| 1 | Thinking Metacognitively about Metacognition in Second and Foreign Language Learning,Teaching,and Research:Toward a Dynamic Metacognitive Systems Perspective显示文摘Against a background where language learning/learner strategy(LLS)research was criticized,we would like to bring to the fore a key concept,metacognition,which has not been fully understood in the way that criticisms were levelled against LLS research.We argue that despite the justification for some points,such criticisms are not based on a complete understanding of the theoretical foundations of LLS research,nor on what metacognition entails,especially when these two constructs are related to both the cognitive and sociocultural domains of learning.Exactly because metacognition is undergirded by both cognitive and sociocultural underpinnings,it cannot be treated purely as a cognitive enterprise;instead,it should be conceptualized as a set of complex dynamic systems.We argue that some of the criticisms of LLS research are problematic because of the critics'limited understanding of LLS research.These critics have not pointed out close relationships between LLS research and metacognition.To disperse the confusion caused by such criticisms and to advance the field,we elaborate on a dynamic metacognitive systems perspective on second and foreign language learning,teaching and research.We maintain that thinking metacognitively about metacognition with dual or multiple perspectives is necessary.Doing so will enable us to see the contribution of the dynamic metacognitive systems perspective to enhancing our understanding of second and foreign learning,teaching,and research. | LAWRENCE JUN ZHANG DONGLAN ZHANG | 2013 | 当代外语研究2013,,12: | 5 |
| 2 | Number of Species and Geographical Distribution of Diospyros L.(Ebenaceae) in China显示文摘Diospyros L. is the largest, most widely distributed, and economically important genus of the family Ebenaceae. However, various researchers disagree on the number of species and geographical distribution of Diospyros in China. For the purpose of providing a scientific basis for the effective protection and rational use of Diospyros, the present study involved a comprehensive review of the literature, electronic databases, and herbaria as well as field investigations. The results showed as the following.(1) While 174 scientific names have been published for various taxa of Diospyros in China, by screening and excluding synonyms, 65 species names were considered acceptable; these account for about 12%of the total species of Diospyros globally.(2) A review of herbarium specimens documented that Diospyros occurs in 28 administrative regions of China, more than the literature records. Species richness decreases from south to north in China while Guangxi, Yunnan, Guangdong, and Hainan have the greatest number of species.(3) Among the 65 relatively reliable Diospyros species, 45 species are endemic to China and 18 species are stenochoric. Some species may have become extinct as a result of environmental degradation and the status of some germplasm remain unresolved. In brief, Chinese Diospyros includes abundant, China-specific, and widely distributed features. | 3 | Resequencing of sweetpotato germplasm resources reveals key loci associated with multiple agronomic traits显示文摘Sweetpotato is an important crop that exhibits hexaploidy and high heterozygosity,which limits gene mining for important agronomic traits.Here,314 sweetpotato germplasm resources were deeply resequenced,and 4599509 SNPs and 846654 InDels were generated,among which 196124 SNPs were nonsynonymous and 9690 InDels were frameshifted.Based on the Indels,genome-wide marker primers were designed,and 3219 of 40366 primer pairs were selected to construct the core InDel marker set.The molecular ID of 104 sweetpotato samples verified the availability of these primers.The sweetpotato population structures were then assessed through multiple approaches using SNPs,and diverse approaches demonstrated that population stratification was not obvious for most Chinese germplasm resources.As many as 20 important agronomic traits were evaluated,and a genome-wide association study was conducted on these traits.A total of 19 high-confidence loci were detected in both models.These loci included several candidate genes,such as IbMYB1,IbZEP1,and IbYABBY1,which might be involved in anthocyanin metabolism,carotenoid metabolism,and leaf morphogenesis,respectively.Among them,IbZEP1 and IbYABBY1 were first reported in sweetpotato.The variants in the promoter and the expression levels of IbZEP1 were significantly correlated with f lesh color(orange or not orange)in sweetpotato.The expression levels of IbYABBY1 were also correlated with leaf shape.These results will assist in genetic and breeding studies in sweetpotato. | Shizhuo Xiao Xibin Dai Lingxiao Zhao Zhilin Zhou Lukuan Zhao Pan Xu Bingqian Gao An Zhang Donglan Zhao Rui Yuan Yao Wang Jie Wang Qinglian Li Qinghe Cao | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,1: | 1 |

| 8 | A novel mutation in ROR2 led to the loss of function of ROR2 and inhibited the osteogenic differentiation capability of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)显示文摘Receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 2(ROR2)has a vital role in osteogenesis.However,the mechanism underlying the regulation of ROR2 in osteogenic differentiation is still poorly comprehended.A previous study by our research group showed that a novel compound heterozygous ROR2 variation accounted for the autosomal recessive Robinow syndrome(ARRS).This study attempted to explore the impact of the ROR2:c.904C>T variant specifically on the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.Methods:Coimmunoprecipitation(CoIP)-western blotting was carried out to identify the interaction between ROR2 and Wnt5a.Double-immunofluorescence staining was used for determining the expressions and