1A chlorinated polymer promoted analogue co-donors for efficient ternary all-polymer solar cells显示文摘The efficient ternary all-polymer solar cells(PSCs) are designed and fabricated, using a polymer acceptor of NDP-V-C7 and analogue co-donors containing a chlorinated polymer PBCl T and classical PTB7-Th. PBCl T and PTB7-Th possess very similar chemical structure and matched energy levels to form the cascade of the co-donors. Meanwhile, benefiting from those analogous polymer structures, there is little influence of the morphology in blend film compared to their pristine polymer films. The binary PBCl T:NDP-V-C7 devices exhibit a high open-circuit voltage(V_(oc)) due to the deep HOMO level of PBCl T. The V_(oc)of all-PSCs could be finely manipulated by adjusting the content of PBCl T in blend film. The ternary all-PSCs have the more balanced charge mobility and prolonged carrier lifetime compared to the binary devices. The PBCl T also help improve the miscibility of ternary blend and suppress crystallization in films, bringing about favorable morphology with appropriate orientation and surface roughness in blend film. With the optimal processing, the champion ternary all-PSCs obtain a high PCE of 9.03%, which is about 10% enhancement compared to that of binary device. 2Identification of Major Locus Bph35 Resistance to Brown Planthopper in Rice显示文摘An introgression line RBPH660,derived from wild rice Oryza rufipogon,showed stable resistance to brown planthopper(BPH).Segregation analysis indicated BPH resistance of RBPH660 was controlled by multiple genes/QTLs.By using the bulked segregant analysis(BSA)-seq method,two genomic regions harboring QTLs resistance to BPH were identified from 1.20 to 16.70 Mb on chromosome 4 and from 10.20 to 12.60 Mb on chromosome 9 in RBPH660,respectively.A major resistance locus,designated as Bph35 accounting for 51.27%of the phenotypic variation with a LOD score of 42.51,was mapped to the candidate region of chromosome 4 between In Del(insertion-deletion)markers PSM16 and R4 M13.For fine mapping of Bph35,one simple sequence repeat and three newly developed In Del markers were used to screen the recombinants.Finally,the Bph35 locus was delimited in the region from 6.28 to 6.93 Mb and there were 18 predicted protein-encoding genes with a total of 114 non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)variant sites between the resistant and susceptible parents.Out of these genes,Os04 g0193950,encoding a putative NB-ARC(nucleotidebinding adaptor shared by APAF-1,R proteins and CED-4)and LRR(leucine-rich repeat)domain protein with nine non-synonymous SNP substitutions in its coding sequence regions,might be the candidate gene for Bph35.These findings would facilitate the map-based cloning of the Bph35 gene and development of resistant varieties against BPH in rice.ZHANG Yuexiong QIN Gang MA Qianqian WEI Minyi YANG Xinghai MA Zengfeng LIANG Haifu LIU Chi LI Zhenjing LIU Fang HUANG Dahui LI Rongbai 2020Rice science2020,27,3:3

4Effects of Spherical Aggregates Addition on Properties of Al2O3-SiO2 System Castables显示文摘Compared with traditional aggregates,spherical aggregates with high flowability,easy control of particle size distribution and favor of dense packing and so on,are expected to replace traditional aggregates as important raw materials for future high performance refractories. Therefore,investigation of effects of spherical aggregates addition on properties of refractories becomes very meaningful. Using A70 mullite traditional aggregates and A70 mullite spherical aggregates, bauxite homogenization powder,microsilica,and calcium aluminate cement as raw materials,different Al_2O_3-SiO_2system low cement castables were prepared by replacing conventional aggregates with spherical aggregates. The effect of spherical aggregates addition on workability and mechanical properties of castables after heated at different temperatures was researched,and microstructure of the specimen was analyzed by SEM. Compared with traditional irregularly shaped aggregates,spherical aggregates endow castables with better flowability and easy pump ability. By introduction of spherical aggregates into the castables,flowability and pumpability are significantly improved,and water addition and ball completely sunk time are reduced. The introduction of spherical aggregates is favorable to density and cold crushing strength of castables,but unfavorable to CMOR. The effect of spherical aggregates addition on HMOR at1 400 ℃ can be negligible. 