1A 2-kb Mycovirus Converts a Pathogenic Fungus into a Beneficial Endophyte for Brassica Protection and Yield Enhancement显示文摘Mycoviruses are viruses that infect fungi,and hypovirulence-associated mycoviruses have the potential to control fungal diseases.However,it is unclear how mycovirus-mediated hypovirulent strains live and survive in the field,and no mycovirus has been applied for field crop protection.In this study,we found that a previously identified small DNA mycovirus(SsHADV-1)can convert its host,Sclerotinia sclerotiorum,from a typical necrotrophic pathogen to a beneficial endophytic fungus.SsHADV-1 downregulates the expression of key pathogenicity factor genes in S.sclerotiorum during infection.When growing in rapeseed,the SsHADV-1-infected strain DT-8 significantly regulates the expression of rapeseed genes involved in defense,hormone signaling,and circadian rhythm pathways.As a result,plant growth is promoted and disease resistance is enhanced.Field experiments showed that spraying DT-8 at the early flowering stage can reduce the disease severity of rapeseed stem rot by 67.6%and improve yield by 14.9%.Moreover,we discovered that SsHADV-1 could also infect other S.sclerotiorum strains on DT-8-inoculated plants and that DT-8 could be recovered from dead plants.These findings suggest that the mycoviruses may have the ability to shape the origin of endophytism.Our discoveries suggest that mycoviruses may influence the origin of endophytism and may also offer a novel strategy for disease control in which mycovirus-infected strains are used to improve crop health and release mycoviruses into the field.Hongxiang Zhang Jiatao Xie Yanping Fu Jiasen Cheng Zheng Qu Zhenzhen Zhao Shufen Cheng Tao Chen Bo Li Qianqian Wang Xinqiang Liu Binnian Tian David B.Collinge Daohong Jiang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,10:9
2Application of GA-SVM in classification of surrounding rock based on model reliability examination显示文摘In order to improve the discrimination precision of support vector machine(SVM) in classification of surrounding rock, a Genetic Algorithm(GA) was used to optimize SVM parameters in the solution space.The idea of examination of model reliability was introduced to check the reliability of the SVM parameters,obtained by genetic algorithms.In the process of model reliability,a trend examination method is presented,which checks the reliability of the model via the influence trend of impact factors on the object of evaluation and their evaluation level.Trend examination methods are universal,showing new ideas in model reliability examination and can be used in any problems of examination of reliability of models,based on previous experience.We established a GA-SVM based reliability model of a classification the surrounding rock and applied it to a practical engineering situation.The result shows that the improved SVM has a high capability for generalization and prediction accuracy in classification of surrounding rock.QIU Daohong LI Shucai ZHANG Lewen XUE Yiguo 2010Mining Science and Technology2010,20,3:6
3Stability analysis and optimization of excavation method of double-arch tunnel with an extra-large span based on numerical investigation显示文摘The Xiamen Haicang double-arch tunnel has a maximum span of 45.73 m and a minimum burial depth of 5.8 m.A larger deformation or collapse of the tunnel is readily encountered during tunnel excavation.It is therefore necessary to select a construction approach that is suitable for double-arch tunnel projects with an extra-large span.In this study,three construction methods for double-arch tunnels with extra-large spans were numerically simulated.Subsequently,the deformation behavior and stress characteristics of the surrounding rock were obtained and compared.The results showed that the double-side-drift method with temporary vertical support achieves better adaptability in the construction of such tunnels,which can be observed from both the numerical results and in situ monitoring data.In addition,the improved temporary support plays a critical role in controlling the surrounding rock deformation.In addition,the disturbance resulting from the excavation of adjacent drifts was obvious,particularly the disturbance of the surrounding rock caused by the excavation of the middle drift.The present findings can serve as the initial guidelines for the construction of ultra-shallowly buried double-arch tunnels with extra-large spans.Yiguo XUE Huimin GONG Fanmeng KONG Weimin YANG Daohong QIU Binghua ZHOU 2021Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2021,15,1:4
4Designing Advanced Aqueous Zinc-Ion Batteries:Principles,Strategies,and Perspectives显示文摘Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are an appealing battery system due to their low cost,intrinsic safety,and environmental-friendliness,while their application is plagued by the obstacles from the cathode,electrolyte,and zinc anode.Summarizing the design principles and strategies toward the optimization of cathode,electrolyte,and zinc anode is crucial for the development of AZIBs.Herein,we present a comprehensive analysis of the design principles and promising strategies toward the improvement of AZIBs.Firstly,the various reaction mechanisms are summarized and the existing issues associated with the cathode,electrolyte,and zinc anode are discussed to guide the rational design of AZIBs.Subsequently,we provide an in-depth and comprehensive discussion on the design principles and strategies for the electrodes/electrolyte/separator optimization,and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various strategies.Importantly,the design principles and strategies of the newly appeared conversion-type AZIBs,such as Zn-S battery and Zn-Se battery,are also discussed and analyzed.The effect of design strategies on the electrochemical performance and the relationship between the current issues and strategies are also unveiled in detail.Finally,some research trends and perspectives are provided for designing better AZIBs.Yan Li Zhouhao Wang Yi Cai Mei Er Pam Yingkui Yang Daohong Zhang Ye Wang Shaozhuan Huang 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,3:4
