hydrogeochemical results showed that the average concentrations of ions in descend order was HCO3-,SO42-,Na+,Ca2+,Cl-,NO3-,Mg2+and K+,among which the NO3-concentrations were between 0.25 and 536.73 mg/L with an average of 29.72 mg/L.In total,167 out of 489 samples(34%)exceeded the recommended concentration of 20 mg/L in Quality Standard for Groundwater of China. The high NO3-concentration groundwater mainly located in the northern part and near the boundary of the two geomorphic units. As revealed by statistical analysis, the groundwater chemistry was more significantly affected by anthropogenic sources than by the geogenic sources. Moreover, human health risks of groundwater nitrate through oral and dermal exposure pathways were assessed by model, the results showed that about 60%,50%,32%and 26%of the area exceeded the acceptable level(total health index>1)for infants, children, adult males and females, respectively. The health risks for different groups of people varied significantly, ranked:infants>children>adult males>adult females, suggesting that younger people are more susceptible to nitrate contamination, while females are more resistant to nitrate contamination than males. To ensure the drinking water safety in Zhangjiakou and its downstream areas, proper management and treatment of groundwater will be necessary to avoid the health risks associated with nitrate contamination. | Huiliang Wang Keyu Lu Chenyang Shen Xiaoguang Song Bin Hu Gang Liu | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,12: | 2
Extended model predictive control scheme for smooth path following of autonomous vehicles显示文摘This paper presents an extended model predictive control(MPC)scheme for implementing optimal path following of autonomous vehicles, which has multiple constraints and an integrated model of vehicle and road dynamics.Road curvature and inclination factors are used in the construction of the vehicle dynamic model to describe its lateral and roll dynamics accurately.Sideslip, rollover, and vehicle envelopes are used as multiple constraints in the MPC controller formulation. Then,an extended MPC method solved by differential evolution optimization algorithm is proposed to realize optimal smooth path following based on driving path features. Finally, simulation and real experiments are carried out to evaluate the feasibility and the effectiveness of the extended MPC scheme. Results indicate that the proposed method can obtain the smooth transition to follow the optimal drivable path and satisfy the lateral dynamic stability and environmental constraints, which can improve the path following quality for better ride comfort and road availability of autonomous vehicles. | Qianjie LIU Shuang SONG Huosheng HU Tengchao HUANG Chenyang LI Qingyuan ZHU | 2022 | Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2022,17,1: | 2

Nonreciprocal coherent coupling of nanomagnets by exchange spin waves显示文摘Nanomagnets are widely used to store information in non-volatile spintronic devices.Spin waves can transfer information with low-power consumption as their propagations are independent of charge transport. However,to dynamically couple two distant nanomagnets via spin waves remains a major challenge for magnonics. Here we experimentally demonstrate coherent coupling of two distant Co nanowires by fast propagating spin waves in an yttrium iron garnet thin film with sub-50 nm wavelengths.Magnons in two nanomagnets are unidirectionally phase-locked with phase shifts controlled by magnon spin torque and spin-wave propagation. The coupled system is finally formulated by an analytical theory in terms of an effective non-Hermitian Hamiltonian. Our results are attractive for analog neuromorphic computing that requires unidirectional information transmission. | Hanchen Wang Jilei Chen Tao Yu Chuanpu Liu Chenyang Guo Song Liu Ka Shen Hao Jia Tao Liu Jianyu Zhang Marco A.Cabero Z Qiuming Song Sa Tu Mingzhong Wu Xiufeng Han Ke Xia Dapeng Yu Gerrit E.W.Bauer Haiming Yu | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,7: | 1
A virus-induced conformational switch of STAT1-STAT2 dimers boosts antiviral defenses显示文摘Type I interferons(IFN-)protect us from viral infections.Signal transducer and activator of transcription 2(STAT2)is a key component of interferon-stimulated gene factor 3(ISGF3),which drives gene expression in response to IFN-I.Using electron microscopy,we found that,in naive cells,U-STAT2,lacking the activating tyrosine phosphorylation, forms a heterodimer with U-STAT1 in an inactive,anti-parallel conformation.A novel phosphorylation of STAT2 on T404 promotes IFN-I signaling by disrupting the U-STAT1-U-STAT2 dimer, facilitating the tyrosine phosphorylation of STATs 1 and 2 and enhancing the DNA-binding ability of ISGF3.IKK-ε,activated by virus infection, phosphorylates T404 directly.Mice with a T-A mutation at the corresponding residue(T403)are highly susceptible to virus infections. We conclude that T404 phosphorylation drives a critical conformational switch that,by boosting the response to IFN-I in infected cells, enables a swift and efficient antiviral defense. | Yuxin Wang Qiaoling Song Wei Huang Yuxi Lin Xin Wang Chenyao Wang Belinda Willard Chenyang Zhao Jing Nan Elise Holvey-Bates Zhuoya Wang Derek Taylor Jinbo Yang George RStark | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,2: | 1
