| 4 | Reservoir Characteristics and Preservation Conditions of Longmaxi Shale in the Upper Yangtze Block, South China显示文摘The Upper Ordovician-Lower Silurian Longmaxi Shale in the Upper Yangtze block represents one of the most important shale gas plays in China. The shale composition,porosity,organic thermal maturity,and methane sorption were investigated at the Qilongcun section in the Dingshan area,southeastern Sichuan Basin. The results show that the Upper Ordovician-Lower Silurian Longmaxi Shale contains:(1) sapropelic I organic matter;(2) a 40-m thick bedded sequence where total organic carbon(TOC) content is > 2%;(3) a 30-m thick layer at the base of the Longmaxi Shale with a brittle mineral content higher than 50%; and(4) a mean methane adsorption capacity of 1.80 cm^3/g(7 MPa pressure). A positive correlation between TOC and sorbed gas indicates that organic matter content exerts an important control on methane storage capacity. Based on the analysis of the shale reservoir characteristics,the lower member of the Longmaxi Shale can thus be considered a favorable stratum for shale gas exploration and exploitation. It has similar reservoir characteristics with the Longmaxi Shale in the Jiaoshiba area tested with a high-yield industrial gas flow. However,based on tectonic analysis,differences in the level of industrial gas flow between the low-yield study area and the high-yield Jiaoshiba area may result from different tectonic preservation conditions. Purified human e EF2K was obtained from an Escherichia coli expression system and a luminescence-based high-throughput screening(HTS) assay was developed using MH-1 peptide as the substrate. The luminescent readouts correlated with the amount of adenosine triphosphate remaining in the kinase reaction. This method was applied to a large-scale screening campaign against a diverse compound library and subsequent confirmation studies. | 8 | Sedimentary environment controls on the accumulation of organic matter in the Upper Ordovician Wufeng–Lower Silurian Longmaxi mudstones in the Southeastern Sichuan Basin of China显示文摘The Upper Ordovician–Lower Silurian mudstones(including the Wufeng, Guanyinqiao and Longmaxi Formations) in the Sichuan Basin are some of the most important shale gas plays in China. In order to enhance our understanding of the process of formation of organic carbon up to 10%, optical, microscopy and geochemical methods have been used to investigate the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of the formation. Firstly, three mudstone lithofacies were identified based on a wide variety of mudstone laminations. These are:(a) indistinctly laminated mudstone;(b) parallellaminated mudstone; and(c) nonparallel-laminated mudstone. Then, combining with the evidence from depocenter migration, Th/U ratios and total organic carbon, the abundant organo-minerallic fabrics suggest that organic carbon was preferentially deposited and preserved in anoxic, low energy and stagnant water conditions during deposition of the Wufeng and Longmaxi Formations. | 10 | Characterization of Mediterranean Magnetotactic Bacteria显示文摘Magnetotactic bacteria are a diverse group of motile prokaryotes that are ubiquitous in aquatic habitats and cosmopolitan in distribution. In this study, we collected magnetotactic bacteria from the Mediterranean Sea. A remarkable diversity of morphotypes was observed, including multicellular types that seemed to differ from those previously found in North and South America. Another interesting organism was one with magnetosomes arranged in a six-stranded bundle which occupied one third of the cell width. The magnetosome bundle was evident even under optic microscopy. These cells were connected together and swam as a linear entire unit. Magnetosomes did not always align up to form a straight linear chain. A chain composed of rectangle magnetosomes bent at a posi- tion with an oval crystal. High resolution transmission electron microscopy analysis of the crystal at the pivotal position suggested uncompleted formation of the crystal. | 15 | A novel radiomics signature based on T2-weighted imaging accurately predicts hepatic inflammation in individuals with biopsy-proven nonalcoholic fatty liver disease:a derivation and independent validation study显示文摘Background:Currently,there are no effective methods for assessing hepatic inflammation without resorting to histological examination of liver tissue obtained by biopsy.T2-weighted images(T2WI)are routinely obtained from liver magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)scan sequences.We aimed to establish a radiomics signature based on T2WI(T2-RS)for assessment of hepatic inflammation in people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods:A total of 203 individuals with biopsy-confirmed NAFLD from two independent Chinese cohorts with liver MRI examination were enrolled in this study.The hepatic inflammatory activity score(IAS)was calculated by the unweighted sum of the histologic scores for lobular inflammation and ballooning.One thousand and thirty-two radiomics features were extracted from the localized region of interest(ROI)in the right liver lobe of T2WI and,subsequently,selected by minimum redundancy maximum relevance and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)methods.The T2-RS was calculated by adding the selected features weighted by their coefficients.Results:Eighteen radiomics features from Laplacian of Gaussian,wavelet,and original images were selected for establishing T2-RS.The T2-RS value differed significantly between groups with increasing grades of hepatic inflammation(P<0.01).The T2-RS yielded an area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUROC)of 0.80[95%confidence interval(CI):0.71-0.89]for predicting hepatic inflammation in the training cohort with excellent calibration.The AUROCs of T2-RS in the internal cohort and external validation cohorts were 0.77(0.61-0.93)and 0.75(0.63-0.84),respectively.Conclusions:The T2-RS derived from radiomics analysis of T2WI shows promising utility for predicting hepatic inflammation in individuals with NAFLD. | Zhong-Wei Chen Huan-Ming Xiao Xinjian Ye Kun Liu Rafael S.Rios Kenneth I.Zheng Yi Jin Giovanni Targher Christopher D.Byrne Junping Shi Zhihan Yan Xiao-Ling Chi Ming-Hua Zheng | 2022 | Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2022,11,2: | 1 |