5Bisphenol-A epoxy resin reinforced and toughened by hyperbranched epoxy resin显示文摘The study on toughening and reinforcing of bisphenol-A epoxy resin is one of important developmental direction in the field.This paper reports a one-pot synthesis of aromatic polyester hyperbranched epoxy resin HTDE-2,an effect of HTDE-2 content on the mechanical and thermal performance of the bisphenol-A(E51)/HTDE-2 hybrid resin in detail.Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectrometer,scanning electronic microscopy(SEM),differential scanning calo ri metry(DSC),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),dynamic mechanical thermal analysis(DMA)and molecular simula tion technology are used to study the structure of HTDE-2,performance and toughening and reinforcing mech-anism of the HTDE-2/E51 hybrid resin.It has been shown that the content of HTDE-2 has an important effect on the performance of the hybrid resin,and the performance of the HTDE-2/E51 blends has maximum with the increase in HTDE-2 content.The impact strength and fracture toughness of the hybrid resin with 9 wt-%HTDE-2 are almost 3.088 and 1.749 times of E51 performance respectively,furthermore,the tensile and flexural strength can also be enhanced about 20.7% and 14.2%,respectively.The glass transition tem-perature and thermal degradation temperature,however,are found to decrease to some extent.ZHANG Daohong JIA Demin HUANG Xianbo 2007Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2007,1,4:3
6Specially shaped Bessel-like self-accelerating beams along predesigned trajectories显示文摘Over the past several years, spatially shaped self-accelerating beams along different trajectories have been studied extensively. Due to their useful properties such as resistance to diffraction, self-healing, and selfbending even in free space, these beams have attracted great attention with many proposed applications. Interestingly, some of these beams could be designed with controllable spatial profiles and thus propagate along various desired trajectories such as parabolic, snake-like, hyperbolic, hyperbolic secant, three-dimensional spiraling, and even self-propelling trajectories. Experimentally, suchbeams are realized typically by using a spatial light modulator so as to imprint a desired phase distribution on a Gaussian-like input wave front propagating under paraxial or nonparaxial conditions. In this paper, we provide a brief overview of our recent work on specially shaped self-accelerating beams, including Bessel-like, breathing Bessellike, and vortex Bessel-like beams. In addition, we propose and demonstrate a new type of dynamical Bessel-like beams that can exhibit not only self-accelerating but also self-propelling during propagation. 7Nonlinear topological valley Hall edge states arising from type-Ⅱ Dirac cones显示文摘A Dirac point is a linear band crossing point originally used to describe unusual transport properties of materials like graphene.In recent years,there has been a surge of exploration of type-II Dirac/Weyl points using various engineered platforms including photonic crystals,waveguide arrays,metasurfaces,magnetized plasma and polariton micropillars,aiming toward relativistic quantum emulation and understanding of exotic topological phenomena.Such endeavors,however,have focused mainly on linear topological states in real or synthetic Dirac/Weyl materials.We propose and demonstrate nonlinear valley Hall edge(VHE)states in laserwritten anisotropic photonic lattices hosting innately the type-Ⅱ Dirac points.These self-trapped VHE states,manifested as topological gap quasi-solitons that can move along a domain wall unidirectionally without changing their profiles,are independent of external magnetic fields or complex longitudinal modulations,and thus are superior in comparison with previously reported topological edge solitons.Our finding may provide a route for understanding nonlinear phenomena in systems with type-Ⅱ Dirac points that violate the Lorentz invariance and may bring about possibilities for subsequent technological development in light field manipulation and photonic devices.Hua Zhong Shiqi Xia Yiqi Zhang Yongdong Li Daohong Song Chunliang Liu Zhigang Chen 2021Advanced Photonics2021,3,5:3
8Nontrivial coupling of light into a defect:the interplay of nonlinearity and topology显示文摘The flourishing of topological photonics in the last decade was achieved mainly due to developments in linear topological photonic structures.However,when nonlinearity is introduced,many intriguing questions arise.For example,are there universal fingerprints of the underlying topology when modes are coupled by nonlinearity,and what can happen to topological invariants during nonlinear propagation?To explore these questions,we experimentally demonstrate nonlinearity-induced coupling of light into topologically protected edge states using a photonic platform and develop a general theoretical framework for interpreting the mode-coupling dynamics in nonlinear topological systems.Performed on laser-written photonic Su-Schrieffer-Heeger lattices,our experiments show the nonlinear coupling of light into a nontrivial edge or interface defect channel that is otherwise not permissible due to topological protection.Our theory explains all the observations well.Furthermore,we introduce the concepts of inherited and emergent nonlinear topological phenomena as well as a protocol capable of revealing the interplay of nonlinearity and topology.These concepts are applicable to other nonlinear topological systems,both in higher dimensions and beyond our photonic platform.Shiqi Xia Dario Jukic Nan Wang Daria Smirnova Lev Smirnov Liqin Tang Daohong Song Alexander Szameit Daniel Leykam Jingjun Xu Zhigang Chen Hrvoje Buljan 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:3