E2F is required for STAT3-mediated upregulation of cyclin B1 and Cdc2 expressions and contributes to G2–M phase transition显示文摘Activation of transcription factor STAT3 is involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and cell survival.Constitutive activation of STAT3 pathway has been associated with the oncogenesis of various types of cancers. It has been reported that STAT3 plays a key role in the G1 to S phase cell cycle transition induced by the cytokine receptor subunit gp130,through the upregulation of cyclins D1,D2,D3,A,and Cdc25A and the concomitant downregulation of p21 and p27.However,its role in mediating G2–M phase transition has not been studied. The cyclin B1/Cdc2 complex is widely accepted as the trigger of mitosis in all organisms and is believed to be necessary for progression through S phase and keep active during the G2–M transition and progression. In the present study,we found that activation of STAT3 stimulates cyclin B1 and Cdc2 expressions.Deletion and site-directed mutations on cyclin B1 and Cdc2 promoters indicated that E2F element mediates the upregulation of these two promoters in a STAT3-dependent manner. The findings reported here demonstrated that STAT3 participates in modulating G2–M phase checkpoint by regulating gene expressions of cyclin B1 and Cdc2 via E2F. | Jingjie Sun Yuping Du Qiaoling Song Jing Nan Peizhu Guan Jihui Guo Xiao Wang Jinbo Yang Chenyang Zhao | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,3: | 1
The precision and agreement of corneal thickness and keratometry measurements with SS-OCT versus Scheimpflug imaging显示文摘Purpose:To assess the repeatability and reproducibility of swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT)and Scheimpflug system and evaluate the agreement between the two systems in measuring multiple corneal regions in children. Methods:Pachymetric and keratometric maps for both systems were evaluated.Central, midperipheral and peripheral corneal thickness(CT),keratometry and astigmatism power vectors were recorded. The three outcomes yielded by the same observer were used to assess intraobserver repeatability. The differences in the mean values provided by each observer were used to evaluate interobserver reproducibility.Within-subject standard deviation,test-retest repeatability(TRT)and coefficient of variation(CoV)were used to analyze the intraobserver repeatability and interobserver reproducibility.Paired T-test and Bland-Altman were used to appraise interdevice agreement.Results:Seventy-eight eyes of 78 children were included. The CoV was≤2.12 and 1.10%,respectively,for repeatability and reproducibility.TRT and CoV were lower for central and paracentral CT measurements than for peripheral measurements. The SS-OCT device generated higher precision when acquiring CT data, whereas Scheimpflug system showed higher reliability when measuring corneal keratometry.Although the CT readings measured using SS-OCT were significantly thinner than Scheimpflug device(P<0.001),the central and thinnest CT values were still of high agreement. The interdevice agreement of keratometry measurement was high for the central corneal region and moderate for the paracentral and peripheral areas. Conclusions:The precision of CT measurements by SS-OCT was higher, while the reliability of keratometry measurements by the Scheimpflug system was higher in children.Apart from the measured values in the central corneal region, the thickness and keratometry readings should not be considered interchangeable between the two systems. | Yune Zhao Ding Chen Giacomo Savini Qing Wang Hongfang Zhang Yili Jin Benhao Song Rui Ning Jinhai Huang Chenyang Mei | 2020 | Eye and Vision2020,7,1: | 1
A novel numerical simulation method for predicting compressive properties of 3D multiaxial braided composites considering various defects显示文摘This paper reports a novel manufacturing process of preparing the Three-Dimensional Multiaxial Braided Composites(3DMBCs) and the effects of various defects generated in the manufacturing process on the compressive mechanical properties of 3DMBCs through the experimental and numerical methods. The five-step fabrication process of the 3D multiaxial braided preform was firstly introduced in detail. Then, the influences of various defects such as voids, waviness, and fiber breakage defects on the compressive properties of 3DMBCs were discussed. It is found that the fiber breakage defect and waviness defects were the two primary factors on the decrease of compressive properties of 3DMBCs. However, void defects in the resin and interface had little effect on the composites. When the fiber breakage defect content was 25% and the waviness was 7°, the composite compressive modulus decreased by 51%. The progressive damage process and failure mechanism of the composite under 90° compressive loading confirmed the validity of the numerical model by comparing with the experiments. | Ruixin LEI Hao DOU Yan SUN Tao LIU Wei FAN Chenyang SONG Shujuan WANG Yao LU Xue YANG Diansen LI | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,9: | 0