5Estimating Design Loads with Environmental Contour Approach Using Copulas for an Offshore Jacket Platform显示文摘Jacket-type offshore platforms are widely used for oil, gas field, and energy development in shallow water. The design of a jacket structure is highly dependent on target environmental variables. This study focuses on a strategy to estimate design loads for offshore jacket structures based on an environmental contour approach. In addition to the popular conditional distribution model, various classes of bivariate copulas are adopted to construct joint distributions of environmental variables. Analytical formulations of environmental contours based on various models are presented and discussed in this study. The design loads are examined by dynamic response analysis of jacket platform. Results suggest that the conditional model is not recommended for use in estimating design loads in sampling locations due to poor fitting results. Independent copula produces conservative design loads and the extreme response obtained using the conditional model are smaller than those determined by copulas. The suitability of a model for contour construction varies with the origin of wave data. 7Growing impacts of low-flow events on vegetation dynamics in hydrologically connected wetlands downstream Yangtze River Basin after the operation of the Three Gorges Dam显示文摘Wetland vegetation is intimately related to floodplain inundations,which can be seriously affected by dam operation.Poyang Lake is the largest floodplain wetland in China and naturally connected with the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges Dam(TGD)upstream.To understand the potential impacts of TGD on Poyang Lake wetlands,we collected remote sensing imagery acquired during dry season from 1987 to 2020 and extracted vegetation coverage data in the Ganjiang Northern-branch Delta(GND)and the Ganjiang Southern-branch Delta(GSD),using the Object-oriented Artificial Neural Network Regression.Principal components analysis,correlation analysis,and the random forest model were used to explore the interactions between vegetation extent in the two deltas and 33 hydrological variables regarding magnitude,duration,timing,and variation.The implementation of the TGD advanced and extended the low-flow periods in Poyang Lake.Vegetation coverage in the GND and GSD increased at the rates of 0.39 and 0.22 km2/year,respectively.The reservoir storage at the end of September accelerated the runoff recession in the GND and the GSD,making low-flow events more influential for vegetation dynamics and shortening the response time of vegetation to the water regime.This study provides an important reference for evaluating the impacts of dam engineering on downstream wetlands.WANG Dandan LIU Ying ZHENG Lilin LI Dahui 2023Journal of Geographical Sciences2023,33,4:1

12OsPEX1,a leucine-rich repeat extensin protein,functions in the regulation of caryopsis development and quality in rice显示文摘Rice caryopses are enclosed by outer glumes.The size and dimension of the outer glume are the main determinants of caryopsis size.However,it is unclear whether caryopsis development is completely dependent on the size of the glume,or whether it can grow and expand autonomously despite the constraint of glume enclosure.We report the identification of a mutant line that produces normal-sized glumes with smaller mature caryopses that do not fill the entire glume cavity.The caryopsis phenotype in the pex1 mutant is caused by a reduction in cell size.Os PEX1,a leucine-rich repeat extensin gene,was highly expressed in the developing caryopsis.Overexpression of Os PEX1 driven by a constitutive promoter recapitulated the mutant phenotype,showing that the small-caryopsis phenotype is caused by overexpression of the Os PEX1 gene.Free amino acids,including several essential amino acids,and crude protein were increased in pex1 relative to the wild type,endowing pex1 with improved nutritional quality.Our results suggest that caryopsis development can be genetically uncoupled from maternally controlled glume development and that Os PEX1 might be a new resource for improving nutritional quality of rice cultivars.Xin Luan Shanwen Ke Shuchun Liu Guojian Tang Dahui Huang Minyi Wei Yuexiong Zhang Gang Qin Xiang-Qian Zhang 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,3:1

14Domain knowledge discovery from abstracts of scientific literature on Nickel-based single crystal superalloys显示文摘Despite the huge accumulation of scientific literature,it is inefficient and laborious to manually search it for useful information to investigate structure-activity relationships.Here,we propose an efficient text-mining framework for the discovery of credible and valuable domain knowledge from abstracts of scientific literature focusing on Nickel-based single crystal superalloys.Firstly,the credibility of abstracts is quantified in terms of source timeliness,publication authority and author’s academic standing.Next,eight entity types and domain dictionaries describing Nickel-based single crystal superalloys are predefined to realize the named entity recognition from the abstracts,achieving an accuracy of 85.10%.Thirdly,by formulating 12 naming