co-localization of ROR2 and Wnt5a in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs).Western blot(WB)analysis and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)were conducted to identify the expression levels of ROR2 in the BMSCs transfected with LV-shROR2 or LV-ROR2-c.904C>T.The alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity was detected,and Alizarin Red S staining was done for evaluating the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.RT-qPCR was employed to identify the expression of the sphingomyelin synthase 1(SMS1)mRNA in the BMSCs transfected with LV-shROR2 or LV-ROR2-c.904C>T and the mRNA expression levels of Runt-related transcription factor 2(RUNX2),osteocalcin(OCN),and osteopontin(OPN).WB was performed to confirm the protein expressions of extracellular regulated protein kinases1(ERK),P-ERK,Smad family member1/5/8(Smad1/5/8),P-Smad1/5/8,P-P38,P38,RUNX2,OCN,and OPN in the BMSCs transfected with LV-shROR2/LV-ROR2-c.904C>T and sphingomyelin(SM).Results:The ROR2:c.904C>T mutant altered the subcellular localization of the ROR2 protein,which caused an impaired interaction between ROR2 and Wnt5a.The depletion of ROR2 restricted the osteogenic differentiation capability of BMSCs and downregulated the expression of SMS1.SM treatment could reverse the inhibition of osteoblastic differentiation in ROR2-depleted BMSCs.Conclusion:The findings of this work revealed that the ROR2:c.904C>T variant led to the loss of function of ROR2,which impaired the interaction between ROR2 and Wnt5a and also controlled the osteogenic differentiation capability of BMSCs.Furthermore,SM was revealed to be engaged in the osteoblastic differentiation of BMSCs regulated by ROR2,which renders SM a potential target in the therapy for ARRS. | WENQI CHEN XIAOYANG CHU YANG ZENG YOUSHENG YAN YIPENG WANG DONGLAN SUN DONGLIANG ZHANG JING ZHANG KAI YANG | 2023 | BIOCELL2023,47,7: | 0 |

| 10 | Low-strain binary hexacyanoferrate nanocuboids with concentration-gradient structure towards fast and durable energy storage显示文摘The exploration of low-strain and high-performance electrode is a crucial issue for aqueous potassiumion battery(AKIB).Herein,a novel potassium mediated iron/manganese binary hexacyanoferrate nanocuboid,i.e.,K_(x)Fe_(y)Mn_(1-y)[Fe(CN)_(6)]·nH_(2)O(KFeMnHCF)nanocuboid,with the concentration-gradient(CG)structure is designed as a high-performance cathode for AKIB.Internal the CG-KFeMnHCF nanocuboids,the manganese content gradually decreases from the interior to the surface and the iron content changes reverse,resulting in the concentration-gradient structure.Both experimental and finite element simulation(FEA)results demonstrate the lower internal stress and better mechanical characteristics of CG structured nanocuboid than the homogenous structured one upon ion intercalation/deintercalation processes.Meanwhile,the electrochemical testing and theoretical calculation(DFT)results disclose the substitution of Fe to Mn in the KMnHCF crystal results in the enhanced electronic conductivity,potassium migration and electrochemical kinetics.Taken both advantages from the well-designed architecture and optimized crystal structure,the CG-KFeMnHCF achieves the superior rate capability and ultrahigh stability in aqueous potassium ion system.In particular,the CG-KFe_(0.31)Mn_(0.69)HCF achieves the best comprehensive properties among all the samples.The full AKIBs based on CG-KFe_(0.31)Mn_(0.69)HCF cathode achieves the high energy density(83 Wh kg^(-1)),superior power density,high capacity retention(83%)over high-rate long-term cycles,good adaptation to a wide temperature range(-20 to 40℃)and high reliability even under outside deformations.Therefore,this work not only provides a new clue to design the highperformance cathode,but also promotes the applications of AKIBs for diverse electronics and wide working environments. | Yutong Lin Bing Han Donglan Zhang Xueya Liu Zili Wang Zhengyu Wang Liang Si Sen Zhang Chao Deng | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,11: | 0 |
| 11 | Direct energy rebound effect for road transportation in China显示文摘The enhancement of energy efficiency stands as the principal avenue for attaining energy conservation and emissions reduction objectives within the realm of road transportation.Nevertheless,it is imperative to acknowledge that these objectives may,in part or in entirety,be offset by the phenomenon known as the energy rebound effect(ERE).To quantify the long-term EREs and short-term EREs specific to China’s road transportation,this study employed panel cointegration and panel error correction models,accounting for asymmetric price effects.The findings reveal the following:The long-term EREs observed in road passenger transportation and road freight transportation range from 13%to 25%and 14%to 48%,respectively;in contrast,the short-term EREs in road passenger transportation and road freight transportation span from 36%to 41%and 3.9%to 32%,respectively.It is noteworthy that the EREs associated with road passenger transportation and road freight transportation represent a partial rebound effect,falling short of reaching the magnitude of a counterproductive backfire effect.This leads to the inference that the upsurge in energy consumption within the road transportation sector cannot be solely attributed to advancements in energy efficiency.Instead,various factors,including income levels,the scale of commodity trade,and industrial structure,exert more substantial facilitating influences.Furthermore,the escalation of fuel prices fails to dampen the demand for energy services,whether in the domain of road passenger transportation or road freight transportation.In light of these conclusions,recommendations are proffered for the formulation of energy efficiency policies pertinent to road transportation. | Donglan ZHA Pansong JIANG Xue ZHANG | 2023 | Frontiers of Engineering Management2023,10,4: | 0 |