Design and implementation of a jellyfish otolith-inspired MEMS vector hydrophone for low-frequency detection显示文摘Detecting low-frequency underwater acoustic signals can be a challenge for marine applications.Inspired by the notably strong response of the auditory organs of pectis jellyfish to ultralow frequencies,a kind of otolith-inspired vector hydrophone(OVH)is developed, enabled by hollow buoyant spheres atop cilia.Full parametric analysis is performed to optimize the cilium structure in order to balance the resonance frequency and sensitivity. After the structural parameters of the OVH are determined, the stress distributions of various vector hydrophones are simulated and analyzed. The shock resistance of the OVH is also investigated. Finally, the OVH is fabricated and calibrated. The receiving sensitivity of the OVH is measured to be as high as−202.1 dB@100 Hz(0 dB@1 V/μPa),and the average equivalent pressure sensitivity over the frequency range of interest of the OVH reaches−173.8 dB when the frequency ranges from 20 to 200 Hz.The 3 dB polar width of the directivity pattern for the OVH is measured as 87°.Moreover,the OVH is demonstrated to operate under 10 MPa hydrostatic pressure. These results show that the OVH is promising in low-frequency underwater acoustic detection. | Renxin Wang Wei Shen Wenjun Zhang Jinlong Song Nansong Li Mengran Liu Guojun Zhang Chenyang Xue Wendong Zhang | 2021 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2021,7,1: | 0
Type I interferon signaling facilitates resolution of acute liver injury by priming macrophage polarization显示文摘Due to their broad functional plasticity, myeloid cells contribute to both liver injury and recovery during acetaminophen overdose-induced acute liver injury(APAP-ALI).A comprehensive understanding of cellular diversity and intercellular crosstalk is essential to elucidate the mechanisms and to develop therapeutic strategies for APAP-ALI treatment. Here,we identified the function of IFN-I in the myeloid compartment during APAP-ALI.Utilizing single-cell RNA sequencing,we characterized the cellular atlas and dynamic progression of liver CD11b+cells post APAP-ALI in WT and STAT2 T403A mice, which was further validated by immunofluorescence staining, bulk RNA-seq,and functional experiments in vitro and in vivo.We identified IFN-I-dependent transcriptional programs in a three-way communication pathway that involved IFN-I synthesis in intermediate restorative macrophages, leading to CSF-1 production in aging neutrophils that ultimately enabled Trem2+restorative macrophage maturation, contributing to efficient liver repair.Overall,we uncovered the heterogeneity of hepatic myeloid cells in APAP-ALI at single-cell resolution and the therapeutic potential of IFN-I in the treatment of APAP-ALI. | Qiaoling Song Shyamasree Datta Xue Liang Xiaohan Xu Paul Pavicic Xiaonan Zhang Yuanyuan Zhao Shan Liu Jun Zhao Yuting Xu Jing Xu Lihong Wu Zhihua Wu Minghui Zhang Zhan Zhao Chunhua Lin Yuxin Wang Peng Han Peng Jiang Yating Qin Wei Li Yingying Zhang Yonglun Luo Ganes Sen George R.Stark Chenyang Zhao Thomas Hamilton Jinbo Yang | 2023 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,2: | 0
Effects of sulfur on variations in the chemical speciation of heavy metals from fly ash glass显示文摘This work designed a new CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)-SO3 glass for the immobilization of multiple heavy metals found in dechlorinated fly ash having high amounts of calcium and sulfur. Increasing the (CaO + SO3)/SiO_(2) mass ratio (M(CS/S)) from 0.28 to 0.85 was found to lower the proportions of Mn, Ni and Zn in an unstable state, while an M(CS/S) ratio of 0.51 gave the lowest proportions of unstable Cr and Pb. Decreasing the degree of polymerization of the glassy network increased the proportions of Mn, Cr, Ni, Pb and Zn in the carbonate bound state. The leaching out of metals in this state was the primary cause of degradation of Q^(3) structural units in the glassy network. The amount of Mn in the iron-manganese oxide bound state was increased by increasing the number of Q^(2) units in the silicate network. Decreasing the CaO/SiO_(2) mass ratio (M(C/S)) raised the proportions of Mn, Ni and Zn in the unstable state. An M(C/S) value of 0.43 lowered the proportions of unstable Cr and Pb. A principal components analysis determined that the leaching of toxic heavy metals from the glass was primarily related to the proportions of these metals in the unstable state while there were no evident correlations between leaching and the proportions in stable states. | Yali Chang Jianwei Cao Wenfeng Song Zhi Wang Chenyang Xu Mengzhuo Long | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,10: | 0