9Transmissible hypovirulent element in isolate Ep-1PN of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum显示文摘The cause of virulence decline of hypovirulent isolate Ep-1PN of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary has been studied through transmitting test and analysing its offsprings derived from single ascospore. When the colony of a normal strain Ep-1PNA 183 intermingled with the colony of Ep-1PN, its margin became abnormal, just like Ep-1PN. Cultures isolated from top-tip of the colony of Ep-1PNA 183 showed the hypovirulence and its associated properties of Ep-1PN. Moreover, a series of cultures which have characteristics between Ep-1PN and normal strain could be isolated from stipes of Ep-1PN. More than 200 offsprings derived from single ascospore of Ep-1PN were normal strains. 12Free-space realization of tunable pin-like optical vortex beams显示文摘We demonstrate,both analytically and experimentally,free-space pin-like optical vortex beams (POVBs). Such angular-momentum-carrying beams feature tunable peak intensity and undergo robust antidiffracting propagation,realized by judiciously modulating both the amplitude and the phase profile of a standard laser beam.Specifically,they are generated by superimposing a radially symmetric power-law phase on a helical phase structure,which allows the inclusion of an orbital angular momentum term to the POVBs. During propagation in free space,these POVBs initially exhibit autofocusing dynamics,and subsequently their amplitude patterns morph into a high-order Bessel-like profile characterized by a hollow core and an annular main lobe with a constant or tunable width during propagation. In contrast with numerous previous endeavors on Bessel beams,our work represents the first demonstration of long-distance free-space generation of optical vortex 'pins' with their peak intensity evolution controlled by the impressed amplitude structure. 13Color stability of FCC gasoline显示文摘The color changes of one representative FCC gasoline were studied. The red substance in the FCC gasoline was concentrated and separated by chromatography and analyzed by elemental analysis and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The main components of the red substance were found to be aromatic amines. Complexes formed from quinones and aromatic amines are the reason why gasoline being red, and acids can destroy the complex by reaction with aromatic amines leading to decoloration of red gasoline. 15Cellular immunity augmentation in mainstream oncologic therapy显示文摘Anticancer immunotherapy has undergone a long evolving journey for decades, and has been dramatically applied to mainstream treatments in oncology in recent 5 years. This progress represents an advanced milestone following cytotoxic medicine and targeted therapy. Cellular immunity plays a pivotal role in the immune responses of hosts to tumor antigens. Such immunity is notably suppressed during neoplastic progression due to immuno-editing processes. Cellular immunity can also be selectively reactivated to combat malignancies while exploiting the advantages of contemporary scientific breakthroughs in molecular immunology and genetic engineering. The rapid advancement of cellular immunity-based therapeutic approaches has achieved high efficacy in certain cancer patients. Consequently, the landscape of oncologic medicine and pharmaceutical innovation has transformed recently. Our main purpose of this paper is to improve error bounds by presenting a new comparison theorem associated with general convex loss functions and Tsybakov noise conditions. Some concrete examples are provided to illustrate the improved learning rates which demonstrate the effect of various loss functions for learning algorithms. 20A new evaluation method for site selection of large underground water-sealed petroleum storage depots显示文摘Scientific site selection is the first step in constructing underground water-sealed petroleum storage depots, but no uniform standard and code for such activity has been established. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to propose an evaluation method for the site selection of an underground water-sealed petroleum storage depot. The first large underground water-sealed petroleum storage depot being built in China served as the background of this study. The following 12 indexes were used as evaluation factors based on comprehensive evaluation criteria and specifications for key project site selection: geographic structure development feature, topographic feature, lithostratic formation feature, crustal stress, strength of rock mass, joint development feature, hydrogeological conditions, long-term water sealing conditions, environmental/ecological vulnerability, regional stability, technical and economic conditions, and meteorological and hydrological conditions. The weight back analysis and power coefficient methods were also used to evaluate the site selected for the first underground water-sealed petroleum storage depot project. Petroleum site classification models based on the two aforementioned methods were established and used to verify the feasibility of the evaluation criteria and methods, and the evaluation results show the grade of the site selected for the underground water-sealed petroleum storage depot in Huangdao, China is good.