rules for the alloy brands derived from the recognized entities,we extract the target entities and refine them as domain knowledge through the credibility analysis.Following this,we also map out the academic cooperative“Author-Literature-Institute”network,characterize the generations of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys,as well as obtain the fractions of the most important chemical elements in superalloys.The extracted rich and diverse knowledge of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys provides important insights toward understanding the structure-activity relationships for Nickel-based single crystal superalloys and is expected to accelerate the design and discovery of novel superalloys.LIU Yue DING Lin YANG ZhengWei GE XianYuan LIU DaHui LIU Wei YU Tao AVDEEV Maxim SHI SiQi 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,6:1

18Data quantity governance for machine learning in materials science显示文摘Data-driven machine learning(ML)is widely employed in the analysis of materials structure-activity relationships,performance optimization and materials design due to its superior ability to reveal latent data patterns and make accurate prediction.However,because of the laborious process of materials data acquisition,ML models encounter the issue of the mismatch between a high dimension of feature space and a small sample size(for traditional ML models)or the mismatch between model parameters and sample size(for deep-learning models),usually resulting in terrible performance.Here,we review the efforts for tackling this issue via feature reduction,sample augmentation and specific ML approaches,and show that the balance between the number of samples and features or model parameters should attract great attention during data quantity governance.Following this,we propose a synergistic data quantity governance flow with the incorporation of materials domain knowledge.After summarizing the approaches to incorporating materials domain knowledge into the process of ML,we provide examples of incorporating domain knowledge into governance schemes to demonstrate the advantages of the approach and applications.The work paves the way for obtaining the required high-quality data to accelerate materials design and discovery based on ML.Yue Liu Zhengwei Yang Xinxin Zou Shuchang Ma Dahui Liu Maxim Avdeev Siqi Shi 2023National Science Review2023,10,7:0
19Artemisia argyi extract subfraction exerts an antifungal effect against dermatophytes by disrupting mitochondrial morphology and function显示文摘Artemisia argyi(A.argyi),a plant with a longstanding history as a raw material for traditional medicine and functional diets in Asia,has been used traditionally to bathe and soak feet for its disinfectant and itch-relieving properties.Despite its widespread use,scientific evidence validating the antifungal efficacy of A.argyi water extract(AAWE)against dermatophytes,particularly Trichophyton rubrum,Trichophyton mentagrophytes,and Microsporum gypseum,remains limited.This study aimed to substantiate the scientific basis of the folkloric use of A.argyi by evaluating the antifungal effects and the underlying molecular mechanisms of its active subfraction against dermatophytes.The results indicated that AAWE exhibited excellent antifungal effects against the three aforementioned dermatophyte species.The subfraction AAWE6,isolated using D101 macroporous resin,emerged as the most potent subfraction.The minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs)of AAWE6 against T.rubrum,M.gypseum,and T.mentagrophytes were 312.5,312.5,and 625μg·mL−1,respectively.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM)results and assays of enzymes linked to cell wall integrity and cell membrane function indicated that AAWE6 could penetrate the external protective barrier of T.rubrum,creating breaches(“small holes”),and disrupt the internal mitochondrial structure(“granary”).Furthermore,transcriptome data,quantitative real-time PCR(RT-qPCR),and biochemical assays corroborated the severe disruption of mitochondrial function,evidenced by inhibited tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle and energy metabolism.Additionally,chemical characterization and molecular docking analyses identified flavonoids,primarily eupatilin(131.16±4.52 mg·g^(−1))and jaceosidin(4.17±0.18 mg·g^(−1)),as the active components of AAWE6.In conclusion,the subfraction AAWE6 from A.argyi exerts antifungal effects against dermatophytes by disrupting mitochondrial morphology and function.This research validates the traditional use of A.argyi and provides scientific support for its antidermatophytic applications,as recognized in the Chinese patent(No.ZL202111161301.9).CHEN Le ZHU Yunyun GUO Chaowei GUO Yujie ZHAO Lu MIAO Yuhuan DU Hongzhi LIU Dahui 2024Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2024,22,1:0
